Who’s the Boss
(A standalone)

by: Erin McCarthy

Review Rating:

Hilarious!! This insta-hate, enemies-to-lovers had me laughing from page one!

Isla and Sean’s chemistry leapt off the page! Not only did they bring the heat to the kitchen, but these two chefs lit the pages on fire.

Isla is married to her job and Sean is more than happy being single, but when these two meet on the way to an engagement party…well, other than basically lighting each other on fire, verbally that is, but ending with an incinerating, toe curling kiss…the sparks really begin when Sean takes over Isla’s kitchen as her new boss and beware a chef scorned out of a promotion.

While neither forgot about their meet cute, neither are necessarily looking to ignite a relationship. They are just hoping to work together without getting fired or murdering one another. But it isn’t long until neither can really help that their attraction to each other, I mean their chemistry is off the charts, so then the question becomes, can they cook at work and sizzle in the sheets without burning down both of their worlds?

Who’s the Boss is a fun, laugh out loud read that was highly enjoyable with the right amount of steam!

When your enemy becomes your boss, tensions are bound to boil over…

Arrogant, charming and sexy as hell, Master chef Sean Kincaid is legendary both in the kitchen and in the bedroom. So of course it only took five minutes for him to get me overheated. My temper that is.

Because Sean Kincaid is my new boss. Who has strolled into my kitchen demanding I follow his rules. I don’t like taking orders from anyone but certainly not from a grumpy man who knows how to push all of my buttons.

And when a Best Chef competition pits the two of us against each other, it’s either going to be a sizzler–or a recipe for disaster.

Review – Vow of Worth by Emma Renshaw

Vow of Worth; Vow #6
(A standalone within a series)

by: Emma Renshaw

Review Rating:

It all begins with a precocious dog. Pepper Jack gets all the credit, not only for stealing the adorableness in this story, but he is the reason for bringing Kiernan and Caroline together–well, at least to their meet cute. Add in oily muscles, a delicious training session and wowza–this book has it all.

Okay, so Pepper Jack may be the class clown of his obedience training class, but he’s only taking on the traits of his owner–most likely. Kiernan is known for levitating situations with humor and back in high school he was voted class clown a time or two, so it certainly seems fitting that the dog he rescued is just like him. While he’s one of the best in intelligence at MarxMex, now bringing down the criminals who try to hurt others he was known as someone quite different when Caroline knew him.

When Kiernan walks into Caroline’s clinic and doesn’t recognize her, she shouldn’t feel hurt considering she’s basically been invisible her entire life, but she’s a different woman than she was years ago. Caroline has worked hard at shedding the skin of the invisible girl back in school or the girl her family doesn’t appreciate. She’s now a highly sought out veterinarian, hence why Kiernan is standing in her clinic, so when she tries to turn him away she digs deep down searching for vindication, unfortunately she doesn’t. Good thing for her, Kiernan is stubborn and shows up for her class even when she didn’t want him to.

Caroline’s life takes an intense turn when she’s pursued by a stalker and her safe life suddenly is violated. Thanks to the company where Kiernan works he’s able to help, but more so for his own peace of mind, he’s able to insert himself into her life and get a second chance at winning her over. Caroline and Kiernan grow closer while he tries to catch her stalker, but will they catch the man before things take a turn for the worse?

Filled with suspense and steamy romance – bring a fan to cool down because Emma brings the heat – Vow of Worth has it all!

She’s always existed in someone else’s shadow.

Caroline never thought she was good enough, always believing that little voice in the back of her head.

For the first time, Caroline is determined to ignore those feelings. She’s living for herself, loving her job as a vet, making a difference. Her simple and easy life is everything she could want, except for one thing…

He’s never let anyone see beneath his carefully crafted façade.

Kiernan has always been the life of the party. But he’s tired of no one expecting more from him than a good time. He’s ready for a purpose, to do some good in the world.

From the moment he walks into Caroline’s clinic, she knows who he is. The high school crush who never had a clue she existed. His handsome face threatens to resurrect all her self-doubt. But that was the old her.

When Caroline is threatened, she knows exactly whose doorstep to turn up on. Kiernan vows to protect her but, from the beginning, it’s more than a job.

She is his purpose. He is her missing piece.

But before they can discover everything they’ve been missing, a killer may take it all from them…

Review – Reforming Kent by Siobhan Davis

43726284. sy475

Reforming Kent; The Kennedy Boys #10
(#10 within an interconnected series)

by: Siobhan Davis

Review Rating:

Siobhan Davis knows how to wrap us up in an angsty, passionate tale. Kent Kennedy has been broken for so long he seems almost beyond repair, but unable to put this book down Siobhan gave us a redemption story that is emotional and made my heart burst with love.

This is the final Kennedy book–unless Siobhan grants us with the next generation, pretty please–and she did not disappoint with saving the best for last. There is something so satisfying with a glorious redemption story. The fabled phoenix rising from the ashes. Kent surpases all expectations for being redemed.

For multiple books we were given a sense that there was more to Kent than just his bad boy persona. There was something underlying that caused a deep pitted trama, but due to Siobhan’s brilliance in her writing, she only gave us hints and kept up his awful behavior. Kent wasn’t ready to rise from the ashes, yet.

Enter Presley and for the first time in Kent Kennedy’s life those demon’s that have whispered in his ears for years were quiet. Presley is the flame to burn down those walls that even gives his phoenix a chance to rise. We get to see a side of Kent that we didn’t even know existed. Without giving too much away – for the Kennedy we assumed always had the most experience, he’s very much a virgin in the ways of wooing a woman. Kent is going to pull at your heartstrings and touch your soul unlike any of his brothers.

Presley is also going to wrap around your heart. She is strong, but sensitive in the very best ways. She is the perfect match for Kent, not taking his BS, but also finding her way through the arrogant man that he presents to the outside world to find the sensitive man he actually is underneath. She’s had a hard life, but she hasn’t let it break her, instead her strength is exactly what Kent needs to help him find his way out of the darkness he constantly lives in.

Out of the Kennedy brothers, Siobhan has written so many glorious couples, but I think Kent and Presley are one of the strongest and one of my favorite couples in the entire series.

Rogue. Troublemaker. Bad Boy. Delinquent.

Everyone thinks they know who I am, but they know nothing.
And that’s how I prefer it.
Keeping my demons under lock and key is my only survival tactic.
Until she enters my life, turning it upside down.
She thinks she can fix me. That I can reform myself and redeem my sins.
But I’m beyond the point of saving.
And if she doesn’t let go, I’ll only drag her down this dark hole with me.

Whitney is NOT Kent’s forever love. His lady love is Presley, a woman who was introduced at the end of Adoring Keaton.

Review – Joyful Engagement by Mari Carr and Lila Dubois

55284295. sy475

Joyful Engagement; Trinity Masters #12.5
(#12.5 within a series)

by: Mari Carr and Lila Dubois

Review Rating:

Joyful Engagement is a novella that brings together a new throuple while trying to wrangle in one of my favorite trinities. Fall in love with these new characters, while trying to avoid some of the worst possible tortures….do, do, do, do… earworm.

Mari and Lila always bring the laughter along with the smexy good times and this novella was able to bring both in a very short span. The trinity that Tate and Roman are commissioned to bring in are one of my favorite in this series, which may be why I loved this book so much, regardless of why, the dynamic between both teams is funny and the chemistry is electric.

Planning a wedding has never been this dangerous.

Warrior Scholar Tate Greene has been given a simple job: mailman. He, along with Roman Tanaka, travel to South Carolina to deliver two letters. Just two.

When Tate, Roman, and Scarlet Hall–who has a secret mission of her own–get to Charleston, they find out that the Grand Master has sent them into hostile territory, and the simple task is far more dangerous than Tate expected.

After a run in with a stun gun, the three find themselves held captive by the very people they were sent to surprise. They’ll have to work together to not only escape, but keep a trinity from ruining their chance at a happily ever after.

Cover Reveal – A Bridge Between Us by K.K. Allen

A Bridge Between Us, an all-new suspenseful, small-town romance from USA Today bestselling author K.K. Allen is coming November 19th, and we have the gorgeous cover!

I had always known he wasn’t mine to keep, but that didn’t change the way I loved him—quietly, gently, and from afar.

As the seasons changed, the corn stalks grew strong, and the grapevines flourished with hope. But none of it mattered, not when the soil at our feet bound us in a century-old rivalry. We’d never even had a chance.

They said life flashed before your eyes on the way to death, but on that night, after my final scream burst from my throat and my world started to fade to black, I only thought of him. Of his sweet chocolate eyes, his desperately cautious stare, and his silence that carried more weight than gold.

I should have died that night. Instead, I crossed the moonlit bridge and never returned.
I let rivalry win. If only that had been enough to keep us all safe. If only we didn’t have a bridge between us.

Review – Glass Heart Broken by Lindsey Iler

54464964. sy475

Glass Heart Broken; Glass Heart Academy #2
(#2 within a series)

by: Lindsey Iler

Review Rating:

Mystery, deceit, and who to trust? Glass Heart Broken picks up right where Glass Heart Savage left off. Marek and Palmer are still twisted up in a tale of deception and lies, unsure of how much someone else is pulling the strings or if they are still deceiving each other.

While Palmer may have jumped into a relationship with Marek to try and uncover information about her sister ,Reed, she can’t seem to help falling deeper into emotions for the man that may destroy her.  While Marek has shown her the monster that lives inside of him, a monster that calls to the darker side of her, he also has a softer side that he doesn’t show anyone but her. The only problem, she doesn’t know if it’s an act or something real.

Marek can admit he’s played wicked games with Palmer in the past, but as his feelings are growing for her he’s not sure how he can forgive himself for the the hurt he’s caused her. He’s also not sure he can just shut off the dark side that lives inside of him, but he’s gotten to a point where he craves her and isn’t sure how to ever let her go. Before he can ever contemplate a future he has a past he needs to deal with and it has just crash landed on his doorstep and it seems the more he and Palmer try to uncover the mystery surrounding the murders on campus the more they find themselves falling into something more sinister than they ever thought possible.

A thrilling conclusion of Marek and Palmer’s story, but these boys of Glass Heart Academy are just heating up.

The campus of Glass Heart Academy will never be the same once we’re through with it.

They tried to break me, but they underestimated my strength.
When Marek says things aren’t always what they seem, I don’t want to believe him.
Now, I know the dark truth in his words.
As a participating player in this wicked game, how do I know who to trust when it seems our past is doomed to repeat itself?

Cruelty is my love language, and Palmer’s ready to make me pay for it.
We both know we shouldn’t want what’s right in front of us.
Will she accept the dark, broken pieces of me, or will she always watch over her shoulder, waiting for my blade to take pieces of her she doesn’t know are exposed? While we try to find ourselves in each other, darkness continues to follow us, setting off a series of events no one is prepared for.
What will be the cost of exposing the truth that haunts us?

New Release – The Golden Boys by Nikki Thorne & Rachel Jonas

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝘽𝙤𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙮 𝙉𝙞𝙠𝙠𝙞 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙚 & 𝙍𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡 𝙅𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙇𝙄𝙑𝙀! 𝘿𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙨-𝙩𝙤-𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚. #𝙊𝙣𝙚-𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮!

West Golden—so easy to hate, yet so hard to resist.

Don’t let that pretty face of his fool you. He isn’t the boy next door, or the kind you trust with your heart. He’s the devil in designer jeans, with all the charm of a bona fide psycho.

Trust me.

He swears I did something to cross him before I even stepped foot inside Cypress Prep, but it’s a lie. No one knows better than me that I’m all out of chances. One more misstep and I can kiss my future goodbye, which means I can’t possibly be guilty of whatever he thinks I’ve done.

West marks me with a target anyway, and as this town’s football star, no one dares to go against him. His money, status, and the loyalty of his equally entitled brothers makes him seem untouchable. Only, I know better than that.

This false god isn’t infallible like he wants the world to believe. Whenever I stare into those devilish green eyes, I see it plain as day. The chink in his armor. His one and only weakness.

The King of Cypress Prep has finally met his match and taking him down just became an inside job.
