Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Funny, entertaining, and disturbing, but all in the best way possible! I LOVED IT!!

Loch is pretentious d**k, but he’s also thousands of years old and a princely demon, so his attitude makes sense. I loved everything about Loch, but I’m also glad I’m not a soul that has been sent down below for him to torture. His job is to literally punish evil and wicked souls and he thrives off of it, maybe not as much as likes to slake his lust, but a lot of times they go hand in hand, so that is a bonus of his job.

Loch’s attitude and lack of human morals really make sense when he is summoned to earth, but the more I got to know Loch those human morals we sometimes hold so high, well, honestly they start to grey. He may not be prince charming or even a white knight, but I would definitely put him in the anti-hero or dark knight category. Loch is protective of those who fall within his orbit, and while he certainly has zero filter and doesn’t understand a lot of human ways, he has a ton of character growth. Loch is like a bumbling toddler in manners with a crazy high libedo in the bedroom and serial killer tendencies with those he cares about who get hurt. He’s perfect!

Mishka didn’t mean to literally summon a demon into her life, she was both trying to move on from her cheating ex and help out her best friend with her witching spells (Leena is a ton of fun as a secondary character). Mishka honestly didn’t think anything would happen, but when a gorgeous man appears in her home and he told her he wasn’t leaving her life until they supposedly consummated the summoning. Yeah, she might feel like she was going crazy when he first appeared, but she also wasn’t crazy enough to sleep with a demon.

No matter what Mishka does Loch won’t leave and she refuses to stoop into sleeping with him. He’s crass, bold, (he’s sexy, but she won’t tell him that) and he continually says the wrong thing. However, when he stops long enough to actually not act like the demon he truly is, she actually starts liking him. What the h.e.double l hockey sticks could she be thinking? She should really start to question her sanity because they could never work. Even when it’s safe to say…she might actually be falling him. A demon and a human has that ever worked in history?

I loved everything about this story, but I especially loved how Charity twisted an old tale (yes, the oldest tale ever) into her own story. I also loved the inclusivity of love and how souls played into who we are vs. the human views we place on people. Everything was absolutely brilliant!

There was a lot of suspension of disbelief that went into reading this story, but I feel that is true with any paranormal book. The gore is high, but weirdly enough because this is a completely fictional world, the disbelief made the gore easier to swallow. However, Charity put the warnings in there if graphic violence is not your thing.

Synopsis:

Mishka
Angels, demons… the afterlife.
I’d always thought they were bullshit.
Until all my misguided beliefs were proven wrong by an infuriating, flippant asshole with horns who has no concept of boundaries.
Summoning him was never the plan, especially since I’m not willing to do what it takes to send him back.
If I’ve learned anything from Loch, it’s that preconceived ideas are usually false, and the truth is much messier than fables.
The theory of good and evil is flawed.
Nothing is that simple.

Loch
The only side of human nature I’ve ever encountered is vile and perverse, depraved and cruel.
However, Mishka’s none of those things.
She’s an insufferable, snarky creature who makes me question everything I know about myself.
The longer I’m with her in this world, the less desperate I am to return to mine, which is absurd.
I am son of Asmodeus.
A prince spawned from lust to torment the damned.
The mortal realm is not where I belong.

Incubastard deals with Christian lore that does not align with the Bible. It is completely fictional. If this will make you uncomfortable, please do not read this book.

Content Warning: This novel contains graphic scenes depicting blood and gore along with sexually explicit content and violence. For mature audiences only.

Review – My Fiancé’s Bodyguard by Ivy Wild

58235545. sy475

My Fiance’s Bodyguard
(A standalone)

Publication Date: August 5, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Forbidden/Opposites Attract/Mafia Romance

Author: Ivy Wild

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

A different take on the forbidden romance, with a grumpy hero that is easy to fall in love with and a sassy heroine with a ton of spirit.

Max and Madelyn are a slow to burn romance wrapped up in a mafia story that is unlike any other I’ve read before. Madelyn has basically been locked away for most of her life and her father has been unsuccessfully been trying to marry her off, that is until the big mafia boss asks for her hand and this time her greedy father doesn’t say no. The age difference is probably grandfather to granddaughter spread, but it’s what he does, his personality, etc…along with his age that has Maddie disgruntled with the decision and nothing will  stop her from halting the marriage, if it’s the last thing she ever does.

Max has worked for Johnny Maldonado for the past five years. He’s worked his way up in the organization garnering any information he can and he won’t let a wealthy princess get in his way of what he’s after.

Max was super grumpy about his job and Maddie was extremely oblivious about the world she grew up in…was this intentional? Knowing the beautiful style Ivy Wild typically writes, I’m going to say yes.

There were so many hints dropped along the way that there was a lot more depth to these characters than the shallowness they give off at first, it was certainly what kept me reading because I had to know what secrets Max was holding on to and I just knew Maddie was full of more than the princess cover she portrayed. I’ll just drop that yes, both characters grew in depth and the story was twisty and gave exactly what I was expecting from an Ivy Wild book.

These two, once they let their guards down, discovered they had more in common then they ever would have thought; a wealthy girl that Max calls Princess and a mafia thug with more than meets the eye. Perhaps with the same end goal, they could help one another, if they don’t get caught and end up dead in the process.

My Fiancé's Bodyguard: Signed Special Edition Paperback

Synopsis:

I thought the days of fathers selling their daughters were over.
Apparently, I thought wrong.
Because, in a few short months
I’m supposed to marry Johnny Maldonado.
His record is squeaky clean,
but anyone who’s been to Boston knows who he really is
and what he controls.
There’s only one problem:
I’m not interested in Johnny.
I’m interested in the man charged with his protection.
Maxon Holt. His Bodyguard.
When I ran away, he was the one to find me.
He’s not friendly and we don’t get along.
But, I find myself drawn to him.
Max is cold, dark, and distant.
And he’s harboring a secret.
One that could get us both killed.

Review – Fallen Rose by Amelia Wilde

57985307. sy475

Fallen Rose; Beauty and the Beast #3
(#3 within a trilogy)

Publication Date: July 23, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Trilogy/Twisted Fairytale/Dark Romance

Author: Amelia Wilde

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

A wicked, but heartfelt finale to this dark twist of Beauty and the Beast.

I loved this whole twisted tale of Leo Morelli and Haley Constantine. Their love was unconventional, seemed impossible, and certainly defied the odds, but doesn’t that make the best stories at the end of the day? The over resounding answer to that is YES!

Leo is known as the Beast of Bishop’s Landing, but Haley is one of the few who truly sees the man behind the beast. A man consumed by pain and anger who protects those behind the scenes to keep up his beastly mask, but as we come to learn Haley not only receives that protection up front, but she accepts both the beast and the man which is all he’s ever looked for his entire life. He will do anything to keep her safe, even if it means letting her go.

Haley is all in and wants to be with Leo, which should be perfect, the complication comes in with the Constantine family. They will never allow her to be with a Morelli no matter how much Leo and Haley want to be together. She wants to be with Leo, but could it do more damage staying together?

The entire story is heartbreaking, because anyone familiar with the Beauty and the Beast tale knows that the Beast is really a good guy under all of his blustering and has to let his Belle go even though he loves her and everyone within Belle’s world believes the Beast is so horrible and no matter how much she has grown to love him no one will believe he isn’t an awful person.

Amelia took all of the wonderful things I loved about the classic tale along with all the wicked things I love about dark romance and mashed them together. It truly has been the best of both worlds and loved reading every page.

Synopsis:

Leo Morelli has lost everything.

His safety. His sanity. But worse than that, the woman he loves. He will destroy Bishop’s Landing to get her back, even if it means becoming the monster she fears.

The entire city will feel his wrath.

Haley Constantine loves her beast, but she can’t walk away from her family. They need her now more than ever. It will take more than violence to face these enemies. It will take sacrifice.

Can she give up the man she loves to save him?

Review – Black Thorns by Rina Kent

57729662. sy475

Black Thorns; Thorns Duet #2
(#2 within a duet)

Publication Date: July 8, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Duet/New Adult/Dark Romance

Author: Rina Kent

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Rina Kent pushes dark boundaries I didn’t know I wanted or liked, but she makes me throw out my grabby hands and BEG for more. Black Thorns blew away everything I anticipated and left me once again I craving more of her dark words.

Black Thorns picks up right where we left Sebastian and Naomi. The first quarter of this book is brutally agonizing and I was gripping onto the edge of my seat while trying to turn pages fast enough to find out what happens.

Everything in this book is a blood pumping whirlwind! Once I started I couldn’t read it fast enough.

The first part of the duet was so steamy and taboo, well…you haven’t seen anything yet. Sebastian and Naomi are off the charts in this second half. Their story isn’t easy or pretty, but know that it is always consensual. Their darkness has always called to one another and at every point in their lives, that never waivers. Sebastian and Naomi are meant to be, no matter who or what stands in the way. The Beast will always get his Prey.

Also, keep a close eye on other players who appear in this book as Rina is fantastic at her layers upon layers in storytelling and keep in mind that she does mention triggers, if Rina’s books aren’t for you then don’t swim in the deep end.

Synopsis:

A lie turned into a nightmare.

She broke my heart.
Broke me.
Broke us.
Only one thing could mend the gaping wound she left behind.
Her.
Naomi.
All mine for the taking.
All mine for owning.
All mine.

Rain
(A standalone)

Publication Date: June 30, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Elements of BDSM/Dark/Age-Gap/Angsty Triangle Romance

Author: A.L. Woods

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

WOW! Dark, gritty, raw, and in your face emotional. Rain does not hold back. It is a torrential downpour of trauma, grief, and mental health issues mixed in with some of the hottest bedroom times that all center around an amazing young woman.

Rain is a story that contains a blend of past and present storylines that all weave together to give the reader a clear roadmap to where each character came from, how they ended up where they are at, and where they are headed in the future. Rain is a big book, which can seem daunting, and yet it’s needed to braid all three tales together perfectly.

Allegra is certainly the center of the book. Dom and Nate orbit around her and yet Allegra suffers from feeling alone and neglected much of her life. While I went back and forth between both liking and disliking both guys at different points in the story, there was one person I stood hard and fast on never liking; her brother, Terry. Sorry, not sorry.

If you looked at Dom and Nate as two sides of the same coin, where Allegra had to flip it to choose, they both had different qualities that made that choice nearly impossible. Dom is dark, possessive, and believes himself to be a non-redeemable monster. His one concession has pretty much always been Allegra, however, he just doesn’t know how to express or even say “I love you,” the one thing Allegra wants more than anything. Take away the love aspect, he’s been her protector, pretty much her guardian, and been all of her firsts.

Nate is a different side of that same coin. He actually makes Allegra smile, pushes her boundaries, and wants better for her. This is a new development in Nate’s life as for the past decade he’s only thought of himself and what’s in his pants. He too doesn’t believe in love, but it’s certainly not on a dark level like Dom. Nate is quirky and his internal musings always brought a chuckle out of me. While he just rolled into town and hasn’t known Allegra long, there is something that says he wants more time with her, but is it worth risking those pesky things called feelings?

There is a long path to the decisions Allegra has to make and there were times I wanted to jump in and help because clearly this girl needed more guidance than the people living around her. Seriously though, the trigger warnings are no joke. Rain delves into the very deep end of mental illness, domestic abuse, and other topics that could be triggers for some readers. If you just love reading, jump into the storm and enjoy the rain.

All the pressure he’d been feeling finally explodes and all of the pent up rage, anger, and aggression explodes all over his ex, Peyton, the girl who ripped out his heart when she left.

When Peyton left Rosewood five years ago, she has missed Luca every day since, but when she comes back to town and she sees Luca for the first time she meets the angry man in place of the boy she was once in love with. Where she once thought she could be friends with Luca again, she now doesn’t see much hope of rekindling any kind of relationship with the angry, bitter Luca.

Peyton has a lot on her plate with finishing her degree, working, and helping out her family to worry much about making amends with a broken Luca, but no matter where she turns, Luca seems to be taking up residence and he’s making her life miserable at every turn.

Luca is a bad, bad, bad boy and certainly not the hero in this story. Like a lion with a thorn in his paw, he lashes out at the girl who broke his heart years ago and doesn’t hold back for anything. There is a completely dark side to the golden boy we’ve previously met. This is a man who holds secrets and grudges and has a deviousousness about him that once he lets out is highly delicious.

Peyton is someone who seems like she’d be a good fit for Luca, but she also holds her own secrets. She certainly knows how to work a room full of rowdy, drunk men so she isn’t weak and I like her spirit, she doesn’t just roll over and give up.

I love the connection between Rosewood and the prior MKU students and I really can’t wait to see how the cliffhanger plays out in the next part of this duet. I have a lot of theories running through my head, but Tracy always throws in a good loop so I’m really excited to see how it all plays out and more importantly how Luca and Peyton are going to come out in the end.

Synopsis:

It’s been almost six years since she ruined what we had.

Her lies shattered years of friendship and ripped apart the future we planned.

After I called her a liar and revoked my trust, she left town and never looked back.

In a cruel twist of fate, she’s returned. But I’m not the wounded boy she left behind.

I’m a man now. A man full of anger, resentment and loss.

Darkness consumed me after she left. An unforgiving black hole where my heart used to be.

If she thinks she’s already seen the worst of me, she’s wrong. Dead wrong.

Peyton has only experienced the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to my darkness.

I’ve craved vengeance for her lies, and now is the time to make her pay.

Dear Reader, The Vengeance You Crave is the fourth book in my Maddison Kings University series and the first in a duet for a new couple. It’s a dark bully romance that contains mature content and demanding alphaholes that some readers may find disturbing. You have been warned.

New Release – The Bully by Sophie Lark

I Know Her Secret…

The Bully, an all-new enemies-to-lovers standalone in The Kingmakers Series from bestselling author Sophie Lark, is available now!

Cat is in so much trouble. She did something bad, and I saw.

I’ll keep her secret… for a price.

Poor, sweet, timid Cat should never have come to Kingmakers. It’s a place for monsters and killers. People like me.

She wandered into the lion’s den and now she’s mine.

Mine to play with. Mine to torment. Mine to break…

The Lark Notes:
My very first inspiration for Kingmakers was Dean Yenin. I wanted to write a true anti-hero, with a character arc spanning three books. Dean will make you feel all the things, sometimes against your will. You’ll love him and hate him and love him again, and never get him out of your head. – Sophie

“The Bully” is the third installment in the epic dark mafia Kingmakers series. It’s a bully romance, full of dark, twisted enemies-to-lovers conflict, and some dubious scenes. Reader beware, this one is intense.

Review:

A pirate without a ship, a captive without a ransom. What are the next steps for Poseidon and Ashley? Everything comes together in this final book.

Ashley has really grown over this trilogy. She was originally a woman who came aboard Poseidon’s ship scared and entitled and is now at a point where she’s fighting to stay by her pirate’s side. Now that Poseidon’s ship is gone Ashley really steps up her game to hold her man together. She is not only fighting for their future, but also his sanity. In this trilogy she’s gone from a spoiled, rich girl to a formidable woman, ready to stand by her man. It’s a good thing because the scary pirate she first met is lost along with his ship.

Being landlocked is killing Poseidon, he is not the same man without his ship. He continues to push Ashley away, figuring she deserves better than what he can offer, but the more he tries the more she resists. I was a tad disappointed in his behaviour, and yes, only a tad. I completely understood he needed to grieve. He lost his entire life now rests at the bottom of the ocean and he needed time to deal with the ramifications of what he did. Men are moody creatures, especially when they lose their toys, but his moodiness went on for longer than I was hoping for.

Some of my favorite parts of this last book were when Poseidon and his brothers were together. Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades share a bond unlike many brothers, but I love their unique, shall we say – talents – and how they support each other in a time of crisis. Great ending for the brothers and Poseidon’s thoughts regarding them constantly brought a smile to my face.

Review:

Everything I was hoping for and so much more!! I LOVED Dean’s redemption story and Cat is ferocious! Absolute perfection!

I was totally fascinated by Dean from the very beginning of this series. Every villain believes he is the hero of his own story and Dean was cemented in his belief that everything he did was correct and righteous. While Dean almost killed his cousin, Leo, back freshman year, in his mind he was justified in doing so because everything that was going wrong was due to Leo. However, this murder attempt is a small part of the reason why he’s so intrigued by Cat Romero. Cat actually did achieve murdering her sister’s fiance, which is something only Cat and Dean know about. A fact that Dean uses to make Cat basically his slave, but what starts out as a fascination for Dean quickly falls into something more, something he has a hard time putting a name to, but what I find fascinating about Dean is that he is nothing but dedicated and hard working while he makes Cat his entire focus.

Cat is also another fascinating character, which actually makes her a perfect match for Dean. She began her freshman year meek and very timid, but by the end of that year she was a murderer. Now she’s beginning her sophomore year with a lot more confidence, but with a huge secret and a Russian bully who won’t leave her alone. Cat never once backs down from Dean or anyone else on campus who steps up to bother her. She has come a long way from the timid kitten who arrived the prior year. She goes into everything Dean demands with her eyes wide open, which really shows her strength and inner beauty. While Dean sees something in Cat that she doesn’t necessarily see in herself, during their time together Cat finds her confidence and her inner strength shines through. She is also friends with Leo and his inner circle, which would normally infuriate Dean, but these two are actually a bridge to helping mend a lot of fences at the school.

Both Dean and Cat come out of this year as better versions of themselves and it’s not so much as falling in love that did it, but more of having that love in their life that allowed them to finally believe in themselves and look at the world in a whole new way. That they were deserving of everything and everyone in their life instead of pushing everyone away. Finally opening up to every possibility that came their way, that is what love teaches us. I really love the message of this book and Sophie did an amazing job with their story arc.

Not only is the redemption story beautiful, but these two characters really shine together and bring out the best in one other, oh…and I haven’t even mentioned the steamy parts.  Whew…blazing…fan yourself…ultra steamy times. Can I get a visit from Dean, please? Thank you!

Next up is The Spy and where the last two books had the “on deck” character’s storyline woven throughout, this time there was only a small sprinkle here and there and the actual name of who this person would be wasn’t given. There were teasers and hints as to whom it might be, but as the title suggests it could be shocking when it’s actually revealed. I’m excited to continue and see who it is as this series has blown me away and continues to just get better and better with each book.

Review – A Gorgeous Villain by Saffron A. Kent

A Gorgeous Villain; St. Mary’s Rebels #2
(Interconnected standalone within a series)

Publication Date: June 3, 2021

Genre/Tropes: New Adult/Surprise Pregnancy/Second Chance Romance

Author: Saffron A. Kent

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

A  love story that honestly rocked me with how intense these two characters were.

First off, I adore the writing style of Saffron Kent. It’s completely different to most authors I currently read, which is probably why I’m drawn to her, not to mention her books are excellent. Her stories are filled with symbolism and foreshadowing which remind me of classic literature. I also love how Saffron has made each St. Mary book unique according to traits of each character. It really gives each storyline its own flavor which in extension displays the characters unique love.

Arrow and Salem’s story carried a poetic timbre throughout their entire story, which was entirely fitting for them, whereas Reed and Callie’s story reads more like a three act play.  Why is this symbolic? Well, I hope you find out, but here’s a few key notes;  love, heartbreak, remorse, growth, more tragedy, and of course a big end scene. Sounds a lot like a Shakespearean play doesn’t it? Hmmmm. Well, let’s hope Reed and Callie live through theirs since Shakespeare doesn’t like to keep his players alive. Although this is a romance novel so fingers crossed.

Reed is going to melt you right to the ground. He has layers and layers and even more layers. Keep unwrapping that gorgeous villain, Reed is all that and a bag of chips.

Callie evolves in the years she’s attended St. Mary’s. Stronger and not so naïve. Everyone has a moment where they regret huge mistakes, but I think Callie recognizes that the huge turning point in her life made her a better woman and sometimes we all need those moments of falling down to get back up stronger.

While this story can be read on it’s own, it’s truly best to read them together as the girls are all friends and lean on each other for support, but if you haven’t read book one, don’t worry, this love story stands on its own.

Synopsis:

NOTE – This book is a STANDALONE set in the world of St. Mary’s. The book contains NO CHEATING.

Two years ago, Reed Jackson betrayed Calliope Thorne and broke her heart. So she stole his most prized possession – a white mustang – and drove it into the lake for revenge.

Now, Callie is stuck at a reform school while Reed is off at college, living his life without repercussions.

Until he comes back.

With him comes back all the feelings that Callie has been trying to bury: anger and heartbreak.

But most of all, desire. At the sight of his beautiful but lying lips and his gunmetal gray eyes that still taunt and smolder when he looks at her.

Whatever though. It’s not as if Callie is ever going to fall for her ex-boyfriend again. Or let him corner her in a bar one night and touch her, kiss her…

Neither is she going to kiss him back. Or worse, sleep with him.

Because that would make her naïve and foolish.

Oh, and also pregnant.

And there’s no way Callie is ever going to get pregnant at eighteen and with Reed’s baby, no less. The guy she hates.

The guy who taught her all about heartbreak. Who might look like a gorgeous hero but really is the villain of her story.

The Silencer
(A standalone)

Publication Date: May 18, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Suspense/Intrigue/Romantic Thriller

Author: RC Boldt

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

A keep you on the edge of your seat romantic thriller where justice and vengeance walk a fine line.

RC Boldt writes a tale of redemption that is full of twists and turns, but ultimately leads to the question of can a good man who finds justice love a broken woman who seeks vengeance?

The Silencer is very well written, and while it centers around a delicate subject matter, it focuses more on tracking down horrible people who committed those acts instead of the act itself. For me personally, it really helped keep this book on a suspenseful, thriller level vs. in a dark, disturbing trope.

Kennedy is a forensics anthropologist who specializes in helping law enforcement serve justice to those who normally don’t have a voice. Off the record she serves up vigilante justice to those who might escape through the penal system.

While Kennedy is used to working alone, on a sensitive case in Washington DC she is assigned a partner, Landon Lattimer, an agent from the FBI who has his own assignment to keep a close eye on Kennedy and make sure this case is handled appropriately.

While these two work towards the same goal, they do so through very different means. As they get closer personally Kennedy has a hard time knowing she will have to walk away because how can a man who works for justice ever be with a vigilante?

Synopsis:

USA Today bestselling author RC Boldt brings us an unforgettable tale of betrayal, vengeance, and redemption in her new romantic thriller, THE SILENCER…

No one wants to admit that sometimes only evil can extinguish other evil.

Each time I drain the life from their bodies, I inch closer to purging my past.

Then a by-the-book FBI agent—one as astute as he is handsome—threatens my plans…and what’s left of my heart.

He doesn’t believe there are exceptions to breaking the law. That’s where we differ.

They once silenced me and countless others, but now I’ve reversed our roles.

Because, this time, it’s my turn to be the silencer.

————————————————————
**The Silencer is a dark and gritty romantic suspense that deals with sensitive topics which may not be suitable for all readers.

Hidden Beauty; Beauty and the Beast #2
(#2 within a trilogy)

Publication Date: May 11, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Trilogy/Twisted Fairytale/Dark Romance/Age Gap/Forbidden Romance

Author: Amelia Wilde

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Leo and Haley return in this twisted fairytale with all the darkness I love and seasoned throughout we still have wisps of the beastly tale we know and love that’s as old as time.

Riding the adrenaline wave from Secret Beast, we jump right in wondering if Leo will survive the gunshot he received at the end of that big cliffhanger. A lot of this book focuses on Leo’s health and getting him back on his feet, but more importantly this part of the story is about Haley. Will she survive the upheaval in her life, both physically and emotionally, being torn between the Morellis and the Constantines.

Haley is young, but in this book she really comes into her own. The Constantine blood running through her veins probably helps, but she meets the strong Morelli women and they give her an extra boost of confidence that really narrow that age gap between Haley and Leo (not literally of course, but you understand). Her inner strength really shines and all of the strong women in Leo’s life help in his recovery.

Hidden Beauty is full of ups and down and Leo, the Beast of Bishop’s Landing, lets down his walls finally giving Haley a glance at his vulnerability, but don’t worry her filthy beast is still present and I love seeing all sides to this snarling beast.

This is only book two in this fantastic trilogy and ends on another cliffhanger…GAH!! The ending is right around the corner and I can hardly wait to find out how these two will find their HEA.

Synopsis:

Is Leo Morelli a beast or a prince? He locks Haley in his castle for her own safety. She sees only the best in him, but the worst is yet to come.

Malice
(A standalone)

Publication Date: May 6, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Reverse Harem/Mafia/Dark Romance

Author: Coralee June

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Loved it…LOVED IT!! So dark, so completely wicked, and is it wrong that my heart sang and laughed during some of the most depraved sections?! Coralee June proves once again how awesomely deverse her writing is and I’m here for it!!

Juliet Cross finds herself pulled into a world of cruelty and darkness. A world that she never could have imagined finding her strength, but in the arms of three different men.

There is a reason Nick Civella has the nickname of Malice. He’s hard, dark, and leaves no room in life for emotions. Juliet finds herself trapped in his web with no alternative to escape, but instead of running away she finds a strength she didn’t know she had. Malice is the backbone of the entire empire. He’s callus and seems unfeeling, but a man who gets to his position can’t be all flowers and candy. He knew how to move the chess pieces of his family or employees around. Malice didn’t do things without purpose and Juliet threw him for a loop multiple times. A queen to his king, these two work well together.

Anthony is the youngest brother in the Civella family, by far the most damaged, but also my absolute favorite. He is sweet while also being completely demented. He connects with Juliet in a way that no one else can, reaching her own level of depravity that she actually kept locked inside. Instantly upon meeting these two were able to release their true selves and a friendship was built before anything romantic began. I think, for me, it’s why Anthony emotionally hit me hard and also had me laughing. He’s truly the best.

Juliet has known William the longest, at least as an acquaintance through her BFF Vicky. Their relationship is complicated at best and completely sweet in the least. I went back and forth from loving the sweet, poetic man to being highly frustrated by the guy. Because Juliet is comfortable around him he should be the easy choice to fall for and actually get to know, but William is probably the biggest mystery between the three brothers. However, his charming moments will completely melt you and win back every want-to-knock-him-in-the-head time he’s been a bonehead.

Juliet transformed throughout this whole book. She found her inner strength, her lioness, her sensuality, her inner goddess. I LOVE that in any female character, but especially one with suspenseful, dark themes. Loving three men isn’t an easy task, can you imagine the laundry??? Yikes. It takes a strong woman to handle what she’s thrown up against, but it’s all of her other sides, besides just her strength, that speak to each brother and it’s fun to see her blossom with each one.

Malice is page-turning,  scintillating, and just so darn good it had me hooked from page one. I never tire from reading Coralee’s diverse writing and this book certainly contained that WOW factor that pushed boundaries, but was also touching and moving.

Synopsis:

There are three rules for being best friends with a mafia princess:

1. Don’t ask any personal questions.

2. Don’t show up at her house unannounced.

3. Don’t ever, ever let anyone know you’re friends.

For three years, I followed the rules. Vicky and I met once a week at the diner where I worked. I was her slice of normalcy, she was the one person I could confide in. It might have been unconventional, but it worked for us.

One night, all hell broke loose and I got caught up in a battle of bloodshed where we almost lost our lives. I ended up face to face with Vicky’s dangerous older brothers. Anthony, William, and Nicholas Civella–the made men of the Kansas City Mob.

After fighting for my life and proving myself worthy, they brought me into their deadly world. It was glamorous but twisted. Torture, death, and crime followed me everywhere I went, chiseling away at parts of me until I wasn’t the same anymore.

Slowly, I betrayed my best friend, and fell in love.

Chances are they’ll ruin me. This thing between us has deadly consequences. But in this criminal world, I’m learning that the rules don’t apply when you’re the boss.

Review:

What an amazing end to this fantastically written series!

Winston Constantine is no Prince Charming. He’s an elitist billionaire with a bedroom kink that should be kept in the bedroom, but when their kinks become public Winston has fires to put out and he remembers where his head needs to be, not on Ash, but on the Constantine name. Team Constantine all the way!!

Winston Constantine couldn’t be more perfect in his dark, brooding, moody, and kinky behavior. He’s not your vanilla Prince Charming and he never claims to be, but in Ash Elliot he found the perfect partner, he just claims over and over that he doesn’t need a partner. He fights everything he feels for Ash, claiming she’s just a toy, he doesn’t need her, but could it true when the prospect of really losing her crushes the heart he also claims not to have. Oh, these antiheros are glorious when they fall and Winston is beautiful!!

Ash is no wallflower. Winston helped her step out of the shadows and she never wants to go back. When their private life becomes public she should be horrified, especially when Win sets her aside like yesterday’s underwear. She also knows that she won’t give him up without a fight. Ash may be twisted in what she likes, and she likes Winston and how they are together, she won’t apologize for that. She will fight for what they have no matter how much Win wants to dismiss everything they have.

I love that Ash never once backs down from what she desires, which number one is Winston considering he comes with his dark personality, but that also means he comes with his depraved bedroom side, yum! Number two I also love that she has a great relationship with the other Constantine family members outside of Winston. Perry is the best and I’d love to read his own story. His lighthearted ways and his special friendship to Ash is so cute, he’s the perfect levity to the story that offset any darkness.

I’m going to miss the dirty talking anti-prince and his maid, but the entire Constantine world is still continuing with other authors. There is always hope that we’ll see more of Win and Ash within the Midnight Dynasty Collection, and a girl can always dream.

Synopsis:

Betraying the most powerful man in New York wasn’t something I ever envisioned when I first started playing games with Winston Constantine. But he’s engaged in far more dangerous games than ours, and his enemies are out for blood.
Winston has my heart, the Morellis have incriminating photos, and I’m left with nothing except three stepbrothers who want to hurt me and a future in doubt. I knew Winston wouldn’t be my prince charming, but that didn’t stop me from falling for him.
After all, the slippers fit, and I let myself believe I’d be dancing with Winston forever.
Until too much truth comes to light.
Until I realize instead of ruling the board, I was just a pawn.
In the end, I have only one question. When his game with me is over, will I be able to pretend as if the glass slipper wasn’t a perfect fit?

Review:

Whew! Up the heat factor cause Tempted By Deception is blazing at 10,000 degrees!!

I don’t know how Rina continually ups the hotness factor in her writing, but kudos to her keyboard never starting on fire or perhaps having several on hand as they ignite while writing cause Adrian and Lia set the pages on fire in this second part of the trilogy. We finally get a closer look at their relationship from the very beginning and the web of deception that begins to weave.

On top of all the carnal hotness, I’m also in awe of how Rina’s mind works and fits the overall plot puzzle together. This story is intricate and mind blowing and It’s fantastic to see how the pieces all fit together as the story plays out. Each character has his or her purpose and I love how the picture unfolds as the story progresses. Rina has truly done her best work and I’m excited to see how the story ends.

Synopsis:

My husband. My villain.

Review – The Revenge You Seek by Tracy Lorraine

The Revenge You Seek; Maddison Kings University #1
(#1 within a series)

Publication Date: April 1, 2021

Genre/Tropes: New Adult/Bully/Dark Romance

Author: Tracy Lorraine

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Tracy Lorraine plugged in high octane darkness for maximum page-turning reading in her new series, Maddison Kings University.

Kane Legend is going to go down as the ultimate dark antihero, one readers find irresistible and the one that leaves mothers clutching their pearls.

The Revenge You Seek, is the first book in the Maddison Kings University series, but if you’ve read any of the Rosewood High series you might have run into Kane and Letty before as Kyle Legend is his little brother and Harley and Zayn Hunter are Letty’s younger siblings.

This is a darker book with some pretty intense scenes between Kane and Letty. There is a lot of mystery wrapped around the hatred that just drips off of Kane and why he directs it specifically towards Letty. At the same time she allows it to happen, so even though there is mystery to it, there has to be a dark reason behind it, we just don’t why these two are so toxic together, however it does make for excellent reading!!

Kane makes no excuses or apologies for who he is or what he does. He goes after what he wants and at this point in time, he wants revenge for everything she’s done to him. He’s had to put his life on hold numerous times, not that he’s complaining, he did it for his brother, but now that Kyle is back on track Kane can refocus on his own.  Kane won’t stop until she pays for everything she’s done. He’s relentless, the devil wrapped in a beautiful package.

Letty had no idea that Kane would ever have stepped foot on a college campus, much less one she was attending. When he appears at MKU for class, on the football field, basically everywhere she turns, her nerves are frayed. Thankfully she has a fortress of great friends supporting her, but even they can’t protect her from the devil when he lurks in the shadows. She’s not sure she will survive Kane Legend again, but then again it’s hard to break something that’s already broken.

These two have history together, as in they grew up together until the Hunter family moved away from Harrow Creek, but Kane and Letty specifically don’t have a romantic relationship from their past (only one night which we learn about from The Mistakes You Make – I highly suggest reading this short prequel). Why is there so much animosity between them? I’m dying to know too!!! The mystery is what kept me turning pages, along with angsty torment…lord, Kane is dark and twisted.

This series is twisting up to be one of Lorraine’s best, especially if you crave darkness in your reading. These books are meant to be read in order, so I highly recommend starting with the prequel and then reading the first book and so forth.

Review – Secret Beast by Amelia Wilde

57052534. sy475

Secret Beast; Secret Beast Trilogy #1
(#1 within a trilogy)

Publication Date: February 23, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Dark/Antihero/Forbidden Romance

Author: Amelia Wilde

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

This dirty, twisted version of Beauty and the Beast was absolute perfection! Every step was masterfully crafted to a dark version of the beloved classic, while also highlighting the Morelli/Constantine dueling dynamic beautifully.

“Villains aren’t supposed to kiss the virtue out of you.”

Amelia Wilde brings another story to the Midnight Dynasty World with Leo Morelli and Haley Constantine front and center. Leo Morelli has been targeting the Constantine’s for years, but aside from that these are two powerful families usually going after the same things, what was Leo’s underlying reason for his cruel methods of achieving his goals? He is known as the Beast of Bishop’s Landing not because he’s cuddly and warm, but for his cruelty and dark demeanor. Secret Beast gives us an inside look into why he ruthlessly goes after what he wants and how he became the Beast.

Haley Constantine may be a Constantine, but her family is not one of the well off Constantine’s. Her father was known more as an embarrassment within the Constantine family tree and as such Haley spent her life sandwiched between avoiding the wrath of not being good enough and living up to the Constantine name she also spent her time avoiding outside forces like the Morelli family who could also hurt their family because her last name was Constantine. Haley never felt safe with anyone and even if she was tired of always protecting her family, at the end of the day she loved them fiercely.

When Haley’s father makes a deal with the Beast of Bishop’s Landing, the only thing she can do to save him is trade herself to save her father. During her captivity where she thought she was walking into the devil’s den it was actually the first time she actually felt safe in her entire life, but could it be at the risk of losing her family and the man she’s come to care for?

Secret Beast ends on a cliffy and I know I’m waiting on bated breath for the next installment. This entire world has pulled me in and I love the back and forth between the Constantine’s and Morelli’s, each family pulling on my emotions as I go back and forth depending on which collection I’m reading.

I couldn’t have imagined a better retelling for a dark Beauty and the Beast within this Midnight Dynasty Collection.

Synopsis:

The beast hides a dark secret in his past…

Leo Morelli is known as the Beast of Bishop’s Landing for his cruelty. He’ll get revenge on the Constantine family and make millions of dollars in the process. Even it means using an old man who dreams up wild inventions.

The beauty will sacrifice everything for her family…

Haley Constantine will do anything to protect her father. Even trade her body for his life. The college student must spend thirty days with the ruthless billionaire. He’ll make her earn her freedom in degrading ways, but in the end he needs her to set him free.

SECRET BEAST is a new full-length novel from USA Today bestselling author Amelia Wilde about revenge, family secrets, and the redeeming power of love.

Review – The Sacrifice by Elena Monroe

The Sacrifice; The 4 Horsemen #3
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: February 4, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Dark/Secret Society/Fluid Romance

Author: Elena Monroe

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

YESSSSSSSSS!! Let me count the reasons why this book is AMAZING!!

  1. This cover!!
  2. KHAOS came with his own trigger warning. I’m not talking about the book, but KHAOS himself…can we refer back to #1, bring it, I LOVE IT!!!!
  3. This entire book…Oh, yes, it was everything!!!!

It is dark…so if you are expecting sunshine and gummy bears, as Khaos does seem to project that, beware it’s all a cover (this time I’m not talking about #1). Khaos does live up to his name in bringing chaos everywhere he goes and it’s not in the healthiest of ways. He destroys and wreaks havoc and drips poison wherever he can. Yes, I made fun of the trigger warning, but seriously, if you have problems with dark themes, drug use, polygamous relations, orgys, fluid sexuality, etc… then this story isn’t for you, but if you enjoy treading in these waters, jump in and enjoy the fun that is Khaos.

Khaos has been my favorite since the beginning of this series and this book solidified his standing among the 4 Horsemen. He is certainly misunderstood, among his friends, among his coworkers, to his alphabetical girlfriends, to basically everyone in the world except Birdy. She sees behind the mask he wears and this excites Khaos more than anything or anyone ever has before. Unfortunately, for a man like him, a man who embodies his own name, he has rules and those rules don’t allow him to touch, taste, or have Birdy. Pity, that’s a lot of “no” for a man who never really denies himself. Khaos is so full of love, he just misdirects what that means in very unhealthy ways. He’s glutinous, impetuous, impulsive, a true lover and not a fighter which makes him mouthy and cocky and frankly everything adorable, but also very misunderstood. I love everything about Khaos and he just needed to find the right woman to help direct his Mayhem and Anarchy!

Grace – or Birdy – has come from a life of nothing. Thrown into a dumpster at birth, then thrown into the foster system, only next to be thrown into juvie, when Grace was plucked out of a nothing life to enter a gang she really knew no difference. Her life has never been her own, living for the people who only seem to throw her away at the first opportunity they have. Meeting Khaos is an experience she’s never encountered before, a man with everything at his fingertips, but beneath his happy mask she can see how lonely he is. She shouldn’t be intrigued by the man that lives for the spotlight when she prefers to live as a ghost, but she has a hard time saying no.  He could be the man to set her free an help her fly or he could be the man who ends up getting them both killed. Pick a hand.

They come across as opposites, for example-Grace is a ghost and Khaos is an attention whore, no matter what their weakness is the other makes up for in their strength. Birdy is strong where Khaos is not, he is loving where she struggles to understand what that attachment means. They are truly the perfect yin and yang to balance each other out. They also have an underlying connection in their loneliness. Where Grace has lead a life of truly being alone, Khaos has masked it by surrounding himself in a group of people that he really didn’t connect with so he wouldn’t have to face the pit of loneliness inside of himself. Their souls feel that connection and breaking that bond once it’s linked is almost impossible.

These two by far are my favorite couple in this series, but I also loved how Elena entwined the entire family that continues to grow within the Clave; Grimm, Vic, along with Abigail and Justice. They all made me giddy with each moment they popped up in the book and how they too continued to grow as characters. Bowen is still a bit of a mystery, but the small bit Elena did give only made me salvate for more.

The Sacrifice is a truly amazing read and Khaos is the absolute best!!

Synopsis:

KHAOS
I’m not living under any kind of false pretenses here. I know I’m basically a rapper’s attitude with R&B feelings and a pop star’s bank account.
There were a lot of ways to describe my unconventional lifestyle of part time cult member and full time showman.
Risk taker.
Exuberant.
And my personal favorite adjective: undomesticated.
I surrounded myself with people who liked a good time but left after they served their purpose of making sure I felt nothing but top shelf feelings.
I wasn’t about to be like my brothers who let the darkness eat away at their vindication. The only crime I had ever committed was waving the glory of being invited, of saying I came and conquered around like a badge of honor.
Spoiler alert: None of that earned me respect.
There’s only one girl who managed to rob me of my fake smile… and my watch.

GRACE
I was a throw away, street trash, a child abandoned and scooped up by the bad people you only hear about after they get caught.
I was hard in a way people found uncomfortable and determined too much work to rehabilitate into society again. I was found guilty over and over enough to let the bad things become who I am, blurring the lines between freedom and a jail sentence.
Fraud.
Thief.
And my least favorite: fake girlfriend to a scary ass kingpin.
Forced out of a childhood I was surrounded by darkness, evil, and the kind of cutthroat loyalty that landed your body so mutilated they wouldn’t be able to tell who you were if you fell out of obedience.
They accepted me like family and there’s no quitting your family.
I had the respect to match my rap sheet.
There’s only one guy who managed to exonerate me… and my invisible wings.

Thorns and Forgiveness; Twisted Legacy #2
(#2 in a Duet)

Publication Date: January 30, 2021

Genre: Dark/Anti-hero/Forbidden Romance

Author: Coralee June

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

A gorgeous, dramatic read with a dirty talking anti-hero that I absolutely adore!

Thorns and Forgiveness picks right up where we left Hamilton and Vera in book one. Filled with regret, remorse and feelings that he’s never felt for anyone Hamilton makes the decision to stay away from Vera because the Beauregard’s are poison and being he’s a Beauregard himself, he will only infect her himself over and over and no amount of forgiveness will ever remove that amount of poison in her life. However, it seems that the Beauregard’s aren’t exactly done with Vera nor her mother.

Vera has always given everything to those in her life, plucking and taking until she’s empty. When she finally meets her breaking point she finally decides to take back the power in her life, but is it too late to help guide those who helped her in her time of need. She may no longer have any petals to pluck, but she’s now a stem full of thorns and anyone who tempts to cross her better be ready to bleed.

Full of my favorite sarcastic man and watching Vera find her inner strength, this book is absolutely amazing!!

Review – Prince Charming by K. Webster

55509539. sy475

Prince Charming; A Cinderella Novel #2
(#2 within a series)

Publication Date: January 26, 2021

Genre: Dark/Forbidden/Twisted Fairytale Romance

Author: K. Webster

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

So, So, So GOOD! Filled with all the cheeky banter and naughty filth that makes this Cinderella series worth reading over and over again.

Winston Constantine makes no apologies for the man that he is, whether it’s in business or between the sheets; he’s hard, he’s ruthless, he likes his Cinderelliott filthy. Lucky for him Ash Elliott enjoys being his dirty girl. Equally matched in spirit and in bed she could be the perfect match for him, too bad she’s just a maid and nothing more.

Ash Elliot knows not to expect a marriage proposal from Winston, but deep down she does hope for more. Falling more for him everyday even knowing that it will end with her heart in devastation when Winston finally cuts her loose. She is fully aware that their relationship is one that has an end date, but until that date she doesn’t want to live in fear, that’s not her style. Ash is bold and fearless, some of the traits Winston likes best about her and she will use that twisted charm to keep him happy and perhaps change his mind.

Prince Charming is so amazingly written, the story is gripping with great moments of levity mixed with lust. One of my favorite moments is when Ash introduces Winston to candy after she gifts him with a handmade coupon book. How many of us have either made one of these or been given one in our lifetimes…probably a huge majority, but Winston Constantine…the concept is not only foreign, but of course the ripple effects of the coupons in this book are priceless. Each of these moments, these seemingly small moments were astoundingly amazing!

K. Webster has fast become one of my favorite authors and this series is one of my top reads not to miss.

Synopsis:

Now available for pre-order! Coming January 26th, 2021!!

Winston Constantine is no prince charming…
I crave him so badly I think I might be losing my mind. He’s right in front of me, but he’s just as remote as my dreams of getting away from my stepbrothers. I keep playing his twisted games, and I want to stay just as distant as he is. But I can’t. I never could. I’ve fallen for him. Hopelessly. Irrevocably.

But Winston isn’t a lover, he’s a business venture.

A way for me to pay for college.

A ticket out.

He’s never pretended to be anything other than that.

I can’t blame him for making me fall in love.

There can be no happily ever after between a maid and a prince, no matter what the fairy tales say.

Review – Bastards and Scapegoats by Coralee June

Bastards and Scapegoats; Twisted Legacy #1
(#1 of a duet)

by: Coralee June

Review Rating:

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Corealee June is a wicked mastermind in this twisted duet! It’s a perfect whirlwind of emotions of who to trust, who to believe, and Hamilton’s dirty, dirty mouth.

While Vera and her mother come from a very humble background, her mother has now married into the Governor’s family, which means living in a media spotlight and having strangers dig into your personal life. This leads to an entire story of Vera walking a sharp edge of who to trust in this new world her mother has just thrown her into. No lifevest, no one is coming to her rescue, and the sharks are circling.

While Vera has worked hard to be the perfect child her entire life, she suddenly finds herself thrown to the sharks, namely Hamilton, and for the first time in her life making decisions based on wants and desires vs. her mother’s needs.

Vera is continually torn in her new world in who to trust, it’s only ever been her and her mother and this world of elite is nothing like she’s experienced before.

  • Jack, her new grandfather -who is also the Governor should he be trusted -because who really trusts a politician?
  • Hamilton’s roommate and best friend, Jess, who only ever has good things to say about him, is she playing favorites or just playing Vera?
  • Vera’s own mother that up until the wedding it was only the two of them against the world, but now her mother is changing and saying things that continually confuse her., would Liliah hurt her own daughter?
  • Lastly, but certainly not least, Hamilton. The man is a sinful beast. The lustful devil himself walking around tempting women and Vera does her best to not be another one of the apples falling from his tree, but his pursuit is relentless and what’s a girl to do against a man like him?

Bastards and Scapegoats is so intoxicating and so darn good, it will draw you in and keep you guessing and also have you tripping all over Hamilton’s dirty, filthy talk.

Synopsis:

The first time I saw Hamilton, he was balls deep in one of the bridesmaids at my mother’s wedding.

He was lethal. Handsome. Cruel. Twisted.

I was drawn to him like fists to glass. We had an angry sort of relationship. There was nothing kind about the broken man that stole my heart and crushed it in his fist. He was all sharp edges. One touch could ruin me. One kiss could end our happy little family.

When my mother married Joseph Beauregard, son of the governor of Connecticut, I never imagined I’d fall in love with my stepfather’s younger brother. I never imagined I’d uncover the truth about his family’s bloody legacy.

Hamilton escaped with scars to his name and a ruined reputation. And now? I wanted out, too. I guess the scandal of our relationship was the least of our family’s problems.

Review:

This was my first venture into the Brayshaw world and Break Me did not disappoint.

The Kings of Brayshaw rule the town, the people, everything. Each of his brothers before have fallen in love and have already started their family leaving Royce Brayshaw as the last man standing. While Royce and his brothers are super close and they live in the same mansion together so Royce isn’t really alone, he feels lonely at the end of the night when they all head to their separate wings. However, he fools himself into thinking that he is fine being alone, only filling his bed with random women and being known as the party boy, that is until he meets Brielle Bishop and she drives him just a little bit crazy.

Brielle was supposed to be an end to a means for retaliation. However, when Royce brings her back to Brayshaw she fits into his world better than he ever expected. Brielle was never allowed to opportunity to grow up in Brayshaw like her older brother, Bass, was. Instead she was shipped off to live with her aunt and she has missed her brother every day they’ve been apart. When Royce brings her the opportunity to be closer to the one person she’s been missing she knows she won’t mess it up. She doesn’t care how miserable he intends to make her life it can’t be worse than what she was living in.

Royce and Brielle play a game of cat and mouse throughout most of the book. He refuses to give in to what he’s feeling, while she just wants to prove that she belongs. Their circle around each other gets smaller and smaller until they are left standing on top of each other, but will his darkness pull her under or will her light shine bright enough for both of them?

This whole world, while new to me, didn’t leave me wondering who was who, or what was happening. Break Me is well written and the characters are well developed, so I had no trouble jumping in and following right along.

Synopsis:

I had a plan, and it was solid.

Track down what was hidden away and take pleasure in toying with it.
Toying with her.

It worked like a charm.
Until it didn’t.

Turned out, the feisty little thing I found was far from what I hoped for.
She was different from all I knew and more than I expected.

She was light, and I’m the bastard who led her into darkness.
But this girl… she followed with a smile.

I told her I break pretty things.
She asked me to promise.

Review:

Oh my!! What is this deep, dark hole that I’ve fallen into?! Bella J is a new author for me and while dark romance is not a new trope and disclaimers are not out of the ordinary in this realm, I just want to say…Bella’s are no joke!! (Whew, fanning myself)

Okay, now that that is out of the way…The Devil’s Vow touches a lot of dark taboo subject matter; blood play, rough handling, rapy vibes…and all of this is not in a consensual BDSM environment, but it is between husband and wife. So, if this is not your thing, please don’t venture into Bella’s world, but if you like stepping into the fantasy of a great antihero who you absolutely hate to love then Gian Silvestro is perfect.

Daniela Moretti has been sold into marriage by her father to the Silvestro family to secure business. Yes, this is modern times, but powerful families still exist and business deals can be procured by tying families together. Think of this like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, but where the Montagues and Capulets actually made a deal to sell off Romeo and Juliet before they ever met one another. In this version the star crossed lovers still have a high probability of dying in the end, but instead of insta love, there is insta loathing between them.

The Devil’s Vow opens with a prologue that will keep you guessing, who is the monster that lurks in Daniela’s world. This question will keep you turning pages right up until the cliffhanger…sorry to say, yes, there is a whopper.

Back to turning those pages…Gian is a man you are going to hate to love. While the arranged marriage isn’t one he wanted, he doesn’t make Daniela’s life any easier when she steps into his world. Gian is domineering, extremely dark, and definitely depraved, but there is something inside that is worth redeeming…otherwise he wouldn’t be worth the hero part of the antihero status…at least I hope there is.

Daniela tries her best to keep a spine of steel while Gian constantly breaks her down. Growing up in her father’s household where she knew she was no better than a traded commodity, she already has walls built up around her heart, but Gian is something she never accounted for. He plays her body and pulls on her emotions like no one ever has.

Playing with the devil has never burned quite so good.

Synopsis:

An Arranged Marriage Romance

Daniela

I was never a beloved daughter. Only a prized possession to be kept in a gilded cage until my father was ready to trade.

It was my duty, carved in stone and written in my blood that one day my virtue would be exchanged for an alliance. And now, that day has come.

Gian Silvestro, heir to the Silvestro empire, will accept me as his wife and seal my fate with a kiss that holds a thousand promises. But to him, our vows only mean one thing…

I am bound to him…and shackled to his hate.
