Finding Prince Charming
(An interconnected standalone)

Publication Date: August 20, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Prince/Secret Baby/Second Chance Romance

Author: Nikki Ash

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

The queen of secret baby romance brings a princely tale to melt your heart.

Liam and Natalie have a whirlwind weekend that leads to a lifelong commitment, at least for Natalie since she doesn’t know where Liam’s from or even his last name. A weekend with a mysterious stranger is something she will never take back since it brought her the most precious gift she could ever ask for and the boost she needed to reach for her dream. This second chance romance has it all and I loved it.

I first read this story in a wonderful anthology, Knocked Up, which is jammed packed with secret baby stories. Finding Prince Charming was one of my favorite stories from that anthology and I’m so happy that it now has a gorgeous cover and even more readers can experience them.

Liam and Natalie’s tale is one that truly makes you believe in love, romance, and happily ever afters, plus Liam is one hot DILF and Natalie is such a strong mom. This is a story that has it all and contains all the wonderful feels.

Synopsis:

As a little girl, I dreamed of finding my own Prince Charming—just like in the story my mom used to read to me.

But as a woman who grew up living a life that was anything but a fairy tale, I never expected it to happen to me, and certainly not in the bordello I worked at in Las Vegas.

When our eyes locked, I knew, in another life, Liam could easily be my Prince Charming, but in my world, those kind of men didn’t exist.

He was determined to prove me wrong, though, and in one weekend, he not only showed me the world in a different light, but made me feel like a princess—before he disappeared without a trace.

After he walked away, I was determined to write my own happy ending—turns out the first chapter was becoming a single mom. Because that handsome prince…
He left me the most exquisite crown jewel, who’s now my entire world.

And while I might’ve given up on finding my Prince Charming, I’ll make sure my daughter has the fairy-tale life I never did.

*If you want to meet Natalie beforehand, you can find her in Bordello/Finding Beauty in the Darkness.*

Review – The Sinner by Emma Scott

The Sinner
(A standalone)

Publication Date: August 15, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Fake Relationship/Forbidden/Fantasy Romance

Author: Emma Scott

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
The Sinner tapped into all of my pleasure centers and allowed my fantasy freak flag to fly. Emma, girrrrlllll, this book was perfect!

Loving this book hardly begins to describe the immense joy I felt over jumping into this otherworldly story. I’m a huge nut for fantasy, paranormal, afterlife, futuristic, sci-fi, or anything else you want to lump in here under this genre, and The Sinner nestled right into this genre world that was written spectacularly.

Lucy Dennings stumbles upon a body in her parking lot and soon finds out that said body is attached to a 4000 year old demon. When she should walk away and leave him to his own devices, she decides to help him, finding herself more and more attached with each passing day . His request is to help him seek redemption in the next eleven days and he will help her gain the attention of the man she has been crushing on for the past two years. It seems reasonable, what is there to lose? After all why not trust a demon?

Casziel is a mystery thorough much of the story, which makes the pages turn. What is he hiding? Why did he with Lucy, a shy introvert? Plus the demon is 4000 years old! He is a wealth of knowledge, but he’s also a total grump. While Lucy wants to know everything, because…hello, I’d also want to know everything…he’s lived through so much, but Cas is an open book only up to a point, which is when Lucy start to get personal. Hello demon. However, as much as Cas’ demon personality should turn Lucy off, she never gives up on him.

As a lover of books that contain other worlds, fantastic creatures, immortal lives, and what would seem unrealistic goals…The Sinner is perfection in how it wove together from start to finish. History blended with fiction along with tall tales and spoken truths. There is no right or wrong in fantasy romance, probably why I love it so much. Everyone has a place and I love that no matter what your beliefs, it fits within this kind of tale.

Lucy and Casziel will pull you into their world and bring a feeling of comfort that is sort of hard to describe, but certainly one that is hard to leave.  The entire journey made my heart happy and Emma Scott has solidified a spot in my wheelhouse as a fantasy romance writer and I really look forward to returning and seeing what else she will create that I’m sure will be out of this world.

Synopsis:

Shy, introverted Lucy Dennings lives a quiet little life in New York City, working for a nonprofit and keeping to herself. Every afternoon, she goes home to her empty apartment and Edgar, her houseplant, and every night, she loses herself in the pages of her beloved romance novels. Her lonely heart seeks solace in tales of passionate, enduring, all-consuming love, but more and more, Lucy feels she’s not just reading for pleasure but searching for her a lost piece of herself in the pages. As if she once touched something beautiful but it’s been ripped away.

Until one day Lucy discovers a dead body in the alley behind her apartment. Even if it’s too late, her first instinct is to help.

Her second is to run.

Because the dead body isn’t so very dead, and suddenly, her little world isn’t so little but one in which dreams feel like memories, “inner demons” actually lurk in dark alleys, and a beautiful creature of darkness with amber eyes and wings like night might hold the key to what her heart has been aching for…if she doesn’t fall down the path of eternal damnation first.

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Emma Scott, comes an emotional paranormal love story of passion, sacrifice, and the soul-deep love of a lifetime…more than one.

Review – Wild Card by Ashley Munoz

Wild Card; Rake Forge University #1
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: August 12, 2021

Genre/Tropes: New Adult/Sports Romance

Author: Ashley Munoz

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Angsty love, twists and turns, a big gesture, AND a deep soul connection…sigh…Wild Card brought it all and it was perfect. Ashley Munoz wrote fantastic characters that pulled me in and made me fall in love. Wild Card is a winner!!

Mallory needs a fantastic story for her journalism class to get a chance at an internship and when an idea lands in her lap she finds it hard to refuse the opportunity of a lifetime, but how far is she willing to go to get her story?

Decker wants revenge on the man who has ruined his future, but to do so he has to take something Elias covets. How low is Decker willing to lower his moral table in order to get his revenge?

She needs a big story, he needs a revenge move, they both lie to get what they want, but will it end in disaster?

Wild Card is soooo incredibly good, the entire story is angsty and twisty and plotted to perfection. Both Mallory and Decker have their reasons for achieving their goals and while they are both remain steadfast in obtaining their goals even when their emotions get involved neither give up.  I love that Ashley didn’t allow either character to drop their personality traits or change completely just because they began to catch the feels, it kept the story cohesive especially with the unexpected ending, but it made my heart race up until the very end.

This is the first book in the Rake Forge University world and I can hardly wait to return to read more about the other players and friends.

Synopsis:

The game has rules for a reason…

This was it…I could see it in my editor’s eyes. This was the last straw. One more misstep and I was going to lose my coveted internship.

I decided right there in my room, lime-flavored tortilla chips in hand, that I would do whatever it took to write the story of the century.

And I had my target in sight—the undefeated Devil’s baseball team. They were RFU royalty, and completely untouchable.

Their parties were impossible to get into unless you were handpicked, and I was not.

Even still, I had a solid plan.

I would not get caught, definitely not seduced, and absolutely wouldn’t die.

That is until I was stopped and rendered totally speechless by a pair of mossy eyes.

He lured me in, close enough to feel the press of his mouth against my skin and the heat of his hands on my body. Undoubtedly, I was a sheep headed straight for the slaughter, which only proved true when he called my bluff.

With him holding all the cards for my future success, and in order to salvage what remained of my dream, I did the only thing I could.

I made a deal with a devil.
