I have been waiting for the continuation of Hunter and Riley for a year and it the wait was SO worth it!!

Sam Mariano gives us a meaty story after a year long wait for these two lovers. Part one was introduced in a bully anthology just about a year ago and left me, along with so many others, salivating for more. Don’t worry, part one is contained in this book so you will not miss anything and it’s a wonderful refresher for those of us who read it as well.

Hunter and Riley are just fourteen in the first part of the story and even though they have been attending school together for years, it takes a chance meeting at a bridge, walking home from school, for them to finally interact. They build a secret friendship that unfortunately goes bad and four years later we come back into their lives at part two.

Hunter and Riley both have lingering ghosts from the fallout four years prior. They are both strong willed and very caring which proves at times more harmful at overcoming any ramifications of their past. There are so many questions as they continue to try and move beyond those ghosts and move beyond the deep hurt. Will they ever be able to truly heal?

The Boy on the Bridge is super steamy and full of emotion. It’s also packed with great quirks and inside jokes as this couple as grown and changed with each other over time. Their steadfast personalities are both to be revered and sometimes…well, you just want to smack both of them. Riley is super protective of the weak and Hunter is loyal to a fault until he gets burned. They each have their one exception which is each other. Hunter will never let her go and Riley knows Hunter isn’t weak, but she can’t seem to stop protecting him.

The book will drop you right back into high school. Homecoming, clubs, boyfriends, mean girls, all of that and more. It is everything that I love about reading this genre and it was a wonderful journey that I’m so glad I took and the year in the making was well worth it!

Synopsis:
