Fun, Fun, Fun! Hilarious, snarky, and LOL perfection! Poppy and Dylan were so fresh, everything executed with perfect timing which had me laughing or smiling through the entire book.

Poppy’s job is a professional purveyor of the written word, or a Cyrano. She can write up a love poem, a juicy text, a memorable wedding toast, or even an apology love note. Her latest job has her tied to Dylan, a chronic manwhore or as she lovingly refers to-

“my current gig as Dylan’s literary gigolo”.

Ah, yes, Dylan. A man who is and has currently and frequently used Poppy’s services because he likes the ladies and ladies like him. However, his current infatuation is proving to be a tougher nut to crack. An old high school crush. This requires Poppy’s services twenty-four/seven.

Plot twist…

Did someone say, douchey ex-boyfriend?

Poppy may know just what to say to win over someone else’s heart, but she doesn’t exactly know what to say when it comes to her own.

Dylan and Poppy both seem to be up a creek, in a canoe, with no paddle in this new situation. Who will come to their rescue? Maybe in this instance no words spoken are just better…let’s leave them alone in the canoe, floating up a creek…for some alone time.

Cupids Anonymous is so much fun, I dare you not to enjoy this ROTFLOL hilarious new romantic comedy!

Review – Bad Divorce by Elise Faber

45041846. sy475

Bad Divorce; Billionaire’s Club #5 (Series)
by Elise Faber (Author)

This review is from: July 2, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥

A fun, no drama, second-chance contemporary romance that will make you feel all swoony. I really enjoy Elise Faber’s writing and while this was the first book I read in this particular series, I had no trouble jumping into the fifth book in it, so it can be read as a complete standalone.

Bad Divorce was such a delightful, easy read, once I picked it up I didn’t set it back down again until I was finished. Bec and Luke were destined to be together, especially since their divorce paperwork burned up leaving them unknowingly married for a decade. Once Luke becomes aware of the error, he sees it as a sign and seeks out Bec ready to win back the woman that he never should have let go in the first place.

I love the comradery of all the girls that Bec has with her girlfriends, in this day and age, women need that band of sisterhood and I love when we show positive support of each other. On another positive note, I love how the characters talk about their growth over the decade they were apart. Talking about where they made mistakes and learning from them is a communication breakdown we lack in everyday life, so I LOVED reading this so much.

Great book! Easy read! Fun and flirty!

New Release – Midnight’s End by Jill Ramsower

Title: Midnight’s End
Series: The Fae Games #5
Author: Jill Ramsower
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: July 2, 2019

Sorceress, enchantress, deceiver, murderer—I’ve been called all those and more, some that might make you blush. Lucky for me, I couldn’t care less what people think about me. I’ve had my sights set on one thing for the last thousand years, and that’s all that matters. I’ll do whatever it takes to find the cauldron, even if it means taking on a partner. They call him a knight in shining armor. For me, he’s my golden ticket. He fell into my lap, quite literally, and now he’s going to help me get what I want.

I don’t play particularly well with others, but he’s the best shot I’ve got, so I’ll hop on that train and hope it gets me where I need to go. He thinks he’s going to crack my shell and see what’s on the inside, like maybe there’s a warm gooey center to make up for the hard exterior. He’s in for a world of disappointment. Everything soft and delicate about me became rough and hardened a long time ago. I’m Morgan Le Fay, and I’m the villain in this story.

“Don’t be absurd. I’m not having sex in Magda’s house, and I told you it wasn’t happening again, anyway. I only agreed to fuel your magic that one time, nothing more.” My smile died as the words came out, and Knight’s playful manner charged to something visceral.
The air in the room thickened, and my heartbeat hammered in my throat. Knight’s lips lifted seductively as he placed the pad of his thumb against the pulse point on my neck.
“That’s not what this says. The thrumming of your heart tells me just the suggestion of having me inside you excites you. You want me as much as I want you. Lucky for you, I had no plans of ravaging you tonight. The noises you’ll make when I’m inside you would terrify poor Magda.”
I took in a steadying breath through my nose, trying not to broadcast how profoundly Knight’s words had affected me.
“I don’t think we need to fear her, but I also don’t think she’s so meek as she would have us believe. She knew about you, that you had suffered. I have no doubt she knew plenty about me as well.”
His features hardened, jaw muscles contracting. “Even more reason to be on our guard. Now, get ready for bed—the sooner this is over, the sooner I can fuck you properly.” He spun me around and placed a sharp swat on my rear.
I yipped in surprise and glowered at him, which only spurred him on. We washed up, and while I stayed in my clothes, Knight stripped to his underwear. Had he been any other man, I would have openly gawked without any problem. Considering our unique situation, I didn’t want to give him any ammunition to use against me. He already knew he affected me, the last thing I needed was for him to catch me openly ogling him.
Same as the night before, as soon as I crawled into bed, Knight yanked me against him. I glared back at him with as much annoyance as I could muster.
“You know, not everyone likes to sleep all smashed together.”
“Whatever,” he murmured into my hair. “You slept so soundly in my arms last night, your snoring could have woken the dead. It was a miracle we survived at all.”
I elbowed him in the gut with indignation. “I do not snore, you giant flea bag.”
Knight burst out laughing and pulled me in even tighter. His soft chuckle close to my ear made my skin prickle with awareness. I attempted to remain stiff and surly, but Knight had a way of withering away my resolve. With his thumb lazily stroking back and forth across my belly, he whispered to me softly.
“Not only do you not snore, you’re even more beautiful when you sleep. I hadn’t thought it was possible, but when you are drifting at peace, you look like an angel.”
For so long, I had accepted my reputation and played my part well. I fed into the rumors, and people saw me as a heartless bitch, treating me as such.
To some extent, I’d begun to believe it was true.
Until I’d met Knight.
He made me remember the person I used to be. Even more confusing, he made me wonder if I wanted to be her again. He made me think and feel a lot of things—all of them complex and terrifying. I wasn’t sure what to do with any of it. I certainly wasn’t ready to share those feelings—nor the tear that slipped from my eye at his words.

Within a year of self-publishing her first book, Jill Ramsower quit her job as an attorney and dedicated her days to churning out romantic adventures. She likes to think of her books as contemporary romance with a touch of fantasy—at its core, her writing is about the connection between two people. Sometimes that connection involves a little magic…

With Jill’s books, you can count on confident heroines, plenty of steamy tension, and deliciously assertive leading men. There are no guarantees in life, but with her books, you know everything will work out in the end. However, a perfect ending would not be nearly as satisfying without a seemingly insurmountable challenge. Jill loves to add plenty of adversity in her stories, creating unforgettably dynamic characters and sneaky plot twists you will never see coming.

Jill is a Texan, born and raised. She manages the hectic social calendars for her three active children and occasionally spends an evening with her dashing husband. Aside from being an author and a mom, she’s a travel junkie and loves to read when she is not lost in her own stories.

To most people, suburbia is synonymous with good school districts, manicured lawns, and friendly neighbors. But you can never really tell what’s hiding behind those white picket fences and smiling faces.

I mean, we all have secrets. The kid down the street steals lawn gnomes. The woman on the corner is having an affair. And me? I’m a murderer. At least…that’s what everyone thinks.

Because that’s the other thing about the suburbs. Rumors spread like wildfire. Handsome detectives start poking around. Houses explode. You know…the usual.

Yes, I have secrets. But so does everyone else. Welcome to suburbia. I’m one of the smiling faces waving from my front porch. Don’t you trust me?

I locked the door and then just stared at it. God, I just lied to a detective. Why the hell did I just lie to a detective? It had felt right in the moment. But as soon as the words left my mouth I regretted them. I could have told him about the woman running through the woods. I could have pointed him in the direction that she had fled. I could have given him every detail he wanted and gotten him out of my hair.
But instead I lied. I shook my head. He hadn’t left me with much of a choice. I couldn’t have the cops poking around in the woods. I couldn’t have them running all around my property with police dogs and metal detectors and whatever else cops used in the search for a criminal. What if they found something? I couldn’t risk it.
I bit the inside of my cheek. Had the detective known I was lying? It looked like he did. Like he could easily see right through me. Shit shit shit.
“It wasn’t a big lie,” I said into the empty room. “It was a little white lie. A nothing lie. There are no consequences for a nothing lie.” Right?
I should have run back upstairs to finish what I had started just in case he came back, but instead I found myself pushing my ear against the door. There was no squeak of floorboards or crunch of leaves. I closed my eyes and tried to listen. The silence was incredibly loud as I pressed the side of my face harder against the wooden door.
Detective Reed’s gaze had been so intense. It felt like he had locked me in place when he was staring at me. Like I could barely even breathe. Does he feel as frozen as me right now?
I moved away from the door. Of course he didn’t. There was no way that he was as affected by our meeting as I was. It was his job to make me feel frozen. For his eyes to bore into my soul, see my darkest sins, and to travel down my body…I shook my head. No. That was most certainly not his job. But he had done that, right? I hadn’t imagined it?
I swallowed down the lump in my throat. All my nerves were on hyperdrive. The only man I had interacted with recently was mailman Joe. And he was like seventy. This was a normal response to a man my own age. Especially one who looked like Detective Reed. I glanced down at the business card in my hand. Detective Tucker Reed.
I tiptoed to the window in the living room and peered through a gap in the curtains. I expected to see him retreating through the woods, but he was just standing there. Staring at the door. Frozen. I could feel my pulse beating in my head. I hadn’t imagined it. He had been looking at me. Really looking. And it didn’t seem like it was purely for detective reasons.
I let myself stare unabashedly at him from behind the safety of the curtain. He didn’t look how I expected a detective to look. Beer bellies and mustaches were the dominant features of the detectives in my mind. But he was most certainly not like the detectives I pictured in my head. He was wearing a formfitting wool jacket that was undoubtedly not hiding a huge stomach. If anything it was probably covering perfect six pack abs. I glanced down at his left hand. There was no ring on his finger. Hot and single. I was good at smelling trouble a mile away. And Detective Reed was most certainly trouble. After all, he was clearly the reason I had lied. I couldn’t think straight when a man with a chiseled jaw, five-o’clock shadow, piercing brown eyes, and a deep sexy voice was staring right at me.
Yes, he was the reason I had lied. He had made me act poorly. It was all his fault. Jerk.
He turned his head and I threw myself down onto the floor. Ow. I cradled my elbow that had just whacked the hardwood floors.
When I peered back out the window, the detective was gone. And a part of me wondered if I had imagined him.

“Hey,” I say quietly, seeing her sitting up and looking at her phone. “You got the alert too?”

She nods and looks up. Even in the dark, I can see the fear in her eyes.

“Are you still scared of tornadoes?” I ask, stepping into the room. I shut the door so the cat doesn’t get out.

“I think it’s going to miss us.”

She nods again, pulling her lips around her teeth. “Hopefully.”

“Want me to sit with you? We can go into the basement if that’ll make you feel better too.”

“If the sirens go off, I’ll go down. And yeah…I’d, uh, I’d like if you sat with me.”

Crossing the room, I sit on the opposite side of the bed. Charlie puts her phone down and leans back against the pillows.

“Do you think it’s pathetic I’m still scared of tornadoes?”

“No,” I tell her honestly. “They are scary. You can’t do anything to prevent them or stop them. All you can do is hide.”

“Exactly. And the energy gets me all jittery.” She holds up her hand. “I’m shaking.”

I take her hand in mine, lacing my fingers through hers. “It’s okay. Try to go back to sleep if you want. I’ll listen for the sirens.”

“Aren’t you tired?”

“Not really. I closed down the bar a few times last week. My sleep schedule is always fucked up.”

“That would mess with you, I guess.”

She swallows hard, looking over me and out the window. It’s pitch black out there, and the rain comes down in sheets. Thunder and lightning tear through the sky, and the windows rattle. Charlie squeezes my hand a little tighter.

“Bad storms tended to break up before they got into the city,” she says. “We had storms, of course, but no tornadoes.”

“We won’t have one tonight either.” I give her hand a squeeze and settle down next to her. She’s still shaking, and it’s killing me not to comfort her more. Pulling the blankets back up to her shoulders, she wiggles a little closer. I don’t know if it’s on purpose or if she’s trying to get comfortable.

Heart hammering, I pull my hand from hers and rest it on her waist. The blankets are between my hand and her body, yet it sends a jolt through me. She moves closer again, and this time I know it was intentional. She rests her hand on top of mine and slits her eyes open, looking up at me.

“Thank you, Owen.”

“Of course,” I whisper back. Her blonde hair is a mess around her face, and I turn off the light on my phone. The storm rages around us, but Charlie is safe in my arms. Her breathing becomes slow and steady, letting me know she fell asleep.

It’s innocent and platonic, and I’m hit with the memory of holding Charlie while she slept off her first drunk experience. I’m working hard to tell myself that this doesn’t mean anything, yet I know this will be a new favorite memory of mine…even if it doesn’t lead to anything.

Let’s just say there’s one thing we don’t clash on.

I’ve despised Drew since I met him years ago. One weekend can’t change us that much, can it?

Indulge in four delicious tales of true love! In Dating Mr. Right, you’ll devour an online dating meets secret identity romance, a friends-to-lovers plus best friend’s brother scorcher, a story of a pair of jaded lovers bitten by the insta-love bug, and an office romance with an age difference.

Lucky Suit…

I’m breaking up with set-ups. No more “can I introduce you to my son, nephew, grandson, the butcher, the guy down the street who mows my lawn.” Machines know what’s best, and I’ll rely on the great dating algorithms of the web to find the ideal man, thank you very much.

Soon enough, it looks like I’ve found him — his nickname is Lucky Suit, and he’s hilarious, quick-witted and full of heart. But when I finally get together with him in person, I have the distinct feeling I’ve met him before.

Turns out there’s more to our meeting than I had thought, and when we discover what truly brought us together, all bets are off.

Once Upon A Red-Hot Kiss…

A man needs to stay far away from falling into bed with his best friend.

Even if she’s sexy as sin, sweet as candy, and damn near irresistible every single day.

But not only are Macy and I best friends, we’re also complete opposites. She’s perky, upbeat, outgoing and I’m . . . how shall we say . . . a little bit broody.

Then, she reveals something to me that just might lead me to revise all my rules on friends in bed…

Too Good To Be True…

To say I’m wary of love would be an epic understatement. Keep that four-letter word far away from me.

But then a matchmaker friend insists she can pair me with the perfect man for me.

Even when sparks fly and chemistry crackles from the first date, I refuse to believe this kind of insta-connection can be the real thing.

Even though for the first time it feels like it could be.

Or is it just too good to be true?

Strong Suit (a short story)…

From the day I meet Ginny in the conference room, I’m smitten with the co-worker who’s ten years my senior. And I’m going to pull out all the stops to win her over.
