Jerk Bait,The Sloane Spadowski Series Book 1 (Series)
by Emigh Cannady (Author)
This review is from: February 26, 2017 By Kay Daniels (ePub Edition-Goodreads)
Jerk Bait is a contemporary romcom that was fun to read, especially after some of the heavier, emotional books that have filled my ereader of late.
Sloane Spadowski is a woman who never does anything permanently; jobs or men. Working as a temp has allowed her to mash both of those things into one; find a new temporary relationship while working a new temporary job is like fishing in a fully stocked pond. When the job is over so is the relationship, catch and release. Perfect.
When she begins her new temp job, working for Andy Anderson, he’s like no one she’s ever met. She throws out all the bait and just as he seems to take a bite, he swims away right as she thinks he’s ready to be caught. It’s frustrating, yet still intriguing and keeps her coming back for more.
Emigh Cannaday has a writing style that is unique and made the reading very fast paced. It made Slone seem like she had ADD, yet never once was I lost in the storyline. Jerk Bait is funny and clever. It does move beyond flirty a little faster than I was expecting for a work place romance, but once you understand how Slone is, it was easy to forgive her behavior and go along with the story.
Jerk Bait is book 1 in a series that is left with a cliffhanger, so buckle in for more Slone antics as she tries to figures out what is going on with Andy Anderson and his mysterious friend Barbie, what is going on with his home life, and what happens when he leaves work in book 2.
