Every once and while I read a book that touches my soul so hard it leaks out of my eyes for hours and hours. Bleeding Chaos is one of those books. It’s a very emotional, beautifully written, second chance romance that I couldn’t put down.

I knew that going into Gages book that his story would dig into old wounds that might be a little uncomfortable. However, Nikki wrote a story that is both emotionally realistic, but still very touching that even my emotional triggers were wrapped in a warm blanket of soothing calm.

While Gage has his own story of loss and addiction, the FMC, Sadie does as well. While Gage has been digging himself deeper into addiction since he lost his girlfriend six years ago, it’s upon a visit to her tombstone, that he comes across a woman who is lost in her own grief. Sadie is this woman who is drowning in her own grief and Gage notices a familiar soul even through his drug-fog. They are able to comfort one another without really getting close because of this empty feeling inside, but it’s also not helping, if that makes sense. Gage is still an addict and Sadie is still avoiding her life. To say the rest is history is to belittle what happens, because sooooo much happens, but I’ll just say, it’s emotional, and heartbreaking and yet also inspiring.

What I will say is…addiction is hard. Period. But, I loved how Nikki not only tackled the downslide of addiction, as it doesn’t happen instantly and for those stuck in the sycle there is a mental health aspect in both staying in the downward spiral and also involved in getting better, plus it also doesn’t happen overnight. So many books jump the gun in fictionalizing the aspect that love cures you and while I agree that having a strong foundation of loved ones supporting you goes a long way towards recovery, it’s not the cure. Once Gage is getting help he is very aware that he was using for years and his recovery will continue for years to come, if not the rest of his life, but he is also aware that he is the only one who can fix himself and without getting help he is also the one who can falter again. His message was very powerful and so very strong, hence the soulful tears.

Sadie is a fierce powerhouse. Her life is torn apart over and over again, but she continually pulls up her bootstraps and puts herself back together. Her ability to forgive, love, and pick up the pieces of her life is amazing and I never once thought bad of her for the decisions she made regarding how she had to guard her feelings. It takes a good foundation to keep moving forward and without her huge heart I’m not sure Gage could have done as well as he did, especially with his job, so I did like her.

This whole book brought me to tears over and over, as Gage reminds me of someone very special and Nikki did his story justice. As much as it shocks me, considering this entire series has been fantastic, I do believe this is my favorite story of the series.

Total Chaos was plotted to perfection. Each twist was revealed at the perfect moment to give the characters emotional depth, but also to keep the story flowing so I never wanted to put the book down. Also, while the series has given me a unique couple to fall in love with with each book, Kendall and Declan have easily slide into first place with this beautiful book.

Declan has been in love with Kendall for years while she has been oblivious to his infatuation. I believe everything happens for a reason and at the right time, even though Declan suffered years of unrequited feelings, it truly was for the best and he does come to agree with that sentiment. During those hard years Kendall went through men like kleenex as she wasn’t ready, nor was she emotionally stable for Declan. He is a forever kind of guy and once they jump into something…well, together they are all kinds of perfection.

This story is sweet, romantic, and truly heartfelt. It delves into those feelings we’ve all felt at one time or another. Self doubt, self esteem because, yes, even rock stars have self-esteem issues. We’re human and isn’t that why we love connecting with other people just like us, even a runaway bride and her best friend with a ton of unrequited feelings. This book is real and hits all the feels. Total Chaos is total perfection and I couldn’t get enough of this newest couple.

I was holding my breath for that devastating moment because Nikki…darn it!! I hated to see it all shatter. The really high high made for the perfect rebuilding that this couple needed to fix.

Fast forward six years and Raging Chaos, the band formed with Braxton and his best friends, is famous and on tour and currently in need of a PR manager. While the rift between Braxton and Kaylee is huge, she went to school for this very thing and she could really use the job. While Kaylee’s not thrilled to be on tour with her ex just as much as he is, being professional is her top priority. Braxton just makes her job a little harder than it should be.

Their hate to passion back to love road is not an easy or straight line. It’s hard and hurtful and lots of tears between them as these two have quite a few bumps on their road and demons to face before any type of HEA can occur. The close friendship with the band is special and I love to see how they are a found family, always there for one another, which also includes the Blackwood parents. It’s all that love among their friends and their family that truly shines and holds everyone together, book after book and what I love returning to.

This is an emotionally charged best friends to lovers story. It’s also not your typical rock star romance, with drugs, sex and well…rock and roll. Camden Blackwood comes from a musical powerhouse family, so I love the respect behind the story when it comes to not diving into cliches. Instead this first book dives into the beginnings of four best friends who form Raging Chaos, their rock band that takes off right after high school, and the relationship between Camden and his best friend Layla.

This was a fantastic book to begin Raging Chaos. There were pathways into each band member; Braxton, Gage, and Declan and the potential for where their stories could lead. I loved their brothership with each other and their loyalty never wavered. It was ‘chef’s kiss’ perfect!

Layla moved in next door to Camden sophomore year of high school and he was basically in love with her from that very moment, however the chance to say something to her was never there. She either had a boyfriend or was healing from a breakup. After eight years he finally has the opportunity to tell her how he feels and he refuses to let that moment pass him by again. Camden is eternally patient and kind, super sweet and caring. He’s Easton’s son, so I should have expected nothing less.

Layla has a sweet little boy, Felix, who is just adorable. While he is the result of a marriage Layla second guesses all the time, she never second guesses having her son. I love how Nikki writes these moments, because we all have them; the what if I hadn’t done this…but then I wouldn’t have that…kind of moments. Doubt and guilt are funny things, but when Layla reconnects with Camden he helps ease those doubts, just like when their friendship was at its peak, and watching their relationship reblossom, it’s another great reminder that things happen for a reason.

A Chance Encounter is one of those books that checks off every box for reading perfection! A story that flowed, has wonderful characters, low angst, amazing secondary characters, an adorable child who offers the perfect comedy relief, and chemistry through the roof. It’s the kind of book that you don’t want to end.

Sophia Davis has been burned by men her entire life, so when Easton Blackwood comes along and actually steps up her trust is nil. No matter how hard he tries to break down her walls, she really wants to believe, but trusting someone is hard. She’s a total firecracker and continually pushes him away and while that might be some of the attraction to him, it also entails so much more.

Easton is super swoony and basically the perfect man. He’s attentive, giving, and caring. If he didn’t live in the spotlight, where the paparazzi has access to his life and he lives on the road, he would be perfect for Sophia, but that trust I was talking about, the last man who broke her down…well, he shattered her by pushing her into the shadows and living life out of them is terrifying.

Everything from their meet-cute is charming and steamy and continues that way to the very end. I loved this book and was thrilled that the Blackwoods will continue with a new generation.

There is something so endearing about innocent youth and how easily they give their love. If only adults could live their lives with such ease and without all the complications.
