Confessions: Ethan
By Ella Frank
Confessions, Book 7
Everything in the world is about sex except sex.
Sex is about power. ~ Oscar Wilde
Desire. Dominance. Sex.
Ethan Holt is in the business of all three.
He believes that any fantasy can be created,
and that any kink should be explored.
Why wouldn’t he, when he has several of his own?
Control. Ethan has to have it.
In his job at The Office. In his relationship with Zayne.
He’s very particular on who he lets in his world,
and even more so on who he lets in his bed.
After all, he’s not the only one who sleeps in it.
Everything in their world is in perfect order,
just the way Ethan likes it.
Until a mysterious redhead walks into their club
and turns their world inside out.
What happens when control turns to chaos?
Do you give in to it? Or do you make chaos…submit?
Confessions: Ethan begins a new sub-series within the Chicagoverse. It is an MMF contemporary romance series that revolves around Chloé Thornton-Priestley, the wild-child daughter of the three P’s. This can be read as a standalone series.

All of Me: The Complete Series, an angst-filled and heart-wrenching new-adult romance collection featuring Say I’m the One, Let Me Love You & Hold Me Close from USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Siobhan Davis is available now!
I’m head over heels in love with my best friend. Although, I can’t pinpoint exactly when Reeve Lancaster became my entire world.
Was it when we were little kids, practically brought up together, after Reeve’s mom died during childbirth and his dad subsequently fell apart? Or when I doodled his name in my school journal at age ten? Maybe it was when we became boyfriend and girlfriend at fourteen or when we shed our virginity at sixteen, pledging our forever?
I was there as his star ascended—like I’d always known it would—and there wasn’t a prouder person on the planet. As the only child of Hollywood’s golden couple, I’ve lived my life in the spotlight enough to know it wasn’t what I wanted for my future. But I sacrificed my own desires, because Reeve’s happiness meant everything to me.
Until he crushed my heart into itty-bitty pieces, forcing me to fly halfway around the world just to escape the gut-wrenching pain.
The opportunity to study at Trinity College Dublin came at the perfect moment, and I jumped at the chance without hesitation. If I’d known fate was meddling in my life, perhaps I would have chosen differently, but my future was cemented the instant I laid eyes on him.
Dillon O’Donoghue was Reeve’s polar opposite in every way, and perhaps, that’s why I felt drawn to him. He was the dark to my light. The thorn in my side, irritating me with his cold disdain, wild recklessness, and a burning rage hidden deep inside him that spoke to a silent part within me. Yet Dillon showed me what it was like to truly live, opening my eyes to endless possibilities.
What happened next was inevitable, and I only have myself to blame. He warned me, and I knew my reprieve was temporary, because there is only so far I can run.
Especially when fate hasn’t finished messing with me yet.
Review:
An opposites attract at its best! The Heirs have been challenged by none other than the Head Girl, Tallulah Darlington, that means it’s gloves off at All Hallows and Tally needs to watch her back.
Oakley and Tally have tons of friction throughout this book, which is one aspect of Tally’s fight. The other part of it is she’s always stood up against injustice and to her the Heirs are one boys club of patriarchal douchecanoes. She wants to shut down the system and turn their clubhouse into a mental health and wellness clinic, something that could benefit the entire student population, not just a few entitled rich boys. As great as this sounds, and it truly does, sadly the student population sides with the Heirs and their partying ways, that means Tally is enemy #1 and the Heirs only have to sit back and watch the rest of All Hallows do their dirty work for them.
While Tally gets bullied by basically everyone around her, she’s also fighting Oakley on a personal and emotional basis. This girl is one of the strongest girls that Caitlyn has written yet and that’s saying something because she’s written some really amazing women. Tally seriously doesn’t back down from anyone and I love that about her. While I do question her digging her heels in at times, I also commend her for sticking to her guns, not many people have her kind of courage and I like that spirit.
Oakley took a bit longer to fall into his groove. His character development was a slower process, but isn’t that the same for most men in our lives, late emotional bloomers. While I disliked Oakley, even back in his sisters book, I actually like that it progressed to me warming up to him throughout the course of this book and I actually like the guy now. Who knew that would happen?!
This is just the first part of Tally and Oakley’s story and it does end on a bit of an emotional cliffhanger so I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next.

Alta Hensley is a USA TODAY bestselling author of hot, dark and dirty romance. She is also an Amazon Top 100 bestselling author. Being a multi-published author in the romance genre, Alta is known for her dark, gritty alpha heroes, sometimes sweet love stories, hot eroticism, and engaging tales of the constant struggle between dominance and submission.
She lives in a log cabin in the woods with her husband, two daughters, and an Australian Shepherd. When she isn’t battling the bats, and watching the deer, she is writing about villains who always get their love story and happily ever after.
Stasia is a USA Today Bestselling author happily planted in sunny California after a freezing five-year stint in Minnesota. She plans never, ever to leave.
She loves writing, reading, listening to podcasts, and has recently taken up biking after a twenty-year sabbatical (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it). She has a wonderful teenage son who’s the center of her world 🙂
She’s also drawn to romantic stories that don’t take the easy way out. She wants to see beneath people’s veneer and poke into their dark places, their twisted motives, and their deepest desires. Basically, she wants to create characters that make readers alternately laugh, cry ugly tears, want to toss their kindles across the room, and then declare they have a new FBB (forever book boyfriend).
Matchmaking a Roommate by Denise Grover Swank & Angela Casella is now live!
He’s her next makeover project. She’s his next mistake.
Ivy
I’m Ivy Anders, popular romance novelist and small-town success story. Or so they say. I tell myself I’m only back in my hometown because my father had a heart attack, but that’s not the full story.
I can’t go home. And the longer I stay, the less I want to. I’m drawn in by my part-time job at Ziggy brewery, which I took to research for my next book, and by the mystery of Lou, my father’s stuffy lodger, a temporary transplant from New York.
Normally, I wouldn’t look twice at someone like Lou. He’s a rules guy, and I’ve never met a rule I didn’t want to break just for the fun of it. But it’s obvious he needs an intervention to avoid becoming an old man at thirty-four, and I am going to make that happen.
Lou
I came to Highland Hills to hide. It’s not every day a man loses his professional integrity, his fiancée, and his pet fish all in the same week.
The last thing I want is for smoking hot Ivy Anders to get it into her head that I should be her project. But she has, and it’s hard as hell to say no to her. Believe me, I’ve tried.
The more time we spend together, the more I realize that I have another problem on my hands: Ivy’s everything I’m not—young and wild and free—and she’s all I can think about.

Review:
A fun, sassy book that touched my funny bone while touching my heart.
He’s Mr. Relationship and she’s looking for fun.
He’d rather watch a documentary and she’d rather watch a romcom.
He’s Mr. Stability and she’d rather try new things.
On paper Ivy and Lou shouldn’t work and that’s exactly how the Matchmake Me app feels about them too. However, the more time they spend together they begin to doubt what the AI system says about the two of them, especially when it matches them with people they have nothing in common with.
This opposites-attract story is simply adorable, not to mention, fulls of laughs, as Ivy and Lou figure out their grumpy-sunshine coupleness is exactly the best thing each other needs.
I love having Ivy’s siblings make an appearance here and there, but honestly my favorite aspect of this book is just how candid Ivy is. She completely owns who she is and her vibrancy shines through. It’s no wonder a grump like Lou is drawn to her shiny soul. ✨️

I’ve been told I’m the grumpiest goalie in the league, and that may be the case, but who cares when I’m also killing it this season? The Carolina Comets are currently on a record-breaking run, and I intend to keep it that way.
This means the last thing I need is distractions, but my mother didn’t get that memo. She’s getting married, and after the fiasco I caused at her last wedding, I’m required to bring a date.
That would be easy, except for one little thing: I don’t date.
So why is the only person I want to take a single mom who can’t stand me?
We’re a horrible match, and it makes no sense that I’d be into her. But the more time we spend together, the more it’s starting to look like this might be one game I can’t win.

The night we met, she left behind a lot more than just her shoes on my bedroom floor.
She left an impression.
A lasting memory burned into my brain. It teases me… tortures me.
Months have passed since that night. I’ve tried a million and one ways to get her out of my head.
But she’s always there. Haunting me. Stealing my sinful thoughts. Fuelling my darkest desires.
I warned her to stay away. But I didn’t mean it— not really.
Before I can make her mine, I’ll have to find her. With nothing more than her red heels, it’s impossible.
Until I stumble across her in the exact same place I found her the first time… and the last place I expected her to be.
She didn’t heed my warning.
And she’s about to learn to take my threats more seriously.
I want to claim her, but she’s not mine to keep. So I’ll take what I can get, and be the one to walk away this time.
My mistake was thinking I would always know where to find her. I just hope this time I’m not too late.

Review:
Angels and demons working together, oh my!
Sort of world ending ideas right here when demons and angels come together, but it’s actually far from that.
Living Legend may involve supernatural beings, but it is a world immersed in very contemporary ideas.
Nick and Reese are sentry angels who guide souls to heaven. They also train as warriors since they guard the gate, but they have never had a need to use their actual skills.
Dani and Elise are demons basically the opposite of the angels working in purgatory and you can just imagine what their jobs entail on the flipside.
When Dani is summoned to heaven to help the angels she brings her best friend along and Elise sparing with Nick’s bestie, Reese, through the entire book is a lot of great comic relief. Could Nick and Dani have cut through a lot of things without those two going at it constantly, maybe, but there is a reason why someone has a bestie in every book.
For the most part, the storyline was great, but for me personally, the writing was very over-the-top descriptive, which bogs down getting from point A to point B. This is truly my own perspective, since my mind wanders with too much time in between one spoken sentence until the next one. Especially when it’s one or two pages in between. Other than that, I liked the variation on angels working together and having the female demon with all the sinful sass.
Synopsis: She’s been called from her place in the darkness to aid the side of good in the last place she wants to be…
Dani, groomed by Lilith herself, has long been spreading horror in the murk of purgatory. She never asked to be summoned to Heaven’s Gate and never expected to be charged with the stubbornly attractive angel Nicholas as her partner. Though, with a face like his to look at, Dani isn’t about to complain. The lines between good and evil are shifting. Dani discovers that, lurking in her familiar darkness, are secrets she would never have guessed at and doesn’t understand. Now she must ask herself, who is a demon supposed to trust?
He’ll have to join forces with the last entity he expected… but sometimes true loyalty lies in the most unexpected places.
Nicholas is a sentry angel yet to see actual combat, so it comes as a surprise when he’s summoned by the highest angelic executive. The bigger shock is being forced to rally together with an alluring demon he can’t get out of his head. But as allegiances are tested, Nicholas discovers a lot is hiding between the boundaries of good and evil. Side by side, Nicholas and Dani must fight the unknown… in whatever form it takes.

Oh my freakin’ heart!! The angsty ups and downs! I am in turmoil 💔❤️🩹
My bleeding soul needs a few days to recover from Noah and Sky, but then I will need answers from that cliffhanger.
The tumultuous story begins with a broken Noah and honestly if it wasn’t for this heartbreaking moment in time, all of the dastardly things he does later because he’s so hollow inside wouldn’t make him the least bit redeemable. It helps to know he’s human with feelings and that he’s not just a heartless dic$. I constantly went back and forth between hating him and loving him. The duet is titled super appropriately 😂
Skylar’s life was uprooted, which is always bad enough for a teen in high school, but the circumstances in her family life make it ten times worse. She’s bullied, she’s feeling alone, she just wants to graduate and get away. Sky broke my heart. The relationship between her and Noah is toxic at best, but that line when crossed…oh my ❤️🔥
This is the first part of Noah and Sky’s story which has already dug a place in my heart and I can’t wait to finish it in the second half of this angsty duet.

From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a new steamy age-gap, enemies-to-lovers “why choose” forbidden romance!
He’s a successful attorney with a secret craving for his too-young stepdaughter. He wants her badly. But his wicked son wants her too…
Love is an illusion.
In my world, collecting the shiniest trophies is what I do.
Beautiful wife. Swanky home. Expensive cars. Successful firm. Future attorney general.
Add in the Park family name and I’m the envy of every man in town.
True love, however, was never attainable, no matter how much I secretly wanted it.
The desire to be loved isn’t my only secret.
My wife is missing.
With my life under scrutiny as I run for office, I’m finding it difficult to lie away her whereabouts. People are starting to notice. My political opponent. Her best friend. And worst of all, my wife’s daughter, Aubrey.
Aubrey is finally back home after two long years with her dad, but she’s asking questions I don’t have answers to. Yet, that’s not all she’s doing…
She’s invading my thoughts and my heart, driving me insane with her beauty and vulnerability.
I want her.
She’s barely legal and my wife’s daughter.
Forbidden and morally wrong.
I can’t have her. I can’t.
My son, though, doesn’t live by the same code I do.
He wants her too.
But not to love…to destroy.
I’ll risk everything to keep him from her.
Even if this tangle of awful costs me my reputation, my campaign, and my son.
***This is a complete mfm standalone novel with a happily ever after. Characters are of legal age and there is no romantic involvement between blood relations. ***
K Webster is a USA Today Bestselling author. Her titles have claimed many bestseller tags in numerous categories, are translated in multiple languages, and have been adapted into audiobooks. She lives in “Tornado Alley” with her husband, two children, and her baby dog named Blue. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, drinking copious amounts of coffee, and researching aliens.
Two pink lines won’t change the bad blood between us.
I haven’t always hated my brother’s best friend, but Michael Oliver gets under my skin and brings out the worst in me. He knows how to push my buttons, and I relish pushing all of his. He betrayed my trust years ago, so I’ve made it my mission in life to aggravate him until he admits he was wrong.
When his sister’s wedding brings us together, Michael suggests a truce for one night. If only he weren’t so handsome and smart, maybe I could resist the allure, but I’ve always been a little impulsive, and this man is my ultimate temptation. After years of pent-up frustration and unrequited lust, I finally let down my guard, and that’s all it takes for us to combust.
But like all bad decisions, the morning after brings a reckoning, and I leave his hotel room swearing to never waste another moment of my time pining after him. Who needs that grumpy jerk warming her bed? Not me.
I don’t let myself think about that steamy night together, or how it pained me to hear about his football injury, or how much I know he wants to get drafted so he can help his family. Because I’m cutting Michael out of my life for good.
Only the two little pink lines mean I can’t forget him. Even if I desperately want to.

Review:
Cayson Bexley is my new favorite Bexley brother!!💖
Blanket Under the Stars is a slow burn, but super sensual book. It brought out all the butterflies felt when falling in love for the first time, along with all the big time flames brought about with passionate first time kisses, touches, and everything that comes after that. Yes, Cayson is dreamy and steamy.
Cayson reminded me a lot of Captain America. Yes, there is that military similarity, but it’s also in his innocence and just down-hearted goodness. Cayson is extremely likeable and while it would seem hard that a man like him, chock full of heroism and sweetness, hasn’t had a girlfriend or made it past any of the bases…once you get to know him it makes a lot more sense. His inner light shines through and I only wanted good things for him.
Olivia on the other hand, not that she’s the total opposite being a bad girl, she’s just experienced and full of energy. Both of her parents are rock stars and Olivia grew up on the road while they toured. While Olivia found that life exciting, she now wants to keep roots and build a business and name for herself. She has no problem taking charge of herself and being Cayson’s tutor in the bedroom and I’ll just say Cayson is an excellent student.
These two are magic together, but at times I did want to smack Oliva for not realizing Cayson is absolutely perfect, but I could also understand where she was coming from.
As the youngest brother of the Bexley’s and with this being the last book in this series, it was the perfect ending to wrap up a fantastic storyline.
Synopsis:
All Cayson Bexley ever wanted was to fly…
Until a near-fatal crash clipped his wings, sending the injured military pilot back to his hometown and living right next door to me.
From the moment our eyes meet, the attraction is undeniable.
I mean who wouldn’t fall for that achingly gorgeous face, his clean-cut demeanor, and sweet, small town charm?
Other than our mutual love of music, we’re as opposite as two people can be.
Which is precisely why I friend-zone him the moment he shows interest.
But as time goes on, my heart softens to this man who once had it all—a literal hero floundering to find his purpose.
In the midst of my own struggles, I could certainly use a friend.
Heck, I could use more than that.
And I’m not afraid to let Cayson know it.
When I discover my hunk of a neighbor is as shy as he is inexperienced, I offer him a distraction he can’t possibly refuse.
We already share a very thin wall.
Why not a bed too?
There’s only one catch: he’ll have to promise not to fall in love with me…
A no-strings hook-up is every man’s dream, right?
What could possibly go wrong?

I lost my first love. This time, I’m going to win the second girl who owns my heart—no matter the stakes.
Being the drummer for Raging Chaos is the only thing that’s kept me going for the past six years. Even the music isn’t enough to drown out the guilt that’s been suffocating me since what happened to Tori.
When Sadie storms into my life, ripping through my trepidations, sorrows, and bitterness, I can’t help but wonder if she could be my second chance.
I could love her, but in order to do that, I have to stop hating myself first.
Easier said than done. Before I have the chance to mend this broken heart, I push Sadie away and hit rock bottom.
The next time I see her, she has a baby. And if that’s not hurtful enough, it’s not just any baby.
It’s my baby.
Sadie
Bleeding hearts can still beat. I’m living proof of that.
At first, Gage was just someone to take away the pain—until I realized he was battling demons of his own.
I never meant to get too close to the devil with the drumsticks, but once I did, he shoved me out of his life with a force.
My heart might be cracked, but his is completely broken. And trying to save him would destroy us both.
So, I do the right thing and I walk away—not only to protect me but also our unborn baby.
I had no idea who Gage was to the world when I slipped into his bed. Now that I’m out of it, it’s clear he’ll have to clean up his act before he’s father material.
But then we meet again, and I’m reminded of the man he could be.
The man he was born to be, before tragedy struck and the chaos left his heart barely beating.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Like real life, the characters are far from perfect, make morally gray decisions, and deal with subjects that may be sensitive for some readers. If you are looking for a safe romance, this series is not for you. Trigger warnings (which contain spoilers) can be found on my website.
The cynical divorce lawyer and the hearts-and-flowers wedding planner could be the perfect match . . .
If you ever get married, remember my name: Max Henderson. In my line of work, you acquire a certain perspective on supposedly everlasting unions . . .
1. Pre-nups are your friend.
2. The person you married is not the person you’re divorcing.
3. And I hope you didn’t spend much on the wedding because that was one helluva waste of hard-earned cash, wasn’t it?
But some guys are willing to take a chance. Like my brother, who thinks he’s going to ride off into the sunset with the woman of his dreams in a haze of glitter on unicorns. And the wedding planner—the green-eyed beauty who makes a living convincing suckers to shell out thousands of dollars on centerpieces—is raking it in on this matrimonial monstrosity.
The thing is, Charlie Love is not unlike me. We’re both cogs in the wedding-industrial complex. As the best man, I know her game—and I can play it better than her. But after one scorching, unexpected kiss, I think . . .
Rule #2: Never fall for your client’s fiercely protective, smoking hot sister-in-law.
I’m the kind of guy who believes that everyone deserves the best legal representation money can buy—which just so happens to be me, Lucas Wright. Give me your henpecked, your cuckolded, your irreconcilable differences yearning to break free. And if you’re the bad guy in your marriage, that’s cool, too. Your green is as good as anyone’s.
Tell that to Trinity Jones. It’s my job to destroy her sister—the soon-to-be ex-wife of my a-hole of a client—and Trinity’s “big sis” instincts are dialed up to the max. I admire that. I admire her. But she won’t stop me from representing my client to the best of my ability.
Not even if my chemistry with Trinity is undeniable. Not even if we can’t keep our hands off each other. Not even if she injects life into a heart assumed to be long dead.
Because when faced with a choice between love and duty, the job will always win—or at least that’s what I thought before I met Trinity . . .
And suddenly conflict of interest never felt so right.
In the courtroom, they’re rivals. In the bedroom, they’re . . . divorced. But could the road trip from hell lead to a second chance at love?
Aubrey Gates is the hottest divorce lawyer in Chicago, a barb-tongued stiletto with legs that go on for miles. When her cool gray eyes meet mine across the battlefield, I want her like I’ve never wanted anyone or anything. Then I remember who she is: the woman who brought me to my knees. The woman who destroyed my faith in relationships.
The woman I used to call . . . wife.
And she needs a favor.
It seems my ex forgot to mention the demise of our marriage to her dear old grammie, and now we’re both expected to attend her ninetieth birthday party. In Boston. And because it isn’t already awkward enough, Aubrey and I are driving there together from Chicago. That’s more than a thousand miles of tension, heartbreak, and barely concealed lust.
A little piece of paper might say we’re over, but this road trip is the true test. I intend to get my wife back . . .
Originally from Ireland, USA Today bestselling author Kate Meader cut her romance reader teeth on Maeve Binchy and Jilly Cooper novels, with some Harlequins thrown in for variety. Give her tales about brooding mill owners, oversexed equestrians, and men who can rock an apron, fire hose, or a hockey stick, and she’s there. Now based in Chicago, she writes sexy contemporary romance with big-hearted guys and strong heroines – and heroes – who can match their men quip for quip.
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tracy Lorraine brings you a new dark mafia, high school bully romance story set in the Knight’s Ridge Empire world.
Tracy Lorraine is a M/F and M/M contemporary romance author.
Tracy has recently-ish turned thirty and lives in a cute Cotswold village in England with her husband, baby girl and lovable but slightly crazy dog. Having always been a bookaholic with her head stuck in her Kindle, Tracy decided to try her hand at a story idea she dreamt up. Molly and Ryan were born and the rest is history, as they say!

“Do you think he’s going to kill you? I know the man seems scary but he’s not. The key
with Big Tag is to give as good as you get. Like fight his sarcasm with sarcasm. When he asks
how my broom ride in was, I smile and ask him if he rode in on the back of a brontosaurus from
his age. I know that sounds harsh, but it made him laugh, and now we’re cool. I spent the first
couple of weeks terrified by him, thinking he was this big bully, but he’s actually the sweetest
guy.”
The words had been said with a slightly husky feminine tone, and when he turned, sure
enough there was a woman. A young woman who looked like she’d walked off the pages of a
goth comic book. She was petite, a good foot shorter than him, with two purple pig tails, and she
liked black. She had on a black miniskirt with sparkly suspenders over a black button-up. Dark
green leggings and combat boots completed the look.
She was absolutely nothing like the two types of women he’d been surrounded by the last
decade of his life. Military women who kept things neat and clean and practical, or the
sophisticated crowd he’d run in when he’d been a spy. Women who were polished and thought
out every single word they said and action made.
The first he would have nodded and made some simple conversation with. The second he
would spend some time figuring out to ensure they weren’t here to spy on him.
He had absolutely no idea what to do with the woman in front of him. “Uh, I don’t think
he’s going to kill me.”
She was weirdly fascinating. And just plain weird. She had a messenger bag over her
shoulder, and the wide strap was decorated with a bunch of buttons, one which proclaimed her
the Mistress of Code. She seemed to like code and the color green since she had a big button with
the words I Always Play Green and some weird figure on it. “Confident. I like it. Are you a client
or a new hire?” She gasped as she seemed to think of something. “Or a new vendor? Because if
you are trying to sell the big guy anything that’s not a lemon tart, he might kill you. We should
rethink this.”
It was her smile that did it. A small uptick of lips that let him know she was fucking with
him and probably fucked with every guy in her life. Not in a “I’m looking to screw you over,
take your secrets, and then probably murder you on the way out the door” way he’d gotten used
to.
In the “I don’t take life too seriously” way. Like the women he’d been friends with in
college. The ones he’d been comfortable with in another lifetime. In the life he’d had before he’d
so brutally destroyed everything around him.
He should walk away from this woman. He was toxic, and his world for so long had been
blood and secrets and death. She wouldn’t even know how to walk in his world. She also wasn’t
his type. The last thing he needed was even a casual flirtation.
“I’m the new guy.” He held out a hand. “Name’s Kyle Hawthorne. I’m starting in the
bodyguard unit today.”
She was completely harmless. It wouldn’t hurt to talk to the cute goth chick while he was
here. He wouldn’t be here forever. He was giving this two months tops. That should be enough
time to satisfy his family and the higher-ups at the CIA that he wasn’t going to do something
dangerous. And then he would go do something dangerous.
She reached out, that smile turning into something truly glorious. Her black-tinged lips
spread and showed even white teeth, but it was the way that smile lit up her eyes that made him
pause. “MaeBe.”
Oh, she was playing with fire because for the first time in months he felt his groin tighten as
he took her hand in his and felt an actual fucking spark that probably wasn’t static electricity. He
couldn’t help the way his own lips curled up, and the words that flowed out of his mouth could
have come from his twenty-year-old self. “Maybe? I would say that’s a little presumptuous of
you, but I think I’ll go with it.”

We were never meant to be anything more than a brief stop in time.

Review:
We have arrived at the final trilogy of this series and Lorraine has saved the best for last!!
I felt like Sally in When Harry Met Sally shouting, “Yes, yes, oh god, yes!” Sinful Knight is absolutely the best. It’s wicked, it’s positively sinful, but it’s also sweetly innocent. That is both Alex and Evie in a nutshell. Their relationship is complicated at best, but also everything that this fan could have hoped for when it came to the last man standing.
Alex and Evie are two similar people from very different backgrounds. I loved getting to know more about Alex and what his role is within the family organization vs. his outward sometimes goofy persona. Then we have Evie and how she may come from a different world, but how she presents herself quite differently from what she allows those close to her to see. She’s a devil’s angel, the perfect combo for our Alex.
The story is a great tangled web of how these two could work with desperately wanting them to work, which made the reading fly by and then having my heart shatter when I reached the cliffhanging end. I can’t wait to dive back in for more.

Review:
Another steller, unputdownable book by Poppy Ireland!! However, do you want to know who completely stole the show–ALL of the secondary characters, especially one in particular…I was dying from laughter and my abs are killing me from all of my cackling.
While Nicole begins To Save A Mate feeling alone and that she can’t trust anyone, she pulls in the best girl gang and rag tag Scooby gang before long. Yes, all of those secondary characters I fell so incredibly hard for, they pull for Nicole in a big way as they help her begin to unlock the mystery of her origins and protect her and her father. Plus this group is just the kind of group that I know I’d want to hang out with. Handy in a pinch, sure, it seems supes are always handy when you need them, but I’m talking more about being loyal and true. Nicole is finally making friends and I love that for her.
Alexi, on the other hand, is on the strugglebus during this book. His father is a massive blight on the world and Alexi feels he’s the only one who can stop him, or at least protect his mate and those he cares about. The poor guy goes through a lot physically and emotionally. The poor guy just wants his mate, but life isn’t that easy.
I can hardly wait to find out what happens next. We’re left on another cliffhanger just as things were getting tense at Redwood U. I’m crossing my fingers until the next book arrives and probably rereading sections to work my abs over and over. Seriously, I was in tears and dying.
Synopsis:
Welcome back to Redwood University, where a power-hungry shifter wants to rule them all; and those strong enough to stand up to him must fight.
I tried to flee Redwood University, but when my father was kidnapped by a ruthless alpha, I was forced to submit. With a broken heart and wounded pride, I reluctantly followed his demands–if only to keep my father alive.
There’s danger lurking around every corner, and since Alexei crushed my heart in his fist, I sought an alliance with the vampires, fae, and witches instead.
Alexei is furious, jealous, and possessive. But despite everything, I still ache for him.
But the future alpha made his choice. No matter what he says, I can’t wait for a mate that won’t stand by my side. I just wish my heart would get with the program.
Because there’s an unknown power simmering in my veins, and a mystery I’m on the verge of cracking. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that Alpha Jones will do anything to gain more control, and that’s one thing I can never allow to happen.
So, if Alexei won’t save me from his father, then I’ll save myself.
*To Save a Mate is the second book in the Redwood University Trilogy. It cannot be read as a standalone and ends in a cliffhanger. If possessive heroes, who occasionally turn into wolves, and sassy, headstrong heroines are your jam, you’ve come to the right place. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the continuation of this exciting paranormal story.
