A Note from Laura:
Dear Readers,
I’m so excited to share my new standalone romance, Fighting the Fire! This is the fourth book in my Warrior Fight Club contemporary romance series, which mixes military and sports romance elements to tell the story of an MMA training club which creates a found family for veterans transitioning to civilian life and dealing with their war-borne demons. In Fighting the Fire, Sean and Daniela are two of my favorite characters I’ve ever written–they’re both strong, loyal, snarky, and hiding some pretty deep hurts that in the end make them so perfect for each other. And all that frenemies tension makes the chemistry between them hot AF! I hope you love them as much as I do!
xx Laura Kaye
About Fighting the Fire:
One night is never enough…
For firefighter Sean Riddick, Warrior Fight Club keeps the demons of his past at bay, even though it means seeing Daniela England. Her ball-busting sarcasm drives him nuts, and he knows he’s damaged goods anyway, but he can’t help but remember how good they were together that one time. Now he wants to take her to the mats no matter how much they go toe to toe.
ER nurse Daniela England has lost so much that she’s vowed never to need anyone again. Fight club helps her beat back her survivor’s guilt, but it means dealing with Riddick. The hot-but-infuriating firefighter is everything she wants to avoid, which is why their one-night stand was a mistake. Now she needs to keep her distance so it doesn’t happen again.
But when Dani witnesses Sean’s motorcycle accident, she steps up to help him recover. One on one, they get beneath all the snark and find a connection neither expected. As Sean heals, the sparks between them burst into red-hot passion—and ignite old wounds. Now there are fires all around—and they have to decide which they’ll fight and which they’ll let consume them.

Review – The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob by Pippa Grant
The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob; Bro Code #4
(An interconnecting standalone)
by: Pippa Grant
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
Pippa is the goddess of funny, there is no denying that fact, but The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob is more than her typical romcom, it is more than a romantic story between a hot mess mom and a hottie pop god, it is a book jammed full of emotion that kept leaking out of my eyes.
Levi Wilson is feeling melancholy. His life would seem practically perfect; he’s living his dream of pop stardom, models dripping from his arms, traveling the world, he’s basically done it all, but why can’t he shake the feeling that something is missing?
Surrounded by his brother, his friends, and even his own mother who is not only dating or found the loves of their lives might have something to do with this feeling, but it also might have something to do with missing these very people in his daily life every time he visits home. Missing his home town is an ache that is happening more and more, but when he meets Ingrid, a woman who runs a bookshop in Copper Valley that ache grows into something he didn’t even know he was missing.
Ingrid is a single mom with three, count them, three children and doesn’t have time for the complication that comes with a pop star’s life. Her marriage didn’t work because her ex was gone all the time, but Levi comes with a whole new set of complications aside from his traveling calendar. What she didn’t expect from Levi was the kind, considerate, nice, funny, and every other adjective to describe the man whose music got her through every rough patch in her life, which makes it that much harder not to fall for him, not the singer, but the man himself.
Can a hot mess single mother and a heartthrob pop star really make it work in the long run or can they just have a fun fling and still be friends?
Filled with Pippa’s comedy there were also many joyful tear filled moments. Those happy tears literally took my breath away and made the entire story so worth while. Levi is everything you were not expecting, while Ingrid’s family is an adorable mess.
Synopsis:
A rock star / single mom / fairy tale romcom
You don’t know me, but you do know me. I’m your neighborhood hot mess single mom, doing my best to keep my head above water while running my little slice of heaven and keeping my youngest from shoving marbles up his nose, which is exactly what he’s doing the first time Levi Wilson, pop star god, world’s sexiest man, and my all-time number one celebrity obsession, walks into my bookstore.
Related: I’m writing this from beyond the grave, because I’ve died of mortification and am now residing in an alternate universe.
I have to be.
Because Levi Wilson came back.
And we had a moment.
Like, a moment moment. The kind that makes me remember that adult pleasure isn’t all about hoping the lock holds in the bathroom so your kids don’t interrupt on the rare occasion you feel like taking an extra-long mommy-time shower.
So when he proposes a no-strings fling?
Count. Me. In.
Thrill of a lifetime, right?
Surely, nothing will go wrong…
The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob is a rockin’ fun, sexy romantic comedy featuring a celebrity panty-melter who doesn’t know what he’s been missing, a sassy single mom hanging on by a string, three adorable children who would never burst in on a woman when she’s on a toilet (ha!), and shameless ovary-busting moments between a guy who never thought he’d be a dad and a family who thought they got along just fine without him. It stands alone and comes complete with a happily-ever-after (though you’d never go wrong to read the other Bro Code series books first).
The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob is COMING JANUARY 7th!

Review – Tempted by Ava Harrison
Tempted
(A standalone)
by: Ava Harrison
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
I wanted to enjoy this book more than I did, but the temptation to stop altogether was there. However, I have an addiction to reading and always finishing what I started, so I was hoping the story hooked me the further the book progressed. Unfortunately, that moment never did arrive.
Temptation comes in many forms and while Bailey is a recovering drug addict her need to not get evicted from her apartment outweighs the temptation of working in a nightclub where she’s surrounded by temptation every night, but the biggest temptation of all is the owner of the club.
Drew knows all about Bailey’s past, but he gives her a second chance at life having been there himself. He has a strict no drug policy in his club, but as hard has he tries to keep it out, he also knows nothing is 100 percent. However, right now his biggest concern is to keep an eye on his newest employee, which isn’t a hardship, what will be is keeping his hands to himself, as she becomes his biggest temptation.
I had trouble finding the connection between Drew and Bailey, even after setting the story down thinking it was just holiday stress, but after picking it back up I still couldn’t connect with their chemistry. I secretly kept hoping Bailey would form something more with her friend Carter, even though he has his own deep issues with addiction and had friendzoned Bailey as well.
What I did enjoy about the story is that it didn’t gloss over addiction. Addiction is hard and doesn’t go away overnight. It takes hard work and constant upkeep. Showing that Bailey, even after two years, is working on her recovery is a good thing because addiction isn’t something that magically goes away after the drugs leave your system. It is a lifelong process of help, readjusting and having the support you need in your life.
Synopsis:
Unemployed. Check.
Zero prospects. Check.
An eviction notice in hand. Check.
Life in shambles? Check. Check. Check.
Desperate to avoid living on my sister’s couch, I took a job in the one place I shouldn’t.
That’s where I first saw him.
Drew Lawson.
Elusive bad boy.
Owner of the hottest club in the city.
And apparently my new boss.
Temptation comes in many forms.
For me, it’s the way he looks at me.
The way he feels.
He’s my addiction.
My secret.
I know I should keep my distance.
I could lose everything–even myself.
But I can’t.
And neither can he.

Review – Riot Rules by Callie Hart
Riot Rules; Crooked Sinners #2
(A standalone within a series)
by: Callie Hart
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
Riot Rules is a girthy book, but every page is vital to the story and every page is SO worth it!!
Winding through two years worth of story at Wolf Hall we get to witness the ups and downs of several characters through this timeline while still keeping the heart of the story between Dash and Carrie. Trust me when I say you are going to fall deeply in love with Lord Dashiell, and weep for everything that is Carina.
With the length of this book it’s hard to summarize everything that is completely and totally amazing about this book, but one of the best parts I love is how it weaves in and out between the timeline of Riot House. Riot Rules begins well before Elodie ever walks the halls of Wolf Hall and yet this book also ends after Wren and Elodie have their love story. Callie was brilliant in her writing to fit Riot Rules uniquely around that timeline and still gave us a fresh new love story that fit Dash and Carrie on both sides of Riot House along the way.
Dash and Carrie both made my heart soar and plummet to the ground multiple times as I was reading. Doomed lovers, they would appear, from the very beginning. Lord Dashiell is a titled Englishman afterall, only attending school in America after embarrassing his father – in other words, he’s been banished. He is still supposed to return to England and assume his rightful place as a Duke, given he meets his father’s expectations, which wouldn’t mean dating a common place girl. He knows better than to get close to Carrie, for more reasons than just his duty, but try telling that to him whenever she comes close. His brain short circuits, along with other body parts. So is there any harm in just taking a small taste, just this once. Get his infatuation out of his system? He will leave America at some point and his time at Wolf Hall will all be a distant memory, he might as well make the most of it.
Carrie is so far beneath common, she is living a lie. A lie she has become so ingrained telling that she has almost forgotten her real name, not that she’d ever want to return to the filth and squalor she came from, but she needs those lies to save herself from something more dangerous and telling the truth isn’t an option for her. No matter what her body may want, a sinful foreign boy whom she can’t seem to stay away from, her mind knows better. He can never know the truth about her and that is the harsh reality she knows she must face, but until then, she’ll listen to her body. Make the most of the time she has left, what’s the harm in enjoying life?
Trying to contain a lie, a secret, something that should flourish, is never a good idea, especially at Wolf Hall. It always gets out and when it does, it explodes. Dash and Carrie’s romance is a fever that will ignite in your heart and explode through your system. These two will have your heart beating faster and your mind screaming over how to make their love work. Afterall, we know of another titled Englishman and commoner who wed not so long ago.
While there are timelines that coincide and made me giddy, this book also reads as a complete standalone. Although if you haven’t read Riot House yet, I would recommend reading it first just because Riot Rules will give away some of the Ah Ha moments and might spoil those for you, other than that, get ready for an amazing read in Riot Rules. You will not be able to put this book down.
“I break the things I like, love. Trust me. You don’t want me to like you.”
Synopsis:
CARRIE
You think you know me, but you’re wrong.
You look at me and see Carrie, the girl with the wild hair and the wild clothes.
Reliable Carrie. Friendly. Quirky. Perhaps a little strange.
What do you really know about me, though?
The details of my past are up for debate.
I’ve been careful to hide my sins, and even more careful to follow the rules.
I do as I’m told. I keep to myself. I don’t mess around with boys, and I’m always ready to run.
At least that’s what I tell myself, anyway.
Since I met him, I’ve broken every single rule in the book.
He’s impossible. Arrogant. Terrifying.
If I’m not careful, Wolf Hall’s golden boy will do more than make me break the rules. He’ll wind up breaking me.
DASH
First, they hate me, then they hate themselves for wanting me. That’s how it always goes.
I’m the smart one. The charming one. The guy with the accent that makes girls go weak at the knees. As a resident of Riot House, I’m destined to rule Wolf Hall. Doesn’t matter where you come from. How much money you have. What your future holds. Cross the path of a Riot House Boy and you’re guaranteed to pay the price.
The girl isn’t special. She’s just another cog, turning in the wheel. So why, then, am I protecting her? And why am I keeping her a secret?
Call me a monster.
Call me a fiend.
Call me reprehensible.
Call me Lord Dashiell Lovett IV.
*Riot Rules is book two in the Crooked Sinners Series. It is a complete 135,000 word story that can be read as a standalone, or in conjunction with the other books in the series.

Review – Kian’s Focus by Misty Walker
Kian’s Focus; Brigs Ferry Bay #2
(A standalone within a series)
by: Misty Walker
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
A heartfelt story that not only focuses on how love can heal a lonely broken heart, but how family is more than just blood, but the people by your side in your hour of need.
Archer and Kian would seem like an unlikely couple on paper, but boy do their differences fit together perfectly to solve a complete puzzle.
Kian is happy-go-lucky, a man with a plan, organized, put together, and a friend to everyone. His only regret, the one loss in his life, is Jax, his high school boyfriend. Aside from that one heartbreaking moment of never feeling worthy, Kian is the the man everyone comes to for advice, so when Archer, the new man in town doesn’t instantly fall under Kian’s spell – well – Kian just works harder to get Archer on Team Kian. Unfortunately, it gets Kian friendzoned, but little does Kian know that it has more to do with Archer’s past than Kian himself. It doesn’t help when it digs up those old feelings Kian thought he’d buried, but come rushing forward when Archer picks at old insecurities.
Archer comes to Brigs Ferry Bay with a lot of baggage and I’m not talking about the kind you pack in a suitcase. He initially arrives to help his sister with her children who has recently separated from her husband, but the additional benefit of coming to town is escaping from a painful past of his own. Grieving the loss of his long time partner, Archer isn’t looking for a relationship, but when he meets Kian he’s instantly attracted to the charismatic man, something he hasn’t felt in the year since he’d lost Mason. Once he can no longer deny his growing attraction, they agree on a friends-with-benefits arrangement, but will it be enough for the man who always has a plan and is happiness personified? Can he give Kian what he really needs when push comes to shove or will Kian always be waiting for more?
Kian’s Focus is a heavily emotional book that deals with sensitive subjects. Both Kian and Archer want to fix problems (which men always want to fix things – give them a hammer and they will find a nail to pound or insert any other male analogy here), so in their own way they truly want to help, but ultimately the problem isn’t theirs to fix nor is it a male issue at the end of the day. (Oh, see what I did there…I truly don’t want to give away too much of the story, but this book is still going to touch you deeply).
Synopsis:
I lost my boyfriend on the night I had planned to propose.
It was a horrific accident that was all my fault.
I gave up and resigned myself into a life of obscurity.
Until I got a call that my sister, Sara, needed me.
It gave me purpose and I ran to her rescue.
Because that’s what I’ve done our whole lives.
That’s how I ended up in Brigs Ferry Bay.
But when I showed up, things were so much worse than I thought.
She was sullen, fragile, and sinking into a depression I didn’t know how I’d get her out of.
Together, we were drowning.
Until I met Kian.
He’s everything I’m not.
Bouncy, bubbly, full of life, and an innate ability to make everything better.
He makes me believe I can be happy again.
Now the unthinkable has happened and Sara is on the verge of losing her life.
Once again, it’s all my fault.
Kian had clouded my vision with promises of hope and forever.
I was so stupid to believe I could be happy again.
I try push him away.
To shove him out of the darkness that follows me.
I don’t want him to suffer the future fate had secured me to.
But Kian’s focus is on me
And he’s used to getting what he wants.
*Brigs Ferry Bay is a steamy MM romance series. While each book can be read as a standalone, to get the full experience, they’re best read in order.

New Release – Sheriff’s Secret by K. Webster
From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes a
steamy, emotional, enemies-to-lovers small-town MM romance!
The past was all he could see…until him.
When you’re the sheriff of Brigs Ferry Bay, certain things are expected of you.
Marry a local girl, settle down, have a few kids. You know, the small-town dream.
But I’ve got a secret I’m terrified will get out.
I’m gay.
Not bi. Not curious. Not confused.
Just gay.
So, settling for that dream won’t be happening.
If this secret gets out, the people I serve and protect, especially my father, won’t be accepting.
I’m not brave like my high school sweetheart, Kian.
The day he came out was the day I had to let him go, and with it, love.
I’ve done a great job of pretending I’m perfectly fine being single. Until a villainous and annoyingly charming new B&B owner, Dante Kincaid, rolls into town. The spark between us is electric and undeniable. He wants to give me a taste of what he has to offer, and better yet, he vows to be discreet. I’m too selfish to refuse.
But my secret is still a heavy burden, leaving me handcuffed to expectations and unable to fully grasp what I want–him. History has a way of repeating itself, but this time around, with Dante, it’ll hurt a lot worse.
I have to decide if I’m going to let love slip away again or if I’m going to finally fight for it.

West Golden—Football star. Playboy. Dead to me.
Nothing puts the final bullet in a girl’s rep like a leaked sex tape. Especially one starring her and the cocky quarterback who’s had it out for her since day one. Yep, you guessed it. That girl is me.
At Cypress Prep, West is king, but all I see when I look at him is the wicked prick who gets off on trying to break me.
His plaything.
Go ahead. Give him a round of applause for winning that last round, but know this—hell hath no fury like a girl from the south side with a baseball bat.
Hurt me once, shame on you. Hurt me twice… over my dead body.

NEVER HIS GIRL is the highly anticipated continuation of the KINGS OF CYPRESS PREP series. This is book two in a trilogy and should only be read after completing book one, THE GOLDEN BOYS.
This saga contains strong bully themes. So, if you’re not into romances where hate turns into love (… eventually), and if you don’t like your heroes of the unapologetically alpha variety, this might not be the series for you. There is no rape or dubious consent whatsoever. However, due to adult themes and sexual situations, this one’s only for the 18+ crowd.
This series is sure to give you GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL vibes, and the angst will have you burning through the pages to find out what happens next. One-click and get lost in this series today!

Review – Change My Game by Kelsey Clayton
Change My Game; North Haven University #2
(A standalone within a series)
by: Kelsey Clayton
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
My heart was in my stomach from the very first page. Change My Game is a gut wrenching emotional story about redemption, addiction, loss, second chances, and finding yourself at the end of it all.
Kelsey really dove into the underbelly of Jace and Paige and plucked out all of their emotions, bringing forth their depth and letting it drip off the pages so it would sink into your soul.
Change My Game is a heavy hitter romance with two characters that carry a lot of emotional baggage into their second chance meeting. Jace is set out to self destruct and destroy not only himself mentally, physically, emotionally, but pretty much anyone who gets in his path. The only person who seems to care is his best friend, Carter, and Jace works pretty hard at abusing that friendship at every turn. Carter reaches out to the one person in their past who might help, but it’s a long shot given how she ghosted from their lives. The one person who was a constant friend growing up and eventually became more, Paige.
Paige is back in North Haven, but she is barely able to keep her own emotional baggage in check. Her father is sick and she’s back helping her mother keep him comfortable in his final days. Paige doesn’t have time to take on Jace’s baggage, but at Carter’s insistence she also can’t seem to walk away. At one point in time Jace was important in her life and then suddenly he wasn’t. She may have been the one to cut ties almost two years ago, but would she be okay knowing he was really hurt now when she could be the one help. Stepping in to his world again is one of the easiest and hardest things to do, but who ever said matters of the heart are easy.
The agony of both Jace and Paige and what they are going through bled off the pages and tore through my heart. Kelsey filled the story not only with love and friendship, but twists and turns that had my gripping my kindle and needing moments to pause, stop and mentally scream. To say Kelsey changed the game with this book seems punny, but instead what she really did was upped her game for the entire series.
Change My Game is a non-stop read through once you begin, but prepare for this game changer.
Synopsis:
My name is Jace London,
And I may have screwed up.
I’ve always been the guy who had it all.
Privilege, entitlement, and a life of luxury.
But after one college night gone tragically wrong,
Nothing has ever been the same.
Everyone thinks I should be happy.
With a trust fund like mine, who could be sad?
But no one knows what’s going on with me,
Or the nightmares that keep me awake at night.
I finally found salvation in a parent’s worst nightmare.
The only thing to ease the pain just enough to breathe.
My friends are worried I’m going to ruin myself.
What they don’t realize, is I’m already dead inside.
Now they’re ready to pull out all the stops,
Including a therapist that gets paid an ungodly price.
No amount of money can bring back the guy I was,
But the girl that got away might be enough to try.
Gorgeous, strong, and confident to a fault.
If anyone can save me from myself, it’s her.
Change My Game is a standalone and part of the North Haven University series. It deals with sensitive topics that may be triggering for some readers.

Review – Dark by Aleatha Romig
Dark; Dangerous Web #2
(#2 in the trilogy)
by: Aleatha Romig
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
Dark is the second book in the Dangerous Web trilogy and should not be read alone.
We find ourselves in the eye of the storm, in complete darkness, blind from all sides.
Dark is infused throughout this entire story. Dark thoughts consume Reid; revenge, remorse, regret, everything he should have done to help keep his wife safe and everything he will do to avenge her time captive rolls through his mind on a continual loop. Will he be able to protect her and give her the safety she needs move past this trama?
Lorna, while found, is also consumed by darkness. The dark hole that resides in her mind where memories are missing, the dark hole that resides in her chest connected to the abduction, and the overall spiral of darkness that seems to suck her down on a daily basis. Will she ever feel normal again?
While Lorna just wants to remember so she can feel normal and move forward, everyone around her keeps stating she needs to rest and needs time. These are the very last things she wants to do, as the darkness consumes her when she closes her eyes and she fears what will happen if Reid gets his chance to opportunity for revenge.
More twists and turn as the story weaves in and out from past to present. This book is dark; facing abuse, trama, and recovering from abduction. Looking at both sides of the victim and the loved ones who want to care for the victim, but both struggling through the recovery.
Who will Reid seek his revenge on and will it be in time to save Lorna from sinking too far into her own darkness? Jump into this intense suspenseful read and become Aleatha’d.
*I personally don’t do many trigger warnings, but there is a scene that is pretty in depth that could be trigger-some if you were ever a victim of sexual child abuse. So, either skip this part, or know this trilogy contains this subject matter.
Synopsis:

Review – Fury by Tracy Lorraine
Fury; Rosewood High #6
(A standalone within a series)

Review/Synopsis:
Review:
What an emotional ride! Ashton is going to roll into your heart and leave it a bloody, aching mess and blow away all your expectations.
After reading Faze, I was desperately aching for more of Ashton. I love a good bad boy and Ashton came riding into Rosewood darker than dark. He was hellbent to destroy Ruby and the small taste Tracy gave us left me salivating for how this bad boy was going to fall.
When Ashton is sent to live with his estranged father the first time he goes out of his way to make Ruby’s life a living nightmare, but when his feelings change for her and become too much he leaves and moves back to Seattle to live with his mother. This is where we pick up the story in Fury months later after Ashton has left.
Ashton has fallen back into old habits while back home in Seattle, which was the main reason his mother wanted him to live with his father. His old habits had him circling the drain of gang activity and those habits unfortunately lead to tragedy that change the course of Ashton’s life forever.
Ashton was angry and dark in Faze, but this time he spirals into a darker grief spiral that will really break your heart. His pain is deep and toxic, but at the same time so relatable you understand why Ruby is drawn to him and wants to ease his suffering. This doesn’t stop him from using her to make her feel like he does. He’s toxic, he knows it, and he wants to ruin her life the same way his has been ruined.
Ruby’s life circles around cheer and hopefully getting the national title this year. She doesn’t need an angry stepbrother stepping into her life messing with her head or her life when she’s so close to achieving her goal. However, whenever Ashton is near she can’t seem to stay away and whenever he seems to be sinking she can’t seem to help, even if it might hurt her in the long run.
The push and pull of these two is unlike any of other of Tracy’s characters. I felt Ashton’s pain so deeply, while at the same time I emphasized with Ruby’s need to immerse herself in his pain to help him through it. What could have seemed like reprehensible behaviour instead came across as relatable and both Ashton and Ruby gave us that sympathy through deeper emotions. These are truly two of Tracy’s best written characters.
I’m also very excited with a few directions that could come out of secondary characters for future stories.
Step back into Rosewood and buckle up for an emotional ride.
I highly recommend reading FAZE before reading FURY. It’s a short prequel to Ashton and Ruby’s story and highlights the beginning to their tumultuous relationship.
I shouldn’t be fazed by him…
He turned up like a ghost in the night, determined to make me scream.
But he’s no ghost, he’s as real as the feelings I try not to have.
My illusive stepbrother, has everyone fooled. Except me.
One look into his dark eyes and I know.
He’s pure evil. Haunting my house… and my darkest dreams.
Pursuing me to prove a point and determined to make his stay as excruciating as possible.
I already know I’m going to get burned but I can’t help myself, like a moth I’m drawn to his black flame.
One thing’s for sure, after this Halloween, I’m never going to be the same again.
Dear Reader
Faze is a prequel to Rosewood High #6. It’s a dark high school bully romance and not intended for readers under 17.
Synopsis:
My step-sister was an outlet for my pain, but everything has changed.
Now, I’ve got nothing to lose.
I’m infuriated by my feelings for her…
They’ve held me captive all this time.
I might have been the one that walked away, but that doesn’t mean I’m not still haunted by her—by what I did to her.
But that’s the thing about ghosts… they always return when you least expect it.
My stepsister was an outlet for my pain, but everything has changed.
Now I’ve got nothing to lose.
If she thought I hated her the first time we met, then she’s about to get a shock.
The rage I felt didn’t compare to the fury that now consumes me.
I might be empty, but I’m going to show her how it feels by taking away everything she has… one painful piece at a time.
FURY is the sixth book in my Rosewood High series. You can read the beginning of this couples story in their prequel FAZE.

Review:
Jammed packed full of sports stories that range from football to baseball all the way to lacrosse and roller derby. There is a taste for everyone especially since the stories also range from spicy to sweet. I dare you to find something you don’t like since this anthology has such a diverse offering.
A few of my favorites are:
Always Looking to Score by Coralee June and Carrie Gray – Dale and Shelby made me smile through this entire short story. Dale is normally confident with a capital C, but Shelby makes him work for his swagger as she uses his masculine form for her art project. The whole vision for this project was amazing and made me giggle while swooning!
The Midfielder’s Defensemen by Elle Joraco – Ryan Kelfield joins a new co-ed lacrosse team and is excited for the transition from an all girls team at her new school. Although when she gets to school she discovers the co-edness of the team is all on her part as the only woman. While not everyone is welcoming, most of her teammates are and a few are might even be looking for something more than being just a teammate on the field.
Some stories are complete games while others are just season openers with the longer game to come later, but have no doubt you’ll enjoy this anthology no matter what story you read.
Synopsis:
The last quarter.
The final inning.
Whatever it takes, you have to give it all you’ve got.
When that clock is ticking down, remember how hard you’ve trained, how many hours you put in. Strap on your pads, wrap your hands, tie up those cleats. Whether on the field or in a rink, you’ve got this. This is your day, your time to shine. It doesn’t matter what game you play.
In the end, all you have to do is Make it Count.
Twenty-three authors bring you nineteen stories full of hope and love.
This anthology in memory of Josie McIntyre, who was an avid softball player who was tragically lost too young. All proceeds for this anthology will go toward a scholarship fund in her memory.

Review – The Fourth Time Charm by Maya Hughes
The Fourth Time Charm; Fulton U #4
(An interconnected standalone within a series)
by: Maya Hughes
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
A friends to lovers book with so much emotion it will leak out of your eyes.
The Fourth Time Charm interconnects with the other Fulton U stories and even the Kings of Rittenhouse. I love that so hard!! However, this is also a complete standalone probably more than the other Fulton U books were. LJ and Marisa live in a bubble within their own love story where the secondary characters come and go and if you haven’t read the other books you will not be lost, I promise you.
LJ Lewis is deeply in love with his childhood best friend, Marisa. Like, deeply, madly, so far in love with his best friend he will do anything for her.
“I’ve loved her since we were fifteen. It’s never going away.”
Swoon, right!! He keeps those feelings locked up refusing to lose her friendship over telling her how he feels, especially when he’s tried a few times in the past and they’ve all blown up in his face. He’s lost in how to express how he feels, especially since the football coach is her estranged father. The very man who has his future and his balls, if he were to actually date his daughter, in the palm of his hand.
Marisa also feels the same way about LJ, although I’d call what she feels for him, just surface love, as I’m not sure she understands how to deal with more than that. Don’t get me wrong, she is still very much in love with him, she just has layers and layers of issues to work on when it comes to understanding how to show that love, but there are lots of reasons why that is.
Marisa had a crappy childhood, there is no doubt about it. Her father left at an early age, which caused feelings of abandonment, and then her mother basically checked out, furthering those feelings. It’s hard to understand what love is when the most important people in your life basically tossed you aside. It isn’t until her father, who is the head coach at Fulton U, wants to try at a relationship (after a little more than ten years of abandonment) that Marisa even tries for some sort of connection with her father and she takes LJ, her best friend, along to those get togethers, never realizing that it puts his future in threat.
These two have been the rock for each other since elementary school. Furthering their bond when Marisa donated bone marrow to LJ’s dad when he was sick. It’s hard to feel like LJ would really love her for her and not just as a donor in the off chance his dad ever became sick again. There are so many emotional layers to their bond, it’s no wonder they’ve never uncovered it to reach for more, as much as their hearts may want to.
The Fourth Time Charm is probably Maya’s most emotional book in her Fulton U series, while at the same time it contains the sweetest hero and heroine of all of her books. LJ has the to be the most caring man I’ve read in the longest time. Not only does he love his family, but he loves Marisa something fierce. He takes the world upon his shoulders and will do anything for those he cares about. That is abrimonable in anyone, especially someone of his young age.
Marisa is so strong for what she’s been through in her young life. LJ has been her only constant and she doesn’t want to lose him. A romantic entanglement is so risky, no matter what her hormones scream, so it’s completely understandable that she’s scared to risk something further. She doesn’t understand that LJ loves her no matter what. Marisa has never understood what that means.
The Fourth Time Charm made me giddy with happiness, it also made me sad with emotions, it made me fall in love with these two and their long time friendship turned lovers. It was truly everything Maya could have given us.

Excerpt
What I discerned from his emails was that he was smart, polite, instinctual, not in the habit of complaining about a workload he couldn’t have anticipated, and eager.
But I’d known that already, hadn’t I?
I almost shuddered at the thought, the same as I almost shuddered again when I looked at him.
He was beautiful.
Absolutely fucking beautiful.
I’d never thought a man could be that. Not because I believed in outdated stereotypes or that beauty was a woman’s domain and not a guy’s. But because I looked to men for certain things, and appearances rarely mattered.
In the dark, all sins were covered.
Scars, tattoos, zits, the places I frequented when I was in a mood hid all those from sight.
I went to dark rooms to be fucked. For the adrenaline rush. For the release. For the freedom to be me, a ‘me’ who could only ever be allowed out amid the shadows. For the danger. No holes barred, no rules… liberation in its purity.
So, no, men to me weren’t about looking for some eye candy to drool over. If they had a cock, my ass was ready to be reamed. Simple as.
But Micah proved me wrong.
Green eyes that were like glass, skin like cream, lips that were pillowy and reminded me of exactly why being sucked off by him was delicious…
For a second, he was all I saw. In the cheap suit that was surprisingly smart, in the colors that offset his hair and skin tone, that made his eyes pop even greener in the light from the wall of windows behind me… It was like some mystical creature had wandered through my doors.
Then Sadie cleared her throat, drawing my attention her way.
I blinked, spied her confusion, and beamed a smile at her. It was her turn to blink, before she licked her lips and a little breathily asked, “Would you like coffee, sir?”
“Please. What would you like to drink?”
“Sadie knows my preferences. Thank you,” Micah said to me, before casting her a look that encompassed his gratitude to my receptionist.
Something had changed in his posture, flittering from nerves at being called into my office—interns were so beyond my radar this meeting was a joke—to agitated.
He twisted to watch Sadie go, saw her peer back at me with a fleeting glance that spoke of her crush on me, and the next time he glanced my way, I saw his pique.
Understood it.
What stunned me was that I wasn’t mad…

About Serena I’m a romance bookaholic and I won’t touch a book unless I know there’s a happy ending. This addiction is what made me craft stories that suit my voracious need for raunchy romance. I love twists and unexpected turns, and my novels all contain sexy guys, dark humor, and hot AF love scenes.
I write MF, Menage, and Reverse Harem (also known as Why Choose romance,) in both contemporary and paranormal. Some of my stories are darker than others, but I can promise you one thing, you will always get the happy ending your heart needs!

Review – Rebel by Laura Pavlov
Rebel; Montgomery Brothers #3
(A standalone within a series)
by: Laura Pavlov
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
A totally adorable fake boyfriend, enemy-to-lover romance. Laura Pavlov is a new author to me and I’m in love with her writing.
Everyone loves Jack Montgomery, everyone except Monroe Buckley that is. She’s the little sister of his best friend which means she’s completely off limits, but somehow his hormones won’t take the memo. The fire she throws back at him on a daily basis just does it for him and he wants to win her over, or maybe he just wants her fire. He isn’t sure, except at the end of the day he really can’t have her because she’s his best friends little sister. Off. Limits.
Monroe used to have a crush on Jack, years ago, but that ended when he showed her his manwhore ways. As the most eligible bachelor in town he is never hard up for a date, so as much as he irritates her, when a picture of them goes viral, she hates that she has to use him as a fake boyfriend to save their jobs. More than that, she hates that she likes being his fake girlfriend. Nothing can come from it, he was her brother’s best friend first which means he’ll never be hers.
Their chemistry is through the roof and the more time they spend together the more they realize their fake relationship might not be so fake. If only they didn’t have so many obstacles to jump over, perhaps they could be something real.
I loved Jack so much. He is so self deprecating and light hearted, I was snickering through the entire book with his antics. He is also madly in love with his family, which is endearing, especially when his nieces are born…sigh…he’s the best uncle.
Monroe is a bit intense at times, but it works so well with Jack’s laid back attitude, they balanced each other out. I think if she eased off, their relationship wouldn’t have worked as well as it did. She actually takes all the sarcasm and jokes from everyone in her life really well, which also helped smooth out her hard edges.
Rebel is adorable with chemistry through the roof and great secondary characters. A must read.
Synopsis:
Jack
I’m always down for a good time. I’m that guy.
I love women. I love sex. And I love my life.
Go big or go home, right?
My father’s death is a constant reminder of why I like to keep it simple.
Life is short.
Emotional attachments make you weak.
Grieving sucks. And I have no interest in caring deeply for anyone outside of my family.
I’m not looking for complications.
Monroe Buckley is a complication.
She’s driven.
She’s focused.
And she’s my best friend’s little sister.
Not happening.
But once we’re forced to spend time together…I only want more.
Too bad she’s the one woman who is off-limits.
MONROE
I don’t trust most people, and I have my reasons.
I’m passionate about my work, and I came here to do a job.
Not date the boss.
Getting hired at the top media company in the city is the break of my life.
But it means working for Jack Montgomery.
My one-time crush.
My brother’s best friend.
And the current thorn in my side.
He’s exactly what I want to avoid.
Yet he’s everywhere I turn. Even when he’s not there—he’s in my head.
He’s a magnet for attention.
A heartbreak just waiting to happen.
And my heart is something I fiercely protect. At all costs.
They say the heart wants what the heart wants…
But my heart isn’t allowed to make that decision anymore.
There’s too much to lose.

Review – Sheriff’s Secret by K. Webster
Sheriff’s Secret; Brigs Ferry Bay #1
(A standalone within a series)
by: K. Webster
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
K. Webster has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The depth and emotion she writes into her characters never fails to touch me and the extra spicy bits are written with panty melting passion, the combination is magic!
Sheriff’s Secret is sweet, funny, and steamy with a drop of mystery and suspense added in. It’s the perfect contemporary romance to begin a new series.
Jaxson is the sheriff of the small town of Brigs Ferry. He is a tormented soul with a huge heart worried about pleasing everyone else in his life and his image in the town more than about his own happiness. He’s watched how his father treats people who don’t conform and at a time in his life, when he was younger, Jaxson looked up to his role model-his father- he wanted to please him, and being different didn’t fit. Jax gave up the one thing, the one person who made him happy-his boyfriend. Years later and Jax still feels a gaping hole in his chest at the loneliness of that decision, but he’s the sheriff now and the town looks up to him, he could never jump into a relationship with a man and lose their respect. He’s decided being alone is the sacrifice he’s made to keep the town safe.
When Dante, a NY city slicker moves to town, most of the small town people aren’t fond of the changes taking place, especially knowing that Dante is building a B&B which will bring even more outsiders into their community. What kind of supervillion is this man anyway? When Jax meets Dante for the first time and he suddenly is feeling things that he hasn’t felt for anyone else since his high school love, Jax knows Dante must be some sort of devil incarnate. Only an evil villain would pull his attention the way Dante has and look so good doing it. Jax tries everything to stay away, well except to actually physically stay away, because something draws him to the city slicker and he just can’t help himself.
Dante is openly gay and his type is certainly not a grouchy, closeted sheriff. He has enough on his plate with opening his new B&B and raising his younger brother. Dante isn’t looking for a relationship, a hookup perhaps, but certainly nothing more. So, how is it Jax pulls him in over and over, his vulnerability and loneliness speaks to Dante when he knows he should keep him at arms length, but how is that possible when Jax is continually allowing him inside his closet.
Agreeing to a secret relationship, Jax gets a taste of what he’s been missing and Dante gets his “weekend hookup”. It is certainly something they jumped into with eyes wide open, but like most things as it evolves they both became blind to the ever evolving changes around them and the evil that lurks in Brigs Ferry might just destroy them both.
Both men have so many sides that as they open up to one another they will crawl into your heart and make it impossible to forget about this town. They are both so caring about their friends and family, I wish I lived in Brigs Ferry just to know them personally.
I loved this story on a personal level, as I’ve known men who have lived a closeted life. It’s a sad reality on the ripple effect of everyone around them and knowing what the person struggled with during and viewing the consequences after they came out as well, especially when they were married and had children. Webster bled all of these lonely thoughts into Jax as he personally struggled with these ideas. Did he want to live a lie? Did he want to live alone? No matter how much he wanted to push his circle into a square hole he struggled to make it fit and Webster expresses those emotions on paper beautifully and at the perfect moments with laughter.
Synopsis:
From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes a steamy and emotional MM romance!
But my secret is still a heavy burden, leaving me handcuffed to expectations and unable to fully grasp what I want—him. History has a way of repeating itself, but this time around, with Dante, it’ll hurt a lot worse.
I have to decide if I’m going to let love slip away again or if I’m going to finally fight for it.
***Brigs Ferry Bay is a steamy MM romance series. While each book can be read as a standalone, in order to get the full experience, they’re best read in order. Enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, hurt comfort, age-gap romance, and so much more. Fall in love with the charming small-town gay romances of Brigs Ferry Bay…***

Unfortunately, that becomes tricky when the man in charge of distribution is none other than Sullivan Kenne, the cowboy who ran out on her seven years ago.
Sullivan’s life has been filled with one wrong move after another. First, he tried to prove himself to his bastard father by joining a professional baseball team, a choice Sullivan still regrets. Then he bailed on Clara, the only woman he’s ever loved. Seeing her again makes Sullivan determined to right his wrongs. Unfortunately, he wasn’t counting on one of those wrongs being a six-year-old son he never knew about…
Reuniting with Clara and meeting his son is a shocking—and amazing—experience. But as much as Sullivan tries to return to his roots and be the stand-up cowboy of Clara’s dreams, the reality is that she’s having trouble trusting him. Luckily, Sullivan knows the way to Clara’s heart, and he’ll prove to her that a second chance with a cowboy is worth the risk.

Excerpt
“How long has it been since you’ve done something like this?” she asked.
“Seven years.”
“Seriously? Seven years?”
The light from the fire was impressively bright, revealing the chiseled lines of his cheekbones. “Life is different in Boston,” he explained, gaze on the sky. “Not so quiet. And when we travel for games, we always play in big cities. I don’t get the chance to get out to places where the city lights don’t hide the stars.”
She looked to the sky herself, spotting the milky way. Over the years, many of her old high school friends had moved away with big city dreams. She’d never had those dreams herself, loving small-town life. The old Sullivan she knew would have hated the big city too. She figured she better get to know this Sullivan. “Do you like the big city?” she asked.
“Parts of it,” he said. “Some parts, I don’t.”
She smiled, dropping her head to the side to watch his expression. “Like the bars?”
The side of his mouth curved before he glanced her way, lifting an eyebrow. “You saw the tabloid article, then?”
She nodded. Everyone saw all the articles about him. Every week, on a new issue in the grocery store line. “What’s going on with all of that? The bar fights and stuff?” And, of course, by “stuff,” she totally meant women.
Obviously picking up on that, Sullivan’s mouth quirked up at the corner again. “Does the stuff wear dresses and high heels?”
She sent her gaze to the fire. “It’s none of my business. You don’t have to talk about it. It’s just…”
“Just what?”
She felt his stare. “You were always a one-woman type of guy. What changed?”
“Nothing,” he said in a quiet voice. She dared to look at him then, and his jaw was clenched, tension creasing the lines around his eyes while he watched the fire burn. “The women, they’re a distraction.”
“From?” she pressed, not even sure why she wanted to know the answer so bad.
The heat from the fire became all-encompassing as he drew in the longest, deepest breath then blew it out through his nose. “From the shit that gets heavy in my head.”
She froze, shocked by his answer. Of all the things she had expected him to say, that certainly wasn’t it. For fun. Because I don’t want anything serious. Something like that, not anything deep.
At the silence, he turned his head to the side, watching her closely. “Distractions help me take a break from that.”
“I suppose they would,” she agreed gently. She had seen the guy she loved fade when his mom passed away, but he was lost forever when his father’s abuse started. But right here, right now, she could almost see the guy he’d been when his mother was alive. The good guy, the guy who wouldn’t simply vanish from someone’s life so cruelly. “What about this bar fight that got you suspended?”
“It never should have happened,” he said, looking back to the sky with a heavy sigh. “I’m careful not to drink too much, to always stay in control, but that night, my control slipped.”
She took a guess. “Because of your dad dying?”
“I suspect my dad’s death had something to do with it, yeah.” The shame on his face was more punishment than anyone should endure, and the orange hue from the fire detailed every bit of it. “We were leaving the bar, me and a bunch of teammates, and we came across an asshole fighting with his girlfriend. He was screaming at her, and then he pushed her, and she fell.” He stopped to take a deep breath before continuing. “I didn’t know them. I had no business interfering. But something in my head snapped, and I acted before I even knew what was happening.”
“Wait,” Clara said, trying to understand. “Why didn’t you say that the guy was hurting his girlfriend? I’d say that’s forgivable. You were protecting her.”
“Because I’m no better, Clara,” Sullivan said, dryly. He turned his head then, revealing many years of pain in his eyes. “I put my hands on someone in violence, in rage. That is unforgivable.”
She tried to see it his way, but failed. “No, you were giving the guy a taste of his own medicine. Seriously, Sullivan, people would have sided with you.” She watched him for a moment, looking for a single flicker of agreement with her on his expression. Trying to understand, she asked, “So, instead of explaining that, you took the suspension?”
“That’s right.”
She processed, scenting the piney aroma from the trees hugging the firepit. Nothing felt…right. Something was missing. She sat up straight, scooting to the end of her chair to face him fully. “Why are you home, Sullivan?” she asked.
His brows drew together. “You already know why. To get my head right.”
She considered all this again, but something seemed off. “I know what you told me. A bar fight led to a suspension, and you came home to deal with your past because of the fight. But to avoid all of that, all you had to do was tell the truth about what happened. So, again, why are you here?”
Their gazes held before he looked back at the fire. It seemed like he wasn’t going to answer her, but then she almost wished he hadn’t. “When I sobered up that next day at the police station, I knew I was on my way to becoming him.”
“Your father?”
“Yes,” he said slowly.
Clara’s heart squeezed painfully, her breath all but gone.
Before she could even think up a reply, he added, “Of course, not completely. I still think the guy I hit deserved it. But I realized I became the very thing I hate. I pushed all the bad shit down deep enough that I felt nothing. Just rage. Until it all exploded.” He turned his head again, torment swirling in the depths of his eyes, and said oh-so softly, “My dad did that until there was nothing left of him, until only rage lived in the spots that were once good. So, that’s why I’m here, Clara. To face the shit that makes me feel uncomfortable so that doesn’t happen to me.”
The world seemed to slow as coldness swept across her. Not knowing what to say, she looked to the fire because, just like that, the years vanished. This was the Sullivan she did know, and she, behind all the hurt and worry for Mason’s well-being, loved this man. But he was drowning in the dark misery and desperately wanted a way out, but unable to find it.
“Clara.”
His soft voice pulled her focus to his warm, gentle eyes.
“I’m sorry for leaving you the way I did.” His voice blistered. “I’m sorry I wasn’t strong enough to be what you needed.”
Tears welled in her eyes, and nothing could stop them from rolling down her cheeks. For as long as she could remember, she’d wanted an explanation, an apology. Now she had those things, but only one truth remained: they’d both done their best in a terrible situation that no one deserved. As much as she wanted to blame Sullivan for leaving and breaking her heart, she couldn’t. Her aching heart reached for him. “I’m sorry I wasn’t strong enough to help you.”

A sexy best friend’s brother romance from bestselling authors Lauren Blakely and Lili Valente!
I’m the wrong guy for her.
She’s sunshine and cherry pie. I’m whiskey and fast cars. I’m also keeping one hell of a secret from the woman I’ve wanted for years.
But when I find a list my sister left behind for Ruby, I’ve got no choice but to offer the sexy, big-hearted girl next door both a road trip and a chance.
A chance to discover how big she can dream.
And if some of those dreams play out in the bedroom? Well, there’s nothing wrong with a few — okay, several — hot nights together as we hit the beach, visit old stomping grounds, and test all sorts of limits, in and out of the sheets.
Seven days, then I’m off, moving across the country, far away from her.
No way can things get complicated in a week. Ruby and I aren’t the kind of dream that has a shot of coming true.
Especially once she learns what I’ve done.
GOOD WITH HIS HANDS is a sexy standalone romance in the Good in Bed series!

Prologue from I Dare You, Book One
COLE
Have you ever been to a funeral where the preacher stands before the friends and loved ones of the deceased and talks about how shitty the person was? How he fucked around on his wife? Or spent his family’s life savings to feed his gambling addiction? How about during his bachelor party when he snorted coke off a hooker’s ass?
Me neither.
Why is it that we’re fucking saints the moment we die?
You hear the preacher say things like, “Oh, John Smith was a lovely man who loved his wife and kids,” when he should really be saying, “John Smith was a worthless piece of shit who fucked the underage babysitter every chance he fucking got while his wife was busy working two jobs and raising his ungrateful children.”
And let’s not forget that the deceased in that casket before you never even went to church. Let alone knew the preacher who speaks so highly of him. All he knows are the stories the blinded loved ones wrote down on a little card for him to share.
He’s a fucking puppet.
Now, I haven’t read the Bible word for word, but I know the Lord says if we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, he will cleanse our souls, and we will be forgiven.
Poof. It’s like magic.
That begs the question–what if you’re not sorry? What if you don’t care to be forgiven?
No amount of holy water could cleanse my soul, and I’m okay with that because when I sinned, I understood that I would one day have to pay. We’re all going to die eventually. You can be one of those people who bury your head in the sand to avoid talking about it all you want, but it’s life!
Live or die.
Heaven or hell.
Angel or devil.
It’s black and white. There are no gray areas.
So tell me … when you’re lying in that casket in front of your friends and family, what are they going to think of you? Are they going to believe that preacher who talks bullshit, or are they going to know you didn’t care if you were going to burn for eternity?
I’m not a religious person. Obviously. But I do know this. When I am damned to hell, it’ll be because I fucking earned it.

New Release – Feisty Red by Stacey Kennedy

She’s prepared for anything… except for the second chance with her cowboy ex she never saw coming.
Feisty Red, an all-new spicy second-chance romance from USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy, is available now!

Clara Carter is the brains behind Three Chicks Brewery. The oldest and most responsible of the Carter sisters, she doesn’t have time for anything but taking care of her son and making sure her family’s top beer, Foxy Diva, gets into bars across North America. Which means getting the brew in front of Colorado’s biggest beer distributor.

New Release – The Intern by Serena Akeroyd

Sex comes with a price tag.
One I’m quite willing to pay.
The Intern, an all-new contemporary MM standalone romance from Serena Akeroyd, is available now!

Devlin
Sex comes with a price tag.
One I’m quite willing to pay.
In fact, I prefer it.
It’s easier that way, and in my life, I prefer ease. Prefer for most things to be transactional.
So when the intern disrupts my day, I’m not happy about it. I have a dark and dirty little secret he knows about. One that could destroy my reputation in a world where reputation is everything.
That makes him dangerous.
He could ruin me professionally, wreck my life, but the touch of his mouth to mine, the feel of him in my arms—they’re all I can think about.
I’m intoxicated.
Drunk on him, when I’ve always been sober.
Micah
I’m gay.
The freedom in admitting that is intoxicating. Enough to make me feel drunk with the relief of finally being myself.
But what feels better?
Devlin.
He’s my boss. He holds my future in his hands in more ways than he knows, but he isn’t as free as I am. Doesn’t have the same freedom I do to own up to what he is.
Because of that, I know I’m losing him.
I can feel us becoming DOA.
But is he worth fighting for when he won’t admit what I am to him? What we mean to one another?
I guess you’ll have to read on to find out…
THE INTERN is a standalone contemporary MM romance, with an easter egg for fans of Serena Akeroyd’s novels.

About Serena
I’m a romance bookaholic and I won’t touch a book unless I know there’s a happy ending.

Review – Silver Lining by Skye Warren
Silver Lining; Diamond #3
(#3 in a trilogy)
by: Skye Warren
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
Intense and explosive conclusion to Skye Warren’s Diamond trilogy.
Four lives have been intertwined for years dating back to a trip to Paris. When Holly and London were teenage girls visiting the city of love, Holly met Elijah and her life changed forever. Neither knew that years later their lives would take the turns it did, but even given their horrific circumstances neither would ever take it back, for even given the small window they had they knew a powerful love.
Silver Lining is told from multiple POV’s. While Holly and Elijah have reached a tipping point in their lives; Holly has been shot and Elijah doesn’t know if he’s able to save her from her gunshot wounds or from the threat closing in even if she survives. She shot a US Colonel, even if he was dirty, and there is no escaping what the military will do to her. Love doesn’t save every situation and Elijah knows there will be no happy ending for them.
Elijah has proven again and again what an amazing hero he is throughout this series. Yes, he’s alpha to the extreme, but he has to be to endure what the military has put him through. His inner alpha beast certainly calls to Holly and these two are hot in every instance they spend together. I love that she’s just as territorial about him as he is about her. Which brings us to Adam, the one man who really brings out Elijah’s inner beast when it comes to Holly.
When we last saw Adam, Elijah had left him with a bullet wound in his side and London was trying to get her life in order after detoxing. These two are a mess, but somehow their mess works when they are focused on each other. I love that these two have come full circle and had a chance at redemption knowing a very different ending could have come about for both of them. I’d love to see a more in depth story between these two, but that is hopefully wishing.
This entire trilogy is high action, high heat, and super high intensity. It’s one you don’t want to miss.
Synopsis:
Elijah North has survived starvation and torture. Now he faces his darkest challenge: the possibility of life without Holly Frank. The woman he loves hangs in the balance. The family he found mourns in the distance. And the future he built crumbles in the wind.
SILVER LINING is the final book in Elijah and Holly’s story!

Review – Never His Girl by Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne
Never His Girl; Kings of Cypress Prep #2
(#2 within a series)
by: Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne
Review Rating:
Review/Synopsis:
Review:
Floored, stunned, and emotionally all over the place. Never His Girl is twisty with turns down avenues I did not expect and with a Golden boy I was not prepared for.
If you were raging after The Golden Boys, the fallout from that cliffhanger lingers. A mistake that West realizes he made, is not something easy to come back from and Blue is shredded from the devastation.
I love that we see what that horrible mistake does to West’s life. It’s not quite the crushing, overwhelming blow that it is to Blue’s life, but there is still fallout and West has to hold the pieces of his own life together while fixing the fragile threads of what he wants with Blue.
Blue’s life is falling apart piece by piece and West Golden is just one huge piece of what’s gone wrong in her life. Just when she thought she could trust him he proved her horribly wrong. Now he can vanish, the only problem with that plan is he won’t leave her alone. Not everything is fixable, but he shows up around every corner. Who will give in first? West and Blue have both proven they are nothing if not stubborn and strong willed.
Never His Girl is full of emotions, a mystery that has layers of wickedness, and ends on a cliffhanger that will leave your mouth hanging wide open.
This series has certainly pulled me in and made me ache for the final installment. I love not only Blue and West, but I want to know more about the other Golden boys, Blue’s friends and family. I hope we get more of this world once Blue and West find their HEA. I’m hooked.
Synopsis:
West Golden–Football star. Playboy.
Go ahead. Give him a round of applause for winning that last round, but know this–hell hath no fury like a girl from the south side with a baseball bat.
Hurt me once, shame on you. Hurt me twice… over my dead body.
***
Smooches,
RJ & NT
