Ridge, Maddox, Lev, and Riley pick right back up in this intense and very steamy second book. I couldn’t set the book down once I picked it up, loving every word in this fast moving story.

Lev was fascinating and everything I was hoping for in his original lack of empathetic character. His growth and change, that he attributed to Riley, was fascinating to read. Not only was he was brutal and callus, but he was exactly what Riley needed even when she didn’t understand why she needed it at first.

Riley already has a relationship going with Maddox, who is the perfect boyfriend in every way possible, but once Riley gets pulled into Lev’s orbit she soon realizes that she needs the dark edginess of Lev to talk to her dark side, to help expunge her demons. It doesn’t mean she likes Maddox any less, she still needs his light side, she’s just needs them both.

Then we have Ridge…the beautiful, crazy, and insanely obsessed Ridge and I love his deep intensity. He loves without limits and says exactly what’s on his mind. Yes, can be off putting, or a tad much as it freaks out Riley, but as she’s learning, his passion is also really great and she misses his presence when he’s not stalking her or even right by her side.

This book focuses a lot on the relationship between the three guys’ long standing friendship as they figure out how a love can work between them and Riley. The suspenseful, fast moving plot is still moving around all of this steaminess and it’s filled with suspense and heat and chemistry galore! I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book.

What a reading rush!! Riley Cross has her hands full with this harem and I’m so here for it!!

Where Riley is night and day different from her best friend Scar, the men who fall for Riley are just as extreme. This is Riley’s first year at university, and like many students, she’s feeling the shift and change that that milestone brings. What she didn’t factor in is the guilt that followed her from what happened while she was protecting her friends while they were at the Academy, nor the aloneness that plagues her as she watches everyone around her fall in love. Is it karma that the most intense man begins to stalk her? It’s not the relationship she was after, nor the deep love affair she wanted when his intense gaze burns from afar everywhere she goes, but he never says a word to her when she’s close. Riley begins to believe she’s broken and my heart ached for what she desires…to be wanted, to be needed, to be loved.

Ridge is her obsessive, psychotic stalker and he is a fascinating character to say the least. He is definitely an antihero who is unapologetic of everything he does, intense to the extreme, yet he is protective, territorial, and weirdly loving in his own way when it comes to Riley. Is everything he does for her right? In his mind, yes, and at the end of the day that is what his obsession is all about. There were so many unique and dark facets to his character that I loved unraveling and I can’t wait to dig even deeper as this storyline progresses.

Maddox is the shiny, take home to meet your parents, guy and this is the boy that Riley gravitates towards in the light, even when her dark side reaches out for Ridge in the dark. I also have a feeling of, don’t let Maddox’s pretty boy shine fool you, that we’ve only scratched the surface with him and I can’t wait to find out more of his backstory, especially since he seems like the stabilizer between Ridge and Lev.

Now Lev…this book just scratches the surface and OMG…he’s one scary dude. If you thought Neo was the ultimate big, bad nightmare…Lev has nothing on him. Lev is apathetic and cruel a combination that gave me chills every single time he interacted with Riley. There is a story behind why he is the way he is and I can’t wait to crack him open and find out that very reason, bring on the goosebumps.

I couldn’t put this book down once I began and I now can’t wait to dive back in for more. This is a very dark book, but I loved where the story went, just be prepared if those triggers aren’t your jam.

There were so many secrets that unraveled, one after another, leading right up to a twisted ending!

Twisted Secrets really was the perfect title for this perfectly twisted finale. Not only were there multiple secrets revealed, but there was also twisted up feelings, twisted up friendships, suspense and mayhem was also twisted up in this gloriously page turning finale. Everything was brilliantly tied up and I was spectacularly happy with twisted up ending.

Whew…I wonder if I can fit the words; twists and secrets, a few more times in this review??

As for Scar and her three men…well, I’ll leave with this…they go through a lot in this final book. Neo doesn’t make anything easy on anyone, but as we’ve come to know, that’s just Neo. However, the darker the antihero, the deeper we all seem to fall, so Neo gives quite a ride to say the least. As for Crew and Jagger, they get their moments too, because this wouldn’t be a finale if they remained a silent doormat.

Twisted Secrets is twisted, there are a lot of turns and secrets that I never saw coming, and this last book is stuffed full of emotions, which I don’t want to say threw me, but it was another twist.

This entire trilogy was fantastic from beginning to end. I loved diving into this dark, depraved world and would totally recommend to anyone who loves reading morally gray characters.

Things are heating up and getting more twisted as the plot thickens. It’s delicious and suspenseful and you won’t be able to put it down.

While there have always been intense feelings between Jagger, Crew, Scar and Neo, whether it was anger, hate or something else now that Crew and Scar have become an official couple Jagger is wondering if he should have made his feelings known sooner.

Vicious Lies dives deeper into the past relationship between Jagger and Scar as well as how he could potentially fit with Crew and her now. He isn’t there to mess up what they have, but he also isn’t willing to walk away from what he feels for her, what he’s always felt for her.

I love Jagger and how he handles his friendships along with his feelings for Scar. She too doesn’t back down with the intense emotions she’s feeling for both guys and stirring deep inside, and I mean deep down inside is something else for the third guy in residence, Neo. Mostly it’s hate, but you know right there next to hate…well, we’ll just have to see.

For Scar, there is a really nice balance between a sweet and loving Crew, a spicy and protective Jagger and I can just picture a total Dom of an alphahole in Neo, but I’m totally here and ready to find out.

Plus…the mystery of who is stalking Scar and wanting to bring everyone down, I can’t wait to find out how it all ends.

This is a dark, stalker type intense story, with a hint of mystery, that showcases a smart-mouthed heroine against three angry-rule-the-school boys…ALL THE YESSESSSSS!!!!

I stayed up soooooo late that I seriously thought of calling in with the – I’m sorry I have a book hangover – excuse the next day.

Scarlett is a total bada$$. She never backs down, never once gets distracted by their gorgeous faces, their wicked games, manipulative play or emotional warfare. (I have a serious girl crush on her.) Scarlett used to be friends with Neo, Crew, and Jagger, but then tragedy struck and now they are enemies. They don’t hold back and neither does she. This book is a total wild ride and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next.

All four of the main characters have grown up together so it would have been so easy to fall back into a relationship of comfort, especially one between Crew and Scarlett. Those two are the closest, of had the closest relationship in the past, but they also suffered the most damage in their friendship. While this book only has a POV that switches back and forth between the two of them, there is definitely something brewing between all four. It was kind of neat to only get the perspective of only two of the characters when this story actually involves more, so I’m really curious how everything will play out going forward and what insight we will be privy to.

As for the other guys; Neo is the leader of the three guys and by far the meanest, but in small and I mean extremely small doses you see him play nice and in those moments he could have easily broken down walls with Scar, but there is more to his tough shell, we just don’t get enough of him…yet.

Jagger is an entirely different story. He’s always played in the gray when it comes to Scarlett’s emotions. Never being too nice, but never being ulta mean either. He finally unveils a bit more of himself, which should lead to some interesting times ahead.

I’m really excited to jump into more of this story. This first book left on a mysterious cliffhanger and I”m totally salivating for more, more, more!!

This is my first stroll into the Black Heart world, but I wasn’t lost considering I didn’t read Four. Iris is one lucky lady living with three men, Silas, Gabriel, and Baron. It’s not conventional by any means especially given that Silas is the father; biologically over Baron and adoptive over Gabriel. Dig a little deeper and these three men are also assassins for hire, so their family dynamic is already a tad messed up, but they make it work. They share Iris, alternating nights, but never sharing at the same time. It works for their home life, until a cog suddenly falls out of place.

When Gabriel leaves for a mission and doesn’t return, their entire family knows something is wrong. The Blacks work relentlessly to retrieve him, but in the meantime Gabriel learns some interesting facts about his captors and Iris falls prey to her own mission causing a new ripple in the already complicated family dynamic.

I loved the complicated feelings that this reverse harem brought to the story. Each man had their own feelings about the woman they loved and wanted to call their own, but along with that Iris also felt very deeply about her men. Add in the suspense of what was going on around them and it only heightened those emotions.

A very well done, tenseful, reverse harem story.

Super intrigued by the darkness this book brought that I couldn’t stop reading.

Two children spent four years in foster care together. Best friends, but separated when they were adopted into two different families. While that may seem like the beginning of a happy ending, it was actually the beginning of a nightmare.

Callum spent the last twelve years building his revenge against those who left him, wronged him, and hurt him. He is a man with a dark soul and a hollow heart. He’s cruel, lacks empathy, and his methods of revenge are a bit disturbing, but I was also fascinated at what his game plan was since so much of the man was shrouded in mystery. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what was going to happen, even though Callum himself wasn’t someone I ever wanted to come upon in the dark or even in the light.

Isabella left Cal’s side twelve years ago. While her life went quite a bit differently than his, she never forgot the boy who also had a huge impact on her as a young girl. She has no idea when they reunite years later that she will be kept prisoner in his castle, that’s right…a castle, that she will beg, plead, and cry to go home. Cal is not the boy she remembers, but every once in a while she catches glimpses of the boy she once knew. Is it enough to stay? Not the way he treats her, no. Bella steps into a world she doesn’t know or understand. There are unknown factors and Cal won’t tell her or open up. These mysteries kept me going, even when I agreed with Bella’s thoughts on leaving. 

I was completely intrigued by what should have disturbed me. Basically, what turned my stomach, I couldn’t tear my eyes off the pages and stop reading. I had to know more and I needed to know why. I was frustrated by everything just like Bella, trapped in the pages just like she was trapped in the castle.

This book contains scenes that may disturb some readers. Degradation, imprisonment, snakes…shudder…oh the snakes…and more dark topics. While it’s all important to character growth and the plot, it is a dark book for a reason.

His Hollow Heart is book one in a duet and I can’t even imagine what’s to come for Cal and Bella as their story unfolds.
