Review:
I have to start this review with…I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!!

Kelsey Clayton hit me out of nowhere with a drive-by jaw dropping twist of a cliffy. 😲

Drop of Pretty Poison is the second book in Laiken and Hayes love story and like life this book zeros in on these two building the foundation of their lives. It focuses on their future, their jobs, friends, their relationship, etc…sort of mundane things that make up our everyday life, but for Laiken and Hayes it’s a whirlwind because it’s also new. While they have known each other through Cam, Laiken’s brother, for years, these two only know each other intimately for a few months.

This book displays the hardship of taking their relationship public and the ups and downs of life after such a revelation, along with huge twists and turns.

Can I just say again, I so wasn’t prepared for all the lefts when I was looking right. Good job Ms. Clayton!

Synopsis:

They say that when a love burns too bright, it’s bound to burn out—especially those wrapped in secrets and doused in lies.
After a risk is taken and a confession is made, one relationship heats up while another hangs in the balance. When everything rests on shaky ground, we find the stability we need tangled up in each other. Guards are let down and trust is repaired, but all vulnerability comes with a side of weakness. And the betrayal that hits us is one we never saw coming.

Revenge is a dangerous game, especially when fueled by jealousy. We’ll do whatever it takes to protect our own, even if it means seeking help from unlikely sources. While every favor comes at a price, choices made in distress have a tendency to backfire.

As our world comes crashing down around us, loyalties are put to the test. Nothing should be able to shatter the promises we made, but there’s a fine line between tenacious and toxic.

Someone should’ve warned us that even a drop of pretty poison will spread until all that’s left are shattered pieces and broken memories.

This is a full-length novel and book two of three. It cannot be read as a standalone, and it ends with a cliff-hanger. This book contains sensitive topics that may not be suitable for all readers. If needed, you can find a list of trigger warnings on Kelsey Clayton’s website. Please read safely.

Review – Sinful Princess by Tracy Lorraine

Sinful Princess; Sinful Trilogy #2
(#2 within the trilogy, #17 within the series)

Genre/Tropes: Trilogy/New Adult/Dark/Mafia/Suspense Romance

Author: Tracy Lorraine

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
The final trilogy in this all consuming, heart-pounding series is wrapping up to be Lorraine’s finest. Sinful Princess has been another sinfully, sweet book that I couldn’t put down. Alex has been worth the wait.

Sinful Princess is full of nostalgic moments. I honestly couldn’t imagine any other Knight recalling stories with love, humor, and a touch of humility like Alex has. They way he regales Evie with stories of the past year of his brothers and how they have all found their loves completely warmed my heart. It’s what made his trilogy the cherry on top of an already great series. The walk down memory lane was bittersweet, but also fantastically sweet as it truly displays how much love Alex has for his family and how much love he has inside for the right woman, which just so happens to be the one spending time with him. This book while had very tense moments, also made me ooohy-gooey inside. Evie and Alex make so much sense and I want everything to work, just the way Theo projects. Yes, that’s right…Theo has somehow become Mr. Romance, just don’t tell Emmie. 😉

There is no denying that of all the Knights Alex is the sunshiny light of the group, but his secrets hold him to the dark side. His internal strife over those secrets lead to some sad and difficult times. So while I adored all of the lovey-dovey, super hot stuff in the middle it is sandwiched in between some heavy, heart-pounding, and dicey moments.

There is only one book left and this book left us with quite the cliffhanger. I’m not sure how everything will turn out so I’m crossing fingers and toes that it will and Evie and Alex find their HEA.

Synopsis:
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tracy Lorraine brings you the next instalment of her dark mafia, high school romance story set in the Knight’s Ridge Empire world .

For years, all I dreamed about is a different life.

One far, far away from where I grew up.

But I always expected to be the one to make the decision about where I went, and more importantly, who with.

Turns out, I never had a say in any of it.

My future had been mapped out long ago.

Dear Readers,

Sinful Princess is the second book in Alex and his vixen’s trilogy and the final couple in my Knight’s Ridge Empire series. This book is a dark forbidden bully romance that contains mature content and demanding alphaholes that some readers may find disturbing. You have been warned.
