Blog Tour – Save One Thing by J. Wolf

Save One Thing by Julia Wolf is now live!

I have one simple rule: no boyfriends until graduation.

I’m too close to my goal of landing a full ride to college to get distracted now.

Besides, I blend in better at the skate park than I do in the hallowed halls of Savage Academy, boarding school for the rich and overprivileged, so staying away from guys hasn’t been a problem…

Until him.

Beckett Savage. Coldly handsome. Forever brooding. I thought he hated me. His attempt to get me expelled two years ago would leave that impression on anyone.

But lately, Beckett isn’t acting like he hates me.

He’s watching me with his icy blue eyes, showing up everywhere I go, and getting between me and any other guy who dares to look at me.

When he lets me see beneath his untouchable veneer, I’m shocked at what I find.

Suddenly, my one simple rule is becoming complicated.

Giving in to my feelings for Beckett Savage could either be the beginning of something great…or the end of everything I’ve worked for.

Review – Save One Thing by Julia Wolf

Save One Thing; Savage Academy #1
(#1 within a series)

Publication Date: May 11, 2023

Genre/Tropes: New Adult/Sports/Academy Romance

Author: Julia Wolf

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
What a beautiful and heartfelt book!! Julia Wolf has once again captivated me by her soul deep, intense, and all encompassing characters. I was completely blown away.

Who would have guessed that Julien’s little brother, Beckett Savage, would have stolen the number one spot that Julien currently held. However, it shouldn’t have been a total surprise because there is something about those brothers that hits me hard and just like his older brother, Beckett blew me out of the water. I couldn’t help falling for each and every moment he was on the page and of how hard he loved or of how deeply devoted he was to Luciana.

Luciana Ortega is the younger sister to Helen. This is Luciana’s senior year at Savage Academy and for some reason she seems to be running into Beckett everywhere she turns. Yes, she knows who he is, his brother is friends with her sister, but luckily she hasn’t run into him much in her prior years since she began attending there. Luciana doesn’t date and she especially doesn’t date rich, entitled guys. Beckett Savage screams all of that. However, Beckett seems to be everywhere she turns and it doesn’t take long for him to burrow under her skin and to find out just how long she’s been burrowed under his.

Save One Thing is deeply touching. A book I don’t get the pleasure of reading often. These two are closer in so many ways and I couldn’t stop turning the pages because I was so engrossed in their story. Their story was mesmerizing and honestly quite beautiful. Save One Thing is a story that is magnetizing and brilliantly written.

I can’t wait to return and see what couple could possibly be next. This new series is now wrapped around my heart and I’m sooooo ready to return!!

Blog Tour – Dear Grumpy Boss by Julia Wolf

Dear Grumpy Boss by Julia Wolf is now live!

I’ve spent the better part of the last few years successfully avoiding my brother’s best friend, Weston Aldrich.

As CEO of Andes, Inc, the infuriatingly handsome and incessantly grumpy Weston also happens to be my new boss.

It shouldn’t have been hard to continue avoiding him. After all, he’s on the executive floor and I’m one of many copywriters.

Weston has his own ideas about how things should go between us. He’s in my emails, leaving notes on my desk, and as if that’s not enough, he arranges for me to accompany him on a business trip.

That leads to stolen touches, frenzied kisses, and the undeniable need to work each other out of our systems.

That always works, right?

Except now that I know what it feels like to have Weston Aldrich appreciate every inch of my abundant curves, avoiding him is impossible.

But he’s my brother’s best friend.

And a workaholic.

We have to stop.

And we will. Soon.

Just…not yet.

Review – Dear Grumpy Boss by Julia Wolf

Dear Grumpy Boss; The Harder They Fall #1
(Standalone within a series)

Publication Date: March 9, 2023

Genre/Tropes: Workplace/Brother’s Best Book/Forced Proximity Romance

Author: Julia Wolf

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
There were so many feelings to feel while reading this book and I loved how Julia evoked them all.

Elise is coming out of a long time relationship where her self esteem is in tatters. Moving back home she secures a job in her brother’s best friends company, it’s a job that is well earned and one she’s qualified for, so I appreciated that even though her personal life was falling apart, she still earned the job on her own.

It doesn’t take long for Elise to get pulled into her boss’s orbit, even when that was never her intention. There is a strong feeling that Weston, the owner of the company, was highly anticipating her return to town and his orbit is all encompassing since he literally owns everything.

I loved the push and pull of their relationship. Elise may have grown up with Weston, but he wasn’t going to let his position as her boss sway her in any negative or positive way, nor was he going to allow his past as the older brother’s best friend affect her feelings going forward. He basically wanted a clean slate with her, but he also wasn’t sure how to do it. He knew he was a workaholic and he knew he was terrible at relationships, but he wanted her desperately and he wasn’t going to let his opportunity of having Elise home and close pass him by again. So what if he was a little grumpy, it turned out Elise knew how to handle his grumpy side. It was all kind of sweet.

I really enjoyed this story, except for perhaps the final turbulent moment. All I will say is this; Elise was a bit harsh and childish of the way she handled things. Yes, it was a given that Weston was a workaholic, but this particular moment was insanely different and given the circumstances he should have been allowed a pass. That’s all I’ll say since it all worked out in the end.

Blog Tour – Real Like Daydreams by J. Wolf

Real Like Daydreams by J. Wolf

RELEASES: October 27th

Seraphina…that’s a big name.

The first time I laid eyes on Julien Umbra, he made me cry.

That makes him sound mean, but grumpy would be more of an apt description. Besides, I always cry when I’m drunk.

Hate is a strong, strong word.

I’m back for another semester at Savage U, nursing a bruised heart and shattered ego. That’s what happens when your ex cheats and everyone knows.

Worse than that, the girl my ex told me not to worry about and then banged is vying for the one thing I want: drum captain of the marching band.

Pretend all you want to.

I have a chance to get what I want, there’s just one little thing I have to do: fake date the grumpy guy in the hoodie. The one who sits alone at the front of the class and growls at anyone who speaks to him.

But Julien doesn’t growl at me, and to my surprise, he agrees to be my fake boyfriend.

Breaking the already broken…

Julien is scarred in more ways than one, but he’s not as broken as he thinks he is. There’s something about him that draws me in.

I like him, and the longer we do this, it starts to feel like it’s not for show.

All of this is fleeting.

I have to remember this is fake.

When I get what I want, Julien and I will walk away from each other.

The song will end.

But what if all I want is Julien?

Review – Real Like Daydreams by J. Wolf

Real Like Daydreams (Savage U #4)

Real Like Daydreams; Savage U #4
(#4 within an interconnected series)

Publication Date: October 27, 2022

Genre/Tropes: New Adult/Hurt-Comfort/Fake Dating Romance

Author: J. Wolf

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
Wow! Wow! My heart is overflowing with so much WOW!!

While my heart crumbled numerous times for both Julien and Sera, it also overflowed with so much love for these two beautiful people. Each of them scarred in their own way, they truly bring out the best in each other, while healing one another in the way only love can do.

I saw so much of myself in Sera, aside from just the red hair, so I was rooting for her from the very beginning. Julien, with his beautiful soul, is the perfect fit for Sera, while in turn she is the perfect for him. While there are quite a few obstacles in their way before they can get to their HEA, their road mentions a lot of daydream moments, but they actually have a lot of nightmare realities to face which are heartbreaking to read. I won’t go into all of them because this book needs to be experienced and trust me, once you pick it up you won’t want to put it down. I’m still lost in their world and I don’t want to return anytime soon.

Real Like Daydreams is interconnected to the other books in Savage U and while reading the other books in this series would probably enhance your reading experience, especially when other characters drop in, it’s not necessary to thoroughly enjoy falling in love with Julien and Seraphina. Their story is like walking in a daydream, and perhaps because they handle real life problems together, which only made them stronger, I know I can’t stop thinking about them even days after finishing their book. This couple is truly special and will hold a special place in my heart.

It’s my junior year at Savage U and life is grand. Except for the fact that Lachlan Kelly lives right next door, he acts like he doesn’t know my name, and he barely acknowledges my existence.

I don’t get it. How can he so easily look away from me when he’s all I see?

The ice queen is melting…

A few angry frat boys and their arm candy make it their mission to ruin my semester and possibly my life. But I show those boys that messing with Elena Sanderson is a fatal mistake, and Lachlan surprisingly backs me up.

And when he finally gives me his attention, I greedily soak up everything he has to offer.

You’re arsenic-laced candy

Lachlan tells me I’m bad for him, but he can’t resist the pull between us anymore.

I don’t break things.

I know he’s not staying.

When he goes, he’ll leave me tangled up in memories.

I won’t play games.

His promises have a time limit, even though I’m beginning to wish they didn’t.

Even if it hurts…

Review – Sweet Like Poison by J. Wolf

Sweet Like Poison; Savage U #3
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: August 18, 2022

Genre/Tropes: New Adult Romance

Author: J. Wolf

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
I had a major girl crush on Helen and seriously didn’t think anyone could top it…Elena blew that crush away!! I LOVE when I get the opportunity to crawl inside the mind of a previous villain and truly get to see what makes them tick. Elena is fierce, brilliant, her own knight in shining armor, and I love how hard she loves those closest to her. I’m so happy she got her own story and Lachlan is the perfect man to stand by her side.

Up until the this point, Lachlan or Lock to his friends, has been a bit of a mystery. Not because he wasn’t in the previous books, but mainly because he is just this big guy who prefers silence over filling quiet with needless talking. I loved his intensity everytime he was in the room, but I also loved that we didn’t know much about his past or really where he always disappeared to. This layer of mystery only added to the storyline and Lachlan’s overall persona.

Elena and Lachlan, I wouldn’t call them enemies, but I also wouldn’t call them friends. They both congregate in the same circle of friends, which puts them together a lot, but really until the two end up spending more time together their junior year, which leads to more…alone activities….let’s just say before that you wouldn’t have seen them hanging out in the past.

Once they spend more time together, it becomes obvious that they are more alike than they ever realized, but are their futures really going to end up in the same spot? Does spending all this time together really mean anything in the long run, or is it just fun for the here and now?

There is huge growth and character development throughout this book. I can’t stop turning pages not only for characters falling in love, but for this very reason right here. When characters learn and become better people I fall in love with the story even harder. But let’s walk through just some of it because hellooooooo…Elena wasn’t the nicest person in the past. She is very aware of who she was, who she is, and who she wants to become. Lachlan is in the same boat, but his is much more subtle. He wasn’t the villain before, but his goodness is so good that being with someone like Elena, who can not only take care of herself, but can also take care of others, throws him off his game. Lachlan is a fixer by nature and when he can’t always fix her he is stumped. His personal growth just within his own wheelhouse is frustrating at times, but trying to fix a damsel that isn’t in distress is something he has to learn if he truly wants to be with his ice queen.

Sweet Like Poison is super hot, who knew that the quiet, giant Lock was so intense? It also deals with some darker content, but Elena isn’t a woman who goes away quietly. Just remember how she always stepped up for her roommates in the past, that girl is why I have a new serious crush to love and fawn over.

Great story, lots of passion, and a fantastic epilogue!!

Bright Like Midnight; Savage U #2
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: April 7, 2022

Genre/Tropes: Antihero/New Adult/Dark Romance

Author: Julia Wolf

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

The Savage U series keeps getting better and better!

Julia Wolf writes beautifully damaged characters and pulls out treasured moments that bring depth and emotions when you least expect it. I’m continually blown away by the vulnerability of the characters who believe they are unredeemable, characters like Amir Vasquez.

Amir believes he has nothing to give to a girl like Zadie Night. A girl filled with goodness and sunshine, but little does he know that Zadie is drawn to him for lots of reasons and he just hasn’t taken a look inside himself for a very long time to see anything but darkness.

Zadie was held captive by Amir one night months prior when her roommate, Helen owed Amir’s brother money. There was a lot of speculation on what exactly happened in that room, but Zadie, nor Amir would say a word. Now Zadie is looking for his help and it all comes back to what happened during that night.

These two begin as oil and water, but it doesn’t take long for Zadie’s sunshine to break through Amir’s cloud cover and once he gives in….ooooooohhhh, his possessiveness is raging hot!!!!

Everything about this story is glorious and perfectly put together. From the secondary characters, which after reading the mentions I loved even more, to the epilogue which gave me everything I needed for this couple.

Soft Like Thunder; Savage U #1
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: February 3, 2022

Genre/Tropes: New Adult Romance

Author: Julia Wolf

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
This new Savage U series is AMAZING, fantastic, and so friggin’ good!!!! Helen was everything I’d been waiting for and Theo was absolutely delicious.

Theo was unexpected in his own form of broken, but also the perfect knight in unshiny armor for bada$$ Helen. Their perfect storm of a little bit crazy fit perfectly together and I loved this story which was perfect for both of them from start to finish.

Helen is a character that I’ve grown to know through Julia’s Savage High books. She’s fierce, loyal, and doesn’t take crap from anyone. Growing up on the wrong side of town, scraping by, with a mother that gave up, Helen grew up at a young age and eventually took over care of her younger sister too. With her take charge attitude I was anxious to know what boy would be up to the challenge of being perfect for Helen. Interestingly enough it was a boy who shot through her sharp defenses, tore down her tall walls, and poked into her soft center. Helen is a beautiful creature whether she’s soft or hard and Theo was the boy who discovered all of her sides.

Theo is so beautifully broken in his own way. He seems like the perfect, beautiful rich boy, but there are deep, deep layers to his facade. Just like Helen wears her sharp, pointy layers as armor, Theo wears his twinkly eyes and sweet smile to hide things too. He’s under his father’s thumb, recently out from a long term relationship and trying to figure out his life after wrestling. Theo is going through the motions of school and a beautiful Tiger named Helen just might lead him on the right path, or she might lead him down the wrong one.

It takes a certain level of trust to let someone in and not let that trust go unwarranted. Secrets can be scattered and trust can be broken. It’s hard to gather those secrets once they’ve been let loose or glue up broken trust. You will always see the crack and the wind always carries words. Neither Theo or Helen trust easily, but together they are stronger than they are apart. That is if they really want to be together.

Soft Like Thunder is the perfect introduction to this new university world. It not only links the past high school characters for fan favorites, like me, but is a total standalone introducing new characters and a new world to fall in love with. Julia’s writing just continues to get better and better and this book is proof of that.

Burn It Down; The Savage Crew #3
(A standalone within a series)

Publication Date: July 29, 2021

Genre/Tropes: New Adult/Second Chance Romance

Author: Julia Wolf

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:

I I have been waiting and wanting Gabe’s story since book one, so Julia had a lot of expectations to fill up my heart and soul…Expextations met and I LOVED EVERY MOMENT!!

Gabe is known as the comic relief, the class clown, and definitely a player. Is it wrong to say I was super excited to finally find out why Gabe is the way he is. (rubbing my hands with super villain glee)

I was happy to find that Gabe is the same funny, sarcastic, over-the-top boy I’ve loved since book one. His charismatic charm wormed his way right into my heart from the very beginning and his loyalty to not only his friends, but those who became a part of that inner circle is what truly solidified my love for the boy. He’s pretty darn perfect, if only he could have been truthful and not let his pride get in the way, then playboy Gabe wouldn’t have hatched, but to everything there is a reason and it doesn’t take long into the book to get a small taste of what that reason entails.

Penelope is a casualty of Gabe’s Freshman year. Penelope has a ton of faith and trust in people, until she gets hurt, then it’s all bets off and she doesn’t allow for second chances, but I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me go back to Freshman year when it all began and Penelope was a wide eyed girl completely in love with a boy from the wrong side of town. She didn’t care where he lived or how much money his parents made, Penelope was just totally enamored of Gabe himself. We don’t find out why Gabe throws it all away until much later in the book, but breaking Penelope’s heart freshman year is the catalyst for the entire story going forward.

Julia is so good at weaving a story from this small thread and eventually displaying the entire blanket by story’s end. Each chapter gives a little more, sewing and knitting pieces, until each puzzle is put into place and that A-HA! moment finally connects.

As much as I wanted Penelope to forgive Gabe right out of the gate, there was a lot of ground work to cover and it’s great to see how obsessive Gabriel is in trying to win her back. There was always this feeling that he had ADD or compulsive issues in the other books, but to really see the man in action is completely endearing and honestly I’d love a little obsession from a man like Gabe any day.

Everyone of the main characters, from family to friends, is perfectly placed and written. Burn It Down is another great addition to this overall series and Gabe is still one of my favorite characters overall. I’ve loved to see this story arc grow with each book and I can hardly wait to see what’s coming up next.

Synopsis:

I’m the smart girl with my nose constantly in a book. The one with the level head who never breaks the rules…until I do.

And wouldn’t you know, the one person who knows about my case of temporary rebellion is the last one I’d ever want to find out.

Gabe Fuller might be Savage River High’s class clown, but as far as I’m concerned, he’s a villain in disguise. Once upon a time, I gave him my heart, but our ending was no fairytale.

As the keeper of my darkest secret, Gabe thinks he owns me. I’ll play along because I have no other choice, but I’ll never bow, and I definitely won’t fall…no matter how good his hands feel on my curves.

I’ve never fit in, but I have no desire to stand out either. I was perfectly fine hanging in the shadows, but my choice to remain anonymous is taken from me.

I’m thrust into the spotlight. His spotlight.

Asher Beck is a golden god at Savage River High. Football star, whip-smart, and popular, we don’t belong in the same hemisphere, let alone circle. But underneath that perfection is a darkness he only reveals to me.

I have no idea what I did to capture Asher’s attention, but he is relentless in his pursuit. The problem is, I can’t tell if he’s trying to break me or own me…and I don’t know which I want more.

Broken boy meets broken girl.

Author’s Note: Through the Ashes is a high school bully romance with mature themes and dubious situations some readers may find offensive. If heroes who are golden on the outside but dark as night on the inside aren’t your thing, this book isn’t for you!

Review:

I love, love, love when a series gets better and Julia Wolf far surpassed my expectations on this book!!

Asher and Bex were tortured and angsty and so, so broken…it is truly destiny that they would wind up together or would ultimately destroy one another. There was no in between. Their story is one that once you pick it up you won’t be able to put it back down, so buckle in and get ready for an emotional ride.

Through the Ashes wasn’t anything like I was expecting. All the twists and ups and downs of this story were heartbreaking. Bex and Asher were both broken souls who needed someone to care about them, but also so lost they didn’t know what they were searching for.

I don’t want to say too much because reading their truths at the exact right time is what made the story so enjoyable.

While this book is full of emotions, it is also steamy hot. This is a time in your life when discovering your tastes and preferences really come out with the right partner. These two use their emotional outlets for finding out what their boundaries are and YUM! Ash and Bex are just yummy. I’m going to leave it at that.

While this is book two in the Savage Crew series, it can be read as a complete standalone. Bex and Asher’s story is completely their own.
