Perfect Vacation Anyone?

Who loves a vacation?
Who loves to cruise through beautiful Caribbean waters?
Who loves to meet their favorite authors?

Now bundle all of those questions together and you have the perfect vacation package.

I’ve been on a few cruises and I can tell you they are amazing experiences. From the moment you step foot on deck you are pampered and doted on. There is food available twenty-four hours a day, available all throughout the ship or delivered right to your room. There is always something to do or you can do nothing at all. The destinations are always beautiful and you can choose to be super lazy and sit upon the beach or be adventurous and partake in the numerous events that are offered. Anything from zip lining through a jungle, swimming with sting rays, horseback riding along the beach, or taking a historic walk through an ancient ruin. There are more opportunities than time to squeeze them all into. The worst part of a cruise is eventually disembarking and leaving the paradise you’ve become accustomed to.

Now, I’ve also been to an author featured event. Those are also amazing experiences. The swag, the goodies, the books, the overwhelming giddiness of meeting and talking to the people who create the worlds you love to read is like walking in heaven itself. Authors can be introverts by nature, living in their own head most days, but get them out, pour a little liquor into them and you’ll find they are the nicest, quirkiest people you’ll ever meet. Any chance you get to attend an author event take it. You will love it.

So take both of these amazing experiences and mix them together = Perfect vacation.

Expanding Opportunities

Here I write, there I write, everywhere looks good when the opportunity looks right.

Dr. Seuss never fails to get the message correct when you need to say what’s on your mind.

Well, most of the time.

A couple weeks ago a blogging site contacted me about writing and contributing to their site. As I’ve done with most things in my life, I researched, rehashed, debated all the pros and cons, all while my mind was reeling with the possibilities of what I could contribute to the world. Then I made a logical decision, jumped right in and said, “yes”.

Don’t worry you will still find me here, because romance is my first true love, but you can also find me posting on

Be sure to follow me on this exciting me journey as this platform will allow me to expand on ideas beyond just romance.

I hope to see you there.

As always good writing, good reading, and good fortune.

A Heartbreaking and Beautiful Love Story

Fractures in Ink; Clipped Wings (Series)
by Helena Hunting (Author)

This review is from: November 19,2016 By Kay Daniels (eReader)

Fractures in Ink is a contemporary, darker adult romance that is unlike her previous lighter sports comedy, Pucked. Fractures in Ink deals with poverty, multiple types of abuse, child neglect, drugs, and blackmail just to name a few and during all of these very real life events at the center of it all is a couple dealing with if they should even be a couple at all. Helena Hunting took a look at real life situations that unfortunately are commonplace in our society. She didn’t give them an instant means to solve every problem with money and success but instead drove into the doubts and fears we all have regardless of status, age, or sex. Am I good enough to deserve the person sleeping by my side? Will my past hurt my future? This is the heart of what drove this story.

Chris Zelter knows Sarah is leagues above his normal type of woman. His poverty driven background isn’t exactly a fairy tale turned life, but he knows exactly who he is and where he came from, but Chris has come a long way from where he started. He knows deep down Sarah won’t stay forever especially when she begins chipping away at his past, but he would like to continue the façade for as long as she’ll have him.

Sarah Adamson was bound and determined not to be a carbon copy of her mother’s bad decisions. She’s working hard to finish her master’s degree at Northwestern to make that dream a reality, what she didn’t count on was meeting Chris. He is the opposite of every other man she’s ever met, but could he harm her chances of achieving the only thing she’s ever wanted?

Together they have to work on trusting each other which could cost the ultimate prize, their hearts.

Fractures in Ink is heartbreaking, frustrating, real, and devastating, yet at the heart of all this travesty is a beautiful love story. Chris and Sarah show us that everyone has fissures in their armor, don’t look at the surface value, everyone is going through something that you don’t know about. Who you turn to for help and who supports you when things go south is who becomes your family, blood isn’t important when it comes to love. How you handle a situation when everything seems at its worst and come out the other side is what makes you who you are. Who is still by your side when the worst is over says everything.

“We don’t choose our family, but we choose the people we love and let love us back.” – Chris

A Gem of a Read

Cowboy Rising (Cowboy Cocktail-Series)
by Mia Hopkins (Author)

This review is from: November 16,2016 By Kay Daniels (eReader Edition-Goodreads)

There was no predictably with Cowboy Rising, it was a complete breath of fresh air. A true gem of a read.

Georgia Meyers is a journalist who has never set down roots.  Growing up with her father in the military made sure she never stayed in one spot for long, but meeting a hot…headed rancher might make her rethink about her nomad lifestyle.

Daniel MacKinnon is a rancher who’s family roots run so deep he sometimes feels strangled by them. His dreams of ever leaving the ranch are a distant memory, that is until he meets a quick tongued reporter.

Daniel and Georgia couldn’t be more different. That is until they give into their instant attraction. They quickly discover their differences make them feel more at home together then when they try to stay apart.

Cowboy Rising is not only a beautiful story, that you won’t be able to put down, but it will also sizzle in your hands when Daniel and Georgia finally succumb to their desires.

Mia Hopkins is an amazing writer. You will fall in love with the rich text of this story. For instance, as Georgia sifts through the sand while sitting on the beach you will actually feel the granules of sand slipping through your own fingers. Every touch, every breath, every moment you will experience it firsthand.

Cowboy Rising is a lush read that I challenge you to put down before you’ve finished it cover to cover. I was transported into Mia Hopkins’ world and I didn’t want to leave. My one complaint is that the story could have been longer, but that is a huge compliment to the writer.
