Ridge, Maddox, Lev, and Riley pick right back up in this intense and very steamy second book. I couldn’t set the book down once I picked it up, loving every word in this fast moving story.

Lev was fascinating and everything I was hoping for in his original lack of empathetic character. His growth and change, that he attributed to Riley, was fascinating to read. Not only was he was brutal and callus, but he was exactly what Riley needed even when she didn’t understand why she needed it at first.

Riley already has a relationship going with Maddox, who is the perfect boyfriend in every way possible, but once Riley gets pulled into Lev’s orbit she soon realizes that she needs the dark edginess of Lev to talk to her dark side, to help expunge her demons. It doesn’t mean she likes Maddox any less, she still needs his light side, she’s just needs them both.

Then we have Ridge…the beautiful, crazy, and insanely obsessed Ridge and I love his deep intensity. He loves without limits and says exactly what’s on his mind. Yes, can be off putting, or a tad much as it freaks out Riley, but as she’s learning, his passion is also really great and she misses his presence when he’s not stalking her or even right by her side.

This book focuses a lot on the relationship between the three guys’ long standing friendship as they figure out how a love can work between them and Riley. The suspenseful, fast moving plot is still moving around all of this steaminess and it’s filled with suspense and heat and chemistry galore! I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book.

A year had passed since the last book and January has blossomed from the young naive girl she once was into a woman with an identity of her own. Working as a bartender in a stripclub that is owned by the Velvet House she feels more independent, is secure in her relationships with all four men, and is safe knowing she never has to see Mr. Parker ever again.

Or does she?

January’s stepmother, Corinne Whitehall, is everything that evil step-monsters embody. When that woman reappears a ripple effect begins, but truth be told, it just makes the story juicier and ripe with tension while everyone is left wondering what will happen next. Everyone knows that Corinne’s presence is never good news and all of January’s men will do anything to protect the woman they love.

This book is intensely hot, full of twists, that left me right on the edge of my seat. I still went back and forth on choosing my favorite guy, although I still love Doc’s crazy something fierce and Eli’s steadfast consistently is something to treasure as well. I’m not sure what that says about me and the two opposite extremes, but I love the other two trapped right in the middle as well. Hence, why choose is always a favorite of mine.

Lace Vengeance and the Snow White trilogy is an excellent addition to the Midnight Dynasty series along with the perfect steamy read for why choose fans.

It’s filled with mystery, darkness, and hot men with issues, check, check, and check please! Then add in an amazing girl who gave back as good as she got…I couldn’t stop turning the pages. I love a heroine that doesn’t lie down and take what’s dished out to her, withering away waiting to be rescued. So huge check to the yes!!

Stevie Heron is searching for clues…I won’t say exactly to what to give anything away, but it sets a target on her back when she does. This target is placed by three guys; Micah, Vince and Ashton. Three guys who all belong to The Brotherhood, a fraternity of sorts, but more than that, these three guys have a longer history of shared trauma and darkness that binds them closer than even college would.

Just a little overview of who these three boys are; They all have a little bit of psycho living under their facade, some more than the others. They all play hockey, but that part of their persona is all off book, however it helps in knowing they are big, fit and have a bit of rage to their personalities. These three are close and have been through a lot, but it comes out as the story progresses, keeping the mystery and allure to not only the book, but also to each guy, so I will keep that anything else about them close to my chest as well. Sorry, not sorry.

When Micah, Vince, and Ash meet and get closer to Stevie, darkness understands darkness and more than they ever would have guessed, things begin to change between them. Hate morphs into something that’s not hate and it throws all of them for a loop. Stevie is a girl that may fit into their world, but does she want to?

With so many twists and turns, dark moments and chemistry through the roof, this jump into a brand new world is intoxicating. Especially with the cliffhanger at the end…I can hardly wait for more!!

The culmination of this amazing and all consuming series was fantastic!! Everything I could have hoped for since I read the first page in book one until the perfect epilogue at the end. In one word…superb.

Kirill had everything all lined up, his house of cards was built to perfection until his world exploded and his wife is gone. Kirill losing Sasha…well, this man finally stumbled across his emotions. My heart clenched and wept over Kirill’s loss. His black pit of nothingness without her bled off the page…Rina never fails to hit home with those deep, hit you where they hurt feels. So when Sasha comes back…(I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that Sasha is alive, or there wouldn’t be much of a book) his life which was once lived in black in white now has color.

Kirill’s inner monologue through this entire book, made me chuckle. His inner caveman was so outrageous, so over the top, yes, even more than normal, it was funny. This man had lost his love and when she basically comes back to life there is nothing he won’t do to lose her again. His possession, his obsession, his very need to watch every breath she takes is a little funny when you get inside his head, but also romantic in a very obsessive way.

For Sasha, even though her relationship is also torn, but in an entirely different way, her emotions after her life literally explodes hit are just as hard. She now has her brother back, which is new, she’s struggling with Kirill and how he could have betrayed her. Sasha has a lot to deal with in this final book, but she never loses her sense of purity. I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s what offsets Kirill’s darkness and draws people to her, that inner light even when she’s surrounded in a world of dark. I like that she never gives up hope for those around her. She’s a fighter, which is certainly how she’s come so far in Kirill’s world.

There are a few other characters who got some page time and I couldn’t have been happier for them as their on and off stories progressed through the book. I was also happy to see mentions of past characters, both of this world and adjacent ones. Heart of My Monster ended another fantastic trilogy and now makes another great addition to Rinas Russian Mafia series.

This is the Lords’ universe filled with darkness and anti-heroes and Tyson Crawford runs the underworld of this very dark community.

The Sacrifice is everything Shantel warns so don’t jump into the deep end if you can’t swim.

Tyson is unabashedly unforgiving, as that is pretty much the Lord way, so when he marries Laikyn Maisen, for revenge, from the getgo it’s brutal and super filthy.

Should we expect anything less from a Lord? No.

What I shouldn’t be surprised about is that even we the reader are left in the dark about what exactly that revenge is all about.

This book is wrapped in intrigue and we are left in the dark just as much as his wife.

What we do know is that Tyson has been playing the long game and that he has been putting pieces in motion for years.

Do these two have a happy ending…that much is gripping and nail biting right up until the end.

While I agree it helps to understand the Lord hierarchy and dark underbelly of the world Tyson and Layken are in, you can certainly read The Sacrifice as a standalone and still enjoy it for the dark indulgence that it is without having read the prior books.

Gorgeous tension with a ton of chemistry between these two enemies to lovers.

Benny Marchetti is next in line to take over his father’s mafia kingdom. If you haven’t yet met his father, I highly recommend reading about Daddy Marchetti…cause, yum. Anyway, back to Benny and his sassy soon-to-be wife, Neomi. These two made verbal sparring an art form. It was both cheeky while raising the temperature between them, a brilliant writing style that I’ve come to love from Ferrell.

Benny is neck deep in running the business and really doesn’t have time for marriage, but when his father says he will and it’s for the good of the family Benny will step up and do it, he just wishes his bride would listen and not fight him at every turn. However, I think these two might just be perfectly matched. Neomi isn’t one to sit at home and worry about her manicure getting messed up. This woman is fierce, doesn’t sit idly by when trouble is knocking at the door, and certainly has enough fire in her veins to keep Benny guessing what she’s going to do or say next.

Benny’s psycho is the perfect match for Neomi’s crazy and together they lit the pages on fire. I am loving how Ferrall has written this mafia world and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

The final trilogy in this all consuming, heart-pounding series is wrapping up to be Lorraine’s finest. Sinful Princess has been another sinfully, sweet book that I couldn’t put down. Alex has been worth the wait.

Sinful Princess is full of nostalgic moments. I honestly couldn’t imagine any other Knight recalling stories with love, humor, and a touch of humility like Alex has. They way he regales Evie with stories of the past year of his brothers and how they have all found their loves completely warmed my heart. It’s what made his trilogy the cherry on top of an already great series. The walk down memory lane was bittersweet, but also fantastically sweet as it truly displays how much love Alex has for his family and how much love he has inside for the right woman, which just so happens to be the one spending time with him. This book while had very tense moments, also made me ooohy-gooey inside. Evie and Alex make so much sense and I want everything to work, just the way Theo projects. Yes, that’s right…Theo has somehow become Mr. Romance, just don’t tell Emmie. 😉

There is no denying that of all the Knights Alex is the sunshiny light of the group, but his secrets hold him to the dark side. His internal strife over those secrets lead to some sad and difficult times. So while I adored all of the lovey-dovey, super hot stuff in the middle it is sandwiched in between some heavy, heart-pounding, and dicey moments.

There is only one book left and this book left us with quite the cliffhanger. I’m not sure how everything will turn out so I’m crossing fingers and toes that it will and Evie and Alex find their HEA.
