Traded.

Such a dirty word. Starting over in Seattle isn’t what he thought he would be doing. Especially not with the only woman who’s ever turned him down.

Could this trade be a blessing or is it a curse?

Reagan Kelly’s whole life has revolved around football. All she wants to do is to step out of her family’s shadow and create a name for herself in the sport she loves. When Garrett Stone is traded to her team, all her carefully laid plans are blown up.

Can she fight her attraction and keep things professional or is she destined to be the next in the very long line to ride the Tank?

EXCERPT

He lifts me up and slams my back into the wall, making me gasp. I lean forward, biting his lip, slowly releasing it.
“Bed.”
He pulls back, eyes dilated. “I’ll take you to bed, but one thing is for sure, I will fuck you against a wall very soon.” He pulls away from the wall, holding me, hands on my ass and starts walking towards his room.
“Why is that?”
“Because masterpieces belong on the wall, and you, mi reina, are a fucking masterpiece.”

Lexie

I don’t date football players.

As an unproven sideline reporter, I need to show I’m more than a pretty face. And I have the perfect opportunity when my boss asks me to dig into the rookie wide receiver, Gavin Keller. Coming from a family of football stars, he’s my chance to write a huge story about the newest Keller to go pro.

I need to get to know the man under the pads. Is he an arrogant entitled player or is there a side to him no one knows about?

The more I watch Gavin at practice and when he mentors young athletes, the more I realize he’s nothing like I thought. He’s a leader, someone the fans can rally behind.

The more I see, the more I like him—not the player. And the looks he gives me say he feels the same.
As we get closer, I’m tempted to break my no-player rule. But if anyone finds out, it’s my job on the line. Giving in would mean losing everything.

Gavin

I’ve always had more to prove than any of my teammates.

I know what everyone says about me. Since the first time I touched a ball, I’ve been living in the shadow of my family’s football legacy. My life is focused on my game and giving back and nothing else. I’m not giving anyone another reason to talk. That’s until the new reporter, Lexie Austin appears on the sidelines in her skin-tight tailored suits and sky-high heels.

They say she’s only here because of her looks, just like they say I’m only here because of my name.

So what if everyone is as wrong about her as me? She’s more than a pretty face and I’m playing better than ever with her watching. It’s starting to feel like she’s my personal good luck charm.

She doesn’t care about my last name, my signing bonus, or my star potential. She wants to know me.

I want her in my bed, by my side, and in my life. Now I just have to convince her that if she falls, it’ll be the luckiest catch I ever make.

EXCERPT

The expectations were heavy for any rookie, but I’d lived under the shadow of my father’s legendary success and my brother’s rise to stardom. I’d seen the recent headlines: Gavin Keller was drafted because of his last name—any other player with similar stats wouldn’t be playing professional ball. The implication was clear—I’d never live up to my father or my brother’s success. There was no way three football stars could come from the same family. There were many examples of three brothers in the sport or two brothers and a father, but one usually didn’t live up to the hype.
“That was impressive,” a female voice said.
I turned away from the other rookies running sprints to find a tall woman leaning on the fence, with a press lanyard hanging around her neck. She was gorgeous. Her smile was open and friendly.
“Thanks.” My voice was terse. I didn’t want to encourage the press to speak to me. I didn’t want anyone twisting my words to suit the headlines already written in their head.
Her smile faltered for a second before she recovered. “I’m Alexandra Austin. But everyone calls me Lexie.”
“Gavin Keller.” I didn’t move toward her. No matter how beautiful this woman was, I couldn’t afford any distractions. She was the worst kind of distraction—all long legs, dark hair, and striking blue eyes. The suit she wore molded to her body but still left a lot to my imagination.
“I know.” She smiled wider.
It was on the tip of my tongue to say she didn’t. No one knew anything beyond my name and stats.
“I’m hoping to get to know you this year.” She said it matter-of-factly with no overtures or flirtations.
I wasn’t sure how to respond to that. Her tone was sweet and inviting. I flicked a glance at her Seattle lanyard. She wasn’t the enemy, but she wasn’t exactly a friend either.

EXCERPT

Slightly fueled by caffeine, and her own subtly buzzing panic about her mental health, she decided to google ‘psychotic break.’ A Forbes article popped up and she read, ‘In terms of what it means, a ‘psychotic break with reality’ means losing contact with reality, such as hearing, seeing, tasting, smelling, or feeling something that has no external correlate (i.e., hallucinations).’
“Shit,” she muttered, continuing to read, feeling worse and worse as the symptoms uncomfortably lined up with her day.
Is this what it’s like to be crazy?
She didn’t feel crazy. She felt perfectly normal outside of the… hallucination. It was just one hallucination though! No pink elephants or strange voices in her head. Just one hallucination… that had happened twice… in less than four hours.
Fuck.
Groaning, she took another sip of the coffee and then immediately choked on it as her own personal hallucination sat down in the seat across from her. Coughing, she shoved her chair back, covering her mouth as another wracking cough almost doubled her over while he just tilted his head at her.
“Are you all right?” he asked, and she held up her hand, waving away the barista who had started to step out from the counter. It took a minute or so, but, finally, she was able to take a breath that didn’t pull hazelnut-flavored caffeine into her lungs.
Glaring at the hallucination, she hissed, “Are you visible?”
He smiled. “No.”
Grumbling, she wanted to yell so many things at him — it — whatever, but she scrambled for her phone first and pretended to answer it, holding it to her ear. “Hey,” she said to her imaginary friend on the line.
“Hello,” her hallucination responded, looking extremely amused. Dick.
“Why are you here?” she asked softly, trying not to look like she was glaring at empty space in front of her.
“Because you did not go home.” He leaned back in the chair, crossing one ankle over the opposite knee. “I waited for you.”
“You could have continued waiting.” Forever, she added in her head, and he chuckled.
“Patience has never been a virtue of mine, and I think I’ve waited long enough for you.”
“What does that even mean?” she asked, her voice turning slightly high-pitched as she tried to control the feeling of panic rising inside her.
“Just another of the things I’d love to explain to you if you’d meet me at your home.”
“I’m not— you— this is insane! Why am I even arguing with a hallucination?” Leaning forward, she blocked him out by bracing her forehead on her hand. “Maybe I should go to a hospital.”
“That’s unnecessary. You’re perfectly healthy and the tired feeling will pass. Have you eaten yet today?” he asked, sounding almost concerned. As if he — it — actually was. Or maybe that was her own mind reminding her she’d skipped breakfast… and lunch.
Shit.
“Perhaps you should get something to eat.” As the suggestion left his lips, her stomach growled. The fucking traitor. He just laughed. “I think you’ll feel better, be less grumpy, if you grab one of those pastries.”
“Don’t tell me what to do,” she snapped, and he gave her a look that said this-is-what-I-mean. She returned his snarky look with her own you-don’t-even-exist glare.
“I feel like we got off on the wrong foot. Let me feed you tonight, and then I can eat too, and we can both go to bed much happier.”
Dammit, why was his voice so sexy? Like a growly, buzzy, humming, low-thing that found its way between her thighs and made her want… other things.
Things that she didn’t actually want. Not. At. All.
No, it was probably just another symptom of the psychosis. This gorgeous man-hallucination hybrid was most likely just a result of her dry spell since she’d broken things off with Eric… which had been… hell, had it really been nine months? Okay, yeah, that was a while. It had to be the reason she was dreaming up Hottie McCreeper. The same reason she’d had a crazy dream about a porno statue from both her best fantasies and her worst nightmares. There was probably someone in her phone she could call to remedy this without an exorcism or a padded room.
“I’m leaving,” she said out loud, standing up from her chair to remind the pulsing feeling between her thighs that she was serious.
“Well,” her hallucination replied in that delicious voice as he stood. “Why don’t you go home, and I will come see you later this evening. I think a good dinner, and a talk, will make things much clearer for the both of us.”
Why was his smile so charming? It was irritating, but she had to give bonus points to her damaged brain for giving her a psychotic break with flair. It would be much worse to be hallucinating something scary.
“Grace?” hallucination-hottie prompted her, and she sighed, realizing she still had the cell phone plastered to the side of her head.
“Fine, sure, dinner. Whatever. Just go away,” she shooed him, and he laughed. Stupid, sexy laugh.
“One thing before I go.” He crooked his finger and walked past her. “Come with me.”

PRAISE FOR ONE CRAZY BITE

“A vampire cursed and trapped in a statue needs his plehara (fated mate) to set him free. But can Grace accept that everything she sees and feels is real and she isn’t suffering from a break from reality? Sexy and funny and very entertaining.” – Florida Book Addict

“Grace and Nicomachus are two made for each other, but one of them just doesn’t realize it. Yet. And the story revolves and evolves around that discovery. And it is sweet, and funny, and hot, and at the end you will find a weight lifted off you that you may not have realized was there. It’s fun. It’s a damn vampire rom-com! There, I said it.” – Shane Starrett

“Ohhhh, sweet holy moly! I love me some Cassandra Faye!! I couldn’t eat Nic and Grace’s story up fast enough!” – JL Reviews

“This complete modern-day story had me in giggles as Grace tries to comprehend what is going on in her life, and the devoted and persistent Nic tries to win her over. A perfect vampire love story.” – Zelda Car

“The inner musings of Grace as she processed things were hilarious. I laughed out loud at the ordering of a blueberry scone and the reasons why. I have been through that reasoning so I get the need to not be haunted because of a lonely pastry. Nicomachus. SWEET. Holy Hell. who knew a vampire could be so delicious?! Dirty as all hell and intense.” – Maria Howard Review

“This amazing story had me laughing and loving every word!” – Jennifer D.

EXCERPT

Finally, I sigh in defeat and look up, meeting his watchful gaze directly. “I don’t have any money.”
He raises an eyebrow. “Did I ask for money?”
“I don’t have anything else you might want either,” I snap.
“I doubt that…” He pointedly eyes the neckline of my dress, and I shift uncomfortably. It’s cut differently than my tried and true sweaters, displaying more of my collarbone and a glimpse of the flesh beneath. I can’t stop myself from crossing my arms over my chest, and he flashes that dangerous grin in triumph. “In fact, I can think of a few things you could offer—”
“Get out.” I slam the ledger shut and turn away as if just telling him to leave could make it true.
But he doesn’t. Neither does he creep toward my corner to drill in his taunt—and that’s the worst part. I have to endure him, but without the tools I’m used to utilizing. Silence and the safety of my own head don’t work where he is concerned.
His breathing is too noisy, grating and raspy. His scent is overpowering, sneaking into my lungs with every breath. Around him, my thoughts don’t form the protective wall I’m used to hiding behind. They fracture. Splinter.
And he breaks through easily.
“I want to see you hop, bunny,” he murmurs, just when I think I might scream to counteract his presence. “Without the dowdy little sweaters or the boring little mask. I want to prove you wrong. I didn’t run last time. I just gave you a taste. It’s up to you if you want more but with no excuses. No chance to cry assault.”
I bristle at his tone, wrapping my arms around my waist even tighter. If I hope to find comfort in the action…I don’t. His gaze slips beneath the barrier, creeping over me without permission. I can practically feel his gaze rasping along my skin. “What are you talking about?”
“Tonight,” he repeats. “Dragon’s Head. You can even bring your little friend if you want.”
Dragon’s Head. The name conjures the image of neon lights and raucous dancing. “The club?” I frown. “Why would I go there with you?”
He laughs, and his steps resonate through the floor. Alarmed, I turn to watch him move, but he takes his time, giving me every chance to cower and back away.
I don’t recognize the way my breathing hitches as he comes closer. How my nerves tense as he raises his hand, deliberately inching toward my cheek.
“D-Don’t touch me—”
“I have touched you,” he reminds me. “Don’t kid yourself into believing you don’t want more.”
“More of what?” I force myself to meet his gaze only to regret it.
I wish his eyes gleamed in that mocking, cruel way, but their stare is flat and empty. “More of what could happen the next time I have my fingers inside you.”
