Cover Reveal – Wish of My Heart by Carian Cole

Carian Cole has revealed the cover and and blurb for her upcoming release, Wish of My Heart!

Coming Soon!

It all started with a random, spontaneous, inexplicable hug between two strangers. But it didn’t end there. Suddenly, that stranger was starring in my dreams as my romantic and sensual husband-to-be.

That role’s already taken, though.

But no matter how hard I try, I can’t stop thinking about Reece Blackstone, the famous 47-year-old, soft spoken guitarist. Especially when he keeps coming in to my café, trying to find out why the hell he can’t stop thinking—and dreaming—about . . . me.

Reece is much more than just a swoony musician. He’s charming, charismatic, and incredibly sexy. And thoughtful. He’s an amazing dad, and a great friend. Powerless to deny the pull to him, I take a crazy leap of faith to find out if dreams really can come true.

How can I resist when he’s everything I’ve dreamt my soulmate would be. Literally.

But I never could’ve known that Reece has been living with a terrible secret that’s kept him from having the love and happiness he deserves.

And now, it’s back again, threatening to tear him, and us, apart.

What Reece doesn’t realize is that he’s no longer in this alone—I’m going to fight for him, our happily ever after, and all the wishes of our hearts.

Blog Tour – Don’t Kiss the Bride by Carian Cole

Don’t Kiss the Bride by Carian Cole is now live!

Now Live!

We had one rule.
Breaking it sealed our fate forever.

I guess you could say I was a damsel in distress, and he was my knight in shining armor.

But more accurately, I was a girl with a lot of bad luck, and he was a guy with a lot of muscles and tattoos.

Jude “Lucky” Lucketti wasn’t just a sexy, brooding construction worker. He was my own personal hero who seemed to be in all the right places at the right times. Like when my car broke down and I needed a ride home, and when I face planted on the sidewalk right in front of him and had to be taken to the emergency room.

Those weren’t exactly my best moments, but they were his.

We became friends, and it didn’t matter that he was sixteen years older than me. We had a lot in common—like our love of old rock music and vintage fast cars, and our aversion to relationships.

When he approached me with a crazy idea to help me out, I couldn’t say no.

The arrangement was supposed to be temporary. A marriage on paper and nothing else.

It should’ve been easy, but it wasn’t.

Because here I am, eighteen years-old, still in high school, and married to a man I was never supposed to fall in love with.

We had just one rule—no kissing the bride.

But we broke that rule, and it sealed our fate forever.

Don’t Kiss the Bride
(A standalone)

Publication Date: February 1, 2021

Genre: Contemporary/Forbidden/Age-gap romance

Author: Carian Cole

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Carian Cole guts me everytime! But this book contained moments of joy and laughter that was mixed in with Carian’s deep emotional writing which made it a wonderful hit.

This was a story of broken souls that recognized and reached out to another broken soul. Jude and Skyler recognized something in one another regardless of age, demographic, or hardship. Their story is slow burning, but one that grows from friendship, helping one another and eventually a deep love connection.

I think what tugged at my emotions (or really made me angry) the most was when people jumped into to give their two cents on Jude and Skyler’s relationship. It always did more harm than good in each instance, given way to societal norms or their own views vs. listening to Jude or Skyler first. How often has someone tried to do this to your own relationship without having inside knowledge, and yet, once the doubts are placed the cracks begin to form and you begin to question everything. It’s crazy how often people let outside forces affect their inside decisions.

I digress…Jude is a man followed by demons of his past and when he first meets Skyler he feels by helping her he will right some of his past wrongs. Sure Skyler is an attractive girl, but that isn’t quite in his conscious thoughts, he sees her more of – what happened to when his sister disappeared and what if someone like him had been kind and hopefully helped her kind of scenario. Once he does convince Skyler to take his help, their relationship does develop into friends first and then something more later.

In the beginning, Skyler also didn’t see Jude as anything but a safe harbor. She was in a horrible situation, but he offered a clean, safe place to stay. While she hated handouts, she also knew she’d most likely perish living where she currently did. His offer of friendship evolved as they spent more time together and she never guessed that her feelings for him would grow into something more.

Over time they mend each other by supporting what’s missing in their lives and filling in the cracks of their hearts. While they both profess they aren’t relationship people, they both unconsciously crave one another when the other is absent.

Skyler’s sharp wit mixed with Jude’s dark humor is the perfect blend to levitate the emotional moments making Jude and Skyler’s story another wonderful hit.

I also have to say I’ve personally known several people with Skyler’s problems, either singularly or mixed together, so this book hit me on a personal level. The weight of carrying any demons from a scarred childhood don’t leave very easily and the fact that Jude is patient and so tender with Skyler while he carries his own demons on his back made this story very touching.

My dream was simple. Graduate this spring, save up enough money to escape the house of horrors I was living in, and see the world in a cool RV with my cat, Gus. No strings.

Then I passed out and face-planted in front of sexy, brooding Jude “Lucky” Lucketti, and he rushed me to the ER. It wasn’t one of my finest moments. But it was one of his. I guess you could say I was a damsel in distress, and Jude was my knight in shining armor. He became my own personal hero, turning up in all the right places at the right times.

But in reality, I was a girl with a serious eating disorder and a lot of bad luck, and he was a hot, older construction worker with lots of muscles and tattoos.

Under his rough exterior, he was a good guy. We became friends, and it didn’t matter that he was sixteen years older than me. We had a lot in common—like our love of rock music and vintage cars, and a mutual anti-marriage stance after coming from broken homes.

So when he proposed, it wasn’t like you think. He figured if he married me and put me on his insurance plan, I could get the medical treatment I needed and couldn’t afford. He even told me I could move into the extra bedroom at his house.

I said yes.

The arrangement would be temporary. A marriage on paper and nothing else. Within a year, we’d divorce.

It should have been easy, but it wasn’t.

Because here I am, eighteen years-old, still in high school, and married to a man I was never supposed to fall in love with.

I did, though.

We had just one rule—no kissing the bride.

Little did we know, breaking that rule on our wedding day would seal our fate forever.

Review – Asher by Carian Cole

Asher; Ashes and Embers #6
(#6 within a series)

by: Carian Cole

Review Rating:

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Carian Cole never fails to write her entire heart and soul into every book. She has the power to build the angst while her characters bleed on the page and rip out your emotions while you weep for them as they reach for their HEA. I am emotionally drained every single time I read one of her books and yet I always go back for more. She is an artist at her craft.

Asher and Ember’s story has been woven throughout the entire Ashes to Embers series, doled out in bits and pieces so we knew some of their love history and some of their shattering present. However, it was just pieces.

  • What really occurred on the tragic day of Ember’s accident?
  • What was it like for Asher to live for years without his wife by his side?
  • How do you switch from spouse to caregiver back to lover again when so much time and turmoil has occurred?
  • How do you look in the mirror at a face that you don’t recognize, but everyone around you says you should?

I could go on with my questioning, but thankfully Carian answers these and so many more in this story. I was wrecked over the intensity of Ember and Asher and I believe you will be too.

This is their story, both past and present. Woven together in a way that will engage you and rip you apart at the same time.

Trying to explain to my spouse and daughter how moved I felt was intense at times, but this is the type of book that will make you cuddle up closer to those you love and hug them a little longer. These are the type of books that Carian Cole writes and it is a deeply moving experience.

The end of the year is right around the corner and I enjoy taking the time to reflect on what has transpired over the past year not only to dip my toes in the memories, but also to gain insight from any errors in chances of improvement.

For as long as I can remember I have always written down the books that I read. This is long before the invention of Goodreads or any other such app for said use. I actually used this little invention called a notebook and whatever writing utensil I had at my disposal when I finished a book. Back when I used said notebook, I wrote down the books by what year I read them, I kept track of my favorite authors, the series they wrote, and of course if I loved the book by doing what…by placing hearts beside the title (not stars-sorry goodreads you missed out on a stellar idea there). Back in the day I also recorded if I actually owned the beloved book as well since the local library was my friend and I was a broke teenager that eventually grew into a broke adult (okay, I eventually got a job to support my reading habit because I have this obsessive need to own the books I read. I like to read and then reread books, especially when a new book in the series is releasing). Needless to say, my bible of reading was a godsend on many occasions years ago (how many times have you wondered if you’ve read a book before 🙋🏼‍♀️), which is why I know the apps are so popular now-a-days.

Sooooo, this is why I continue to pull out the best of the best. It’s not an easy task and here’s my reason why; I thoroughly enjoy reading – I know if you are even reading this article you probably do too, but seriously I really do. Once again, I take you back to a time I can barely remember and my bookshelves were overflowing with books. From that time they were filled with Dr. Seuss and The Berenstain Bears to now my ereader is filled with every troupe of romance possible (and my bookshelves are still filled with many of my childhood favorites along with lots of my first romantic paperbacks – I refuse to part with so many wonderful reading memories,you did catch the part where I’m obsessed-right?).

But, back to the matter at hand, it has been a pleasure and an honor to read every book I have this year. A pure joy to help spread the news of cover reveals, new releases, teasers, excerpt reveals, blog tours, any and all of the above that helped spread the word of the authors hard work. I seriously enjoy the blog work I do, so if you have time, or missed out on anything from this past year:

The Best Of 2018

There were a lot of strong contenders for the best book in 2018. I had a difficult time narrowing it down. Seriously. I was even debating on making honorable mentions, subcategories and so on and so forth I didn’t want to leave out any excellent books. This has been, so far, the toughest year to make a clear cut choice. So, back to what I saying up above; job well done to all of the authors for making this a tough call because every year should be this difficult.

So, without further ado the choices for 2018….

*Every category is totally and completely picked by Kay Daniels Romance and all opinions are my own*

1. The Best Romance Novel of 2018:
The Good Samaritanby R.C. Boldt

Like I said, I had trouble picking a book for this category, but once I really began to think about the books I was circling, here’s the questions that kept popping up in my mind and after I thought about them then the answer was easy. What book moved me once I was done reading it? What actually made a difference in my life? I love reading to escape, that’s a given, and I love, love, love a good romance story, but what transcended beyond the pages?

The winner for the Best Book of 2018 is The Good Samaritan. It had me thinking locally, nationally and hopefully globally. This book had me thinking of the “pay it forward”, “be kind to your neighbor”, “pass a smile”, etc… You name it, my mind constantly goes to the kindness concept because of this book. You never know what a stranger is going through and you never know where you may end up next and may need a strangers help. We should all treat others with more respect and kindness and the world would be a better place. We all know this concept and should practice this concept and yet, I know many of us don’t. Read The Good Samaritan and it will not only change how you look at others, but will also have you thinking about how you treat your fellow man.  Perhaps 2019 will be the year we can all be good samaritans.

Here is the synopsis:

Jude is living on the streets, a homeless man by choice. Why? That is something I’ll let you discover, but he feels the necessity to atone for his sins. While living among the lowest of the low, he secretly and selflessly helps those in need. His good deeds are picked up by the news who want to know who “The Good Samaritan” is, he has no desire to ever let his identity be discovered. He has no intention of ever returning to his former life, but when he meets Faith he may have no choice in hiding who he is anymore.

“Some might think I’d feel whole again by now, that I’d have gained some semblance of closure, but it hasn’t happened. Though the grief has lessened, the guilt remains. I haven’t paid enough for my wrongdoings.”-Jude

Faith thought she was a dead woman, that was until someone saved her life. She never thought she’d get to thank the man who rescued her, but he came back to check on her. The one snag in thanking her rescuer, her boss wants his story and she can tell he doesn’t want it told. Something about the homeless man calls to her, she should be freaked out by where her thoughts take her, but something says there is more to the man than what he portrays. Will getting to the bottom of who he really is push away the one man she really feels a connection to, but perhaps shouldn’t?

“I vow to do everything in my power to keep this woman safe. Even if it’s from myself.”-Jude

When someone actually likes you for you, flaws and all, you feel ten feet tall. It doesn’t take a lot to feel a connection, it just takes a spark and when you know a good person, you know. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes that person a while to believe it themselves because when you have nothing, you have nothing to lose, but when you begin to form attachments that’s when things change and begin to mean everything.

“As if sensing my attention, she glances up, and I stiffen in response. Because I’m me. Homeless. A guy with nothing to offer.”-Jude

Jude and Faith have nothing and yet everything to risk. Their story will inspire and move you in a way that I can hardly begin to explain, but I hope you enjoy and feel inspired like I did.

2. The Best NA Book I read in 2018:
No Tomorrow by Carian Cole

No Tomorrow is another book I read this year that left me gutted for days. It is also a book that has transcended the pages. I found myself referencing it in conversations, thinking about it while lost in thought, and knowing there are people who could be comforted by reading this story, but also who weren’t ready to read it given their emotional state of mind.

What is No Tomorrow about? I hate giving too much away, but in this circumstance I will say this…In a time where anxiety, depression, and mental illness seems to be at an all time high, a book like No Tomorrow can seem hard to read, but for those of us who live with or know someone or love someone who suffer from any of these illnesses this book wrapped around me and comforted me like nothing ever has in my entire life.  I can only imagine the author as she wrote the book and how it had to have affected her. Writing this kind of gut-wrenching-emotional read. It had to be taxing because it was emotional to read. The story was well crafted, well written, and I enjoyed reading it immensely.

Here is the synopsis:

No Tomorrow is not a typical love story. Carian Cole tweeted that you may get to a point where you will feel like tossing the story across the room. She isn’t exactly wrong, but the story is so compelling you’ll run right over and pick the story back up because you have to know what happens to these two people, so keep the book close by after you toss it.

Piper, in her youth, naivety, and belief in love is drawn to Evan “Blue” over and over again. The light that shines in him is a belief that continues to bring her back, even when he is filled with darkness. In her naive youth she wants to “fix” him and never gives up hope that he can be the man only she seems to see he can be.

Blue doesn’t believe he can be fixed, but if one person can do it it’s Piper. It’s the one time he feels normal, unfortunately that feeling never lasts for long. With the road calling his name he knows he can’t drag her down with his problems. If only he didn’t always mess up the good things in his life.

No Tomorrow will take you on a journey of life, love, and its tribulations. No life is perfect. No love is either. But perhaps we can find someone to share it with that makes life worth living through all of the tomorrows.

3. My new favorite-discovered-author-to-keep-watching (or reading) in 2019:
Heather M. Orgeron

Like picking a best book, I also had trouble narrowing down a favorite new author. I know, what trouble to have (not).  In 2018 I was introduced to several new authors that I rocked my world, but like picking a best book, I used similar qualifications to pick a winner and Heather came out on top. How? First, I looked over all the new authors that graced my shelves this past year and then counted up how many books I read by that particular author. It made sense that if I loved a new author I would read them often, right? Sure. As I scaled down my list I also used other qualifiers like content and ratings, etc…then I finally had to pick my winner.

Overall, I only read two of Heather’s books. Of all the new authors I had to choose from she seemed like the most unlikely candidate since I did read others more. But of her two books, it came down to; she impacted me the more than other authors whom I read more frequently. Heather displayed a huge writing range, full of emotional talent and she is only at the beginning of her writing career. Her ability to write a sidesplitting romcom and also expertly write a deeply gutwreching, emotional contemporary made me recommend both of her books repeatedly throughout the year.

I read Dopplebanger early on in 2018. I was LOLing so hard through this book I immediately recommended to a friend who said she needed a good laugh. She buys everything in paperback, bless her heart, but once she was done, she loaned the book to another friend because she loved the book as well!!

Heartbreak Warfare tore me up, chewed me up, spit me out and then slowly glued me back together. I cannot remember reading anything like this book ever. If you are looking for a life changing read, pick up this book. I promise it will change your life as well.

I look forward to reading what Heather brings to the reading world in 2019 because I will continue to recommend her writing to anyone looking for excellent books.

4. The Sexiest Cover of 2018:
Make You Mine by Tia Louise

So many books and so much sexiness. There were so many to gawk at…I mean choose from. It was a hard, yummy, eye-drying-out process, but I did it all for you (and maybe for some wallpaper ideas, but mostly for you). I’m such a good friend.

So thank you once again to all the models that rock these photo shoots. Thank you for all of the hard workouts and denying yourself sweets so we could enjoy your sexy abs and those mouth watering notches in the sides of your abdomen that point down to the real hidden treasure that is underneath your beltline.  You are the MVP’s who light up our dreams.

So without further ado….

The beard scruff, the intense stare, the pecs, the arms, and the way he’s holding his woman. Yes, please! Make me yours. Thank you Tia Louise for the sexiest cover of 2018!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As 2018 ends and I move forward into a new year. I close out my records and open a clean slate. It’s been fun reflecting over what I read this past year and for many of the books I feel like the comic below…
However, I’m looking forward to the many new adventures I get to take and the new friends I will meet as I open the covers of new books (okay I really open the app on my electronic device, but you understand the meaning).
2019 book hangover here I come…
To everyone have a wonderful holiday season and thank you for tuning in.
Keep Reading, Keep Writing and Keep Dreaming!
A Cool Review of Fall Releases
Released The Fall of 2018
Looking back at this fall’s New Releases I was wondering how I was going limit myself to the ones I wanted to highlight because I have seriously read a lot of good books this fall. However, given that next month I will be also be taking a look back at the entire year I knew I had to limit myself so I wasn’t completely redundant. So, without further ado, I’d like to take a moment to recap some of my favorite books that were published this fall.
When life gets to be too much or basically you just need a pick me up, Lauren Blakely knows how to write a RomCom that will just make you feel good. This fall she introduced us the The Heartbreakers, three brothers who were not only sexy musicians, but also family men with huge hearts. This sexy romantic comedy series is full of laughter, heart, and steamy romance.
The Heartbreaker series
by Lauren Blakely
Three brothers. Three rockstars. Three standalone rom-coms to melt your heart and your panties.
Once Upon A Real Good Time
That smoking hot one-night stand with a former rock star?
Turns out he’s my son’s new music teacher. Oops.
But I didn’t know that the night I met Campbell. All I knew was he played my body the same way he played a guitar — like he owned it.
My libido is still high-fiving me after being self-served for too many years, and we’re both ready for another night or two of fun, especially since we don’t just have chemistry in bed — we connect over everything.
That is, until I learn he’s the man who’ll be coming to my house twice a week to teach my son — the best music lessons money can buy.
Time to turn down the volume on our shenanigans. Only that’s easier said than done.
***
I can rock a guitar solo in front of thousands, I can write chart-topping tunes, and I can absolutely stop thinking about my student’s mother naked.
After all, I’m a single parent too, and I know what it’s like to put your kid first. That’s what I do every damn day.
Trouble is, now that I’ve had Mackenzie, it’s hard — and I do mean hard — to stop wanting her. Harder too when I get to know her, and learn she’s an awesome mom, a great friend, and, oh yeah, she happens to get along perfectly with my daughter.
All we have to do is set some rules. No dating, no nookie when the kids are around, and no one gets hurt.
It’s all working out beautifully. Until we start breaking the rules, one by one.
Making music with her in the bedroom is easy. But will we be more than just a real good time when the music stops?
Once Upon A Sure Thing
It’s so easy being best friends with a gorgeous, talented, charming guy.
Said no woman ever. Except me.
My friendship with Miller is a sure thing — he’s my plus one, my emergency contact, and my shoulder to lean on. He’s also been by my side helping me raise one helluva awesome kid who’s the center of my world.
Nothing will change our easy breezy friendship. Until I have the bright idea to convince him to start a new band with me.
Trouble is, our sizzling chemistry in the recording studio is getting harder to ignore, no matter how risky it might be.
***
Sing sexy songs with the woman you’ve been lusting after? Get up close and personal as you croon to the woman you’ve wanted for years?
Piece of cake.
NOT.
Performing with the sweet, sassy and insanely wonderful Ally is like one gigantic obstacle course of challenges for my libido. And my libido is one sexy love song away from kissing her senseless and taking her home.
But, I’m not a serious kind of guy, and she’s not a one-night-stand kind of woman. If we cross the horizontal line, we might risk our sure thing and end up out of tune forever…
Once Upon A Wild Fling
My brother’s best friend has a proposition for me. Have I mentioned he’s a sexy single dad? Tell me more…
There are a million reasons why Miles Hart isn’t the man I should date but allow me to enumerate the top three. He’s friends with my brother, he’s a single dad, and he’s a sexy, in-demand rock star. He might as well wear an off-limits, totally unavailable, and don’t-even-attempt-to-ride-this-ride sign.
Then he asks me to be his plus-one when his band plays at his high school reunion, and the night unfolds in ways I never expect.
***
I have three good reasons to keep my hands off Roxy Sterling–her brother’s my business manager and good buddy, my kid is the center of my world, and the last time I fell hard for a woman I was burned so badly that my interest in relationships has gone up in flames. But once I bring Roxy’s body next to mine on the dance floor, I want all the not-safe-for-work things I can’t have with her. So I make a proposition.
Then I learn exactly how risky we might be.
I read for many reasons, enjoyment being a huge chunk of that reasoning pie, but another piece is to be moved. The Good Samaritan moved me in such a way that I have continued thinking about it days, weeks, and now even months after reading it. It has the kind of inspiring story that makes me want to make a difference and especially have a pay-it-forward attitude. This book is just that good. Read it and discover your own inspiration.
The Good Samaritan
by R.C. Boldt
The biggest story of her life is the one he wants to hide.
I’m homeless by choice.
I have no intention of returning to my former life after what I’ve done.
This—living among the filth and discarded remnants of others—is what I deserve.
As atonement for my sins, I give back; I help those who cannot help themselves. But it’s always under the guise of anonymity.
Newspaper headlines throughout the city are clamoring to discover my identity. Including the beautiful woman who manages to see through my “armor.”
She has the capability to put my entire life at risk.
Paperback 330 pages
Much like life where you are trying to figure out how to adult, reign in your every changing hormones, finish school or climb the ladder in a job market full of rules you didn’t make; The New Adult category mirrors those angst ridden times.  In No Tomorrow, I was raked through the coals, beaten, bruised…okay not literally, but it’s what my emotions felt like after reading it. This book is so emotional I seriously needed time to wallow and process after reading it. It’s amazing and heartbreaking and devastating and just so, so, so good.
No Tomorrow
by Carian Cole
The people we love are thieves.
They steal our hearts. They steal our breath.
They steal our sanity.
And we let them.
Over and over and over again.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
They say you never forget your first time.
Mine was with a homeless musician who effed my brains out under a bridge.
He was my first love. And fourteen years later, I still can’t get him out of my head.
He broke all my rules.
He also broke my heart.
I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar.
But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.
Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true.
You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the bridge. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.
I thought I knew everything about him.
But I could not have been more wrong.
He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting.
And hoping.
Again.
I was both leary and intrigued when Suit came my way. It’s a fictionalized memoir, which is nothing like I’ve read before and honestly it was amazing! I normally don’t like biographies, I instantly snooze and zone out, but this was anything but. The love story and changes that both BB and Ken underwent were touching and sometimes very close to home. Even though Suit is part of a series, it can also be read as a complete standalone.
Suit; A 44 chapters novel
by B.B. Easton
Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her bestselling, award-winning memoir, 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy standalone. SUIT is Ken’s book—the hilarious, heartwarming tale of how BB finally got over her bad boy phase and found happily ever after with…gasp…a guy in a tie.
“Since when are you into guys in ties? You only like guys who look like they rob guys in ties. At gunpoint.”
It was true. By 2003, my type had been well-established. There might as well have been a giant sign on my heart that said, Good Guys Need Not Apply.
Which is exactly why I had to friend-zone Ken Easton. The man was a former football star, smelled like fresh laundry instead of stale cigarettes, and had more ties in his closet than tattoos on his knuckles. Pssh. BOR-ING.
But the more I got to know my hunky study buddy, the more questions I came away with. Questions like: Why doesn’t he date? Why does he avoid human touch? Why does he hate all things fun and wonderful?
The psychology student in me became obsessed with getting inside Ken’s head, while the spoiled brat in me became obsessed with getting inside his heart.
In 2003, I found the one thing I love more than bad boys…
A good challenge.
I’ve read many books that talk about PTSD or have a character suffering from PTSD, but nothing I’ve read delved quite as deep like Heartbreak Warfare does. I was constantly torn in two over the emotional battle the characters faced and filled with pride for the soldiers who sign up to protect our country knowing the evil that constantly wants to destroy it. This book did a number on my heart and I’ll warn you it’s not a light, fluffy, nor easy read, but it is one that should be read. It’s relevant and you will be consumed like I have been and then pass it along to share.
Heartbreak Warfare
by Heather M Orgeron & Kate Stewart
Briggs,
Remember when we parted ways in Germany? It was the day I broke your heart. What you didn’t know was that I was breaking mine too.
I thought they’d be enough–my husband and my son. That I’d get home and everything would go back to the way it was . . .
Before the war.
Before the ambush.
Before you.
But, no matter how hard I try, I can’t erase the trauma we shared. I can’t seem to forget the way my heart beat in time with yours.
The truth is I’m lost without you.
I thought the nightmare was over when they pulled us from that hole in the ground, but nothing could have prepared me for the war I’d face at home.
I know it’s selfish of me to ask, but, please, I have to see you one last time. . .
All my love,
Scottie.
I have been waiting for this final installment to the Pucked series for quite awhile, but like a fine wine, you don’t want to rush a good thing before it’s ready.
Pucked Love is perfect and I’m so glad that Helena didn’t rush to put out a book that wasn’t absolute perfection. Not only do the main characters get the story that reflects the people we’ve come to know over the growing arc, but we also get to tie up all the loveable characters we already know as this series comes to an end without it overshadowing the main storyline. As sad as I am to say goodbye, it couldn’t have been done in a better way.
Pucked Love (Pucked #6)
by Helena Hunting
As an NHL player, relationships haven’t been my thing. Shrouded in secrecy and speculation, they never last very long. But then that’s what happens when you require an NDA before the first date.
Until Charlene. She’s like a firefly. She’s elusive, and if you catch her she’ll burn bright, but keeping her trapped dulls her fire and dims her beauty.
I caught her. And as much as I might want to keep her, I’ll never put the lid on her jar. Not at the risk of losing her. So I’ve let her set the rules in our relationship.
But as long hidden secrets expose us both, I discover exactly how fragile Charlene is, and how much I need her.
We’re all broken. We’re all messed up. Some more than others. Me more than most.
Review – No Tomorrow
No Tomorrow (Standalone)
by Carian Cole (Author)
This review is from: September 9, 2018 By Kay Daniels (Kindle Edition-Goodreads)
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I finished No Tomorrow almost a week ago and I’ve been struggling with how to put into words what I want to say. Not because I didn’t like it, that is far from the case, but all that originally came to mind were emoji’s vs words.
Seriously.
Here is the gamut of what I ran through since I couldn’t express it in words to begin with.
I was at a complete loss for words over this book. It cored me out and left me virtually speechless. And for anyone who knows me personally well… that is a rare occurrence.
No Tomorrow had me twisted up in knots. How do I review this book without #1 giving everything away, because you really need to experience it yourself and #2 write down what I felt when what I felt was everything.
I was imagining the author as she wrote this and how it had to affect her. Writing this kind of gut-wrenching-emotional read. Whoa. It had to be taxing because it was emotional to read. The story was well crafted, well written, and I enjoyed reading it immensely. It spoke to me on a personal level and perhaps that’s just one more reason why it’s been a little tough to put words to paper.
On one last note, No Tomorrow is not a typical love story. Carian Cole tweeted that you may get to a point where you will feel like tossing the story across the room. She isn’t exactly wrong, but the story is so compelling you’ll run right over and pick the story back up because you have to know what happens to these two people, so keep the book close by after you toss it.
In her naive youth she wants to “fix” him and never gives up hope that he can be the man only she seems to see he can be.
Blue doesn’t believe he can be fixed, but if one person can do it it’s Piper. It’s the one time he feels normal, unfortunately that feeling never lasts for long. With the road calling his name he knows he can’t drag her down with his problems. If only he didn’t always mess up the good things in his life.
No Tomorrow will take you on a journey of life, love, and its tribulations. No life is perfect. No love is either. But perhaps we can find someone to share it with that makes life worth living through all of the tomorrows.
