I was hooked from the first line!

Gemma wants a baby and after she does a lot of roadbumping, but inspirational thinking, she comes to the conclusion that her brother’s best friend is the man who should provide the other half of the DNA to her baby. What’s not to love?

Told from Gemma’s POV, her entire life she’s been misdirected and heartbroken by love. As much as that has happened, she is still an optimist, mixed with a healthy dose of realist, when she comes to the decision to have a baby all on her own. She doesn’t need a prince charming to sweep her off her feet to have a family, she just needs what prince charming can provide to make that family happen.

Josh has been in her family’s lives for most of her life. He’s been there for most of their family functions tagging along as her brother’s best friend, so it could be why she thought of him first when the doctor asked who the donor would be. Now she just needed to ask him. That won’t be awkward, considering she hadn’t actually talked to him in a few years. Right?

Adorably sweet, full of inspiration, and moments of loss and love. It’s a great mix of a contemporary, romantic comedy.

This book is a slow burn, even though there is baby making involved. It’s also filled with Sarah’s brand of ridiculousness, and a bit of a love triangle just to help mix up Gemma’s life even more.

Cruel Lies is a mix of mafia, secret society, intrigue, forbidden love, dark secrets, dark moments, basically it had all my favorites mixed into one story. It’s an attention grabber from the very beginning and this is just first half of the duet.

Willow loses her entire family at a young age, but is burdened with a huge secret that tears apart the one relationship she holds dear, Caspian her best friend and first love. Her life ends up tailspinning and catapulting into unknowns she never saw coming, but to make matters worse, her ex-best friend isn’t done ruining her life.

Caspian is used to living under the rule of unrealistic expectations under his father’s unloving hand, but when his father specifically tells him to stay away from Willow, it’s like dangling the forbidden fruit before his eyes. Caspian may have missed his best friend for years, but when she begins at Raventhorn she becomes his forbidden obsession.

At first Caspian only wants Willow for the forbidden passion, but soon long hidden secrets come to light and the old Caspian he thought he’d buried comes out and he suddenly needs to protect the woman Willow has become.

She slams to a halt, turning to face me. “I would never deliberately deceive you. That’s not who I am.” Fire underscores her tone, and I like hearing it. 

“I didn’t mean it that way. I know who you are.” 

The saddest expression washes over her features. “If that was true, you wouldn’t be standing here with me now. You wouldn’t be spending time with me each day. You would run a mile if you realized exactly who I am.” 

I risk stepping a little closer. “I have known you long enough to know the kind of woman you are, Serena. I’d like to think you’ve known me long enough to know you could tell me anything, and it wouldn’t scare me away.” Reaching out slowly, I take her gloved hands in my bare ones. “I spend time with you because I enjoy it. I love a good redemption story and this a fantastic redemption story times three!!

Welcome back to the dark Morelli/Constantine world where Winston Constantine delivered retribution to three triplets; Scout, Sparrow, and Sully when they messed with his Ash.  This time around Webster has brilliantly whipped up a tale where these three men, who would have seemed beyond redemption, are the dark princes in their own twisted fairytale.

This tale is dark, and so fantastically fitting for the terror triplets. I loved diving into their minds, each man is different, but also similar, sharing a bond that only multiples share. There is also a sibling bond, the link where you love your brother, but also want to murder them. Even after everything they’ve been through, they are thicker than thieves, but this new job may just tear them apart.

Landry Croft is an heiress who’s basically been locked in her penthouse for the past six years, but when she’s finally released to attend college classes, their uncle sees this an opportunity to move in. The triplets are assigned to shadow her to get an inside advantage, using their identical faces to swap out time and get to know the Croft heiress and everything in her life.

Triple Threat is not only a fantastic title, it is how Sparrow, Sully, and Scout live their lives. They are relentless in everything they do in their lives. Where one lacks another picks up and the other watches their backs. Having three of them is a true force to be reckoned with. However, they are also possessive, jealous, and a bit psycho. This is a dangerous combination when dealing with a woman they all want. Can one woman truly work between the three of them?

This dark, disturbing book is soooo freaking good, I’m still sitting here in shock that I fell head over heels in love with characters that originally were so horrible I cheered for their destruction in Winston’s twisted tale. Now, I’m totally rooting for them and adore these terror triplets.

The relationship between Reid and Leona was electric from the beginning and meeting all of the new characters that will take up residence at STFU was fun and exciting. I feel that is always the hardest part when stepping into a brand new series, getting to know the new characters and setting up the world around them. Maya did a great job of exciting me about what’s to come while still keeping the plot moving on the primary storyline.

Both Reid and Leona faced a tough situation with Leona being the daughter of the university’s president and Reid being a member of the football team. I won’t sugercoat it by saying the STFU’s coach is anything but a giant dick. The coach doesn’t like anyone, especially the president, so when Reid and Leona venture down the path of a relationship, I just say…this book is ripe with tension.

I’m looking forward to more from this series, especially the next couple, it looks like an enemies to lovers full of heat and passion.

Each bond mate not only has his own unique power, but also his own personality when it comes to cuddling or talking with Ro. I like how they all uniquely bond with her and have their own individual time along with time together which is super hot.

The plot never slows, it’s quickly paced and you’d wonder how they ever have time to eat or sleep, but it does happen. Cuddling between the five of them would seem impossible, but they make it work and I love that I can visualize everything that Rowan is experiencing. It is only told through her POV, but having the story told this way only gives more suspense to the plot.

This entire series has been very well written and I can hardly wait for the continuation of this amazing series.

Between the title and the genre, Scared to Love was nothing like I was expecting. Instead it’s a love story that reached well beyond my expectations and I loved every moment of it.

Serena is a woman who has been emotionally and physically abused for years. While you can heal from the physical abuse, it’s not quite as easy to mend from the mental trauma. When Serena and her two children come to live with her sister and her brother-in-law, after her husband’s death, it may seem like the beginning of a new life, but Serena is at the bottom of a very dark well. Her mind is held hostage by the man who abused her for years and even though there is a wonderful, patient man waiting in the wings, Serena has a long road ahead of her before she can ever think of being with someone again.

Alessandro has watched Serena for years, as he’s been in Ben Mazzone’s employment for a long time. However, he didn’t know the abuse that Serena was experiencing at the hands of her husband or he would have killed him himself. Now that she’s a widow he knows better than to just sweep in and claim her, she’s skittish and healing and Alesso is a nothing if not a patient man.

Siobhan did not disappoint in writing a beautiful story about a second chance at romance when you are feeling broken and the man who can be patient, sweet and strong while you heal. Yes, Alesso is still a smart, calculating mafia man, he’s perfect for Rena and her children.

This book happens right alongside the other two books and then eventually moves into its own timeline, but Scared to love intersects the timelines of the other Mazzone books, so I would suggest reading the other two books in the series to help make sense of the secondary characters and how the plot lines up. Alesso and Rena have had a smoldering chemistry for years, which have been mentioned in the other two books, while Rena has been married and now a widow. This is now their story and we get the dark and inside look as to what those looks meant.

Everything that has been building within the mafia comes to a head and so many questions are answered. It’s the culmination to so much while this love story is emotional, healing, and beautiful all at once.

Synopsis:

The third and final book in the Mazzone Mafia series is coming December 29th.

I love Tia Louise books and I’ve been loving this Bayside series, but I admit, Tangled Up was harder to sink my teeth into than the other books in this amazing series.

While I love the premise of a second chance romance (since I’m a product of that in my own personal life, I honestly love this trope), this couple ran hot and cold and I wanted to shove their faces in what they didn’t want to admit so we could stay on the hot side of the story. There were a lot of great moments (don’t get me wrong) I just lost the spark in the in-between moments.

Beck and Carly were a teenage couple that ran into trouble back when they were in college. Beck went on to become a doctor and Carly is a criminal psychologist, both with amazing careers by the way, but neither have really moved on from their great loves (which happen to be each other). When they both are back in their hometown, for reasons, after seven years apart, it seems as if fate has brought them together to reconcile, but it takes a whole lot more than a little hot reconciliation to make up for what happened in the past.

Can these two make up for what they lost before they lose a chance at a future again?

A lot of this story takes place back in their hometown of Eden and there are a lot of new secondary characters that pop up in this small coastal town where Beck and Carly grew up that sound very interesting for future books. While this particular book didn’t hit home with me, I still adore Tia Louise and her writing and this interconnected series has been a huge win overall.

This kind of book makes it easy to fall in love with love, second chances, and romance in general.

Hudson and Sawyer are two single parents just living their lives, making their children happy, but without a love connection to anyone else. Long days and longer nights make for a lonely life, but when these two meet one another while on vacation, it’s like the stars aline and for the first time in a very long time that loneliness takes a back seat and they find a connection with each other.

While it’s easy to melt into the groove of being together while there are no responsibilities, that time is short and real life is coming in fast. They both have jobs, houses, their children to think about as the week comes closer to ending, so while the fantasy is nice, there is no way their time outside vacation can be anything but a beautiful memory.

Hudson’s loneliness is so palpitale and Nikki really gave him so much depth, both as a dad, and as a husband that was still living with survivor’s guilt. Sawyer is the first woman to draw him out of that lonely status, and she loves his kids as much as he does, which is just an added bonus.

Speaking of the children, both Hudson’s and Sawyers are truly adorable, especially the sweet girls who become best friends. There is something so endearing about innocent youth and how easily they give their love. If only adults could live their lives with such ease and without all the complications.

What Love Looks Like is the perfect novella to lose yourself in with the right amount of sweet, angst, and spice.

Josh moved to town with his dad when he was eight. Within days my mom warned me to stay away from him.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because he’s not the sort of boy that nice girls play with.”

“Why?” I asked again. I was in that “why” phase that all kids go through.

“Because I said so.”

Well.

My mom was right. I was a nice girl. She dressed me in pink poufy dresses and pigtails to prove it. But instead of listening to my mom I snuck out of the house and went and found Josh Lewenthal. I guess there’s a lesson there. Even when I was little I couldn’t take “because I said so” as an answer.

I found Josh kicking a ball in his backyard. He told me the reason nice girls couldn’t play with him was because he knew how girls got babies in their bellies. To prove it, he smacked a kiss on my mouth. I was terrified for weeks that I was going to blow up like a balloon and pop out a baby. After a month I realized that Josh Lewenthal was full of crap and that my mom had been right.

But that didn’t stop me from idolizing him. My brother Dylan and Josh became best friends. And like little sisters around the world I wanted to do everything they did and be everywhere they were.

When I was sixteen my big sister Leah came home from college for Christmas break. Within days she told me to stop ogling Josh.

“Why?” I asked. I was still in the “why” phase.

“Because if he catches you looking he’ll steal your underwear.”

I didn’t know what she meant. “Why?”

“Because he collects underwear for a hobby and pins them on his bedroom wall. He has almost every girl’s undies in this whole town. He’ll tear them off you and then do things.”

Leah lowered her voice to a whisper. “Marie Johnson said his hands are like an octopus’s. Everywhere at once.”

I was appalled and then intrigued. But, “I don’t think he’ll want my underwear. Dylan is his best friend. Plus, I’m not really into that kind of thing.” You know, being a nice girl and all.

“It doesn’t matter,” said Leah, full of big sister knowledge. “He just has to look at you and you’ll rip your undies off for him. He’s that good. An octopus, Gemma. You better stop ogling him.”

I was skeptical, to say the least.

But six months later, while I was cleaning up my parents’ garage after Josh and Dylan’s joint high school graduation party, Josh told me he’d miss me while he was in New York for college. Then, lo and behold, he stole my panties. Metaphorically, of course.

For the second time in my life, I spent another few weeks terrified that I was going to blow up like a birthday balloon and pop out a baby.

After weeks of toe-numbing worry followed by my period and sweet sagging relief, I realized that Josh Lewenthal was not worth my fascination/worship/idolization, that he was in fact an immature/emotionally constipated user.

I didn’t see him again for six years.

By the time he came back to town I’d been married, divorced, and was long past mooning over fantasies.

I had an apartment in the city and my current (amazing) job, social media marketing coordinator for acclaimed self-help guru Ian Fortune. And I had goals. Lots of goals.

I mean…today I have goals.

Okay. A goal.

From the very beginning of this series, I never thought that one of the Golden siblings would replace top ranking of the other, but with each subsequent book it’s happened. Sterling and Lexi have not only joined the ranks with the other Golden couples, their story has turned out to be one of my favorites.

Fake relationships AND enemies to lovers are two of my favorite tropes and Mr. Silver has both. Reading this fantastic book was like diving into my favorite foods. Once I start I can’t stop, it’s yummy and delicious, leaving me full and ultimately satisfied with that high feeling and always wanting more when I’m barely done. That was me reading this entire book. Start to finish, I couldn’t put it down, laughing, sighing, and loving this couple through to the very last page.

Lexi Rodriguez is a total spitfire from the very beginning. She doesn’t budge an inch allowing Sterling into her emotional circle. Does she use his situation to her advantage…oh yeah she does, which I absolutely adore about her. Lexi is no wallflower to the ultimate Golden boy of Cypress Pointe, but I also love that she softens along the way, allowing Sterling to view the sensitive woman underneath that tough exterior she always wears. That girl has all been but extinguished inside her and Sterling has the rare advantage to know the real Lexi without abusing that privilege.

Sterling finds himself in a pickle and the only person able to pull him out of it just so happens to be the one girl who hates his guts. Sterling and Lexi, frenemies at best, form a fake relationship to help Sterling out of said pickle and while on a good day these two hold their animosity at arms length at best, they now have to look like they are dating in the public eye. How will they ever pull this off?

Understanding, appreciation, and emotional support go a long way in building what was broken between them, and while neither was looking for something long term out of this fake relationship (they were honestly just hoping not to kill one another) things changed that neither one of them ever saw coming.

I think what I loved most of all is that neither one of them originally went into this fake relationship with nefarious plans set to destroy the other one, but as their relationship grew organically they also didn’t run and hide.  Both Sterling and Lexi were a beautiful surprise to this fantastic series and like I said above, this book was like enjoying one of my favorite meals. Totally delicious!

Synopsis:

When I spotted him sneaking out the Dean’s window—a woman whose reputation precedes her—I could’ve minded my business. But it’s not every day you catch your nemesis in such a compromising position, so I did what any self-respecting person would’ve done.

I added fuel to the scandal that ignited, then laughed while the cops hauled him off in nothing but handcuffs and his boxers.
Of course, the arrogant prick found a way to rope me into the lie that got him out of trouble. Which means the only way I come out of this unscathed is to go along with it, pretend we’re a thing.

Most girls would kill to be on the arm of a Golden triplet, but I’m counting down the days until it’s over. In public, we give the city the show they crave—a chance to witness their local bad boy falling in love. But when we’re alone, the gloves come off and we give each other hell.

Only, who knew exchanging insults and cruelty could feel a bit like… foreplay?

There’s an expiration date on this arrangement, but as we turn up the heat to convince our city this “relationship” is the real deal, Sterling and I sometimes forget that it isn’t. He might think his recent fall from grace was a disaster, but if he makes me regret this, I swear I’ll make his life a living hell.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… your belongings might mysteriously catch fire.

Consider this your final warning, Mr. Silver, because it’s the only one you’ll get.

Mr. Silver is a full-length standalone novel (roughly 100k words). This book can absolutely be read on its own, but for the sake of flow and clarity, it’s recommended that you start with THE GOLDEN BOYS (a bully romance trilogy within this series), then move on to PRETTY BOY D (a friends-to-lovers standalone).
