I was so torn up over this book. The hopeless romantic vs. the practical person kept having a battle in my head and overall I was fighting for the love between these two men.
Cooper is twenty-eight and has only dated women his entire life, but with each failed relationship he knows something is missing he just doesn’t know what. He was a hopeless romantic, but mostly he just felt hopeless as he continued to fail at love. Then one drunken night when he kisses Ricky (his sister’s best friend), he could chalk that moment up as a drunken mistake, but when weeks pass and he can’t stop thinking about it he knows he can’t pass it off as a drunken mistake.
The decision to pursue a relationship with Ricky didn’t come easy, especially when he didn’t like labels associated with the changes and emotions he was going through and the box society wanted to put him in, especially after twenty-eight years of being attracted to women Cooper knew his attraction to Ricky wasn’t going away. It was powerful and something he’d never experienced before. He knew he wanted to pursue that connection more to see where it would go. That hopeful romantic knew what he wanted and he wanted Ricky.
Ricky was practical and had a tendency to self-sabotage his relationships. Years ago his first ever chance at love was with a man who wasn’t out of the closet and Ricky still bore the scars of it, so he wasn’t looking for a repeat in Cooper who was just beginning his journey out of the closet only to decide to duck back inside again. However, Cooper was tenacious and with each encounter was working his way under Ricky’s skin.
The practical side of my brain was totally on Ricky’s side. I understood why he didn’t want to invest in Cooper if Cooper wasn’t going to stick around for the long haul, however, when Cooper was being upfront and laying himself bare, the romantic in me had a hard time staying in the Ricky camp because….hello….it’s love.
I continually waffled back and forth between my two sides, which made for a wonderfully told story. Top that off with some steamy scenes and Upside Down was a great book.
Synopsis:
From USA Today bestselling author A. M. Madden comes a stand-alone about one man’s awakening to all-new desires—and to a life-altering romance.
I’ve always been known as the hopeless romantic … the nice guy … the sweetheart.
Everything in my life supported this persona. My students loved my easy personality. My colleagues admired the way I handled myself in the classroom.
But something was always missing.
Like so many relationships before it, my current attempt at love felt like a dead end. When she gave me an ultimatum, I couldn’t promise to give her what she wanted.
So, she ended it.
Explaining another breakup to my family was the last thing I wanted. But doing it on a luxury yacht at my brother’s wedding lessened the hardship.
I never imagined that trip would change everything… and I certainly wasn’t prepared for him to change everything.
Upside Down is a sister’s best friend, straight-to-gay stand-alone romance that contains adult content.

K. Webster and Misty Walker have revealed the covers for their upcoming releases, Sheriff’s Secret and Kian’s Focus!
Brigs Ferry Bay is a steamy MM romance series. Fall in love with the charming small-town gay romances of Brigs Ferry Bay.
Sheriff’s Secret December 29, 2020
When you’re the sheriff of Brigs Ferry Bay, certain things are expected of you. Marry a local girl, settle down, have a few kids. You know, the small-town dream. But I’ve got a secret I’m terrified will get out.
I’m gay. Not bi. Not curious. Not confused. Just gay. So, settling for that dream won’t be happening.
If this secret gets out, the people I serve and protect, especially my father, won’t be accepting.
I’m not brave like my high school sweetheart, Kian. The day he came out was the day I had to let him go, and with it, love.
I’ve done a great job of pretending I’m perfectly fine being single. Until a villainous and annoyingly charming new B&B owner, Dante Kincaid, rolls into town. The spark between us is electric and undeniable. He wants to give me a taste of what he has to offer, and better yet, he vows to be discreet. I’m too selfish to refuse.
But my secret is still a heavy burden, leaving me handcuffed to expectations and unable to fully grasp what I want—him. History has a way of repeating itself, but this time around, with Dante, it’ll hurt a lot worse.
I have to decide if I’m going to let love slip away again or if I’m going to finally fight for it.
Kian’s Focus January 12, 2021
I lost my boyfriend on the night I had planned to propose. It was a horrific accident that was all my fault. I gave up and resigned myself into a life of obscurity.
Until I got a call that my sister, Sara, needed me. It gave me purpose and I ran to her rescue. Because that’s what I’ve done our whole lives.
That’s how I ended up in Brigs Ferry Bay. But when I showed up, things were so much worse than I thought. She was sullen, fragile, and sinking into a depression I didn’t know how I’d get her out of. Together, we were drowning.
Until I met Kian. He’s everything I’m not. Bouncy, bubbly, full of life, and an innate ability to make everything better. He makes me believe I can be happy again.
Now the unthinkable has happened and Sara is on the verge of losing her life. Once again, it’s all my fault. Kian had clouded my vision with promises of hope and forever. I was so stupid to believe I could be happy again.
I try push him away. To shove him out of the darkness that follows me. I don’t want him to suffer the future fate had secured me to. But Kian’s focus is on me And he’s used to getting what he wants.
While each book can be read as a standalone, to get the full experience, they’re best read in order. Enemies to lovers, hurt comfort, age-gap romance, and so much more.

Xavier Neal is a new author for me and while this is the fourth book in the series, I had mixed feelings while reading this particular book.
As far as the story between the two main characters, Hugo and Crash, when the main focus of the story was between them, I really enjoyed how they connected and their love story played out.
Hugo is the defenseman both on the ice and has natural instincts to defend and protect everyone in his life off the ice as well. When his friendship with his long time friend, Crash, develops into something more, his natural instincts to protect Crash from everyone and everything, even his own feelings. It also allows Crash to take advantage of their long time friendship when Hugo doesn’t know how to express his feelings.
Navigating their new found roles from friends to lovers takes a new skill set and they both have to work at it, but it’s something that Crash has never had to do. While he loves Hugo as a friend, loving someone as more is something he’s never done.
Again, I loved watching these two men figure out their feelings for each other, so the part that I had mixed feelings over was the continual insertion of outside forces. I typically love quirky secondary characters, but this book was flooded with them which left too much time in between Hugo and Crash time. This is my opinion and doesn’t reflect the author’s writing in any way, it is just a preference of mine.
If you love hockey and you love two men finding their love for one another, then Defensemen No. 9 might be for you.
Synopsis:
The next installment in the Hockey Romance series featuring everyone’s favorite Defenseman Hugo Rhinehart.

There was a sweet comfort to this snowed-in together story. Like a cheesy Hallmark movie, but with the heat turned up ten thousand degrees.
These two souls, Ryan and Kendall, have avoided each other most of their lives, only interacting when necessary, but even then with contempt. As much as Ryan’s sister and Kendall’s best friend, Cami wished they got along, it never happened, but it was most likely due to mutual attraction that both denied having to one another.
However, now that both Ryan and Kendall are trapped in a cabin with no rescue in sight they are forced to not only co-exist together, but for the first time ever they are forced to be truthful about their feelings for each other.
Ryan and Kendall have tons of chemistry and they have zero problems once their clothes are removed. This story is hot!! Where they begin to doubt one another is after the hormones calm down. They have insecurities and doubts, just like the rest of the world, about what will happen once they leave the cabin. Can they survive long term? How will things work outside their bubble?
The Best of Us is mega hot, but also contains a super sweet story about two people just as messed up as the rest of us. Another Kennedy Fox hit!
Synopsis:
What happens when the biggest blizzard of the year hits and you’re trapped in a cabin with your best friend’s brother? You take every opportunity to spend time together and make him fall in love with you.

Mistletoe Wishes, an all-new small-town holiday romance from JJ Carlson, is coming December 8th, and we have the stunning cover!
The last thing Keaton wants is to be stuck in the small town his father owns for the holidays. The only thing he detests more than Christmas is small towns that make a big deal over the holiday. Especially a holiday Keaton associates with his mother’s death. Keaton plans to get rid of his father’s investment as quickly as possible, but what he doesn’t expect is to get tangled in tinsel with the beautiful Harper—a feisty little baker who is determined to push his limits.
Harper wants nothing more than to make her bakery, Mistletoe Wishes, a successful franchise. She’s worked hard to get to where she is today and isn’t about to let anything—or anyone—stand in her way. With relationships and romance being at the bottom of her list, Harper finds herself in unfamiliar territory when she meets the sexy Keaton Snow. His aversion and distaste for Christmas and her home town are the only things she doesn’t find attractive about him.
Will Keaton open his heart up to Harper and let the joy of the season, and a promise of a future, deter his plans to sell the town he grew up resenting?
About JJ Carlson
JJ is a storyteller who believes that love has its own unique language, and that if you listen close enough, you’ll hear it’s song. She writes about love in a way to shatter barriers.
Three things. This book is beyond good, it’s brilliant. This book is not only beautiful outside, it’s beautiful inside. This book is family, friends, understanding, caring, acceptance, love, and life. It’s everything.
River Tate is one beautiful man, and I’m not just describing his gorgeous outside package. Ilsa is the queen of writing vulnerable, but at the same time very strong heros and River is all that and more. He is riddled with learning disabilities, but has come to his senior year of college overcoming or masking them to the point where basically no one knows about them. Does it help that no one does? He comes across socially like he’s got his life all figured out. Girls want to be with him and guys want to be him, so perhaps, but emotionally and mentally he’s exhausted…a lot. Add in that he’s constantly worried about his mother, who is very sick and the choice weighing on his shoulders of continuing school or entering the NFL draft. All of this, plus the gorgeous girl that he shouldn’t like is a lot to bear, but it makes for one honorable man that may have won the best book boyfriend of the year.
Anastasia Bailey transferred in as a junior, so when she caught the eye of a few guys on campus, well…I’ll just say, she is currently dating one of River’s frat brothers, but is Donovan really the one for her? While they talk about attending Harvard together and practicing law, there are also a lot of red flags when it comes to their relationship. When things begin to really go south, Ana and her roommates come up with a revenge pact…a plan to make her ex jealous, who better than the god of campus himself, River Tate to help carry out that plan.
Ana and River’s friendship blossoms as they spend time together, not only coming up with ways to carry out this revenge pact, but also she’s agreed to help tutor him as “compensation”. They find they have a lot in common, much more than just revenge, but even if they feel something towards one another, how would a relationship even last when it’s built off of a foundation lies? Neither want this black mark between them, but how do you start fresh when it also exists?
These two have so much in common, but even with their huge draw to one another, they are both loyal to a fault and it’s almost maddening. GAH!! It certainly kept the pages turning to see if they would give in. Even though you wanted them to cave, I totally respected their morals too. I’m telling you Ilsa really hit this book out of the park, I liked both characters so much, I couldn’t have been rooting for two people harder than I was for them. So like I said above, this book is absolutely everything!!
Synopsis:
River Tate is a god on campus.
The king of football.
A tattooed bad boy with gunmetal eyes that see right through you.
The only chink in his armor is her, the girl he pretends doesn’t exist, the forbidden one with the shy smile and lavender hair.
Anastasia Bailey is a nobody.
The queen of nothing.
An outsider with the face of an angel and a body made for sin.
The only chink in her armor is him, her boyfriend’s frat brother, the football player who hates her.
But when Anastasia’s life comes crashing down, River’s the one who sweeps in and picks up the pieces.
Torn between loyalty, lies, and secrets, he battles the temptation to take everything from her when they make their revenge pact.
He can’t tell her no.
Because revenge (or love) is, sweet, and once you get a taste, the craving never ends.
The Revenge Pact is first in a series about three college football players.

Oh, Tia Louise you have done it again!! This grumpy hero will win your heart while you wish you were the beautiful heroine riding shotgun for this cross country road trip.
Hooked, hooked, hooked…I’m so hooked for this road trip. It was fun, it had chemistry overload, and it had intrigue. Everything that makes a pandemic book fun to read.
Yes, I said it…the dreaded 2020 word. Hope and J.R. (two strangers-gasp) are in a car together traveling cross country during the pandemic, but instead of it being the end of the world virus wise, This Much is True is a fun, steamy romp which they survive, thankfully (safely, and while following medical precautions and all).
I love that Tia was able to have fun while the world has turned upside down. If I had to compare the characters to world events; J.R. really seemed to encompass the worlds anger (but in a hot, brooding, grouchy way), while Hope (great name choice) is the beacon of light that we all need in the world right now.
J.R. is looking for revenge and he’s filled with anger (aren’t we all after this year). He’s been locked in jail after being wrongly accused for a crime he didn’t commit and he wants answers. When a beautiful girl awakens in his back seat, one he obviously wasn’t expecting, J.R. isn’t exactly thrilled, but how do you dump a girl in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a pandemic?
While Hope is filled with this eternal…well hope, she’s constantly happy, even being stuck in the car with Mr. Unhappy. Should she be worried about going on a road trip with a stranger? Yes, but strangely she’s not. Currently she’s unemployed due to the pandemic so what does she have to do? Nothing. Might as well make the best of her situation and enjoy the ride.
I’m also going to let you in on a little secret…well maybe it’s not little. The book is funny, okay it’s more than funny, it’s hilarious at times. It’s going to make you smile something fierce and a huge part of that is due to the secondary characters. You are going to love them so hard, but that is all you are getting from me.
Fall in love with this amazing pandemic love story.
Synopsis:
A smart and sexy romance about a grumpy single dad on a mission of revenge, and the girl he can’t leave behind by USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise.
Hope
I blame the alcohol.
I lost my restaurant business, was forced to sell my dad’s cherished 1967 Chevy Impala, and I got a little drunk.
Now I’m waking up with the hottest, angriest guy I’ve ever seen, speeding down the highway like a bat out of hell.
Ice-blue eyes hit mine with stomach-clenching force…
And he swerves onto the shoulder, ready to kick me out.
Needless to say, our romance doesn’t start out sweet.
J.R.
Two years ago, I hugged my little boy goodbye and told him I’d be right back.
Next thing I knew, I was arrested and sent to prison for a crime I didn’t commit.
Until they let me out early…
Now I’m headed home to confront the man who put me away.
A lie put me behind bars, and I’m ready to find the truth.
I don’t have time for a sexy girl with pale blonde hair and bright blue eyes stowed away on the backseat of my new car.
My mission is to get my son back and clear my name.
Love is not on the agenda. It never is, though, is it?
(THIS MUCH IS TRUE is a single-dad, opposites attract, stand-alone romance. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

Tijan plucked out my heart and filled me back up with so many new emotions!! The Not-Outcast is unlike any story you will read. It’s more important than just a romance that blooms between two people, but it’s a look at the love you allow, or don’t allow, in your life and how that love has a ripple effect when the people in your life cast stones around you.
The Not-Outcast is a hugely emotional story that sheds a light on an ugly side of humanity, but it also showcases the heartfelt beauty of goodness and decency on the other side.
Cheyenne hasn’t had the best life, but it’s a life that she hasn’t known any other side of. Her mother, more times than not is strung out on drugs, leaving Cheyenne to fend for herself, walking the streets or living in homeless shelters, when Cheyenne finds herself locked out of her own home or alone, when we find out her own father abandoned her to live this way, but no real reason as to why. Throughout the entire book, Cheyenne is very self reflective of her feelings and truly never wants to burden those around her. So, in the aspect of how she grew up, she is aware enough that she never wants to draw attention to herself or take away from someone else who could be suffering more.
Cheyenne is going to burrow her way into your soul and you are going to wish you had everything in your rights to give her. The moments when Cheyenne truly feels that she is better off alone, not inflicinting her brand of “crazy” on anyone is so saddening and yet so many people have done just that and have walked away in her life. This mental jail that she lives in day after day, made me weep. Tijan breathed life onto the page and saddened my heart for her over and over again.
While Cheyenne dealt with her mental struggles, Cutler was there through it all. He was patient, he was gentle, he was everything Cheyenne needed. When he feels the initial pull to her, yes, it’s pure chemistry, but the more he stays, he knows it’s something bone deep and making that conscious decision to stay is huge. Falling in love is easy, staying in love takes effort and Cut makes that conscious choice to put in the work. It’s so easy to walk away when someone, for all appearances, isn’t broken on the outside, but on the inside will never get better. While this story isn’t all kisses and roses, Cut has some huge decisions to make on this journey too and none of them are easy, but the way Tijan writes his own path is absolutely perfect.
Cut and Cheyenne together have great chemistry and their love for one another is strong. Cheyenne and her best friends are absolutely amazing together and make me miss my friends something fierce. Cut and his teammates are fantastic and I love their comradery. This entire story is going to touch you and make you think and stick with you long after you finish.
Synopsis:
Cutler Ryder was everything I wasn’t.
He was the hockey star. I was an outcast.
He was best friends with my stepbrother, that same stepbrother who hated me.
His two parents loved him. My mom was a junkie. My dad barely knew me.
Years passed.
I got my life together.
Cut went onto NHL stardom.
Then there was a text.
I was drinking.
There was a party.
Cut was there…
I loved Cutler Ryder since the first moment I saw him.
The only problem? He never knew I existed.

“When your whole world is shaken from all the risks we have taken, dance with me. Dance with me into the colors of dusk.” ~ Ben Harper
I’ve served my country, a man, and a cause. I’ve given my whole being while at the same time finding its true meaning. There was no way for me to know the day I met the men who were to become my best friends that they would introduce me to the love of my life.
Fiery red hair and hypnotizing emerald eyes caught my attention.
Creamy, soft skin, a stark contrast to mine, seduced my body.
Strength, devotion, and determination stole my heart.
I am Reid Murray, and I’ll kill without regret to once again dance in the dusk with my wife. This war has only begun. I won’t rest until it’s done.

What I discerned from his emails was that he was smart, polite, instinctual, not in the habit of complaining about a workload he couldn’t have anticipated, and eager. But I’d known that already, hadn’t I? I almost shuddered at the thought, the same as I almost shuddered again when I looked at him. He was beautiful. Absolutely fucking beautiful. I’d never thought a man could be that. Not because I believed in outdated stereotypes or that beauty was a woman’s domain and not a guy’s. But because I looked to men for certain things, and appearances rarely mattered. In the dark, all sins were covered. Scars, tattoos, zits, the places I frequented when I was in a mood hid all those from sight. I went to dark rooms to be fucked. For the adrenaline rush. For the release. For the freedom to be me, a ‘me’ who could only ever be allowed out amid the shadows. For the danger. No holes barred, no rules… liberation in its purity. So, no, men to me weren’t about looking for some eye candy to drool over. If they had a cock, my ass was ready to be reamed. Simple as. But Micah proved me wrong. Green eyes that were like glass, skin like cream, lips that were pillowy and reminded me of exactly why being sucked off by him was delicious… For a second, he was all I saw. In the cheap suit that was surprisingly smart, in the colors that offset his hair and skin tone, that made his eyes pop even greener in the light from the wall of windows behind me… It was like some mystical creature had wandered through my doors. Then Sadie cleared her throat, drawing my attention her way. I blinked, spied her confusion, and beamed a smile at her. It was her turn to blink, before she licked her lips and a little breathily asked, “Would you like coffee, sir?” “Please. What would you like to drink?” “Sadie knows my preferences. Thank you,” Micah said to me, before casting her a look that encompassed his gratitude to my receptionist. Something had changed in his posture, flittering from nerves at being called into my office—interns were so beyond my radar this meeting was a joke—to agitated. He twisted to watch Sadie go, saw her peer back at me with a fleeting glance that spoke of her crush on me, and the next time he glanced my way, I saw his pique. Understood it. What stunned me was that I wasn’t mad…

About Serena
I’m a romance bookaholic and I won’t touch a book unless I know there’s a happy ending. This addiction is what made me craft stories that suit my voracious need for raunchy romance. I love twists and unexpected turns, and my novels all contain sexy guys, dark humor, and hot AF love scenes.
I write MF, Menage, and Reverse Harem (also known as Why Choose romance,) in both contemporary and paranormal. Some of my stories are darker than others, but I can promise you one thing, you will always get the happy ending your heart needs!
Lena I never meant to become the go-to P.R. girl for the biggest jerks in professional sports. Unfortunately, I built a reputation for turning douchebags into superstars, and now I’m stuck. When I’m assigned to work with a guy accused of hitting his girlfriend, enough is enough. I know all about men like Jase ‘The Wrangler’ Rawlins, and I have the emotional scars to prove it. Mouthy, conceited, and hot as f*ck, he’s used to getting his way. I want nothing to do with him, but my boss makes an offer I can’t refuse. My dreams are finally within reach, and the more I get to know Jase, the more I wonder if I’ve gotten him completely wrong. He may be bossy and infuriating, but he’s hiding a heart as massive as his ego. Can I let go of the past and trust the feelings growing between us when my career is on the line?
Jase Trouble is nothing new for an MMA bad boy like me, but this time I’m in too deep and can’t get out. At least, not without help. That’s where Lena LaFontaine comes in. All buttoned-up blouses and ass-hugging skirts, she’s a distraction I don’t need, but she’s also the only one who can make my problems go away. She wants to hate me. I’m not going to let that happen. I never expect the way I ache to taste her pouty lips and claim her for my own. My life is on the verge of imploding, and when it does, I’m not sure if I’ll emerge as a champion or be imprisoned for a crime I didn’t commit. I won’t drag her down with me, but when push comes to shove, I don’t know if I can give her up, either.
Fighter’s Heart is a standalone MMA romance with a cocky alpha hero and a sassy heroine who knows how to keep him in check. It has a HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.
Jase All the frustration I’ve worked off over the past two hours comes flooding back at the sight of Lena—furious expression, sassy walk, and all. Her cheeks are flushed with anger and her eyes may as well be shooting laser beams straight at me. Her lips move, but I don’t hear the words. My blood has redirected from my big head to my generously proportioned smaller one. Fuck, she’s hot when she’s mad. She thumps me in the chest, and I scarcely notice. Her fists are tiny. She could probably punch me in the nose and not even crack the bone. Her eyes narrow, and she gets up in my face—a hard ask when she’s several inches shorter than me. “Do you think this is funny?” she asks, jabbing me in the chest with her free hand. I glance down and see she’s holding a magazine. With a sinking sensation, I take it from her and hold it up so I can see the cover. It’s a photograph from yesterday, of me standing over Erin like a brute. The headline screams at me, and I show Gabe, then shove the magazine into Lena’s hands, sick to my stomach. I won’t read it. I already know it’s full of vitriolic bullshit, and I don’t even blame the reporter for spouting it. I handed the media a gold mine by going after Erin. I’ve made her the poster child for standing up in the face of domestic abuse, with me cast in the role of monster. Jesus. Fuck. Lena was right all along. This is serious. “There are others,” she says, in case I’m holding out any hope that the story has been picked up by a lone tabloid. Closing my eyes, I mutter a stream of curses, growing more creative with each one. “Hey, brother.” Gabe claps me on the shoulder, which nearly knocks me over since his forearms are covered by heavy kick pads. “You can get past this.” He turns to Lena. “You can fix this, right? That’s what he hired you for?” Lena releases a long, slow breath. I can sense her hesitation, and it fuels a desperation deep within me. I worked fucking hard to get to where I am. It’s not possible that a selfish girl with a taste for the spotlight could take it away so easily, is it? “Please.” I grab her free hand between both of mine even though she has a perfect manicure and my gloves are soaked with sweat and completely disgusting. “You’ve gotta try.” She stares at me, some of her hostility fading, and nibbles on her lower lip. Finally, an excruciatingly long moment later, she says, “You just made my job so much more difficult. I hope you understand that.” “I do.” “Trust me, Lena,” Gabe adds. “He may come across as a douche, but he’s not a stupid one. He knows he fucked up.” He shucks his pads and stands shoulder to shoulder with me, the both of us facing her down. This doesn’t seem to intimidate her as it might others. It fires her up. She flicks her sexy red hair over her shoulder and gives us a single, firm nod. “Well, okay then. Glad we know where we stand.” There’s a brief moment when I think she’s going to move on without rubbing salt in the wound. Then the moment passes. “For the record, I’ve met mushrooms with more forethought than you.” Should have known she wouldn’t let me off so easily. I suppose if she wants to compare me to fungi, at least it’s a tasty one. “If we’re going to do this, you need to be a whole lot more open with me. I want no-holds-barred access to your life, Jase. I ask a question, you answer it immediately and truthfully. I make a suggestion, you do everything within your power to make it happen. If you want to climb out of this hole you’ve dug, I need your complete and total commitment. Think you can manage that, fighter boy?” “That’s fighter man to you.” I can’t resist needling her, and her face screws up the way I knew it would. “But yeah, I’ll do what you say and I’ll accept any help I can get.” “Good.” Her lips purse, and she seems to have run out of steam. I can see her mentally switching from bulldozer mode to thinking mode, calculating our next steps, figuring out how to get ahead of this, and for the first time, I feel like maybe she’s on my side. Maybe she’s actually invested in me. The next question out of her mouth is one I don’t see coming. “Is there any truth to Erin’s story?” “No,” Gabe and I answer at the same time. “Okay,” she nods, accepting our reply at face value, and I can still see the information running through her mind and being processed. She has a shit poker face, but that’s beside the point. This woman is actually listening to what I have to say and taking it on board. Is she for real? Her belief in me—if that’s what it is—feels good. Like, unreasonably good. I want to grab her around the waist and twirl her in the air, or take her face between my palms and kiss her irresistible ruby lips. When another ten seconds pass without her saying anything snarky, I’m halfway tempted to strip her clothes off and bang her on the floor, audience be damned. Finally, she comes to a decision. “There are some things I need to take care of. I’ll be in touch with you later.” Her hand is still in my grasp, and I squeeze it. “Thanks.” My voice is raspy with emotion, and I cough to clear it. Goddamn it, I am not a pussy. She studies me, and I’m not sure what she sees, but she seems to like it. “You’re welcome, fighter man.” My lips quirk up. “You know what I think?” She tugs her hand away and places it on her hip. “Do I want to know?” Ah, there’s my mouthy girl. “I think you like me.” She starts to scowl, but I barrel on. “I think you care what happens to me.” “Do not,” she says, a deep blush traveling down to the neckline of her shirt. With a complexion like that, I bet her entire body blushes, and I want to tear her blouse in half to find out. “I care about keeping my career on track.” “Uh-huh.” I give her a cocky grin that I know will rile her more. “You tell yourself that, cutie pie.” She huffs. “You’re insufferable.” Then she whirls around and marches away, the curve of her butt bouncing with each step. When she’s gone, Gabe whistles under his breath. “Man, she’s something.” I punch him in the gut, hard enough to sting but not hurt. “Eyes to yourself. She’s not here for your viewing pleasure.” He guffaws. “That doesn’t stop you.” “I don’t need you pointing out my hypocrisy.” I stretch my legs and shake them, refusing to analyze why the thought of anyone else checking Lena out makes me want to wrap my arm around the asshole’s throat—friend or not. “Let’s get back to training.”
A. Rivers writes romance with strong heroes and heroines who kick butt and take names. She loves MMA fighters, cops, military men, bodyguards, and the protective guy next door who isn’t afraid to fight the odds for love.

The first time I saw Hamilton, he was balls deep in one of the bridesmaids at my mother’s wedding.
He was lethal. Handsome. Cruel. Twisted.
I was drawn to him like fists to glass. We had an angry sort of relationship. There was nothing kind about the broken man that stole my heart and crushed it in his fist. He was all sharp edges. One touch could ruin me. One kiss could end our happy little family.
When my mother married Joseph Beauregard, son of the governor of Connecticut, I never imagined I’d fall in love with my stepfather’s younger brother. I never imagined I’d uncover the truth about his family’s bloody legacy.
Hamilton escaped with scars to his name and a ruined reputation. And now? I wanted out, too. I guess the scandal of our relationship was the least of our family’s problems.

RELEASE BLITZ Title: Maverick Series: A Dark and Dirty Sinners’ MC #6 Author: Serena Akeroyd Genre: Dark & Dirty MC Romance Release Date: November 24, 2020 BLURB
Alessa (Ghost)
Maverick’s in love with a dead man buried at Arlington National Cemetery, where his heart might as well be buried too. My husband’s stuck in the past, lost in his fractured mind, and the last ten years are a blur to him, meaning I’m a blur to him. But I’m not a ghost. I’m a woman. I’m alive. I breathe. I hurt. Should I let go or hold on? My instinct is to let go, but I have family now. People who matter to me. A posse I’ll kill for. I’m no longer nothing, I’m something. I’m a Sinner. And I’ve found my ride and die… now I just have to get him to remember me. Impossible? I’ve beaten worse odds and survived. Game on, Maverick. Game on.
“Where’s Nic?” He kept on asking that, kept on demanding for this Nic who I didn’t know, had never even heard of, but his desperate tone hit my heart hard. If his desperation for a stranger didn’t take me aback, then my disabled husband, a man who lived in a wheelchair, stunned me further by getting to his feet, standing on them, just as Link and Steel, two of his MC brothers, as well as a nurse, made an appearance in the room. They tried to restrain him after they got him back into bed, yet the more they tried to keep him there, the more anguished he was. The more desolate. I had never heard him mention Nic before, but he was desperate to get to him—whoever he was. His brothers didn’t appear to know who this Nic was either. “We’ll find out who Nic is,” Link vowed, his face sweaty with exertion as both he and Steel worked hard to keep him contained on the bed. His words were the passcode that triggered a cessation of Maverick’s struggling. As if they’d flicked a light switch, he stopped. Turned still. “Until then,” Steel told him, “Ghost is here.” Mav stared up at him. “Who’s Ghost?” I saw Link pass me a guilty look, but I didn’t stick around to find out how else he could break my heart. I loved him. What a time to realize it.

A Bridge Between Us, an all-new standalone small-town romance from USA Today bestselling author K.K. Allen is available now!
I had always known he wasn’t mine to keep, but that didn’t change the way I loved him—quietly, gently, and from afar.
As the seasons changed, the corn stalks grew strong, and the grapevines flourished with hope. But none of it mattered, not when the soil at our feet bound us in a century-old rivalry. We’d never even had a chance.
They said life flashed before your eyes on the way to death, but on that night, after my final scream burst from my throat and my world started to fade to black, I only thought of him. Of his sweet chocolate eyes, his desperately cautious stare, and his silence that carried more weight than gold.
I should have died that night. Instead, I crossed the moonlit bridge and never returned. I let rivalry win. If only that had been enough to keep us all safe. If only we didn’t have a bridge between us.
She starts to move past me toward the record player when something strong and instinctual—something that feels like fate—gives me a hard punch in the chest. I grab her hand and pull her back to me. Surprised, she stumbles a little, and her palms break her fall on my chest. When she recovers, she meets my gaze, and I don’t try to interpret it. Instead, I move her arms around my neck, wrap mine around her waist, and start to move.
Her eyes narrow, but they have a glimmer in them. “Oh, so now you want to dance.”
I cringe a little. “I don’t think you can call this dancing. And to be fair, I don’t think you can call what you were doing dancing either.”
Not even her harsh glare can hide the amusement she finds at my joke. She purses her lips to hold back her laugh then swats at my chest before moving her hand back around my neck. “At least I was having fun.”
“Oh, I was having fun watching you. Besides, you didn’t seem to have a problem with my moves at prom.”
Her cheeks redden, and when my gaze slips down to her neck, I find that part of her skin is changing color too. She’s flushed all over, and I can’t help but get excited that I’m doing that to her.
“Yeah, well, you also bribed me with a dozen pink roses, a tent, and a pretty necklace, so we probably shouldn’t compare experiences.”
At the mention of her necklace, my gaze locks on her throat, even though I already know it isn’t there. When she picked me up from the jail, she wasn’t wearing it then either. The disappointment weighed heavily, and as much as I want to ask her where it is, I choose not to go there. I had no right to question it back then, and I still don’t. “Just give me a few minutes, and I can rectify all that.”
She smiles gently back at me, and the mood shifts from playful to serious. “You would, wouldn’t you?”
My heart pounds so hard that I can feel it between my ears. I cup her neck while slowly moving a finger across her cheek, and I glance at her lips before locking on her eyes. “I would do anything for you, Camila. That hasn’t changed, and it never will.”
She blinks, as if she can’t believe me. I drop my forehead to hers, and when her eyelids flutter closed as a shaky breath rushes past her lips, I know she feels the same.
“How does this feel so normal?” Her words are just a whisper. “I close my eyes, and it’s like I’m right where I’m supposed to be.” She shakes her head. “I don’t understand.”
“What’s to understand? Our roots are deep, just like your vines, which adapt to every season. No matter the harsh weather, there’s always new growth.”
“Are you comparing our relationship to the life of a grape?”
The teasing in her voice makes me chuckle. “No. I’m comparing us to a whole damn vineyard. We’re the root.” I lean in, brush her lips with mine, and whisper, “You and me, Wild One.”
A shiver racks her entire body, and I tighten my hold around her, as if it could help. The way she’s engulfed in my arms brings me the most comfort I’ve felt in years. Camila’s right. This feels so normal and natural, like we were always meant to fit.
I brush my lips against hers again, almost expecting her to pull away and tell me it’s too soon or too late. Either one of those responses would be understandable. But when her fingernails dig into my back, I don’t ignore the message. I mold my mouth to hers and kiss her hard.
Her firm lips respond to mine immediately, and she steals every bit of my air as she breathes me in. I explore the taste and feel of her like it’s the very first time. In a way, that’s exactly what this is. It’s been ten years since our lips last touched, and though I’ve dreamed about it, nothing could have prepared me for the real feeling of our mouths moving as one, our breaths tangling with heat and desire, or our hands wandering as our mouths keep a slow and steady pace. The kiss is so consuming and powerful that I feel an awakening within me. And when she parts my mouth with hers and sweeps her tongue over mine, a growl rumbles through me.

RELEASE BLITZ Title: Christmasly Obedient Series: Obedient #4 Author: Julia Kent Genre: Holiday Romantic Comedy Release Date: November 24, 2020 BLURB
Tree picking in glorious, downeast Maine. Snow. Santa. Roaring fires, people you love, and a good life. What more could a guy want?
Or, rather, two guys?
Mike and Jeremy have a quiet life with Lydia, on her parents’ family campground in Verily, Maine. It’s a little boring, sure, but after the craziness of their old lives, what’s wrong with boring?
Besides, Jeremy and Mike find Lydia anything but.
As Christmas looms, and an unexpected oops leaves them all in a state of uncertainty, they have to ask themselves: is it time to let life be a little less boring?
And what’s inside that slim box Lydia’s giving them both on Christmas morning?
Christmasly Obedient is a new holiday book in Julia Kent’s USA Today bestselling Obedient series.
Jeremy pulled off his coat and slid his arms around Lydia, burying his nose in her neck. The strange sense of being perched on the edge of the world, obscured in white and disconnected from everything abated with each breath, the tick-tock of the mantel clock tracking a different kind of time. “You’re wet!” Lydia squealed. “And stubbly!” He didn’t stop. Her squirming turned to a tense freeze, then a slow melt in his arms. She stayed in place, he knew, because she sensed his need. That was love. Real love. Mike walked into Jeremy’s line of vision, carrying two open beers, one ready to hand to Jeremy. Ice-blue eyes met his, powerful and knowing. Something deeper than relief took over Jeremy’s cells as he stood there, Lydia touching him, Mike in the same frame, too. His people. He had his people. That’s all he really needed. “Hey,” Lydia said softly in his ear. “What’s wrong?” Jeremy shook his head and just inhaled deeply. The change of plans was welcome. Christmas had come early to the small campground in Maine. He cradled Lydia’s face in his hands and kissed her, the taste of her tongue a tether, holding him in place, keeping him from tipping over the edge and into the pale, snowy abyss. As the kiss deepened, he felt Mike’s hand on his shoulder, heard the cackle of Madge’s ribald comment, smelled the heady scent of burning wood. And he was home. Really home.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 1.5 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 16 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French and German, with more titles releasing in 2017. From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men’s room toilet (and he isn’t a billionaire). She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where the toilet seat is never, ever, down.
Oh, Fudge, an all-new sexy and sweet small-town romance from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas is available now!
Paige Asher likes her men the way she likes her coffee: hot, slightly sweet, and only to-go.
The hot friend-of-a-friend she had a scorching single night with was just about perfect–tall, rugged, with a sexy drawl…and on the road out of town by six a.m. the next morning. Long before her mom could start picking out wedding flowers.
But now she can’t stop thinking about the Louisiana boy. His texts make her smile and she suddenly has a craving for gumbo all the time…hot and spicy and far from home.
Mitch Landry had no idea Iowa would be so hospitable to a visitor. He knew the Midwest had a reputation for friendliness but his welcome gift–a sassy, sweet blond who is as no-strings-attached as he is–was a dream come true six months ago.
But why is he still texting her? And why did he jump at the chance to come back to Iowa? And why is he so annoyed by her obvious phobia to commitment this time around? And why is he pretty sure leaving Paige this time is going to be one of the hardest things he’s ever done?
Damn, is this what falling in love feels like?
Oh, fu…fudge.
* a cross-over between the Hot Cakes series and Boys of the Bayou series
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Erin Nicholas has been writing romances almost as long as she’s been reading them. To date, she’s written over thirty sexy, contemporary novels that have been described as “toe-curling,” “enchanting,” “steamy,” and “fun.” She adores reluctant heroes, imperfect heroines, and happily ever afters. Erin lives in the Midwest, where she enjoys spending time with her husband (who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books), her kids (who will never read the sex scenes in her books), and her family and friends (who claim to be “shocked” by the sex scenes in her books).

Title: Head Over Heels for the Holidays
Author: Jennifer Bernard
Genre: Holiday Romance
About Head Over Heels for the Holidays:
Is he the cure for her holiday heartbreak?
Ever since her ex-boyfriend dumped her on Christmas Eve, the holiday season has been tough for Maya Badger—especially since Lost Harbor, Alaska, pulls out all the stops for the holidays. Sure, she could focus on her police work and her father’s recovery from heart surgery. But when her dad’s home healthcare nurse turns out to be her childhood buddy—all grown up and the stuff of her naughtiest fantasies—she may have a solution to her holiday blues. After all, Jay-Jay always was the perfect playmate!
Rune Larsen hasn’t been skinny little Jay-Jay in a long time…not since he and his teen sister were forced to change their names to avoid Cara’s stalker. Taking a job in tiny, remote Lost Harbor seems like the perfect way to stay one step ahead of danger. The fact that his childhood friend is the town police chief is a bonus. Not to mention the fact that Maya has grown into a beautiful bronze goddess. Hell, even her serious cop side is a turn-on…though he’s up for the challenge of bringing some fun back into her life.
In fact, if they can navigate a stalker, a runaway yak, eleventy-billion holiday parties and a criminal investigation into the dark side of Lost Souls Wilderness, Rune just may convince Maya to fall head over heels for the holidays…and beyond.
Without thinking too hard about it, Maya rose to her feet and grabbed Rune by the collar of his jacket, pulling him close. “How about a fake kiss?” she asked quickly. “Just make it look good from a distance.”
He flashed her a pirate grin and cupped her face with his free hand. “My pleasure. I’m an excellent fake kisser.”
“Come on, hurry.”
He bent his head over hers, but he still didn’t go for the kiss. “You can’t hurry a fake kiss, or it will look fake. We’re flirting, we’re completely caught up in each other, we don’t even care that we’re drifting on the open ocean. Keep looking at me, just like that except without the ‘what the hell are you talking about’ expression.”
She smothered a laugh and relaxed her face into a dazzled smile. As if Rune was the most wonderful thing in the world, better than chocolate and bubble baths combined.
He blinked, as if she’d momentarily thrown him off his game with her smile. A personal triumph, she figured.
“That’s…good,” he said, a little more strained than before.
For a fake kiss, he sure was overthinking it. They needed to get this thing done.
She took command and wrapped her hand around the back of his neck. Tugging him down, she offered him her mouth. “Let’s do this,” she hissed. “Tick-tock.”
Honestly, why did she always have to be the one with any common sense? If those men onshore had binoculars, they were already watching. To throw them off, she only had a few moments. If the men thought they’d been busted, they might rework their entire comms system. The lead would be worthless. The source would be burned. The case back to square one.
And then all thoughts of logic flew from her mind as Rune claimed her lips with a kiss that sent shock waves through her system. Warmth…sizzle…sunshine…all of it swirled together in a rush of brilliant pleasure. His lips were firm and generous at the same time, as if they were inviting her into his world. A world where she would be queen and he would be whatever she needed.
A kind of exhilaration swept through her and she parted her lips for more. He gave it to her, sweeping his tongue inside the cave of her mouth, where every surface tingled and warmed at his touch.
Fake kiss, my ass.
This was the real thing and she couldn’t get enough of it. She drank him in as if she’d been starving for this, pining for it. Her mind—always working, always on guard—let go like an anchor releasing her to drift on the current. She lost herself in the flood of pure physical joy.
She staggered as the boat got slammed with a supersized wave. Rune held her tight so she didn’t lose her balance. “I need to steer this thing,” he murmured against her lips before turning back to the helm.
“Yes. Yeah. Of course.” She ran her tongue across her lips, tasting salt from the spray and sweet from Rune. She plopped down onto the bench as he wrestled with the wheel. Picking up her binoculars, she focused on the spot where the two men had been.
They were gone—or maybe her angle had changed and she couldn’t see them anymore.
She dropped her glasses and sighed. Hopefully she hadn’t messed anything up by making them suspicious. “Go ahead and pick up speed. Let’s keep going toward Mount Sage for a bit.”
“Roger that.”
Was his voice a little gruffer than usual? Was it the effect of the salt in the air?
He put the boat in gear and they cruised farther into the bay. She watched the little cove as it receded into the distance, swallowed up by the greater landscape of forests and rugged outcroppings.
What now? How to handle this? She and Rune had kissed, and there was no way she could forget about it the way she had when she was a kid.
Maybe never mention it again?
Or maybe do it again?
The tempting thought hovered out there like the promise of an ice cream sundae after a long week. Treat yo-self, she could imagine her cousin Reecie in Anchorage saying. Go for it, Kate would urge. I knew it, Jessica would say.
“Tell me when you’re ready to head back,” Rune said. “It’s your call.” His voice had returned to normal. She wondered what he was thinking about this situation. Then again, he didn’t overthink things like she did. He probably wasn’t worried about it at all. He probably kissed people all the time—all those non-girlfriend “girls” he’d talked about.
“I will,” she told him. “Give it a few more minutes.”
“The other thing is your call too,” Rune said softly, his attention still on the choppy water ahead.
“What are you talking about?”
“I know you’re trying to decide what to do about that kiss. I can see your wheels spinning from here.”
“I’m not—okay, I am. I didn’t intend for it to be like that.”
“It’s my fault.” His voice shifted to a jaunty cheerfulness. “My pride was hurt that you forgot the first kiss. I was aiming for ‘best kiss.’ One that you wouldn’t forget. That’s all.”
It wasn’t all. She could hear it in his voice. It was so much more complicated than that. Friendship, attraction, sizzle…all that, lined up against her better judgment. But even so, it touched her that he was trying to make the whole thing easier for her.
“Best kiss? Isn’t that a little arrogant?” She adopted a teasing tone to match his.
“Second best? Third? Just tell me it wasn’t the worst. Gotta start somewhere.”
“It wasn’t the worst.”
That was as far as she could go right now.
And maybe it was the best. Because right at this moment, she couldn’t think of any other specific kiss that might compete with it.

Warm my heart with this best friends to lovers story. It gave me all the fuzzy feelings. This book was perfection!!
Just when I thought we were done with the “White House” boys, we are back and better than ever!! Tanner and Sydney are absolutely the most adorable couple Rebecca Jenshak has written to date.
I don’t know if this story is so wonderful because this relationship has had time to brew and bake properly or if Tanner and Sydney, in particular, just clicked off every single box on the YES, YES, YES couple goal list, but The Pass was amazing from the very first page until the very last one.
Tanner and Sydney had 100% chemistry, 100% friendship, and 100% everything clicking storyline wise. The words seemed to flow off the page and their rhythm was pure magic. The Pass, right here, is a reason why I love reading Rebecca’s books, it was effortless.
From the first time Tanner and Sydney met they were instantly attracted to one another, but due to a miscommunication, they each friendzoned the other. Here we are two years later and while their friendship is stronger than ever, they are at a crossroads where they ask the question; what if they could be more? What would have happened if they had crossed that friendship line two years prior? What if, what if, what if?
Spending the summer together they ask one another these questions, taking a look inside pandora’s box, but what happens when you cross the friendzone line? Once you unpack the box, things never go back in that box quite the same so are they ready?
Join these two friends on their journey and enjoy this amazing ride.
Synopsis:
I’ve been in love with her for two years.
The first time around, I screwed things up. I hesitated and the moment was gone.
I passed when I shouldn’t have.
Not a total loss. I gained a best friend instead of whatever we might have been.
Sydney is hands down the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I’ll do anything to keep her in my life. Even bury my feelings deep inside.
But one hot summer together at the lake filled with lots of teeny-tiny bikinis and I’m ready to risk it all for a second chance.
It’s time to take my shot.
