Logan is the baby of the family and so often throughout the book felt overlooked. Up until this book, each brother or cousin played Logan off as easy going, laid back, care free, etc…he is all of those things, but like we all have a habit of doing in our own personal lives, we forget what someone may be feeling on the inside just because of how they portray themselves on the outside. Logan may be easy going, but he is also sensitive and sweet, smart and never willing to give up.

As the youngest Blackthorne life has come relatively easy to Logan. At least that is what his brothers and cousins would say. Logan is laid back, easily distracted, and has the charm rolling off of him to win over anyone standing in his path. Well, that is except his very own father, Graham Blackthorne. His father wants him to settle on a career and he wants that to happen ASAP. The trouble is Logan can’t decide on just one career within the Blackthorne empire, he’s worked in and studied them all. When his father lays down an ultimatum is this the chance to step up or finally walk away and try something new?

Piper is home for the summer, having just finished her master’s in game design. She has a  decision to make, take just okay job opportunities with established companies where she would lose her rights to the game she designed games or jump on board and be part of a new company where she kept her rights, but with a company who hasn’t made a name for itself, which is scary in itself. While she’s home she takes a job at the Vault, a Blackthorne local bar, and runs into Logan. They grew up together and as one thing leads to another she asks him to look at her job proposal, as it turns out the man is not just a pretty face, but can their summer fling really be more than that?

With big decisions to make for both Piper and Logan it becomes clear that they are headed in opposite directions. While their time home was fun, that’s all it could ever be because Logan is a playboy who lives a carefree life, while Piper is a game designer with a carefully constructed life plan.

Review – Sin For You by Sherilee Gray

Sin For You; Rocktown Ink #2 (Series)
by Sherilee Gray (Author)

This review is from: August 30, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥🔥

Sin For You was a bit of a slow start as Quinn and Logan’s chemistry didn’t jump right off the pages until several chapters in. I know for some readers that would make this a DNF (did not finish) kind of book, but I implore you to stick with Logan and Quinn’s story as they eventually find their footing, which is super steamy, that leads them to their HEA.

Quinn has moved back to her hometown after a recent breakup. She needs time to heal after finding her fiancé in bed with another woman. Coming back home she gets a job, working with Logan, her brother’s best friend who has always been a comforting protector in her life. However, she now is ready to move on and wants something more and that something more is Logan, at least as a rebound type of relationship.

Logan “Bull” isn’t exactly long-term relationship material. He has a past he isn’t proud of, but now he has a steady job and works hard to stay away from the man he used to be. He’s promised his best friend that he’ll do anything to protect his sister, Quinn, he just didn’t imagine that she’d request to be a rebound fling and that saying no would be so hard. Eventually his resolve fails and it’s a lost battle and as much as he tries to hold onto his heart, knowing it’s just a fling, he feels he may have lost that too.

While these two figure out their new normal, what does it mean to have a casual fling, because really they have known each other for years and nothing is really casual between them. Will Bull let Quinn leave when the time comes and Quinn walk away from the first man who hasn’t broken her heart?

Release Date: August 27, 2019

ecover AG.jpg

Already Gone, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby and USA Today bestselling author K.L. Grayson

Falling in love is easy…

New Hope, South Carolina is my home. It’s where I grew up, got into trouble, and fell in love for the first time. Scarlett Kincaid was more than the girl next door, she was my best friend, until she decided that small town life wasn’t for her. One minute she was here, and the next she was gone.

The girl I used to fish with down at the creek is now the biggest name in country music. She headlines world tours, has won four Grammys, and I haven’t seen her since. Until today when she sped through town in her fancy car. One look at her big brown eyes was all it took to stir up a whole slew of emotions. Emotions I’d long ago buried and sure as hell don’t have time for.

It’s the aftermath that’s hard…

There are two things in my life that matter. My music, and my dad. Twelve years ago, I packed a bag and chased my dream. Leaving New Hope and escaping the gossip mill was the easiest decision I ever made. I never planned to return, but my father needs me, and he always comes first. So, I did what I had to do. I cut my tour short and came home, despite having a sister who hates me, and a community that doesn’t trust me.

And then there’s Tucker Andrews.

When he propped an arm on the roof of my car, pulled down his sunglasses and flashed his police badge, I nearly swallowed my tongue. Gone is the lanky boy who used to throw rocks at me and pull my pigtails. Tucker is now a six-foot package of brawny, sexy man wrapped in more muscle than I have hit singles. Did I mention he’s a cop and a single dad?

My goal was to help Dad, and get back to my life. But what am I supposed to do when the life that used to strangle me suddenly fits like a glove, and makes me dream of things I never thought I’d have? What happens when the boy I walked away from years ago becomes one of the most important people in my life? I don’t have room for a man much less love.

Right?

Because it’s impossible to hold onto someone who’s already gone.

Excerpt:

New Hope, South Carolina.

Population 6,129.

I know every soul represented in that number. Not a single one of them drives the shiny red Mercedes that just went speeding by.

Seventy-five in a forty-five.

I flick on my lights and press on the gas, sending my cruiser flying past the city limit sign and the godawful billboard that sits directly behind it; the one declaring New Hope home to country music superstar, Scarlett Kincaid.

It wouldn’t be a big deal if this were actually her home. It’s not. Scarlett may have been born here, but her fancy boots haven’t landed on this soil in over a decade.

All it took was one call from a hotshot music executive to send her packing before the ink was dry on her high school diploma. Scarlett flew from this town fast enough to leave our heads spinning. Before any of us could process what had happened, little Scarlett Kincaid—the same girl who used to build forts with me in my living room while my mama made us mac ‘n’ cheese—had a hit single sitting at number one on the Billboard charts.

She went from homecoming queen and most likely to marry a rich spouse in our senior yearbook, to the queen of country music.

The country loves her. Hell, the whole world loves her.

New Hope…not so much. And it’s high time that fucking sign comes down.

But first, I have to deal with this speed demon in the sexy red car.

I sound the sirens, and the car pulls to the side of the road and waits while I walk to the driver’s side window. It’s still up, the heavy tint preventing me from seeing inside. With a hand on my holster—because you never know what you’re going to walk up on—I knock on the window.

The dark glass lowers.

My first thought: this woman is absolutely gorgeous. Long, dark hair. Pouty lips. And a tiny pink dress. Her eyes are covered by oversized aviators, but I’m sure they’re as pretty as the rest of her.

My second thought: what crazy excuse is she going to come up with to try and get out of this ticket? It never ceases to amaze me the things women are willing to do to keep from getting into trouble. I’ve been offered everything from a blowjob to a pay-off to marriage.

“Do you know why I pulled you over today, ma’am?”

“Tucker?” The woman smiles, then pushes her sunglasses to the top of her head. And that’s when I see the brown eyes I’ve spent more than a decade trying to forget. “Tucker Andrews, is that you?”

I step back and square my shoulders. “You can call me Officer Andrews. Do you know why I pulled you over today, ma’am?”

“Tucker.” The woman laughs and shakes her head. “It’s me, Scarlett.”

At the mention of her name, I’m met with an onslaught of flashbacks. Running hand and hand through the neighborhood with her, laughing and playing, only to have her ignore me the second we got to school. The popular crowd versus the nerds who desperately tried to fit in. She the former, me the latter, and the pain it caused every time she acted as though she didn’t know my name. For years, I pretended it didn’t bother me because I knew that when I got home, Scarlett would meet me at the fence, and the awkwardness from the day would dissipate as though it never happened.

But it did. Day after day after day. I was a glutton for punishment. There was nothing in the world I loved more than Scarlett Kincaid, and it didn’t matter how badly she hurt me, I was always willing to forgive her.

Her smile and laugh might’ve gotten to me in middle school and high school, but I refuse to let it affect me now.

“I know who you are.”

Her smile falters.

About Kristen:

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.

Zara Hughes had her life all laid out.  Find a great story, write it and win awards and accolades.  And if the story is dangerous, all the better.  Get involved in a relationship with another dominant man?  No way.  Not happening.  Not ever again.

Noah Taylor knows what he wants in his life — danger and excitement in his job; peace and quiet at home.  After seeing his friends at Wild Mustang deal with their feisty women, he wants a nice, sweet girl who will keep the home fires burning — a woman he can love and care for and who will never give him a hard time.

When a notorious arms dealer, puts Zara in the cross-hairs of a sniper’s bullet, the result is an explosion of adventure, romance and sensuality that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

It will take you on a journey from London, to the coast of Wales, to the island of Mykonos and to the glittering principality of Monaco.

Contains a hot commanding alpha male, and a woman who is denying her need to surrender to his dominance.

Excerpt:

“Coward,” he heard a feminine voice call with a hint of amusement.

Turning towards the sound, he found himself him looking at Zara Hughes.  He’d recognize her anywhere.  She was tall, with cascading dark brown hair, luminous blue eyes and delicate features.  Those eyes were laughing … at him.

“What did you call me?” he growled trying to banish the image before him.

“You heard me … I called you a coward.  Not that I think you are afraid of danger or are anything less than honorable, but you’re still afraid.”

“Of what?  You?” It was his turn to be amused.

“Not necessarily, but of a woman like me.  You tell yourself you want some nice quiet girl who will do as you tell her, spread her legs whenever you want, give blowjobs on demand and wait at home for the great warrior to return.”

“What if I do?”

Zara laughed.  “You’d be bored out of your mind within a month.”

Trying her best to be noticed.

Ellie has tried everything she can to get the clueless, hunky healer to actually see her. Short of running around naked screaming his name she wasn’t sure what else she could do.
And frankly, she wasn’t even sure that would work.
When Racar discovers she is his mate, she doesn’t know whether to trust in him. To believe him.

To let herself hope.

EXCERPT:

“Was that a request?” she asked.

“No. Why would it be a request when it will happen?”

“You are so arrogant.” She shook her head. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”

“Cute? I have heard people call Giz cute. I am not certain I like being referred to as cute. I am strong. Smart. Loyal. Not cute.”

“Racar, you can’t just dictate to me. You’re supposed to ask me.”

“But if I made it a question, then you could say no.”

“I could.”

“I do not want you to say no.”

She sighed. “Racar, ask me.”

He gave her a disgruntled look.

“Ask me,” she insisted.

“Will you move into my house with me?” he said with clear reluctance.

“Yes. I would love to.”

His face relaxed. “Then why did I have to ask?”

She just shook her head with a laugh. He was impossible. She stared up into his face. He was too gorgeous for words. Her body was on hot, her clit throbbing, her nipples hard little nubs.

“Racar?”

“Yes, my mate?”

“Will you kiss me?” she asked breathlessly, moving her lips towards him. Certain of his reply.

“No.”

EXCERPT

“Charli.” The word was a warning, heavy and gritty. Laced with anger and passion and everything I should run from.
Too bad for him I stopped running a long time ago.
“F*ck you,” I whispered.
I was off my feet before I could register that I’d moved.

***

I picked her up, and in two big paces, I had her back pressed to the huge floor-to-ceiling window that overlooked her kingdom below. It was empty and pale, much like my life had been since I pushed her away all those years ago.
Her nails dug into my neck as her dress hiked around her thighs, her breath fanning hot against my throat. I shoved her harder against the glass with my body, then grabbed both of her wrists in one hand and yanked them above her head.
“No. F*ck you, Miss Vaughn.”
She should have just gone home like a good little girl, and JD could have made sure she was safe, so I’d be safe from this raging need for her that had been licking through my veins, eating me alive for weeks. There was a reason I’d stayed away, damn it. No, instead, she’d insisted on staying for the duration, which meant I couldn’t walk out that door either. And now, here we were.
I sunk into a savage kiss, not bothering with any of the niceties I might have once upon a time. I raked my teeth and tongue across her like a man starving, because that’s exactly what I was. What I had been since the moment she spun back into my orbit the day her mother and grandmother died.
She fought being pinned, bucking like a hellcat on fire and nearly biting my tongue in two, but I kept up my assault, intoxicated with the taste of her after all this time apart. I moved to her cheeks, tasting the salt of her tears. Her eyes. Her jaw. Her throat.
Lust and pure animal need roared through my system like a livewire. I typically prided myself on being the one in control, a man of restraint. With Charli, it was nearly impossible. It always had been.
Her fighting became writhing. Her curses, moans as we found our old rhythm. It was like we’d lost no time. Our heartbeats found their echo.
I released her wrists and cupped her round hips, tracked down her thighs, drawing her skirt up to feel thong and bare flesh. God, her skin was still impossibly soft, like velvet. I traced a fingertip around to find her bare and already wet and needy for me, but I pulled back, even as she pressed forward, her breath catching as she sought more.
I drew back, and her eyes fluttered open, showing me entirely too much, though I knew she never intended to. Not my Charli.
My Charli?
F*ck, this woman was going to be the death of me.
Or I would be the death of her.
Either way, we were going down in flames. It had probably been inevitable since the moment we met when we were kids, our families forging our futures without our consent.
Even then, however, I’d known there was something special about Miss Charlotte Vaughn with those wide, icy blue eyes and innocent smile that spoke of a million pretty promises.
Promises I was too tainted to deserve.
