Amazing! I love this new addition to the Devilbend Dynasty!

I have been hooked on Kaydences books from the beginning, but each one gets better and better! Like You Should is dripping with suspense and lots of slow burning heat, I loved everything about this book!

Easton and Harlow have been sucked into a sick plot that neither of them know how to get out of. Originally working alone to pull off jobs for someone calling themselves Ocean1K. They both have been blackmailed if they didn’t go through with whatever task has been asked of them. Things turn up a notch when both Easton and Harlow end up called to break and enter a home together after which their lives are never quite the same.

Neither Harlow or Easton had any idea that anyone else would be in the other’s shoes and to make matters worse, Easton is a teacher at Harlow’s school, he could turn her in or visa versa. Luckily they both see their predicament and decide to work together to bring down Ocean1K before things escalate even more, but in that decision they never thought feelings would come into play, especially considering their student/teacher status. Their entire world is messed up enough, but how do you stop the heart from getting involved when it knows what it wants?

Harlow was an amazing heroine, considering she had Donna and Mena to live up to. I really respected the heck out of her. Harlow is the girl that everyone likes; the easy going friend to other guys, all the girls, she is just the everyday girl that makes it easy to gravitate towards. I loved this easy nature about her and that she brought that easiness out in Easton as well. A man who seemed kind of grouchy to everyone else. She’s a really good fit to a man that didn’t seem comfortable in his own skin.

This entire story is full of turns and twists and lots of steamy heat, but I do want to throw it out there, just in case someone has trouble with the teacher/student boundary – Easton and Harlow stir the chemistry like nothing else, but they are both very aware of the ramifications of what could happen to either one of them should borders be crossed. Kaydence doesn’t jump into this subject without thinking through every detail and I love how she went about it, this is what makes her books AMAZING!! That’s all I’m going to say so there are no spoilers…so please enjoy!

One last thing – so many excellent secondary characters and I really hope she continues writing in this world for many more books to come.

Each one of their cars is backed in, side by side, in the front row. They’re all the same color–flat black with blacked-out windows and wheels to match–intimidating just like them. All four gather around Ryan Scout’s Bugatti Chiron. Girls crowd around them as though they’re all members of a rock band, and they have to suck their dicks to get backstage. Perspective and Perception at any moment in time can mean one thing to one person and everything to another. Start A Fire revolves around Grace, a girl grieving the loss of her father, and Bash, a boy obsessed with Grace. As the story progresses both Grace and Bash have moments where their original moments of perception change as they gain perspective on each other.

While Grace originally lived in Savage River, she was a very different person before she moved away. Now she’s back and after living the past two years watching her father wither away she doesn’t have the same perspective on life that she did when everything was fake and life was rose colored.

While Grace has a different perspective on life, no longer interested in running with the popular crowd or cheerleading, she just wants to graduate and hopefully begin a life in art. She never once expected to catch the attention of the scary, psycho from her math class named Bash, who not only had her in his sights, but was everywhere she turned. As much as she wants to put him in a box of just a high school bully, Bash has layers that reveal he’s so much more.

We get this very intense, bad boy image of Bash when we first meet him, but as the story unfolds, there is a lot more to the twisted boy than originally meets the eye. Start A Fire took several unexpected twists, but they all were on the path that helped changed the characters perspective of one another. I really enjoyed this aspect of the story more than I ever expected.

Bash is intense, a bit bullyish, but more on the obsessive side. With him there is this underlying – what is his motivation? – that I kept trying to pin down, but never could. The story is only told from Grace’s POV so we never get that internal dialogue from Bash, which makes the story exciting. In turn, I had that obsessive need to know why he was so into her and made Start A Fire a complete page turner.

Gabe, Bash’s friend, I’m really hoping gets his own book. I love his secondary character. He’s outrageous, outlandish, and completely messed up. Any girl that can tame him is a total gem and I’m so on board for that.

Synopsis:

I have my senior year planned: keep my head down, don’t make any waves, and get the diploma. I’ve done the popularity thing at Savage River High, but after two years away, I have no interest in reclaiming my crown.

The last time I put myself in the spotlight, I was left in shambles.

Unfortunately, my carefully laid plans go to hell when I grab the attention of dark, forbidding, and brutally hot Sebastian Vega. He looks at me like he wants to kill my puppy or eat me alive. Quite possibly both.

Sebastian is everywhere I go, and he’s decided I’m the twisted game he wants to play, whether I’m a willing participant or not.

The question is…what will I have to lose in order to win?
