Gouda Friends; Ponto Beach Reunion #2
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: March 22, 2022

Genre/Tropes: Contemporary/Friends-to-Lovers Romance

Author: Cathy Yardley

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Loveable, light, fun filled book, especially if you love cheesy puns.

Yardley knows how to mesh the friends to lovers trope to still keep the story flirty, punny, and with the right amount of steam.

While this is a complete standalone, both characters were introduced in book one along with the rest of the Nerd Herd. It’s a loveable group of friends who have managed to stay friends long after their high school days.

Tam may have moved away, but after an incident with her boyfriend, she comes back to Ponto Beach and to the comfort of her BFF. While Tam tries to figure out her life, Josh is there to give a guiding hand and emotional support-with-benefits, cause what kind of friend would he be if benefits didn’t come with helping. Seriously though, this book is sweet and fun with just the right amount of tension to make the character development perfect.

I love these characters and highly enjoyed returning to Ponto Beach.

Synopsis:

Two high school BFFs reunite and endeavor to fix each other’s lives in this geeky romance from the author of Love, Comment, Subscribe.

Tam Doan dumped her boyfriend after he threw away her gourmet cheese. Sure, it’s a little more complicated than that, but the point is, he had it coming. Newly single and unemployed, Tam calls up her best friend from high school and utters the emergency code word—goldfish. Next thing she knows, she’s on a plane back home.

Josh O’Malley was a troubled, unconfident teenager. Now he’s the successful owner of a multimillion-dollar ghost kitchen. Tam, his high school BFF and fellow member of the Nerd Herd friend group, was instrumental in building his self-esteem. When she calls him out of the blue, he jumps at the chance to return the favor.

Josh and Tam immediately get to work fixing her life—but again, it’s complicated. Their close friendship was always a lifeline between them; a blooming romance might confuse things. Still, at least one thing is for certain: their chemistry is un-brie-lievable.

The Difference Between Someday and Forever; Difference Trilogy #3
(#3 within a trilogy)

Publication Date: March 24, 2022

Genre/Tropes: Trilogy/Contemporary/Tragic Romance

Author: Aly Martinez

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Shivers, goosebumps, and all the tears. Aly’s writing does it to me every. Single. Time.

Remi Grey and Bowen Michaels are fate, destiny, and a love story unlike any other. They beat the odds over and over again and during the process of falling in love totally melted my heart.

This story held twists and turns, ups and downs, but through it all their love remained steadfast. Remi and Bowen’s love is so strong, the way they fight for each other while still maintaining passion and a playfulness, was refreshing to read.

I loved stepping into their world and falling in love with them, through the rough times and good times it was absolutely beautiful to read.

As this is the final book in the trilogy, all loose ends tie up and no stone is left unturned. Aly’s writing blew me away.

Synopsis:

The world took everything from us.

As survivors of not only a plane crash, but two other impossible tragedies, we’d more than earned a life of peace. But time and time again, we were shown that fate had no intention of giving that to us.

Remi and I were soulmates. Plain and simple. Our love should have died in the depths of our darkness, but the sun still exists even when it’s not shining.

The secrets of our past threatened to destroy us at every turn, but for Remi, I would never stop fighting for our future.

The world took everything from us.
And we would stop at nothing until we took it all back—forever.
