Cocky Captain is a perfect addition to the Cocky Hero world. The hero has the greatest overconfident cheesy lines, that I absolutely loved, while the story was also steamy, steamy, steamy!! Cocky Brilliance!

Logan is the perfect cocky captain. He appears with complete swagger and a huge ego, but he’s also humbled by his co-pilot, Angel, who has a great flying record. He’s fumbling with his normal flirt because not only is Angel beautiful, but she’s a fantastic pilot. He’s looking forward to their downtime in the Cayman Islands getting to know her a little better.

Angel doesn’t mix work and pleasure. When Logan comes out of the gates with his charm and doesn’t stop, she eventually gives in and spends time with him while on the Islands. They do have three days to kill and they aren’t technically working. However, she knows it can’t be more than a fling because they could be scheduled to work together again and her rules are rules for a reason, she doesn’t allow distraction while flying, period.

For the first time ever, Logan wants more than a fling and he’s determined to make Angel see that they can be more. He is a man that doesn’t take no very easily, he comes from a family of nine so being quiet isn’t exactly in his nature, nor does giving up. He’s sweet, a center of attention (middle child too), and completely sexy. You are going to fall in love with this flyboy.

Cocky Captain references characters in Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, but you don’t have to have read it to enjoy this story. This is a complete standalone.

I turned wild eyes to Z.

Hisoka Tsukuda has to pick up his life, move away from his family, find a new job and place to live all due to a creepy ex-lover/Dom who turns stalker in the second book of this series. Getting Hisoka‘s new life on track, his new job, where he eats, shops, whom he meets takes up a large chunk of the story, which may seem irrelevant, but don’t let it fool you. Pay close attention because as you continue reading the other books you may remember clues from Hisoka’s new life and those clues may help you solve the case.

I love Ellie Masters’ contemporary novels. They are lush, steamy and just darn good.

I am a happily married mother of three (two boys and one girl). I live in a very small town in Alabama. Never lived anywhere else. I’ve been writing since my early twenties, but I couldn’t seem to finish a book. I started self-publishing with the encouragement from my mom. Without her encouragement, I don’t think I would’ve done it!

 

I get my inspiration from life experiences, movies, television, other authors, and music. Music is definitely a big influence on my writing. I can hear a song and it can inspire an entire book for me. I listen to it while I’m driving or before I start writing and it keeps me inspired. I like to put music in my books, even if it’s just one song the characters listen to or hear at some point. Sometimes music has gotten me through the really tough times in my life and that’s why it inspires me.

I like to write fast-paced, steamy romance reads. I like for my males to be alpha-males and my heroines to be strong, but both need to have one weakness- each other. I am an avid reader. I absolutely love romance books!

I am an author that doesn’t fit well into any category. The books I write have romance in them but they are not your typical read. Not all fairytales have a happy ending and in my books, it is always hard for the characters to stay together. They really have to work for it. The Starling has it all; intrigue, secrets, lies, sexual tension, international espionage, and stunning visual imagery like you wouldn’t believe. I was truly standing in Paris thanks to Ellie Masters gorgeous descriptions.

Vivianne Faulks is an art expert, particularly with Van Gogh paintings. She is known for being able to identify a fake vs. the original. Although she has a secret as to why she is so good that she has never shared with anyone.

Paul de Gaules has a reputation in the art world. A man who walks the line between legal and illegal art sales. As Vivianne is drawn more into his world she fears her own secret being uncovered while stumbling upon the very ones she’s supposed to be investigating.

The game they find themselves in is not the original one they signed up for and the ante is more than just a lost painting. Both have decisions to make that will put their lives in danger, but it’s hard to trust someone when there are so many secrets between them.

From the moment you pick up this book you will be captivated by peeling back the layers and discovering each characters secrets. For as each truth is revealed another omission of truth lies dormant. Will it ever be revealed? That is the exciting adventure you should definitely pick up and read to discover yourself.

“It’s beautiful here.” Abby fought against the urge to spin in a circle, arms stretched wide, taking in the scene.

Drake’s hard gaze locked on her face. “Beyond gorgeous.”

Her cheeks heated. He’d hadn’t been talking about the farm.

“Come.” He turned toward the barn.

She followed him in companionable silence broken only by the crunching of snow beneath their feet. At the barn door, he unlatched the massive doors, then put his back into sliding them on their rails until a narrow opening appeared. As she passed beside him, the heat of his breath seared her skin and made her shiver. Her breath fled as she pried her gaze from his eyes to take in the dimly lit interior of the barn.

Musk. A deep animal smell. The pungent aroma of dirt, hay, and what had to be llamas assaulted her nostrils. A low hum vibrated the air. Abby cast her gaze left and right until she realized the sound was coming from a pen to her left.

“What is that?” she asked.

Drake chuckled. “Llamas humming.”

“They hum?”

“Yes, and you should hear the males orgle.”

Had he made up that word?

“I hate to ask what an orgle is,” she said.

“Llamas hum when they’re happy. The males have a unique alarm call when they perceive danger, but when they breed, they orgle.”

“Orgle?”

“Yes, but it’s not breeding season, just the humming for right now.” His eyes crinkled at the corners. “I bet you’re dying to hear a llama orgle now aren’t you?”

He stepped close, towering over her, causing a tingle to spark in her chest and an ache to build lower down. Her entire body was painfully aware of his overwhelming presence. The timbre of his voice was both smooth and hypnotic, drugging even, because she found herself tipping back her head, her mind slipping, and her eyes closing as he leaned down.

His breath disturbed the air above her cheek, and she held still, paralyzed by what might happen next.

YOU WANT A SNEAK PEEK AT ” LEARNING TO BREATHE”??

The light streaming in from the hallway dimmed and a man’s chuckle drifted to her ears. It did strange things to her insides. Yummy things.

She spun around. “Derek!”

He spread his arms out, welcoming her into his embrace, and his expression was one of wonderment. “My God, you’re stunning.”

Heat filled her cheeks. She was hoping for a good but stunning would do. Then she smiled, shifting her eyes down and to the left. She couldn’t look at him and speak at the same time.

“You look pretty amazing too.” But she did peek, lifting her gaze up to take him in.

Decked out in a tuxedo, the immaculate suit barely contained his muscular frame. Crisp and pressed, the bow tie wrapped snuggly around his neck. He carried himself with ease, as if he’d been born in the elegant attire. Incredibly brilliant blue eyes flashed with mischief.

“You’re staring, Miss Levenson.”

And she was. She couldn’t help herself. He was a magnet, an irresistible force she couldn’t resist, but his words had her lowering her eyes again, as if she didn’t dare stare upon his brilliance.

“Don’t make fun of me,” she said.

He closed the distance, and placed one finger under her chin. Lifting, he forced her to meet his eyes. “I’m not laughing, my dear. I’m simply enjoying the fact I’m not the only one caught breathless. I’ve missed you.”

Derek placed his hands on her bare shoulders, steadying her in the too high heels. Two glasses of wine shouldn’t have her weaving on her feet. Or was that him making her weak in the knees?

He took her lips, smothering her in a kiss, taking her breath, and making it his. Her tiny gasp gave him the opening he needed to slip his tongue inside, and like any other invader, he plundered and ravaged, taking what he desired. She bent before him, conquered by his power and more than willing to sacrifice herself to his need.

Tracing the hardened muscle under his tuxedo became her sole purpose in life. As wonderfully intoxicating as the kiss was, it frightened her because of how uninhibited her response was. It didn’t make sense. While the rational side of her brain said slow down, her hand fluttered, and her fingers gripped the buttons of his shirt, pulling him closer rather than pushing him away.

This was what she wanted. Right? Unrestrained passion? But, she needed to play a little hard to get. Otherwise? How would he ever respect her?

Derek groaned, a deep throaty rumble of desire. The noise made her heart race, or maybe it was the kiss. His tongue darted around her mouth, teasing and tasting. He nibbled her lower lip, eliciting a moan from her, and sucked it into his mouth.

Wine had nothing to do with her knees giving way. Derek wrapped an arm around her waist and held her against him, making her feel safe. He didn’t even break the kiss, continuing the pillage of her mouth. Damn, he had this kissing thing down.

Learning to Breathe is book three in the overall arc of The Collective storyline, but this story begins before Unbroken, book one.

Learning to Breathe opens and Sally Levenson is standing before a dead body. Is this a typical occurrence for her? She’s the county coroner and you’ve met her before. As she’s examining the body you learn that this is the a dead body that popped up in Unbroken. The one that started the strange mystery as we met Sally for the first time in Ava’s diner. As Sally continues to exam the body and wonder at the mystery surrounding the victim’s death. Yes, she does think victim because she is marking it as non-accidental, in walks Blaze. The main character from book 2, Iron Claw MC. You also discover that the body lying on the table is Blaze’s ex-girlfriend, Ally. Aha, now the pieces of each book are beginning to solidify and link together as the story unfolds.

As Sally returns back to the examination you learn more about the doctor and the solitary life she has lead. You learn that she has been a widow for the past five years, but she is also in the beginning stages of a new relationship with a man named, Derek LeMark.

At this point the story progresses away from the murders and into Sally and Derek’s own storyline. A new world of mystery awaits Sally when she agrees to a surprise date night upon his boat…or did he forget to mention he owned a yacht. He talks about a D/s relationship and as Sally is jumping back into the dating world after losing her husband she is still trying to figure out where she fits into the dating game as a whole. A new world is opened up to her and much as Derek intrigue and fascinates her she isn’t sure that she is ready to dive in, but and even scarier thought is that she could miss out on something great by not diving in feet first.

After a glamours night spent in Derek’s arms before she can decide if she’s ready to delve in feet first she’s called back into work where another body awaits. The Collective is back and as we read in Unbroken, the bodies continue to pile up on the poor coroner.

Learning to Breathe is another great addition to the overall arc of the series. I can’t wait to read more and figure out the mystery.
