Thick, steamy tension with a melt your heart ending.

Mason Steele is one tough nut to crack, that is until you get to know him and the background he comes from, then watch out because Mason Steele will steal your heart. His circle is small, I’m talking microscopic tiny that even most of the guys on the hockey team don’t really know who he is. That is bound to happen when he spends about two-thirds of his time at school and the rest back home helping his mom and special needs brother. (Yes, right there – anytime Mason talks or spends time with his brother – I was a big puddle of goo for the big man with emotions of steal). Then in walks Harper and she disrupts his perfectly controlled life, his steally emotions, basically his entire world. Mason is a growly beast to her because he can’t handle the upset, but Harper is made of sterner stuff and lucky for Mason she doesn’t scare easy.

The dynamic between these two bleeds off the page. Where it’s frustrating to watch them both suffer, it’s also completely understandable from both sides.

Harper has her own basket of issues, that don’t involve Mason, he’s basically an afterthought to her overflowing cart. Does she want to make nice with the growly beast, of course she does…Rory is her best friend and Noah is Mason’s and now that Rory is now dating Noah she realizes Harper will be in Mason’s orbit. The mistake was thinking that Mason has a brain cell to think beyond himself…I know harsh, but Mason initially sort of is and that is the groundwork for a lot of their heated back and forth. Harper, from her perspective, is just trying to play nice, but Mason just doesn’t play, end of story.

Some of the best moments in the book revolve around the younger Steele brother, Scottie. Not only do we see Mason as someone beyond the cold hearted man he portrays, but Scottie makes those around him stop and take in the world in a new way. His directness, while it makes Mason uncomfortable at times, is refreshing to others probably because it makes Mason uncomfortable. It’s a totally sweet dynamic.

There is so much more I could say as this book as it just continued to get better as the story progressed. It was another great win in this series and what is quickly becoming my favorite series of L.A. Cotton ‘s.

Cut the tension with a knife between these two past friends in this highly charged second chance romance.

Link and Tate, were two former best friends whose past was so tangled up in hurt, brokenness, and pain that emotions were running high when they meet again in college. Add in some close proximity and fake dating and this book was impossible to put down!

Tate’s father was a famous NHL star, who was never there for his family. The damage she suffered from her father spilled over into every aspect of her life. When her feelings for Link begin to grow beyond friendship and she knows his sites are already on going pro with hockey, Tate pulls back from him, when all Link wants to do is push forward. Its awful to watch Tate self sabotage so many good things, like her relationship with Link, but when Link wants more than just friendship with Tate, as he eventually pushes for it, well…that is the moment when everything changes for them.

Link loves both hockey and Tate, but ultimately he can’t have both. He knows what the situation is, what her past trauma is, but the heart wants what it wants. Pushing too much also means pushing her away, but don’t call Link an angel. He has his own scars and there is a majority of the book where he’s a major douche and tries to push Tate away, but at the same time he just can’t seem to stay away. Ultimately Link needs to prove that he’s different than her past and Tate also needs to do the same for Link.

The tension between these two is soooooo thick. I loved it! Even better than the tension, is Brody. His comical timing is the best and his friendship is truly one to treasure. His book should be fantastic!

They say the line that separates love from hate is thin. So thin in fact that the two almost coexist. Almost.

It’s also been said that when a dude is a jerk to a girl, it’s because, deep down, he wants her. I’m calling bullshit on all of it.

Super sweet and kind of dreamy new addition to the Wallflower Valley U series.

Is it fake when it always felt real? Don’t ask Felix and Dahlia their opinion on this matter as they completely faked themselves out when they both agreed to this plan to avoid lots of real feelings.

While they both jump in and agreed to the terms of a fake relationship, their relationship was anything but. To the outside eye, no one would have guessed that they weren’t actually boyfriend and girlfriend. Even Felix’s sisters couldn’t tell his relationship wasn’t real…sooooo, just who were these two pretending for? That’s a question I’ll leave for the reader to discover.

What was lovely though, Felix and Dahlia had a very easy friendship. There was nothing fake or forced about it. Yes, at first Dahlia was a little shy around him, but once she opened up her word vomit actually intrigued him.

Like Felix, Dahlia is as athlete, she was extremely busy with school, golf tournaments and her future career as a fashion designer. Boys had never really factored into her plans, but with Felix now in the mix they made it work because he had the same crazy schedule. It was actually nice to talk to someone who understood the pressure they both shared.

Felix had never had a girl to share anything with or even close to what he felt in his daily life and having Dahlia to talk to was what he enjoyed most, aside to the intimacy it created. She opened up a whole new world to him.

Their relationship was easy, with a slow burn, but also with great chemistry. It’s low drama except for what they themselves created, cause you know…fake relationship and all….everyone sees what they don’t. 😉 It’s a great addition to this sweet series.

Ridge, Maddox, Lev, and Riley pick right back up in this intense and very steamy second book. I couldn’t set the book down once I picked it up, loving every word in this fast moving story.

Lev was fascinating and everything I was hoping for in his original lack of empathetic character. His growth and change, that he attributed to Riley, was fascinating to read. Not only was he was brutal and callus, but he was exactly what Riley needed even when she didn’t understand why she needed it at first.

Riley already has a relationship going with Maddox, who is the perfect boyfriend in every way possible, but once Riley gets pulled into Lev’s orbit she soon realizes that she needs the dark edginess of Lev to talk to her dark side, to help expunge her demons. It doesn’t mean she likes Maddox any less, she still needs his light side, she’s just needs them both.

Then we have Ridge…the beautiful, crazy, and insanely obsessed Ridge and I love his deep intensity. He loves without limits and says exactly what’s on his mind. Yes, can be off putting, or a tad much as it freaks out Riley, but as she’s learning, his passion is also really great and she misses his presence when he’s not stalking her or even right by her side.

This book focuses a lot on the relationship between the three guys’ long standing friendship as they figure out how a love can work between them and Riley. The suspenseful, fast moving plot is still moving around all of this steaminess and it’s filled with suspense and heat and chemistry galore! I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book.

From the very first chapter I was hooked, I melted, and I was ready to give my heart away to West Fontaine. I give this book ALL the stars!!

West Fontaine is drawn to Carolina Lancaster while on holiday in Europe. It was a chance run-in, considering they are both are US citizens and they met in a club in Paris. Carolina has never attended the school her family owns and West is currently the top dog considering no Lancaster is currently attending Lancaster Prep. Their meeting sets off a chain of events that seem like fate…perhaps, but I love this story of serendipity and West is now one of my favorite book boyfriends.

Weston Fontaine may have had a few moments throughout the story where he was riding the ego train and I wanted to put him in a serious timeout, but, be still my heart…West didn’t ride that train for long. It was easy to forget that both West and Carolina were only eighteen and both seniors in high school. Their life experiences both aged them in a lot of ways, but Murphy was great in circling back and grounding us, the reader, to flush out those moments reminding us just how young they both were.

While West had his moments where he thought he was ready to knock Carolina Lancaster down from the proverbial tower that she lived in, he really wore his emotions on his sleeve. Carolina, although closed off and cold to basically everyone, she was her true self when she was with West. These two were melty, ooohy-gooey, with the right amount of angst, goodness that I love reading in Murphy’s new adult books. Their back and forth was page-turning and I was so wrapped up in West and Carolina’s story that I never wanted to leave. Yes, it was that good. Completely heartbreakingly wonderful!!
