Forking Around; Hot Cakes #2
(A standalone within a series)
by: Erin Nicholas
The sweetest, strawberriest, make you feel good addition to the Hot Cakes series! I loved this book from the berry beginning to the berry end!
Jane is addicted to everything sweet, especially strawberry’s. It is her one vice in a world that is filled with responsibility. Jane goes to work, takes care of her ailing father, looks after her younger sister, cleans the house her stepmother lives in, and barely has time for herself. She needs a fairy godmother and a night out with a good looking Prince. Until that happens, stopping at her best friends bakery to pick up her favorite strawberry flavored treats is her one indulgence since she doesn’t get out to do much else.
When Dax Marshall, the epitome of fun himself, arrives on the scene at Hot Cakes he immediately zones in on Jane. He is taken in by her dedication to those around her and her love of sweet things. He also wants to introduce a little (or a lot) of fun into her life, he decides he wants to be her Prince Charming to her life of being Cinderella.
Jane lives in a land of responsibility and Dax lives in a land of fun. On paper they seem like opposites, but as they get to know one another, they discover they are more alike than they are opposites.
You are going to LOVE Forking Around. Dax is completely irresistible, the total fun package and every sweet morsel of him is loveable and amazing. Dax turns toilet cleaning into a good time which makes him my favorite of favoritist book boyfriends ever!!!
A Cinderella story with a hot boss so charming even a fairy godmother couldn’t do better.
Everyone thinks Dax Marshall is a prince of a guy. And he’s definitely charming.
But Jane has enough going on without adding a torrid fling with the boss to her life. Between her father’s illness, her wicked-ish stepmother, her little sister’s teenage drama, and the co-workers who depend on her—she can’t handle another mess.
No matter how tempting and gorgeous the mess may be. Or how messy he wants to get with her.
Dax has spent his life being very serious about only one thing: proving you can be successful while still having a helluva good time. But he’s just met the one woman who might break his I-can-charm-anyone streak. She’s actually taking him seriously…and she seriously thinks they have nothing in common and can’t be together.
Maybe he’s the one who needs a new view of happily ever after. It’s time to stop forking around.
