Oakley and Tally were put through the wringer in the second half of this duet. Emotionally and physically they both had quite a rough road and that’s not even talking about the relationship between the two of them.

From the beginning until the end I couldn’t set the story down. I had to know what would happen in this gripping tale. It was up and down and in the end these two really worked hard to deserve their HEA.

While in the first book Oakley began as a selfish, douchecanoe, by the end he’d already been winning my heart. In this book his transformation continued and Oakley became the man I was hoping for. I was so happy that he stepped up for Tally in a big way in this book. His actions supported his emotions and I couldn’t be happier to see his big growth.

There is a section in this book where all of the Heirs and now Tally, Olivia and Abi all hang out and that part of the story is fantastic. I’m excited to see where the storyline goes next and how the next Heir falls for his girl.

An opposites attract at its best! The Heirs have been challenged by none other than the Head Girl, Tallulah Darlington, that means it’s gloves off at All Hallows and Tally needs to watch her back.

Oakley and Tally have tons of friction throughout this book, which is one aspect of Tally’s fight. The other part of it is she’s always stood up against injustice and to her the Heirs are one boys club of patriarchal douchecanoes. She wants to shut down the system and turn their clubhouse into a mental health and wellness clinic, something that could benefit the entire student population, not just a few entitled rich boys. As great as this sounds, and it truly does, sadly the student population sides with the Heirs and their partying ways, that means Tally is enemy #1 and the Heirs only have to sit back and watch the rest of All Hallows do their dirty work for them.

While Tally gets bullied by basically everyone around her, she’s also fighting Oakley on a personal and emotional basis. This girl is one of the strongest girls that Caitlyn has written yet and that’s saying something because she’s written some really amazing women. Tally seriously doesn’t back down from anyone and I love that about her. While I do question her digging her heels in at times, I also commend her for sticking to her guns, not many people have her kind of courage and I like that spirit.

Oakley took a bit longer to fall into his groove. His character development was a slower process, but isn’t that the same for most men in our lives, late emotional bloomers. While I disliked Oakley, even back in his sisters book, I actually like that it progressed to me warming up to him throughout the course of this book and I actually like the guy now. Who knew that would happen?!

This is just the first part of Tally and Oakley’s story and it does end on a bit of an emotional cliffhanger so I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next.

Fast paced, with great emotional ups and downs from both Olivia and Reese.

There is a lot to unpack in this book, but it never wavered in the intensity. While Olivia and Reese’s HEA was tied up, The Heirs still have more story to tell and I loved getting to know just a bit more about some of the secondary characters who will return in more books.

While Olivia and Reese circle around their feelings and what that could mean for a future, it also meant that Reese had to fess up to everything, but I loved how the story played out for Reese to make amends, which not only included Olivia, but also his friends.

Also, about that future, it involved part of this fantastic girl crew that Olivia surrounded herself with. One being Reese’s fiancé, Abigail, and another included a fierce girl that grates on every nerve of Olivia’s twin brother, Oakley. Everything about their whole dynamic is delicious. This girl group, aside from the relationship that brewed between Reese and Olivia, totally made the book worth reading.

Caitlyn Dare brings us a new world where several bad boys belong to a hypocritical-long-standing-tradition secret society. One that I feel the women in this world won’t just roll over and just beg at their feet. Filthy Jealous Heir was dark and delicious in only the best way an enemies-to-lovers story can be.

Yes, I do love a really good bad boy, but Caitlyn Dare also loves bringing us the equally good bad girl to rile those bad boys right up. Honestly, those books from Dare are my favorite and so far this first part of FJH is falling right into that category.

I would recommend reading the prequel for some reference. It covers the initiation along some other vital information between everyone and where a lot of the animosity between everyone stems from.

While Reese makes it pretty clear that he dislikes Olivia she also makes it clear that she is not a girl who backs down or rolls over when Reese pushes her around. She grew up with all of the Heirs and while her twin brother is initiated into the society and is uber protective of her, if there is anyone who might have more sway over her it’s her twin. Aside from that Olivia has a voice and she gets a  little tired of the “boys will be boys” phrase her dad tosses out or even walking down memory lane as he glosses over her comments and basically pats her on the head. I feel Olivia is going to bring a day of wreckening and I can hardly wait.

Reese is filled with some dark secrets and yet, he is also filled with a lot of regret. I don’t believe he’s entirely looking to ruin people for the sake of being a total douche, although a lot of his actions sort of lead us down that path…he’s angry, he’s definitely hurt, and he’s lashing out because of everything that is pent up and out of his control. I’m calling him a lion with a thorn in his paw and he believes that Olivia is a mouse. Did that fable work out well for both animals, maybe I need to brush up on my Aesop, either way…I can hardly wait for the continuation of this story since we were left with a whopper of a cliffhanger. Will the lion catch his mouse once the thorn is removed or will the mouse run away?

(The wild child of the three and by far the glue that holds them all together)

Ryder is one of the few people who notices the mask she wears, as he has a similar situation at home. (He is fun, a total dirty talker, doesn’t take life too seriously, but also the caretaker, which made him the perfect fit for this triad)

Styx has been patiently waiting for the right time to make Kat his, but nothing ever seems to go his way. However, when he finds out that his best friend, Ryder, has been spending time with his girl it pushes him to go after her, but what she’s wanting, what she suggests, he’s not sure he can give. (He is focused, intense, straightlaced, and a total rule follower…most of the time)

Defy is definitely full of hot men and lots of spicy good times, but unlike some of the other MC books in this series that are packed with suspense and bad guys, this particular book is full of emotional punches and lots of tears. I really enjoyed the different mix with this story, especially knowing Kat from previous books and that she was going to need special guys by her side with her particular journey.

Defy is a standalone in the Red Ridge Sinners series, but enjoyed more when read right along with the other books.

Reap is amped up bringing the emotions along with lots of passion. The second book in the Red Ridge Sinner series is more in depth and super spicy, I couldn’t put it down once I started.

What ended on a total cliffhanger in book one, we bring back River, Zach, Diesel, and Jax with more intensity for book two and this time dig deeper into what makes this group unique and work together in a way than other reverse harems I’ve run across.

River is drawn to each of these men, but for very different reasons. While that in itself isn’t different to the reverse harem trope, these three guys would seem like cogs all working against one another in a real world situation instead of getting along when it came to one woman. It seems crazy on paper, but it works and it works very, very well. There is something that each man brings not only to River, but to each other in friendship. I enjoyed watching those bonds form just as much as the ones with River.

While they each find a unique path to River, they also unite around her, thus forming a friendship none of them would have predestined before meeting the woman of their dreams. The question now becomes can they hold on to her and the bond that is still very tenuous while there are still enemies at large. Enemies that could destroy everything and everyone around them.

Reap is a passionate read with some pretty heavy emotions laced throughout along the way. I can hardly wait to see where this story takes us next.

Whew!! Smokin’ hot start to Red Ridge Sinners!!

Ruin is off to a great start and I already want more! I want to dig into all the secrets, I definitely want more of the bad boy Zach and tenderhearted Diesel. Both of these men have layers that I want to peel back to find more of what they hold. Then there is Jax…that boy is the holding both secrets and problems and I want to find out if he is going to join in on what Zach and Diesel have already unlocked within River?

Whew, speaking of River, she is both lucky and in a ton of trouble with these men. They are tearing her apart emotionally while also denying themselves what could be a wonderful connection. At the same time, River is surrounded by people who have stable and perfect relationships and her heart aches everyday to have something just like that. She hates to admit that it hurts to see her family so happy when she isn’t and she doesn’t know why she’s drawn to men who continue to reject her.

While Zach and River burn the hottest in this first book….and wow, are they hawt…my heart broke for River with the other two guys. River isn’t your typical MC princess and didn’t grow up in this world, but there is still a fire inside her that comes out and I love when she releases it.

Red Ridge Sinners is an interconnected, standalone. Perfect for fans of Caitlyn Dare, but also perfect for any new readers just picking up this series.  I can hardly wait for the next book!
