I am wading in the afterglow of Enamor today. Completely living in the book coma world of Giles and Julia that I don’t want to leave.
Veronica Larsen has a beautiful flow of writing. She is able to pull you into the characters world so thoroughly I felt like I was living in their apartment. I was drawn into their lives and it was effortless, riding the same emotional roller coaster Giles and Julia were.
I have to say this isn’t the first time Veronica Larsen has done this to me. She makes me question the characters choices right along with them. Unlike other stories where I always root for the hero and heroine to fall in love, Veronica tells the story in a way that when the character is questioning if things should work out, I question the very same thing.
Maybe things would be better if they walked away.
Maybe things would be better if they just stayed friends.

I never do this, because I love, love, LOVE HEA’S. So this has to tell you that Veronica is really good at bringing you into the characters lives, their minds, their feelings and you empathize with them like you may not have with in other stories you have read.
As Enamor begins Julia is just moving into a new apartment. She doesn’t know Ava well, but well enough to know she’s a good student and works multiple jobs, meaning she won’t be around often. She also knows that there will be a third person living in the apartment, Julia doesn’t know them, but if it is anyone like Ava, Julia just hopes they like her and stay out of her personal space.
Unfortunately, what Julia doesn’t count on is Ava living with her cousin, Giles. A womanizing, annoying, pig-headed, sex-on-a-stick, frustrating man.
Giles and Julia instantly have a love-hate relationship that is funny to read. A prank war begins as they try to one-up one another that begins a road to friendship that neither one sees coming.
Giles Caldwall isn’t quite the man he appears to be. He displays himself as a womanizing perv, but deep down he actually is a decent guy just wrapped up in pervy clothing…okay he is still a perv all the time because is a guy, but Julia is the first girl who looks past his exterior.
As their friendship grows, so do their feelings. Feelings that neither Julia or Giles understand. They both enjoy their friendship, something neither one has had before. They both have been scarred at such a deep level that opening up like they do to one another is something they now consider precious.
They are cautious and take time considering; would having something more, a relationship, tarnish what they already have? Would staying friends be enough? Can they just walk away from one another and let the other find happiness in someone else’s arms?
You will ride this roller coaster right along with Giles and Julia and question every decision they make because you are right in the apartment with them.
