Review:
Wrecked, I’m wrecked. Emery Rose has totally destroyed me. Reading this book was like riding a rollercoaster to the highest point with so much joy and then dropping off, straight down into a dark pit. Gah!!!! The emotional swirling in my soul to get to the end…Wow…Rose knows how to write the angst.
Ridge and Evie are oil and water, but also so alike, it makes it almost impossible to be together when they know every dark secret and crack in their armour. Prideful to the extreme they both don’t give an inch, but their circling and eventual pull to one another just can’t be ignored, but when tragedy strikes their attraction just isn’t enough to keep them together.
They burn when they are together, but they also burn when they are apart. Up and down their lives intertwine with the other McCallister’s, which make their lives even more complicated, but can they coexist in a world where they might not be everything to each other?
This book covers several dark topics and is super angsty in the best way that each McCallister book has been in this Lost Star series. My favorite part as this series has grown is Noah, Brody and Lila’s son. He always offers up the best advice, coming from a child of all things, and if he ever does get his own book I can only imagine what his love interest will think of his sage wisdom.
Synopsis:
Ridge McCallister.
King of the junkyard. God of the gridiron. Cypress Springs’ beloved bad boy.
With just a wink and a smile, he has most girls at his beck and call. Good thing I’m immune to his (debatable) charms.
Don’t get me wrong, he is beautiful. With the body of a Greek god and the face of a fallen angel, who could resist?
Too bad he’s so… Ridge. Every time he opens his mouth, I want to punch him. Or kiss him.
No, I don’t want that. Not at all. Not even a little bit.
Yet here I am in a no-strings-attached summer fling with the guy I love to hate, and my traitorous heart is calling the shots.
The problem is he’s a wreck, and I’m ruined. And as anyone can tell you, when wrecked meets ruined things tend to get… messy.
Make no mistake about it.
We are going to destroy each other.
