Washed Away begins right away with mystery and intrigue and slowly builds into the suspense and passion.

A woman washes up on a beach in Panama covered in bullet holes and knife wounds and Dr. Liam King nurses her back to health, but this mysterious woman, upon waking, has no memory of how she arrived upon the shore nor her past or even her name.

Weeks go by until she finally has a recollection of her name or at least one that feels right, but her memory still reveals nothing about her past. Dr. King and Alexandra’s relationship is slow going at first until it finally erupts in a volcanic flame some in part to her healing and some in part to the underlying mystery of the story. However,  once these two give into the passion that’s been building between them it doesn’t stop and it’s hot, but their story is also more convoluted than just a lost memory.

Washed Away is a slower brewing story than Boldt’s last romantic thrillers, but I’d also say it’s filled with more passion and contains more intrigue and emotions as well. A 4.5 star read overall.
