This is a book I couldn’t put down from start to finish. I loved their back and forth, the tension, and all the verbal sparring. Cole and Riley are angsty, angsty, angsty.
Cole sets out to make Riley’s life miserable when he discovers she’s the daughter to the woman having an affair with his dad. Cole hasn’t been happy with had dad for a long time, but that escalated when his mom died, blaming his dad for her death. So Riley mom’s and more importantly Riley is getting his ire even when he also wants her with a desperation he doesn’t quite understand. This story is full of angst from Cole’s point of view, but then we add in Riley’s and wowza.
Riley and her mom have run cons her entire life, so when Riley’s mom falls for Cole’s dad, telling her it isn’t a con, Riley isn’t sure what to believe. Already constantly on edge from Cole getting under her skin, Riley is waiting for the other shoe to drop from her mom too. Didn’t I mention all the angst?
I can’t wait to find out how the rest of the story goes in the second half of this duet and get even more delicious tension from this couple.

Savage Lies is an enemies-to-lovers, new adult, high school bully romance with plenty of angst. This book contains mature content that some readers may find disturbing. It is not a standalone and does end in a cliffhanger that continues with a ton of heat and a HEA in Savage Truth.
