Wine, friends, fake dating, and a large family round out this Wright book.

This is a book filled with interconnecting storylines that took two friends on several fake dates while they slowly fell in love.

Julian has always found Jennifer attractive, but never acted on it for several reasons, a big one is that he had a long term girlfriend, who is a bit of snobby witch, but now they are both free and he finds himself in the perfect situation to finally make his move.

Jennifer has had a crush on Julian since he moved to town, but the timing between them has never worked out, but when the opportunity arises for Julian to accompany her home for a family event and she can return the favor for a gala, their friendly status elevates to fake dating and then to more as “benefits” soon become involved, things soon get complicated.

I’ve loved reading K.A. Linde before and she’s bewitched me in the past, however I’m not sure if it was this story, or the chemistry between the characters or what exactly as this story didn’t connect right away with me. It was pleasant and I enjoyed all the characters, but I didn’t get that wow factor right out of the gate. This couple was slow to warm for being friends and having a history, but overall the story was a 4.5 read.

Ovary-explosion overload!! Rider Kingston and all the guys who live at the house called “Stallion Station” made me swoon.

I loved the chemistry between Rider and Gabby right from the beginning. These two have a love-hate history dating back to freshman year and this book begins at the beginning of senior year so the tension is strong and it’s completely delicious.

We get a pretty good look at both of their backgrounds and what makes them tick before the adorable baby, Poppy, is introduced and this little cutie only enhances what is already a fun and engaging story.

Gabby is a force of nature and I love her organizational skills. While she constantly feels alone, she knows she does it to herself given how she grew up, however she doesn’t sit around and feel sorry for herself. Her spirit and fight is something to admire and I think it’s also what drives Rider to her side over and over again.

Rider is also a powerhouse of drive, he isn’t the captain of the football team by being a slouch. His entire life has been focused on doing better and making his goals a reality. He doesn’t have time for distractions, but when a one night mistake lands on his doorstep his future suddenly looks a little different. He also doesn’t sit around feeling sorry for himself, he’s a take charge guy, but a little help from his hot neighbor certainly doesn’t hurt.

Every guy who lives across the street from Gabby is pretty darn great, mostly in the way that each one would be terrific in their own story (crossing my fingers that it becomes a reality). It’s a house full of football guys, but they all melt for the sweet baby who ends up on their doorstep. Gabby takes charge and whips them into shape which is hilarious and super sweet all wrapped up in an engaging story with lots of emotional and steamy moments.

This new world, although with some interconnected moments to Lex’s past works, was a wonderful beginning with fantastic characters. I loved the trope, the story, the angst, absolutely everything was great.

Oh, these Dunn men…sweet and dark at the same time, like a decadent dessert.

In this second half of an explosive duet, Luca finally pulls his head out of the anger fog he’s been living in and now directs it at the appropriate person and Peyton actually get the best of both Luca’s; the sweet Luca she grew up with and fell in love with, but also that dark Luca that still remains inside him and unleashes whenever his beast comes out.

Peyton has a lot to deal with in this second book. She already had a lot of emotional baggage coming from the first book, but this second half really shows how strong this girl is. She is bombarded left and right and a lesser person would break, but Peyton keeps going. Given Luca’s history and potential future, Peyton proves over and over that she is actually a perfect match for him, but he has a huge valley to cross before she would begin to forgive him.

Lastly, Leon…Luca’s twin brother…just like in Letty and Kane’s story, we get just enough to clammer for more and boy am I wanting more. There is a big mystery about this man and I can hardly wait to dig more into his background, plus I need to have a moment to scream (AAAHHHH) because Leon is into redheads…I officially nominate myself to be a part of his redhead fantasies.

Don’t miss this dark romance where the fine line of hate and love, the past and present all come together in an explosive story.
