One Hot Summer is an anthology comprised of seven stories written by seven different authors. I read Single in Sitka for review purposes, but I’m itching to dive back in and read the rest because I loved Katy’s addition to this anthology and the other stories look just as good.

Katy did not disappoint with her addition to this anthology. Single in Sitka is about a journalist, Amanda, who finds herself in Sitka, Alaska chronicling information about recent bear attacks. Amanda is only in town for two weeks, but while there she also answers a personal ad of single dad, Luke Kingston, perhaps she doesn’t have to be lonely while finding out information for her job. She isn’t exactly ready for a long term commitment again, not after her long term boyfriend cheated on her and left.

Luke didn’t really place the ad looking for a no-strings-attached-get-back-on-the-horse kind of relationship, his sister actually did. It wasn’t that kind of ad…het our minds out of the gutter… she placed in the hopes that he would find something long term, but when Luke meets Amanda they both agree the short-term relationship is the way to go. He hasn’t been on a date since his wife died two years ago and Amanda is his first step out in the dating world again.

As Amanda and Luke get to know one another, it does get a little tougher to see the short term relationship come to end, but that was their rule going into the arrangement. Neither Luke nor Amanda want to leave with a broken heart.

This is the first part to their love story, the second half will arrive in October. I’m really looking forward to seeing how their romance plays out. This is a very steamy new romance series and Katy never disappoints in writing a fantastic romance.

Soooooooo cute!! I love Emma Hart and this book is adorable. I love the banter between Preston and Halley and Halley and her friends and Halley and pretty much anyone in town. I am in love with the small town of Creek Falls and everyone who lives in it. Kiss Me Not is insanely cute fun and I’m looking forward to this entire series!

Every year for the past four years, Halley Dawson has been the kissing booth champion at the annual Creek Falls fair. Not that her competition has been a great hunk to compete against, but still she has been the winner. This year her rival is none other than her long time crush, Preston Wright, also known as her best friend’s brother.

She’s not about to let him stand in her way of winning this year, or let the fact that her long time crush (whom she’s never admitted to anyone) is kissing lots of women, right next to her. Ugh…this year may be harder than ever before.

Preston has always liked Halley. She’s beautiful, smart, caring, basically she’s perfect. So what if the whole town calls her the crazy raccoon lady, everyone has their quirks, her’s was just feeding wild animals.

Preston only signed up so he could get close to her. So what if he had to kiss a lot of other women to do it, maybe she’d finally take notice, maybe he’d finally get his chance, or maybe she’d dodge him every chance he had and kiss him not.

This book is filled with fun, carnival food (so yummy), and lots of quick witted banter.

Brock, you delicious suit wearing-rule following-Blackthorne man. The attraction was instant – on both Jenna’s and my ends. I loved Roxanne’s easy style of writing which made this one of my favorite Blackthorne books yet.

Brock; the man in the suit who is all about the Blackthorne brand. David; comfortable in cargo shorts and loves his family. Brock David Blackthorne is the ultimate fantasy. The Clark Kent/Superman kind of book boyfriend who easily puts on his suit to do good for his family, then is able to put on his glasses and become the nerdy escort to help out Jenna even when she gets herself into a big pickle. This is my kind of kryptonite when it comes reading…super big sigh over sexy, nerdy Brock.

Brock Blackthorne is a hard worker, loves his family and doesn’t sleep around and the few weaknesses he has are extremely adorable. It’s easy to see why Jenna Gillespie falls for the man so quickly or at least the Clark Kent version of the man. Their backwards relationship is full of chemistry and adds to the ultra sizzle that makes this story really pop.

The overall Blackthorne arc has centered around a secret that perhaps went back to the beginning of the family legacy, but this story in particular really dug around in the history of the Blackthornes giving it an element of suspense and mystery which was a nice bonus.

Jenna Gillespie is a writer who is there to write a kind of “tell all” book on the Blackthorne’s. Brock, who is the gatekeeper for anything that touches the Blackthorne name, gets the final say on what Jenna would publish, but given the night they spent together (where neither one knew who the other was) makes Brock even more territorial than normal. He is also concerned given the events surrounding his aunts recent departure that Jenna could upset the Blackthorne business if her questions create a feeling of instability while digging for clues or whatever she’s looking for in writing her book.

Brock may find Jenna extremely attractive, but he will always put his family first. He decides to stick close to Jenna and monitor her to sideline anything that could be harmful before it becomes a problem. The fact that she’s beautiful and could end up in his bed again is just a potential bonus.

This story was a fantastic addition to the overall series and with only two more books to go, it definitely made me anxious to see how everything turns out for the Blackthorne family.
