Review:
Dark and brutal, and extremely obsessive! In case I need to say that again….Dark and brutal with a severe case of the obsessiveness!! Greyson is no joke, but if that is totally your jam…continue on.

Greyson has grown up an entitled son to a senator. He is used to getting everything he wants and getting out of every situation because of who he is, but in one night when he collides with Violet his entitled life changes. Then when life sends Violet right into his path a few months later Greyson decides to take his anger out on her. Ruthlessly, with pain, and maliciously. Remember that warning from up above, Greyson does not hold back. He is the quintessential antihero.

Violet’s life changed in an instant when Greyson first entered it, but she never expected to see him months later after she was trying to get her life back on track. Greyson taunts her, stalks her, and pushes every button until Violet pushes back. Violet has a strong friendship base by her side, which helps tremendously in keeping her sanity, but Violet is no shrinking flower, she’s strong in her own right and Greyson didn’t realize his prey wasn’t quite so weak.

These two circle each other as their demons come out to play, but if you are looking for sunshine and daisies, this book isn’t filled with them. Brutal Obsession is dark and filled with potential triggers, if you happen to be sensitive to those, so know your limits. As for myself, I rather enjoyed the ride watching how they circled each other like predators, wondering if they would survive. Plus, I loved the character growth from who they were from the beginning to who they evolved into by the end. I was riveted through the entire book.

Synopsis:
I had a foolproof plan.
Finish college playing the best sport on earth. Hockey.
Get drafted by an NHL team.
Make my senator father at least a little proud of me.

I was on track to do just that… until Violet Reece and I collided. Literally.

Turns out, my plan didn’t account for a night in jail-and the news articles that followed it.
Everything fell apart after that.

New school, new hockey team. And a resentment like I’ve never felt before directed at the girl who set me off course.

Lucky for me, she attends this new school of mine.
And there are a thousand ways to ruin her.

He shattered my leg, and now he wants to ruin the rest of me.

Greyson Devereux is a menace–but only to me.
To everyone else, he’s charismatic.
He’s the son of a senator and the star of the university’s hockey team.

When all I want is to be invisible, he drags me into the spotlight.
He wants my blood, my fear, my attention.

Resisting him only worsens his obsession.
Fighting solidifies it.

He’s brutal, and he draws out a sick darkness in me that enjoys it.
But I’ll be damned if I let him become my downfall.
