Blog Tour – Wild Chance by Mari Carr

Can he make this moment last a lifetime?

Wild Chance, an all-new moving and emotional friends-to-lovers standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Mari Carr is available now!

It’s been three years since Padraig Collins lost the love of his life, Mia, and since then, he’s been sleepwalking his way through each day, focusing only on work and family, while hanging out with his best friend, Emmy. He’s determined to make that enough, not ready or willing to take a chance on loving and losing again.

The sum equivalent of Emmy’s experience with relationships is contained within the pages of the romance novels she writes while sitting at the end of the bar at Pat’s Pub. That is if she doesn’t count the secret crush she’s been harboring for Padraig since the first day she laid eyes on him. Unfortunately for her, Paddy’s heart still belongs to Mia.

Two tragedies later, Padraig finds himself reaching out to Emmy, only to discover she’s no longer there. And it will take the combined romantic efforts of the entire Collins’ family to help him win the heart of his best friend…and his second chance at happily ever after.

She tried to break the kiss, needing air, needing answers, but Padraig tightened his hold.

“Not yet,” he murmured against her lips. He was gentling his kiss, but he wasn’t letting her go.

“Paddy,” she whispered.

He shook his head. “No,” he insisted again. “Not yet. I’m not done.”

She jerked slightly, then shivered when she felt him pull her blouse free of her jeans, slipping his hands underneath, his fingers stroking the bare skin at her waist. Her pussy clenched in response. Actually, everything clenched in response.

“God,” she breathed, when his hands shifted north, engulfing her breasts. He pinched her nipples, more roughly than she would have expected, the pain setting off some sort of sensual current that had her rolling her hips against him.

Why were they wearing so many clothes? Because suddenly, all she could picture was him stripping her blouse and bra off, dragging her jeans down, and taking her against the shelves.

Oh my God. They were in the pub. His entire family was just outside this storage closet.

Had he locked the door?

Was there a lock on the door?

She pushed against him more firmly this time. If she didn’t stop him now, she was going to spontaneously combust. “Paddy, please.”

He relinquished her lips, his forehead pressed against hers.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Kissing you.”

“Practice kissing?”

He scowled. “No!”

She blew out an exasperated breath. “Then what?”

“I didn’t like seeing you with Joe Moretti.”

Emmy frowned. “Is this an overprotective thing? Or…” She wouldn’t let herself ask if he was jealous. Her self-preservation genes were finally kicking in. She’d been wearing her heart on her sleeve for too long and her pride was tired of taking a beating.

“No. Not overprotective,” he said, placing one soft kiss on her lips. Then another. His sweet kisses were as deadly to her libido—and her heart—as his hungry ones.

“Then what?” she prompted, praying he’d say the word her heart longed to hear, the one that would mean he felt something for her stronger than friendship.

And then…she got her wish.

“I was jealous, Em. I’ve been seeing red ever since you walked in the pub with him. Spent the last couple of hours fighting the need to walk over and punch the guy’s lights out.”

She slowly shook her head. “But you said—”

“That kiss last week wasn’t practice, and it wasn’t me reaching out to you because I was sad about Mia. And I want you to forget everything I said on Christmas Eve because I was wrong. I was lying to myself and you. I can’t be just friends with you anymore, Emmy.”

Cover Reveal – Maverick by Anna Brooks

 Release Date: October 14

I was going to love her until my last breath, and she promised to do the same… but she lied.

Cricket McBride packed up without warning, ditching our small town and the life we were going to build together. She left me with tears in her eyes, a kiss on my cheek, and an empty heart that had done nothing but hardened over the years.

My life wasn’t what I thought it would be, but I’d long since accepted it for what it was. I was content with working on my family ranch and being the best father I could. And I was fine with that.

Or so I thought.

When Cricket returned, one look was all it took for me to admit I still cared, but it wasn’t until I saw the marks on her skin and the pain in her soul that I realized just how deep that love went. Because the same hands that held her tight also promised to protect her… and I never broke a promise.

Meet Anna Brooks

The first time Anna tried to read a romance novel, her hair caught on fire when she leaned over a candle to sneak a peek at her mom’s Harlequin. She thinks being hit on the head with a shirtless Fabio until the smoke cleared is what sparked the flame for her love of romance.

Anna was born in Wisconsin, but currently lives in Texas with her husband and two boys.

She writes sexy romance that always has a happy ending and loves bringing characters back for cameos. Less than six degrees of separation connects any of her novels.

When she’s not writing or reading, she’s watching reruns of her favorite romcoms, talking to her dog and cat like they’re human, eating carbs, or practicing hand lettering.

She loves to hear from readers and can be found on social media as @annabrooksauth everywhere.

Brutally beautiful and savagely heartless, his only plan was to ruin everything I loved.
But dares were made, and even though I had no business saying yes, I found myself in trouble and forced to work with my rival to get us out of it.

Sinless. Stunning. Damaged. Tempting. Allie Taylor had been the girl I hated for as long as I could remember.
And now she loathed me just as much.
It didn’t matter that I betrayed her to save her.
Completely devastated and infuriated by my dishonesty, she had no intentions of ever trusting me again.
Her trust was shattered, her hate raging on with each second. She would never look at me the same again.
Our past was full of pain and lies that could never be forgotten.
I knew what I did was irreparable, but I refused to let her walk away without another chance.
I should have left things in the past.
I didn’t.
I couldn’t.
I won’t.
I needed her. Even if it cost me everything.

Review – What We May Be by Layla Reyne

What We May Be
(A standalone)

Publication Date: August 16, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Second Chance/MMF-Menage/Thriller/Crime-Mystery Romance

Author: Layla Reyne

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

I love cross-genre reading, especially cross-genre reading that is done well. What We May Be is a crime mystery, MMF romance that kept me on the edge of my seat and completely blew my mind on the twist of an ending. A total, “I did not see that coming”, flew out of my mouth which makes the best mystery books. Add in the sensual side of this already great plot and I was a total goner.

Trevor, Sean, and Charlotte live in a small, university town and while they all fell in love with one another back in college, Sean left shortly after devastating the other two. Trevor and Charlie remained best friends, but never took their relationship to the love affair it was without Sean in the mix. Sean now returns after a  decade gone to consult on a current murder case, but he only plans to stay in town for as long as the case takes. Trevor and Charlie are willing to have his help as long as it takes to catch the killer, but they can’t take the hurt of him leaving again. Lines are drawn, but slowly erased as things heat up both in the case and the past is revealed, but could it be too late to save what they could have had?

Every layer unfolds in the best thriller kind of way. Solving the case takes everyone’s talents and with a killer on the loose no one appears to be safe. I loved all the twisty bends and details added to make this suspenseful and emotional all at the same time.

Waaaaaay back in the day I was a mystery fanatic and this brought me back to a time when I devoured that genre, but those didn’t contain the romance aspect I am addicted to now. What We May Be contained both of those ingredients along with lots of tropes I really love in the reading world. This book is an excellent read, especially if you love reading thrilling books with spicy love scenes splashed in every so often.

What we were…

Sean found love once, with his college roommate, Trevor, and Trevor’s best friend, Charlotte.
The missing piece, Sean made it possible for Trevor and Charlotte to find love too.
But then Sean left and took the love with him.

What we are…

Now an FBI agent, Sean is back in town, ten years later, to investigate a murder.
A case that pits him against his ex-lovers—Charlotte, a local detective, and Trevor, a literature professor sucked into the Shakespearean mystery.
Everyone guards their hearts, but before long, desire sparks anew the feelings that burned hot a decade ago.
That still burn true.

What we may be…

Love is within their grasp again, but as the killer escalates, it’s more than just their hearts and futures on the line.
Sean, Charlotte, and Trevor will need to work together to solve the case.
If they can’t, lives will be lost and pieces of their love gone for good.
