New Release – Desire at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber

This second chance small-town romance hits all the feels!
Desire at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber is available now
Universal — getbook.at/DesireatRR

Rex Roosevelt doesn’t believe in love.

He believes in women, in sex, and in avoiding any and all types of responsibility.

What he doesn’t believe in is playing the white knight by rescuing women . . . even though he’s been making a habit of doing just that over the last few months. Being the white knight is more in his twin’s wheelhouse. Justin spent a lifetime rescuing women from Rex’s ill-deeds before swooping in to save the day with the only woman Rex had ever felt the slightest bit of connection to.

Of course, that connection had made him run and he’d blown his chance with Kelly Hamilton.

Which was just as well. Rex was cold. He didn’t feel like normal men. He shut down and selfish and—

She was better off.

But lately, Rex had begun to feel. First, he’d been unable to steal his heart against the pleas of a gorgeous Italian woman and next . . .

Tilly.

She’d needed rescuing and even though Rex didn’t know the first damned thing about being a white knight, he’d helped her.

And then?

Well, she made him feel something he’d never thought his cold, dead heart would ever feel again.

Love.

I’ve been looking forward to Rex’s story for multiple books. A reformed badboy is one of my favorite tropes. There are always two sides to every tale and I was anxious to hear Rex Roosevelt’s, resident bad guy, basically the complete opposite to his twin brother, Justin.

Rex definitely did break my heart. He always felt like an outsider, someone who never measured up. I suppose when you already have the carbon copy of yourself who is perfect, why try to measure up? The only way Rex could garner attention was with the wrong kind. Here we are several years later and Rex finds himself at a crossroads of wanting to change, but how exactly does he do that?

Meet Tilly, a damsel in distress over and over and over and Rex who continually comes to her rescue. They both can’t seem to stay away from one another, there is this magnetic pull, but more than that an underlying understanding between the two of them. They have both suffered from the same situations, being an outsider looking in on life.

I was a tad sad that Justin didn’t stand up for his brother more, but given Rex’s history I can certainly understand it. For all of my expectations, which were totally my own, I was expecting more (more what? I can’t place my finger on it), but this was still a very touching story between two broken people that I loved watching grow and love one another.

Release Boost – Breakaway by Elise Faber

It was hate at first sight…
Breakaway by Elise Faber is available now!

It was hate at first sight.

Just not for Blue. He’d loved what he’d seen. Tall and thin with long blond hair and gorgeous blue eyes, Anna Hayes was absolutely beautiful.

She also wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.

As a professional hockey player, that was a rare thing for Blue Anderson. He was young, rich, good looking, and in the best shape of his life. He wouldn’t say he had to beat women off with a stick, but . . . maybe he had to brush them off with a broom. Still, bad puns aside, the truth was Blue didn’t have any trouble finding someone—or someones—to share his bed.

Except Anna.

Never beautiful Anna with the razor-sharp wit and seriously dirty mouth.

Despite his appreciation for her model good looks, Blue knew when to stay away. And his plan was to remain far far away from the woman who never failed to roast him within an inch of his life.

He wanted someone nice, not a woman who’d barbecue his balls off.

But then Blue did something stupid—something that felt incredible, but was also incredibly stupid.

He kissed prickly, gorgeous Anna Hayes.

And every one of his carefully laid plans went right out the window.

Review – Breakaway by Elise Faber

Breakaway (Gold Hockey Book 5) by [Faber, Elise]

Breakaway; Gold Hockey #5 (Series)
by Elise Faber (Author)

This review is from: September 8, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥

A traditional enemies-to-lovers sports romance. This is the fifth book in the series, but can be read as a complete standalone.

While Breakaway got off to a sizzling start, Blue and Anna quickly put their relationship in the penalty box. While they skated around their scorching chemistry. Their past loathing of one another made them sort out their next play before jumping back into the game.

Okay, I may have run out of hockey puns for the moment…maybe.

Seriously though…As Blue and Anna learn how to become friends, after they had one night of seriously hot “what have we done” steamy good times. Their attraction to one another never wains, it’s more of a let’s take a moment and decide if we actually like each other since I was pretty sure I wanted to junk punch you yesterday instead of this was amazing and now I want to junk ride you for the rest of my life.

Anna has been around the hockey team for awhile and knows Blue, but doesn’t really know him on a personal level and the same can be reversed about Blue knowing surface level knowledge of Anna. As they get to know one another they really do decide if there is actually something more than just a night of burning chemistry. Is Blue a player? Is Anna an ice queen? Will they ever let their guards down to reveal more?

This is the first book I’ve read in this series, however not the first book I’ve read by Elise Faber. She did a great job of  catching up on any characters that were pivotal throughout the story as it progressed.

Release Boost – Regret at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber

This time there won’t be any regrets…
Regret at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber is now available!
Universal — mybook.to/RaRR

Henry Miller was nobody.

Not any longer.

He used to be an up and coming chef in New York City, training under one of the most famous celebrity chefs in the world. But that had been five years before.

When he’d been itching to leave the small-town life of Darlington, Utah behind and become rich and powerful and famous. He’d been on his way too—had the fancy apartment, the great job, the gorgeous fiancé.

Isabella had been generous, sweet, and beautiful inside and out . . . or so he’d thought. Because the moment he’d taken leave from his job to come home and care for his father, the moment he’d slipped free of the outer edges of celebrity by returning to Utah to help his mother run the diner, Bella had dumped him.

Without a word and definitely without any explanation, Bella had disappeared from his life faster than a Michelin star from a restaurant that had lost his shine.

And he was fine with that. He’d moved on, rebuilt a life in Darlington and found, if not fulfillment, then at least peace in cooking at his father’s old diner.

Until Isabella showed up in town with a new fiancé in tow.

Until Bella wanted him to cook the food for her wedding at Roosevelt Ranch.

Until . . . he found out why she had left.

Suddenly, the peaceful but boring life Henry had built for himself was chaotic and frightening and it potentially, maybe . . . possibly might be punctuated with a happy ending.

About the Author:

Aside from writing romance, Elise’s passions are chocolate, Star Wars, and hockey (the order depending on the day and how well her team — the Sharks! — are playing). She and her husband also play as much hockey as they can squeeze into their schedules, so much so that their typical date night is spent on the ice. Review – Regret at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber

Regret at Roosevelt Ranch; Roosevelt Ranch #4 (Series)
by Elise Faber (Author)

This review is from: July 28, 2019 By Kay Daniels
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥

This is the second book I’ve read of Roosevelt Ranch (sadly I still haven’t had time to catch up with the first two books, they are still sitting in my TBR pile) and I’m still loving the small, quaint town and people that Faber writes about. This time we visit the local diner, where aside from the actual Ranch, a lot of the action in Darlington, Utah transpires at. I love that we finally get a glimpse into the man who has had a hand in helping so many others, Henry Miller.

Henry is at times, gruff, but also a loveable teddy bear. We have always gotten a sense that he has been wounded, but we never knew by whom. We finally meet the woman that put a thorn in Henry’s paw, Isabella. She doesn’t show up in town alone though. Her fiancé appears, even though Bella claims to no longer be engaged. Sergio is slime personified. This creates a whole new emotional level of chaos in Henry’s life. Is he ready to jump back out of the pan into the fire again? With the town at his back, Henry is ready for anything, but the bigger question is, is Bella ready for Darlington?

If you haven’t read any of the Roosevelt Ranch books yet, the great thing is you can pick them up at any point and jump right in. They are a quick, easy read that will always leave you with a good feeling after you finish them.

Bec Darden was a high-powered attorney who had spent her entire adult life building a fearsome reputation both in the courtroom and the boardroom.

But once upon a time, she was also a naïve and romantic—aka idiotic—soul who’d married her college sweetheart on a whim just before graduating. She and Luke were young and in love and—

No surprise, her marriage had been short-lived.

Explosive. Miserable. And incredibly, incredibly short-lived.

But now Luke Pearson was back in her life and with the worst possible news. Her marriage, the one she’d almost immediately regretted, and the subsequent divorce she’d paid through the teeth for by working insane hours and basically not sleeping for several years hadn’t happened.

As in she was still freaking married.

Luke had been sexy in high school, gorgeous in college, but he was even hotter as a grown man and his reappearance in her life hadn’t done anything to dampen the attraction she felt for him.

But Bec had already learned that sex wasn’t everything. One broken heart was enough, and she wasn’t in the market to give Luke another chance at shattering her all over again. He needed to sign the divorce papers she drafted and leave her to her life.

Except . . . what did they say about best laid plans?

Because Luke wouldn’t sign.

Bad Divorce; Billionaire’s Club #5 (Series)

A fun, no drama, second-chance contemporary romance that will make you feel all swoony. I really enjoy Elise Faber’s writing and while this was the first book I read in this particular series, I had no trouble jumping into the fifth book in it, so it can be read as a complete standalone.

Bad Divorce was such a delightful, easy read, once I picked it up I didn’t set it back down again until I was finished. Bec and Luke were destined to be together, especially since their divorce paperwork burned up leaving them unknowingly married for a decade. Once Luke becomes aware of the error, he sees it as a sign and seeks out Bec ready to win back the woman that he never should have let go in the first place.

I love the comradery of all the girls that Bec has with her girlfriends, in this day and age, women need that band of sisterhood and I love when we show positive support of each other. On another positive note, I love how the characters talk about their growth over the decade they were apart. Talking about where they made mistakes and learning from them is a communication breakdown we lack in everyday life, so I LOVED reading this so much.

Great book! Easy read! Fun and flirty!

It began with a collision.

Not in the sense of souls colliding or even stars aligning, but in a real-life, totally her fault, bumpers-crunching, frames-bending, airbags-deploying crash.

Haley. Oh Haley.

Why was she such a mess?

And why did she have to be such a mess when it involved really expensive cars and really handsome men? She was an emergency room nurse. She was supposed to have it all together, to be cool under pressure, to be–

Not turned into a complete puddle of mush when it came to the man whose car she’d crunched.

But Sam was so . . . so nice and sweet and gorgeous and he made Haley’s brain just completely poof out of her skull. But Sam was also her past.

Or rather, her sister’s past.

She couldn’t be infatuated with the man who’d broken her sister’s heart. She couldn’t want him. It didn’t matter that a decade had passed. Plus, Sam had never noticed her before. Haley was the littlesister, the annoying tagalong. Sam wasn’t attracted to her and he neverwould be.

But what if that colliding of bumpers had finally knocked some sense into him?

What if he decided Haley wasn’t the annoying little sister anymore? And what if she gave into the temptation of all her long held fantasies?

Worse, what was Haley going to do if her sister found out?

About the Author:

Aside from writing romance, Elise’s passions are chocolate, Star Wars, and hockey (the order depending on the day and how well her team — the Sharks! — are playing). She and her husband also play as much hockey as they can squeeze into their schedules, so much so that their typical date night is spent on the ice. Elise is the mom to two exuberant boys and is thoroughly addicted to Dancing With the Stars.

Review – Collision at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber

Collision at Roosevelt Ranch; Roosevelt Ranch #3 (Series)
by Elise Faber (Author)

This review is from: April 28, 2019 By Kay Daniels (Kindle Edition-Goodreads)
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level:🔥🔥🔥

There is something about a small town romance that I love so much and Collision offered up all the small town feels.

This is the first book I’ve read by Elise Faber, which means this is also the first book in the Roosevelt Ranch series I’ve read as well. I had no problem reading this as a standalone, but I also look forward to reading more from Elise and meeting more characters from this series.

Haley thought she was going to die the night a deer jumped in front of her car. The SUV following behind her didn’t have quite enough time to stop before slamming into her car, but given the remote location of her house it was lucky for Haley that Sam was there to call in help. Or perhaps unlucky given that it was Sam that collided with her car?

Hum…

Haley definately considers it unlucky when it is Sam who peers into her drivers side window after being struck. She would have prefered death by deer than having her high school crush see her wounded along the side of the road.

Sam feels awful for causing the wreck. Technically it was a deer, but Haley has a broken ankle, a concussion, and she lives alone. Not the best case to take care of oneself. He refuses to leave until she’s better, no matter how stubborn she’s being in taking his help.

He may never have noticed her when she was a tag-a-long years ago, but he can’t help but notice her now that she’s all grown up. He’s only there to help her get back on her feet, but something else is pulling at him to make him stay.

Can the past, living in a small town, ever be erased? Could Haley and Sam ever start something new?
