Blog Tour – Unraveling Mack Ryder by Anna Brooks

 Release Date: August 8

She was the complete opposite of me in every way; sweet, spontaneous, and full of sunshine… she was also half my age.

The world was her playground, and Nova Skye spent every breath fearlessly exploring it. Her passion for adventure was contrary to the solitude I loved, yet somehow, I couldn’t get enough.

Her innocence sparked a flame in my empty soul, burning down every defense I had. By the time I started to believe in the us she said we could be, it was too late. My free-spirited rebel was gone, taking what was left of me with her.

Without her, I learned that home wasn’t just a place, it was Nova… and it was finally time to come home.

Unraveling Mack; Ryder Ranch #4
(Standalone within a series)

Publication Date: August 8, 2022

Genre/Tropes: Age Gap/Grumpy-Sunshine/Opposites Attract/Small Town Romance

Author: Anna Brooks

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
Yum, yum, Mack Daddy!!! I love a good grumpy-sunshine novel and Mack Daddy…I mean Unravelling Mack Ryder is a really good opposites attract, grumpy-sunshine book.

Mack Ryder has had love and lost it in one of the toughest ways possible. His first wife abandoned him and his four children leaving him with no closure or word on her whereabouts for yearssssssss. It was only upon her deathbed that she contacted her family, finally trying to close a wound that had been festering, but never fully healing. Mack should have found peace knowing his wife was finally at rest, but like all heartbreak, he suffered from all the years of abandonment making it nearly impossible for him to move forward. That is until Nova came to town.

Nova is the perfect name for the bright personality and shiny light that she brings into Mack’s life. While Nova is younger in age, she has an old soul and makes the perfect match to Mack’s grumpy persona.

Nova is a free spirit nomad, never staying in one place for long. Instead, Nova lets life guide her to her next adventure, that is until she meets the Ryder family and she feels the pull for something more, perhaps something permanent. However, Mack is adamant about pushing her away and not dimming her light. His fear is real, his first wife left when she felt smothered by ranch life and Mack isn’t about to fall again only to be broken by love. Nova doesn’t know much about what makes him tick, but it does make it tough to fight for something that she knows she’s never had. She wants Mack, but If Mack doesn’t want her and staying in one spot is all he’s ever known then surely there must be a reason, if only she wasn’t so drawn to the grouchy man.

These two together are pure magic, but they are also a little toxic. It’s quite the recipe for one angsty read, but by the end, my heart was overflowing with so much love for these two I couldn’t stop smiling and wishing all the wonderful things for them and their extended family.

I love all the Ryder’s and every time they all came together. For fans of the series this book will warm the heart and for anyone just jumping in, it will make a new fan of the Ryder family. I know I have loved the journey as each of them have found love, but none so much as Mack and Nova. Their story is hard fought and quite lovely too.

Review – Wilder by Anna Brooks

Wilder; Ryder Ranch #2
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: August 26, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Contemporary/Second Chance Romance

Author: Anna Brooks

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

A steamy, multiple chance love story, that began as young love and blossomed into a forever kind of love.

Wilder Ryder and Frankie Young met multiple times throughout their youth and those times had a lasting impact on who they became and who they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with into their adulthood.

These two crossed paths over and over and seemed destined to be together, but obstacles keep getting in their way. They have HUGE chemistry together and Wilder is hawt…dang…he’s super hot, but is attraction enough to keep them together?

I felt like this second Ryder book is deeper in the feels, but that could be the artist nature of Frankie and the sensitive nature of Wilder. As the second child he’s very in tune to his siblings and losing his mother affected them all, but that loss made him dialed in to his feelings and then up front to what he wasn’t willing to lose in the future. However, when he let go, which there was only one spot he actually let go…watch out because Wilder is Wild.

Frankie also took on a lot of responsibility at a very young age. Her sister got pregnant very young and Frankie stepped up and helped out raising her niece, but she never lost her shine and started a business, all at the suggestion of a young boy she met long ago.

These two are magical everytime they are together and I love returning to Ryder Ranch to see old friends and meet new ones.

Synopsis:

I was too young to understand the beauty of what I held in my arms when she crashed into my world.

Frankie Young was never far from my mind, so when she came back into my life after nearly a decade, it was as if no time had passed.

After we reconnected in more ways than one, there was no denying what we had was extraordinary and, I thought, forever. But when she discovered something I’d been hiding, she gave up on us without giving me a chance to explain.

My lies broke her heart, but her walking away shattered what was left of mine. I thought that was the end for us… until Frankie and I found ourselves bound together for life. While we navigated our new found destiny, not only did we have to fight for each other, but we had to protect our future from someone who didn’t want us to have one together.

Blog Tour – Hunter by Anna Brooks

 Release Date: June 10

I never expected a runaway cow would have led me to the love of my life, but chasing after that heifer turned out to be the best decision I ever made.

Summer Paige was lost, alone, and a mess… just like her nearly totaled car. After a glass of whiskey and a promise to keep her
safe, I convinced her to stay while she got back on her feet.

It wasn’t long before the innocent beauty turned my life upside down, and I realized she was everything I didn’t know I wanted.

Life was perfect. Until the day I woke up and
found her gone.

Her letter was supposed to explain why she left, but it did the opposite and made me want her even more. I had to prove that her
past didn’t matter to me because all I wanted was her future. And I intended to
do just that… as soon as I found her.

Hunter; Ryder Ranch #1
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: June 10, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Cowboy/Small town/Contemporary Romance

Author: Anna Brooks

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
I only recently discovered Anna Brooks and I’m already a huge fan! Within the first chapter I was giggling over sassy Summer and swooning over all the swagger Hunter was throwing out. I loved the entire story and couldn’t put it down. This was a big yes…yes….yes!!!

Summer may have landed on Hunter’s property by accident, but it’s truly the first time she’s felt at home in her entire life. It’s hard not to feel warm and accepted in the Ryder family with the small town welcome, but Hunter makes her stay even more inviting.

Hunter has never felt more at ease with any woman before, that is until Summer has an accident with a cow on his property. Offering to let her stay was the easiest choice he’s ever made in his entire life, but getting her to stay may be the hardest thing he’s ever accomplished.

These two fit together seamlessly. Their chemistry is electric and fitting in with the family is flawless. But, what is the big secret that Summer is keeping that could destroy everything?

Hunter is the first in a new series and I’m totally onboard for the rest of the Ryder cowboy brothers to ride to the rescue of their HEA’s. I adore the small town atmosphere, it reminds me so much of where I currently live;  the people, the hospitality, yes, everyone is all up in your business, but it’s also nice because people do care, but I do wish there were hunky cowboys riding to the rescue, thank goodness for books.

I love, love, love this new series and can not wait to return.

Review – When the Storm Breaks by Emery Rose

54264834. sy475

When the Storm Breaks; Lost Stars #2
(An interconnected standalone within a series)

Publication Date: March 5, 2021

Genre/Tropes: Contemporary/Single Dad/Rock Star/Cowboy Romance

Author: Emery Rose

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

Layers and layers that create tears and emotions and feelings…it’s what Emery Rose is the best at and as much as you want to despise her for it, I keep coming back for more. I totally love the angst and heartache and just overall happiness that I end up with by the end.

Brody is a character that has always felt broken. Never measuring up, never feeling wanted, and certainly never coming first in anyone’s life. He connects better with his horses than he does with people so it’s no wonder when Shiloh comes to stay on his farm he doesn’t see much beyond her initial stay. Brody is far from an optimist, especially when it comes to relationships, but something about Shiloh and the brokenness he sees inside her calls to him like no one has before.

Shiloh may be a rockstar, but living in the spotlight isn’t exactly conducive to making genuine friends. It doesn’t help that the few people who actually know the real her have actually taken advantage of her, breaking down her spirit over and over again. She needs to get away before she starts her long tour and Brody’s ranch is just the place to do it. She never expected to fall for the grumpy cowboy, but when it comes time to leave her rockstar life is even harder to return to than she expected.

These two people live on opposite sides of the same coin. Both have been broken down by people they loved, but they are now two people who live very different lives, one in the spotlight and another who lives in the wide open country. While they have been brought together by chance could they find a middle ground and make it work?

“Her voice was my favorite sound, and I didn’t think I’d ever tire of listening to it. It still reached deep inside and rattled my bones. Made my heart ache in a way I couldn’t explain. Nobody had ever touched me the way she had.” – Brody

Over and over my heart broke for Brody. While I read the first book and know Jude and Lila’s story and where Brody’s friendship came out with them, my heart aches even more knowing where his feelings were during that whole timeline. Brody constantly feels he’s never good enough, no matter what he’s doing, or where he is, or who he’s with. The rare exception is being with his son or with Shiloh, which is a first considering who she is to the world, but with him she’s just her.  So jumping into something more with a woman who could hurt him is risky and Brody is …ugh…gonna break you.

While Shiloh has her ups and downs in life as well, it’s Brody who truly captured my heart and broke it with Emery’s depthful writing. She has this way of bringing out feelings of being totally drained and filled up all at once. When the Storm Breaks feels representative of those emotions inside me, along with everything representative in the book, so have a few tissues handy.

Synopsis:

Our worlds never should have collided, but it seemed our paths were always destined to cross.

Brody McCallister was only supposed to be a means to an end. My golden ticket to get me closer to what I really needed—a way to make peace with what I’d done when I was eighteen, dirt poor, and left to fend for myself.

I only had six weeks in the middle of a hectic world tour to do it.
So the last thing I needed was to fall for a cocky cowboy. A walking contradiction with a charming grin, a dirty mouth, and a gift for healing wild and broken things.

His life was in Texas.
Mine was on the road.
He guarded his privacy fiercely.
I was constantly hounded by paparazzi.

Everyone warned me it could never work, that ultimately I’d be forced to choose—my music career or him.
I didn’t listen. I fell for him anyway.
Hook, line, and proverbial sinker.

But Brody was hiding secrets.
And when the storm finally broke, it destroyed everything in its wake … including us.

Review:

Catch up with the McKay’s and fill up with delicious western dishes.

With a short story each from Cord and AJ, Carter and Macie, Colby and Channing, Keely and Jack, Colt and India (from the Rough Rider series) and Sierra and Boone (from the Legacy series) you get a peek into each couple and their married life along with their booming new families.

We get a “taste” of country dishes from each families perspective while their daily lives move right along. Cowboy Bites give us everything from appetisers to main courses to fun desserts and tasty liquor treats. This entire book is fun and utterly delicious and I adored catching up with all of my favorite McKay’s while they experienced daily living.

My favorite moments reminding me so much of times raising my own children or when my husband admitted his own defeat in times he may have messed up. I was laughing right along with each of those precious memories.

As for the recipes enclosed, I always sway towards anything sweet so my favorite recipes were; Sierra’s Brownies—yum!! and The Slutty Mermaid as the yummiest beverage—delicious!!

EXCERPT

“What brings you here? Couldn’t resist Boyd Wolf, darlin’?”
She frowned. “I came to see to your injuries, just like I said.”

I tucked my forearm against my side, like I was covering the wound. “Nah, I told you, I’m fine.” I inched closer. “I’ll let you in on a little secret.” I was using my best bedroom voice. “I’m not the kinda guy who submits for examinations. In fact—” I let my hands settle lightly on her waist. “I prefer to be the one in charge.” I dropped my head, bringing our foreheads close. “Doing the examining, I mean.”

Her mouth fell open. She quickly shut it, licked her lips. The way her little pink tongue flicked out… fuck. This was supposed to get her distracted, not make my balls tighten and turn blue.
She lifted her hand as if to touch the spot where the horn had pierced but stopped just in time. I took hold of her fingers, pulled them to my chest. She gasped.

I growled, and she whipped her head up to mine at the sound.
“I… um.” She tried to tug her hand free, but I wasn’t letting go.

When she stopped trying to pull away, I loosened my hold but moved her hand over my chest so her fingertips could graze the line of my pectoral muscle. Goosebumps rose, my cock swelled. My wolf howled.

She was watching her fingers, and I couldn’t miss, even in the dim light since I had excellent vision, that her pupils were dilated. That thrum at her neck… it had picked up.
I inhaled deeply, breathing in that peach scent. And more. “You’re sweet everywhere, aren’t you, darlin’?”

Yeah, her pussy was going to be so fucking sweet. Sticky sweet because she was wet. I didn’t have to slip my hand into her panties to know for sure. This close, with only the earthy scents of the barn as a distraction, I couldn’t miss her arousal.

“I… I came to—”
“You haven’t come yet, Audrey.”

New York Times bestselling author Lorelei James returns for another wild ride in Wyoming with a new Blacktop Cowboys® novel in
SPUN OUT!!

Years in the Army equipped Bailey Masterson for many things: target shooting, rappelling off cliffs, dodging grenades. She’s lived through horrors that still give her nightmares. But nothing in Bailey’s life-or-death training prepared her for caring for the tiny terror that is five-year-old Olivia Hale. Or how to control her raging attraction to Olivia’s father, Streeter, the rugged, green-eyed cattle rancher who undermines her every move even when he stars in her dreams.

Streeter Hale has room for only two things in his life: his daughter and his job. He doesn’t date. He doesn’t get attached. Not anymore. So not only is Streeter stunned by Olivia’s improved behavior after just a few days with Bailey, he’s downright floored by his immediate attraction to the woman. But with secrets in her eyes and a body that doesn’t quit, Streeter begins to worry that Bailey Masterson might just be the one woman to heal his fractured family and broken heart.

One thing’s for sure–these two wrecked souls are spinning out of control as they desperately try not to fall in love…

Spun Out; Blacktop Cowboys #10 (Series)
by Lorelei James (Author)

This review is from: October 27, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Lorelei James is not only a one-click author for me, but one of my all time favorite authors. Every reason why to both of those reasons is contained in Spun Out. Her books contain every element that make her characters and stories come to life and feel like I’ve come home. Filled with emotion, passion, meaning, and people you won’t soon forget Spun Out is a book you need to read.

Although this is the last book in the Blacktop series, Spun Out is different than the previous books (and I say that in the best way possible) and can be read as a complete standalone. Yes, there are mentions of previous characters, but Lorelei fills in the blanks of who they are (because even for myself, it’s been a few years since I’ve read some of the books and I needed a refresher so don’t worry because you will be able to follow along).

Streeter Hale (next to his brother Tobin) is probably one of my favorite characters in this series. He’s a single father raising a strong-willed, intelligent child, Olivia. Between losing his wife, his livelihood (which included a falling out with his father and older brother), and raising his daughter with almost “Sheldon Cooper” like needs, he barely makes it through the day. When Bailey, Harper’s sister, arrives for the summer and tells all the parents who live at Split Rock Resort that their child are out of control (he’s somewhat thankful it’s not just his, but at the same time knows something must be done). The parents make a decision and decide that Bailey is just the woman to wrangle their kids in.

Sergeant Bailey Masterson is straightforward, to the point, and I love that she sees not only her one nephew, Gage, who is third born getting lost in the mix of his family, and she makes special time with him, but also that she understands Olivia, Streeter’s daughter right off the bat and doesn’t discount her as a brat (well maybe headstrong, but somehow she sort of admires it). When Bailey is asked to begin a Boot Camp for the children who live at Split Rock Resort, she isn’t quite sure is she is qualified, but when they offer her free housing where she isn’t living with her sister, husband, and four children anymore, the deal doesn’t sound half bad. Besides if it means getting not only her nephews and the other children to behave better, it has to be a win-win.

Living next to the hot, single dad and his precocious daughter isn’t exactly what Bailey had in mind, but she makes the best of it, especially as the summer moves forward and her living arrangements come with benefits.

Bailey and Streeter together are so hot…I think what makes it combustible is how Bailey helps Streeter find himself again. He’s been lost for so long that she brings his self confidence and personality to the light. She is sort of instrumental for several people in finding themselves and that is her gift. I’m not sure she is entirely aware of it, but she doesn’t share too much about herself and I’m not going to give away as to why she keeps it locked up tight.

Spun Out is the conclusion to a great series, and like I said above, it is different than the others, but in the best possible way. I really hope Lorelei continues with the next generation of Split Rock children (you get the chance to meet and know several, like Olivia, in this book), but time and her muse will show us what direction she will take us.

EXCERPT

“But you are… You’re going to run a Christmas tree farm?”
“At least temporarily. Everything’s ready to go now, which means finishing out the year, or the next few years, is guaranteed money in the bank to begin other ventures. There’s contracts already made with outfits around the country, truckers on hand to drive the things to their destinations. And he owns that small lot down on the main street of town. So, I’m all set not only to sell this year’s crop around the country, but also sell it here.”
“But you don’t… You don’t actually want to…be a Christmas tree farmer?”
“My ultimate goal is cattle,” he said.
She’d had no idea. None at all. Not that he wanted his own ranch, not that he’d been unhappy at the school. Was he unhappy at the school? Was he leaving?
“What does this mean for your position at the school?”
“I will be leaving. Which I will be talking to Gabe about later tonight.”
“But…”
“With West Caldwell coming into town, there’s no need for me to hang around. He’s going to be working on the ranch.”
“Your half brother that you’ve never met. That’s putting a lot of stock in a man you don’t even know.”
“Gabe figures we owe him. And, since Gabe is awash in guilt over the whole half sibling thing, I figure that works in my favor.”
As much as Ellie loved Hank Dalton, the patriarch of the Dalton clan, it was becoming more and more clear that he was problematic. A couple of years ago it had been discovered that he had a daughter that none of them had known about. McKenna Tate. She’d come into town after discovering the identity of her family, and after some adjusting, the Dalton family had welcomed her into the full. But on the heels of that revelation had come another one.
There were three more children. All adults now.
Hank had never known about them. But Tammy had.
It had changed the relationship, that reveal.
But Hank was awash enough in the guilt from the actions in his past, that the two of them were trying to work through it to an extent. And Ellie really hoped that they did. For some selfish reasons, if she was honest. Because she loved them, and they were the closest thing to a family for her, and she didn’t want to lose them.
“But… Don’t you want to wait and see if it’s going to work out?”
“No,” Caleb said. “I don’t want to work at the school forever. This is what I want.”
That made her…angry and she couldn’t figure out exactly why. He deserved to have dreams; of course he did. But she’d just…assumed he was happy with the way things were. She’d somehow meshed his dreams together with hers.
Had decided that what she was doing with his family ranch, with the school, was what he wanted, too.
But if she didn’t feel great about him fighting fires anymore, maybe he didn’t, either. And she’d never asked. She’d only thought about it in terms of her own comfort. That wasn’t right at all.
Still, the idea of him having his own endeavors, his own life farther away from her and not right all around her while they worked…
She needed him. She really had. She still did.
She didn’t like this…this change. But she should be happy for him, and it made her feel… She felt bad. And she didn’t like feeling bad about something that was good for her friend.
“I’d… Well, congratulations,” she said. Even though she didn’t feel like congratulating him at all. She felt like having a tantrum.
She really didn’t know why.
“Thank you,” he said, his mouth quirking up into a half smile that made it very clear he was well aware she wasn’t having the best reaction to his news.
“I’ll miss seeing you.” The words more plaintive than she intended.
“I’m not moving away,” he said.
“Yeah, but I see you all the time,” she protested.
“You will still see me all the time.”
“But you won’t be dropping Amelia off when I want you to.”
“Probably not.”
Her stomach twisted, but that wasn’t what was upsetting her. She knew it wasn’t.
And then it hit her, as strongly as that melancholy had when she’d realized it was nearly the Christmas season.
This phase of life was over.
The one where he was here to carry her. Where she had a crutch to get her through what life looked like without Clint. Being a single mother.
It was changing.
It had begun to change months ago, when the idea for the school had come about. She had gone back to work.
But she’d been a fledgling, and he’d been there to help her.
Maybe she needed to make some changes, too.
Maybe, instead of dreading Christmas, she needed to get started on her wish list.

All Suzanne St. Michelle wants is an over-the-top, eggnog-induced holiday with her best friend in Credence, Colorado. But when her hoity-toity parents insist she come home for Christmas in New York, she blurts out that her sexy landlord is actually her boyfriend and she can’t leave him—Joshy loves Christmas. And somehow…she gets him to agree.

Apparently, he’ll do anything to get his quiet life back. At least there’s mistletoe every two feet—and kissing Suzy is surprisingly easy. Cover Reveal – The Rest of Me by Ashley Munoz

🔥🔥 COVER REVEAL🔥🔥

Check out Ashley Munoz’s amazing cover! The Rest of Me is coming on October 18th!

BLURB

Death never simply settles for the life it claims.

It’s greedy.

It stole all of our lives that night and while it put my husband in the ground, it left my four children and me behind.

After an ugly year of grief, something had to change.

My sister suggested open spaces, big skies and fresh air in the heart of Wyoming.

We settled into our shared estate the best we could, until I met my new neighbor.

Arrogant, bossy and rude; Reid was easily the worst person I’d ever met. I’d decided to write him off entirely until I realized he was the only local horse instructor.

I’d heard that if I could get my kids onto a horse, they’d start to heal.

Desperation had me creating an alliance with him.

Envy had me craving the connection he had with them.

Distracted by the newness of our situation, I missed how close his demons danced to my ghosts. While I was ignorantly letting him take my heart, it was too late to realize . . .

He’d already stolen it once before.

EXCERPT

There was an awkward silence that hung between us. I was looking at Reid’s bare toes, from where he had one foot kicked over the other, angling his body in the doorway, still leaving room for me to pass if I wanted to. I wasn’t looking at him though, not at his face and the longer I waited the more I knew he wanted me to.

Up my eyes went from strong calves to narrow hips, to a full six pack with ridges and lines that I had never seen on another human up close before. Up to those solid pecks and burly biceps, further north to that firm jaw and full lips, until finally I landed on those mossy eyes, narrowed on me, under a set of dark eyebrows. I took in a quick, sharp breath. The air between us was suddenly charged and in desperate need of a caution sign so no one would dare engage the empty space between it.

“Means a lot to us, or you?” Reid rasped, low and menacing, like he needed my clarification as badly as he needed his next breath.

I blinked and prayed my voice would make it past my lips, “both.”

He took a step forward, engaging that empty, charged space.

I wanted to retreat but retreating was a form of surrender and I wasn’t ready to do that with him.

Suddenly, he was toe to toe with me and just inches from my face. There was nothing but darkness and decisions between us and my heart thrashing around in my chest at what might happen if the wrong ones were made.

“Layla,” Reid whispered, bringing his hand up to the shell of my ear. I closed my eyes tight, as though I could just wait him out and he’d disappear. That same hand traveled to my waist and pulled me a fraction closer to him, until he was kissing my forehead. An imprint from his lips seared the space below my hair line. I didn’t open my eyes, I just waited. A second later, I felt the air swish between us and a whispered, “you’re welcome.” I opened my eyes to see the door closed and Reid gone.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Excerpt:

Jessica…

I dart toward the door in the far right corner and enter the bathroom, where I find a giant old-fashioned, barrel-style tub. I open one of the white cabinet doors and also find a towel, but I’m just too wet for it to help. Like that woman was for Craig. Oh God. There I go again. No. No. No. I will not think those thoughts. No more. I’m done. With him. With her. I strip down naked, wrap the towel around me, and hunt for my suitcase, which I hope like heck has the other bag of chocolate I packed.

Naked might get a girl in trouble, but I’m alone and it’s not like anyone is going to see me naked anytime soon. I can go right ahead and happily pack a few pounds of chocolate weight on a petite frame that can’t handle a few extra anything. There will be no more men for me. Therefore, there will be no trouble to be found. It’s a great plan and on this one, really truly, I dare to say, what could go wrong? I exit the bathroom into the bedroom and scream at the sight of a man standing there.

The cowboy who saved me on the side of the road is not only here, minus his trench coat and wearing a snug black T-shirt, he’s bigger and broader than I remember. The bedroom shrinks. My heart races.

“I was right,” I accuse, clutching at my towel, the only thing between me and him besides footsteps. “You are a serial killer.” I search for a weapon and I don’t know why there’s a giant flashlight on the nightstand, but it’s long and strong, and I grab it, my new prize. I also manage to drop my towel. Oh my God, I’ve dropped my towel. Goose bumps lift on my naked body and, Lord help me, my nipples pucker.

I try to grab my towel and almost drop the flashlight, which is a better weapon than terry cloth. I commit to the flashlight and my state of undress. “I will hit you if you come near me,” I warn. “I mean, kill you.” That sounds unrealistic and therefore lacks the bite I intend. “I will hurt you.”

He arches a brow and, to my shock and his credit, he doesn’t so much as blink at anything below my neck. I don’t know if I should be appreciative or offended. Am I not distracting? Am I not worthy of a look? Obviously, my ex didn’t think so and—

The cowboy starts walking toward me.

“What are you doing? Stay back.” I hold up the flashlight, but I’m the one backing up, hitting the wall with a hard thud. He snatches up my towel and hands it to me, his hand brushing my nipple in the process. I suck in a breath, even as the flashlight is removed from my hand and tossed on the bed. “The game is over. Getting naked won’t stop me from calling the police.”

“I’ll knee you. I’ll scream. I’ll—”

“You’re standing in my property, sweetheart.”

“This is not—”

“And yet it is. You picked the wrong house to squat in and the wrong town. I saw where you turned off. I knew where you were headed. Wrong choice, sweetheart.”

“Stop calling me sweetheart. And what the hell are you talking about? Squatter? What is a—” A bad feeling hits me. “You think I’m freeloading by sneaking in here and now I’m trying to buy a bed with my naked body? Really?”

“If the shoe fits, sweetheart.”

I scowl. “Stop calling me sweetheart. Since when do women seducing men try to hit them with a flashlight? Then again, we are talking about you here. I’m pretty sure you could make anyone want to hit you. Maybe that’s the only foreplay you know. A flashlight and a—”

“Stop,” he orders, his hands pressing to the wall on either side of me, and now his big body framing my naked body.

The Truth About Cowboys; Sweetwater #1 (Series)
by Lisa Renee Jones (Author)

This review is from: August 5, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥🔥

City girl vs. country boy makes this a must read! One cranky cowboy, although cranky doesn’t begin to sum up how twisted Jason “The Flying J” Jenks boxers are over the arrival of Jessica the divorce attorney from Dallas, Texas. The chemistry, laughter and family moments are everything in this cowboy romance.

Clearly Jessica is out of her element in the small town of Sweetwater, Texas, but as a top divorce attorney in Dallas she’s used to tackling tough cases and the cranky, cowboy Jason is just another mountain she has to tackle to enjoy her escape. Yes, she escaped, ran is more like it, from her life in the city and her fiance after she caught him cheating and called one of the firms top clients a cheating scumbag. So, it all happened on the same day and her mental status may not have been in the best state, but that isn’t the total reason she’s escaping to the middle of nowhere for a mini-vacation (temporary leave) from her job to finally write a book on divorce. Everything will be fine, except it really isn’t. Can a person be attracted to bad luck? If so, she attracts it like flies to honey.

Jason is just trying to survive. After the death of his parents he left the big city, his career, and his dream of playing baseball to come back and run the ranch that is falling down around him. Yes, he gave up his dream, but he knew his parents dream was the ranch and he will do anything to keep their dream alive. With problems escalating what he doesn’t need is the city following him to his quiet solitude in the form of a shapely woman.  Jessica is everything he left behind and he will do everything to make sure she doesn’t stay.

A divorce lawyer in the middle of nowhere who wants to stay and a sexy cowboy who doesn’t want to be there, but won’t leave. How can these two possibly find a middle ground?

The Truth About Cowboys is delicious, full of family fun and love, lots of humor and sizzling heat!

Author: Sydney Logan
Genre: Contemporary Western Romance

BLURB

They say true love never fades.

I’ve spent the last decade, and a fortune in paint, making sure of it.

Amber Tucker never dreamed she’d return to Cedar Grove, but when she finally finds the courage to leave her abusive husband, she knows her old hometown is her only option. Desperate for a new life, Amber takes her ten-year-old son and moves in with her aunt. She prays for a fresh start while hoping to avoid her childhood sweetheart—the man whose heart she broke nearly a decade ago.

Noah Murphy has spent the last ten years trying to forget Amber Tucker. He’s had a hard time letting go—as evidenced by the big red heart on his farm’s grain silo. Noah painted it when he was sixteen and crazy in love, and every spring, he gives the heart a fresh coat of paint. It’s all he has left—the only reminder that Amber was real.

That is, until she returns to Cedar Grove.

When her husband comes calling, Amber knows she has to break the cycle of abuse, once and for all. But, when she takes matters into her own hands, can Noah protect her from the consequences of her actions? Or, will he lose her all over again?

EXCERPT

I walk into the barn with every intention of looking for the horse, but my feet have other ideas, and suddenly, I find myself standing at the rickety old ladder that leads up to the hayloft.
Swallowing nervously, I slide my hand along the wood.
How many times did I climb this ladder?
I give it a little shake and decide it’s sturdy enough.
Then I climb.
Slowly.
The last thing I want to do is fall.
Or drop the wine.
That would be a tragedy.
I make it to the top, and as soon as I do, a tidal wave of emotions and memories wash over me. Staggering to the nearest bale of hay, I sit down and close my eyes.
Our hayloft was sacred. It was where Noah kissed me for the first time. One year later, it was where we lost our virginity. For more than two years it was our hiding place—our little sanctuary from the nosy eyes of the world.
Something in the corner of the loft catches my eye. Its royal blue and white—our high school colors—and I know it’s our blanket. We tried to remember to lay it down every time, but it didn’t matter. When you’re naked, hay manages to find its way into places where hay just shouldn’t be found.
I sigh deeply and lean my head back, lifting the bottle to my lips. It’s fruity and cool and does nothing but conjure more memories.
His gentle hands. My soft moans. Our heated kisses.
They play like a symphony in my head.
As promised, the storm moves in. The wind howls and the downpour rattles the roof. As the thunder rolls above my head, the barn lights start to dance.
But I’m not afraid.
This is home.
Through the thunder, I hear Noah’s voice calling my name, followed by the sound of hooves.
Crap.
I sneak a glance over the side of the loft, just in time to spot Noah as he leads Midnight inside, talking quietly to her as he guides her to the stall. He’s soaked and cursing the storm.
I close my eyes and curse my own stupidity.
“Her car’s still here, but she’s not in the office . . .”
I can hear the concern in his voice, and it breaks me. I can’t let him worry, no matter how embarrassing this is going to be.
And make no mistake. It’s gonna be awkward.
Leaning over, I take a deep breath and look down. He’s standing just below the loft, his face turned toward the open barn doors.
“Noah . . . I’m up here.”
He freezes, spins around, and looks up.
“Amber?”
“Umm . . . hi.”
“What are you doing up there?”
I hold up the bottle of strawberry wine and tell him the truth.
“Reminiscing.”
Noah’s shoulders sag, and he bows his head. I hold my breath while he looks out at the storm. Then, he lifts his eyes to meet mine once again.
“Want some company?”

EXCERPT

Aubrey got the impression they were no longer talking about painting. “You must be a renegade, Cash Dalton.”
He held her gaze, his eyes so blue, they reminded her of Mill Lake in summertime. “Maybe, how ’bout you?” And then his eyes slid over her in a way that wasn’t altogether respectable.
“Me? Uh…I’m pretty conventional.”
“There’s nothing about you a man would call conventional.” He stepped in front of her and flicked a piece of tape off her shirt.
She lifted her face to his, hoping she wasn’t misreading what was going on here. “Should I take that as a compliment?” Are you making a move on me?
“Damn straight it’s a compliment.” His lips twitched and he tilted his head down close enough that she felt his warm breath on her cheeks. “You know, I nearly kissed you the other day? How weird would it be if I kissed you now?”
She chewed her bottom lip. “Probably pretty weird.” But she didn’t move away.
His lips hovered barely an inch from her mouth. “Should we try it? What’s the worst that can happen?”
It was just a kiss, she argued with herself, trying to dismiss all the reasons it was insane, starting with the fact that she’d just broken her engagement to another man. Her head told her to back away, but her mouth said, “I don’t see how it could hurt.”
And then, just like that, he covered her mouth with his, tasting her lips until the kiss grew deeper…

EXCERPT

Nate spotted a couple he knew stepping out of the dance hall for some fresh air and he took Keely’s hand to avoid having to talk to anyone else. He wanted her all to himself a little while longer. “Want to walk down by the creek?”
“Sure.” Nodding, she followed him out of the back of the parking lot toward the long slope that led to the water.
The path was dark away from the white lights so Nate took his time picking their way down the hill.
“And to be clear, I am grateful for the chances I’ve had to show what I can do this summer. I just resent getting hurt when it finally felt like I might be making an impression.” Stepping around a sharp-edged rock, he reached back to make sure Keely navigated it too. “But I didn’t ask you out to dinner so I could grouse about what’s going on with me.”
“You didn’t?” He could hear the smile in her voice even though he couldn’t see her expression anymore as the darkness expanded around them.
“Definitely not.” He tugged her toward a clearing between the tree branches where a patch of moonlight shone on the creek bank.
Some summers the water dried up completely, but it still ran now, making a soft gurgle as it spilled over a span of muddy sticks and leaves.
“Well if you’re trying to glean tips on tomato planting, you’ve come to the wrong place because I know exactly nothing about growing vegetables.” She joined him on the soft earth above the creek, her sandals glimmering in the pale glow of the moon.
“Somehow I doubt that.” He remembered that she had a vegetable garden outside the farmhouse kitchen when they were still in high school, a task that had made her seem light years older than him at the time. But no doubt she’d only done it to ensure she and Alexis got fed on the days her father was too compromised to work or shop. “But I wasn’t expecting you to be my agricultural resource either.”
He still held her hand from when he’d helped her down the bank. He folded it in his now and felt his pulse quicken from being next to her. Alone. The perfect distraction from his concerns about the future, a chance to resolve their past.
“No?” She peered at him sideways, her shoulder just an inch or two from his while the frogs and crickets made their own night music.
Turning, he faced her. Above them, the sounds of a well-loved bluegrass song made the crowd shout in appreciation. His eyes had adjusted enough to the dim light that he could see Keely now, her dark eyes searching his.
Her lips temptingly close.
“No.” He cupped her chin in his good hand, savoring the softness of her skin. The light floral scent of her hair. “I asked you here because I can’t get that kiss out of my mind.”
Breath catching, her lashes fluttered. “Neither can I,” she admitted, her voice a whisper of sound that still managed to reverberate through him as if she’d shouted.
He swiped his thumb back and forth along her cheek, then trailed it down to the fullness of her lower lip, wanting her so much he ached.
Because he remembered how good it could be between them? Or because that kiss had felt like a new beginning? A first time all over again?
He shut down his thoughts and let himself feel, slanting his lips over hers to take a slow, thorough taste. The sweetness hit his veins harder than any whiskey shot, firing through his nerve endings and sizzling over his skin.
Sensation rocked him. He deepened the kiss, wrapping his arm around her to pull her fully against him. The feel of her breasts through the gauzy top would be enough to rattle any man’s thinking, and he had to suppress a growl of primal hunger that he had no business feeling during a simple kiss.
But damn.
He could lose himself here, in this woman. In this hot night and hotter kiss. Just for one more minute, he let the tantalizing feel of her narrow hips in a frayed denim skirt wreak havoc on him, ratcheting up the temperature between them to something that would singe the eyelashes if they didn’t break apart soon.
Pulling back, he broke the kiss abruptly, ripping away like a bandage since he couldn’t have worked up the resolve to part from her otherwise. Now, breathing in gulps of the humid night air, he clenched and unclenched the fingers of his good hand where he’d wound up clutching the back of her blouse. Realizing it, he let go completely, willing the hunger for her back into submission.
Barely.
“This is crazy,” she whispered, but she sounded perplexed by it more than upset.
Thank goodness.
He didn’t know what he would have done if he was alone in this firestorm of sensations.
“Maybe. Maybe not.” He stepped back an inch and blinked to clear his vision of her blond waves turned white in the moonlight.
Between the tousled curls and pale, flawless skin surrounded by the dark leaves and twisting branches of old live oaks, she looked like a storybook princess.
“It makes no sense.” She shook her head slowly as she tipped a shoulder against the rough bark of the tree closest to her. “We’ve done this before, and the aftermath was too painful for us to make the same mistakes.”
“Who says we would be? Making the same mistakes, that is?” He reached overhead to rest his splint on a low-hanging branch. “Last time, it all fell apart because I got drafted a year earlier than we thought it would happen.”
She wrapped her arms around herself as she shuffled a foot around a tree root. “No, it fell apart when you broke your promise to graduate college first.”
He frowned, wondering how she could see it that way. Even five years later. “You know that getting drafted is like getting called up—I have no control over when those things happen,” he reminded her. “I had to be ready to go when the opportunity came.”
And so did she, if she wanted to go with him. But she’d been adamant about breaking things off instead of trying to make it work while living apart for that last year when her sister was still in school.
At the top of the hill, the band finished another song and the crowd whistled and applauded. But down here by the water, the sound of the crickets and katydids was louder, wrapping him and Keely in a world of their own. A breeze rustled the leaves.
“And you were.” Her tone gentled, her arms relaxing at her sides. “You were ready then, and you’ll be prepared to go again when your hand is recovered. Maybe this crazy thing happening between us is just a delayed goodbye. We were both so upset five years ago that things ended too abruptly. We didn’t get closure.”
“It doesn’t feel like goodbye to me.”

Read Kay’s Review: About Last Night

He lowered his eyes, suddenly aware he was half-drunk and mostly naked at ten thirty in the morning. “Maybe I could take you to dinner.”
She snorted. “Don’t do me any favors. Let’s just go back to the way things were and pretend we don’t know each other.”
He looked back up. Was she serious? Last night was the best sex he’d had in ages. She’d been all over him like an animal; he could barely keep up. Maybe he’d failed to impress her. She was a little older than him. Maybe she had higher expectations than the college girls he usual landed in bed with. Still, he wasn’t one to beg. Not much, anyway. “Come on, Tess, what did I do wrong?”
“Nothing. You did nothing wrong. I’m just…just embarrassed and ashamed, and I want you out of my sight so I can pretend like it didn’t happen.”
With a sigh, he stepped backward toward the door. “Tell you what. I’m gonna get sober, get dressed, and then ask you out proper-like, okay?”
“What is this?” she asked. “You feel sorry for me or something?”
“No, not at all. It’s just—”
“I don’t need you to fix this. Last night wasn’t your fault. You were just behaving according to your nature. I’m the one who did something stupid.”
His confusion suddenly took a back seat to anger. “You keep talking about me like I’m too dumb to understand what you’re saying. I got feelings, too, you know.”
She actually snorted before turning back to her coffee pot to fill the mug she’d been holding. “Sure you do, cowboy. You and your feelings need to get the hell out of my house.”
“You know, some women are actually happy after a night with me.”
“Well, then, maybe your time would be better spent finding one of them.”
Fine. What was the point arguing with her when she was so all-fired determined to dislike him? “Maybe I will. I’ve got plenty of options. Plenty.”
“I’m duly impressed,” she said blandly.
“You should be. I’m talking tall, stacked, gorgeous young women.”
She slammed her mug on the counter, coffee splashing out, and spun to face him, this time with tears welling in her eyes. “Then go! I cannot imagine why you’re standing here bothering me when you clearly have better things on the horizon. Just go!”
“Fine! I’m going. And hey, keep that damn dog of yours on your side of the yard.”
“Leave Clark out of it. He never did anything to you.”
Cooper slammed the door behind him. He’d been living in companionable silence next door to that woman for nine months, now. They didn’t speak much, but sometimes he’d mow her lawn for her, or she’d pick up his mail for him and set it inside his screen door. It had been nice. Polite. But now, well, she could mow her own lawn and see how she liked dodging the piles of crap Clark left all over.
He beelined for his fridge and grabbed another beer. So what if she thought he was a slob? So what if she thought he was the male version of a slut? So what if she was maybe a little bit right?
He took his beer to his room, and before he fully realized what he was doing, he started unstacking the boxes in the corner until he came to the one marked, keepsakes written in his mother-in-law’s handwriting. He ripped the tape off and opened the box. He set his beer on the floor and began digging through the contents, a mishmash of items from jewelry to letters to photos. And then he pulled out a framed photo. He collapsed against the wall and held it in one hand while he reclaimed his beer.
Kirsten had been his first everything. First kiss, first partner, first love. In the photo, she was smiling, several months pregnant. She was staring up at a handsome young man who had never slept with anyone but her, and who never got drunk to numb his feelings, and who couldn’t wait to take on the responsibilities of fatherhood—a young man who was gainfully employed and took pride in his work. A young man Cooper never saw anymore when he looked in the mirror. No, what he saw in the mirror was exactly what Tess saw…a bum. A young, irresponsible, drunken bum.
The photo was beginning to blur as Cooper’s eyes stung with unshed tears. “If I knew how to get back to that I would,” he murmured.
He kissed the photo, crawled into bed, and fell asleep with the empty bottle in one hand and the photo in the other.

Do we have what it takes to make it through one more season? Or will this be the end of our dreams? And our marriage?

EXCERPT

“I won, you realize that, right?”
“Yes, cocky one, I do. What’s your point?” she retorts, clearly not realizing where I’m going with this.
“I won, therefore you arrived last…”
Realization flashes across her features and she looks up at me, where I’m still perched atop Thor, with her hand providing shade over her eyes and her lips slightly parted. “You can’t be serious. Right now?”
“Mhmm, right now.” I nod my head and fold my hands over the horn of Thor’s saddle. “I need to see you gloriously naked and getting into the water.”
“You really are serious.” She shakes her head and starts to pull her hair back. “You can tell me you’re joking anytime.”
“Allie, I’m serious as a heart attack. You agreed, last one here is the first to skinny-dip. And I want to watch every second of you doing exactly that.”
“My God, you are so full of yourself. I suppose you’re going to stay there on top of Thor, like you’re the ruler of the lands?”
My only answer is to smile at her.
“Impossible. You’re impossible.” She pulls the band off her wrist and secures her hair into a messy pile above her head then she works her boots off with a huff. “How am I supposed to dry off?”
“I brought two blankets, we can share one so you can use the other to dry yourself.”
“And what are you going to—you know what—never mind.” She steps up in front of Thor and slides her hand over his face. “You’re a traitor, Thor. You should’ve lost for me.”
She makes me laugh loudly. “He knows whose horse he is. Now, quit stalling”

AUTHOR BIO

I was born and raised about twenty minutes north of Denver, Colorado where school and soccer were always my primary focus growing up. Though, I read and wrote as often as humanly possible, too. I’ve always loved doing both, and my love for words has only grown since my childhood.

I stayed local for college and majored in Biology, with every intention of going to medical school. That never panned out. I realized right before I took the MCAT that what I wanted most out of life was to have a family of my own one day, and to be able to write a book. It was then that I decided that being a doctor wouldn’t have left much time to accomplish either of those things.

Since then, I’ve done child care, and tried to figure out where to go next, while also finally working on my own stories that I can share with the world.

And I hope that the amazing people that give me a chance fall as in love with my characters as I have.

Review – Hold on Tight by Anjelica Grace

Hold on Tight; Cowboys and Angels #1 (Series)
by Anjelica Grace (Author)

This review is from: May 20, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥🔥

Hold on Tight is a story that reflects life’s ups and downs, a family that goes through good times and the worst of times, displaying what marriage means after you say “I do” and the story really begins.

Life isn’t all sunshine and roses. It’s hard work, compromise, tears and heartbreak, but it’s also love and partnership, knowing you have someone to confide in and laugh with at the end of the day.

Hold on Tight is the story of Chase and Allie deep in marriage, already with two children and on track with successful careers, but at this point Chase is on the road more than he’s home. He’s chasing his dream to be the world’s best bull rider and that’s only done from the back of a bull riding the circuit. That means Allie is home raising their two daughters basically alone. He loves chasing his dream, but also feels guilty for being gone. He clearly loves his family which makes him very likeable.

To add to the aloneness and crazytime schedule on the homefront, Allie feels like a failure when it comes to getting pregnant with their third child, which isn’t exactly her fault considering her husband is gone more than he’s home, but the feelings of guilt still don’t help. She wants her husband home just as much as her daughters do, but how can you ask the man you love to give up on his dreams? Allie doesn’t want to voice how much she wants Chase home because she’d never stop him from doing what he loves, but watching her children miss him on a daily basis is a heartache that runs deep.

At the end of the day, even when two souls want to have different goals, and especially when times get tough, they still care deeply about their family and about each other. Chase and Allie have a deep relationship that tests their marriage constantly, actually, that is what marriage is, like I said, it’s not all sunshine and roses, but even when you are mad or angry and may not like your family at the end of the day you still love your family no matter what.

There are so many factors that play into this story, I connected with it both as a mother and a wife. As much as I love reading characters falling in love, this was a refreshing change to feel connected to someone else who also shares my frustrations in raising a family and dealing with an absent husband.

Also, I read the prequel novella, More Than Winning, before reading Hold On Tight. It gave me a quick insight into Chase and Allie’s relationship which was nice, it’s a quick read, but it isn’t necessary to read before reading the full novel.

Read the review below and decide if you want to read it as well.

More Than Winning; Cowboys and Angels #0.5
by Anjelica Grace (Author)

A prequel novella to Hold on Tight, but can be read as a standalone if you are looking for a fast read.

Chase is home for not only for the holidays, but he just completed the rodeo circuit. He didn’t finish where he was hoping, putting a damper on his mood and the plans he had to move forward in having more children.
That was the deal…place 1st and have another baby.
To say he’s bummed is correct.

Allie already has her hands full raising their two daughters and she misses her husband when he’s gone. She loves the holidays more than any time of year, even if it brings up the memories of losing her parents. The thought of having another child hasn’t even crossed her mind. Is she really ready? Chase is gone so much. Can they just focus on the holidays.

This novella is sweet, all about family, and will give you a taste of Chase and Allie’s story.

Title: Big Sky
Author: Dani Wyatt
Genre: Cowboy Insta-Love Standalone Novella
Release Date: May 15, 2019

BLURB

When my feet hit the dirt at the Big Sky Dude Ranch, I have a pretty good idea what to expect.  What happens next nearly shakes me out of my brand-new cowboy boots.  See, I’m here to write a travel article, but in one instant my interest in saddles, horses, and the Montana sky evaporate.  All I see are blue eyes, chiseled cheekbones, and a black cowboy hat.

What I find out, is the quiet cowboy who owns this land is the measure of alpha.  Quiet. Controlled.  He’s older but has a body carved from fresh air and decades of hard work.

I do what I can to maintain my professionalism.  After all, for two days he’s barely looked my way.  And yet, he’s ruined every pair of panties I brought.

One slip and everything changes. Garrett West shows me what’s underneath that calm cowboy exterior.  And, let me tell you, it’s big.

Except, we are from different worlds.  Different decades.  And some differences may be impossible to overcome.

Author’s Note:  Saddle up for a ride that will leave you weak in the knees.  This May-December pair do their best to maintain some distance, but once they are forced to touch, the sky opens and worlds collide in the hottest sort of way.  Always safe, no cheating, and love at the speed of light.

AUTHOR BIO

Dani Wyatt used to feel bad about having such dirty thoughts. Luckily, one day she decided to start writing them down. Her ultra-obsessed, alpha heros have a wicked possessive streak and an insatiable libido. Her heroines are intelligent, quirky and worry about having too much muffin top. So, if you like your insta-love over the top, super-hot, with a little more plot and always a happily ever after you’re in the right place.

She’s fighting middle age like a warrior and lives an average life battling gravity. When she’s not writing she is probably laughing about some irony (like A-1 Steak Sauce is vegan), reading, riding her horse, or looking cross-eyed at some piece of technology sent to ruin her day

Review – About Last Night by Carter Ashby

About Last Night; The Kentucky Cowboys Trilogy #1 (Series)
by Carter Ashby (Author)

This review is from: May 13, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥

A slow burning romance that brings a widower and a divorcée together in a mix that sheds new light on sharing grief and growing together through it.

Loss is loss, but when one spouse loses his permanently his spouse is forever placed on a pedestal, but when the other loses a spouse through divorce by unsavory means you tend to place that ex-spouse in the gutter. Can you still build a relationship through a shared concept of loss?

Cooper Dean is a man still grieving his dead wife, Kirsten, while still struggling how to be a single father of two young children. How do you move forward when you’ve lost everything? Cooper’s made mistakes, he’s made a lot of them, but he’s trying to move forward and make amends, mostly because he wants to be a better man for Tessa. He’s finally met someone since he lost Kirsten that makes him want to pull his head out of his a** and finally get his life together. The tough part is he’s having a hard time moving on from the memories of his dead wife. How can he possibly have a future with Tessa when he can’t seem to move out of the past?

Tessa has been hurt by her cheating ex, but she’s finally ready to move on. It wasn’t exactly the smartest thing to jump into the arms of her younger neighbor, Cooper, but she was a little tipsy the night it happened. Since then he seems to have set his sights on her and hasn’t let up. Her past hurts and his past manwhorish ways don’t exactly instill confidence in building a future with Cooper, but his relentless pursuit makes it difficult to say no. However, when his past continues to haunt him she may not have a choice in the matter of having anything more than just a few nights to remember.

How do two people come to grips with their different loses when trying to move forward in a new relationship? A new relationship is difficult enough but trying to understand where each is mentally coming from, really understanding each other’s loss, just adds to that budding relationship while navigating through new feelings.

About Last Night is a really good story about overcoming grief and loss.
