Dark, dubious, and with a splash of mystery that kept those pages turning! I love how Rina mixes intensely dark moments while still pulling at emotional heartstrings. She is the queen at pushing boundaries and it will bring me back to her books time and again.

Sebastian and Naomi might be one of the most twisted couples I’ve ever read, but I love that they get one another from the very beginning. Naomi and Sebastian see the darkness that lives under the masks they wear around everyone else and that darkness calls to the other. While their relationship begins on a bet it gets super intense rather quickly and the bet becomes almost background noise, along with their families. The intensely heated scenes are completely consensual, passionate, and while they are dark, it made me happy that these two young people found their kink together at such a young age. There is also a mystery that winds through the entire story that ends on a huge cliffhanger, I can hardly wait to see how that plays out in the next book!

Lastly, I want to address that while Rina does warn that this book is dark, I’ll be redundant and say that it’s extra dark. However, I do hope that readers don’t kink shame Rina for writing a couple that pushes boundaries. What Sebastian and Naomi do and how they do it is intrinsic to the story, but take those triggers seriously if extra dark isn’t in your wheelhouse. Now, me, I love a good story and Rina Kent is an amazing writer. Red Thorns is just the first part of this dark tale and I’m looking forward to what’s coming next.

So many good stories with insanely fantastic authors all jammed packed into one spot…this anthology is EPIC!!

Every story has a baby that is a product spent from a night of passion, which isn’t the surprise in each tale, no, what makes this anthology fun is to jump into each story and find out how each couple arrives with a sweet bundle of bliss. I loved how the actual baby surprise wasn’t the spoiler in each tale, but how the couple meets, or the timeline of their second chance romance arrives, or even the job each person holds. I truly loved this anthology and there isn’t a bad story in this entire book.
