This anthology is jammed packed with love stories. There is everything from catching up on favorite characters to brand new short stories from 30 authors! A couple of the short snippets, I’m really hoping there will be longer books coming in the future, but until then…here are a few of reviews from some of my favorite authors contained in this anthology!
Arrow and Salem by Saffron A. Kent – Arrow and Salem have made it through a lot, but their wedding is finally here, however, Salem’s sister reaches out one last time. This short is intense. Also, for fans of this series, Saffron gives us a peek into what’s coming up. Squeeeee!!!!
Dash and Holly by Susan Stoker – A new short story that is suspenseful and steamy. It is the perfect story to be read back to back with Riley Edwards, Magic and Stella.
Magic and Stella by Riley Edwards – Magic and Stella and the best friends to Dash and Holly and their love story happens right alongside same timeline. Both short stories are full of suspense and steam and wonderfully written.
There are so many stories and I can truly recommend them all, so jump in and read your favorites or find new favorites. It’s all good.

If Riley Edwards has asked me for ingredients for what I love in a novel…she added all of my favorites in Nixon’s Promise.
✔ Small town romance
✔ Alpha male with a huge heart
✔ Suspenseful plotline
✔ Family and friends that add just the right dash of flavor
This is one of Riley’s best books to date! Filled with heat, suspense, chemistry, an alpha male who isn’t over the top, but completely yummy and insta-love-worthy. Nixon’s Promise is one to add to your TBR now so you have it ready to read when it releases.
Nixon Swagger is a former Navy SEAL. He’s home trying to repair and update his family home and farm from years of neglect. His father passed away several years ago and unfortunately his land has sat vacant since. Nixon doesn’t mind hard work, but he appreciates the helping hand of his neighbor’s brother, Zack, a teen who has also found himself recently without parents. Zack is living with his older sisters not too far from his own farm and Nix really doesn’t mind Zach’s help especially when it comes to Zack’s oldest sister, McKenna. Nix is all too willing to provide male guidance to the teenage boy and helping out McKenna, who has her hands full raising her younger siblings, if it means spending time with her. She is smart, beautiful, and so giving. It isn’t long before Nixon finds he wants to spend any spare moment in her presence.
McKenna Wilson has her hands full and is all too grateful when her sexy neighbor offers to help. She has been beside herself in raising her much younger brother and sister. Actually, lost doesn’t even begin to describe her emotions on taking on this monumental task. So when Nix steps in on numerous occasions to help, give a guiding hand, just be support to lean on, McKenna lets him, especially when she notices how Zack looks up to him as a role model. Now if only she could get her sister on board and life would be great.
Aside from the family drama, Nixon is approached from one of his former teammates to help the government stop a terrorist attack, in an off the books way. Nix is highly intrigued, knowing he’s been wanting to form his own company once he got his life in order and like they say, there is no time like the present…and so the Gemini Group is formed.
I don’t want to give more away, because you really should experience the suspenseful plot yourself….sooooo….
Nixon’s Promise is the origin story, per say, as to how this group is formed. It’s brilliantly put together, along with introducing the other members of the Gemini Group and the small town in which the base of operations will take place. McKenna, Nixon, and her family will play pivotal roles going forward…I have a feeling…so if you love Riley’s books I’d suggest picking up this one, especially because it’s sooooooo good!

Once again Riley Edwards captured me from the very first page and held me in her grasp until the very last page! I cannot get enough of the Next Generation!
Jackson Clark is a man who knows what he wants; determined, focused, caring, all things a firefighter should be and more. When he sets his sights on Tuesday Knowls that’s it for him, she is the woman who sets his blood on fire, his heart racing, and whom he can see a future with. Now if Tuesday would just get on board with the plan everything would be easy sailing. Although the pushback she gives is also what attracts her to him as well, so he really wouldn’t change a thing about her.
Being loved for your superficial beauty can leave a lot of emotional baggage. When you top that with abuse of trust from people in your inner circle, you begin to live in a very small circle of people and allowing people in becomes very difficult. Tuesday hasn’t allowed anyone in her circle in a very long time, so when Jackson breaks through and doesn’t allow her to give excuses for kicking him back out, she doesn’t know how to handle the sexy fireman.
When Tuesday’s life begins to spiral out of control, she soon learns that the Clark family and his entire extended family is more than she ever could have imagined. Never having experienced a caring environment of her own, Tuesday doesn’t know how to handle the love and support they all all show each other. Jackson is about to make sure she never forgets the feeling of having people at your back and more importantly the love he can give her everyday for the rest of her life.
Jackson Clark is such a beautiful human being, I love that he looks past the outer package and a lot of the crankiness Tuesday throws at him, until she finally realizes he’s someone she can trust. I can empathize with Tuesday on so many levels she broke my heart, I understand the pain she faced with allowing people in. Too often in my life I heard the comment, “Wow, you’re really nice. I didn’t expect that.” Um, thanks for the backhanded compliment. This is not my story, but all I’ll say is I felt for Tuesday and completely adored Jackson.

I love reading Riley Edwards. Her characters are rich, full of depth and keep me engaged until the very last page. Mercy and Jason were no exception. I was hooked from the very first page. The Very First Page!!
Jason was a haunted man, losing his wife to cancer, but it wasn’t so much his wife that haunted his past, but his own guilt, shame and inequities. Riley dotes out Jason’s past which keeps you riveted – why is this man carrying so much weight around? GAH!
The story was perfectly crafted and Riley delivered it with excellent timing.
Mercy is also an enigma. Coming off strong, charismatic and so full of life, but just when you think you’ve got her figured out – Bam! She has so many layers.
Both Mercy and Jason work for the DEA, but have never worked together. A case pulls them by each other’s side which creates a spark which is hot (okay, really hot) and also begins the core emotional part of the story! The case also involves a serious drug problem where they have to infiltrate a high school to catch the center of the drug ring.
This sounds a little 21 Jumpstreet, right?
Well, not quite. Let me state, I worked for a school district for a number of years and unfortunately drugs are a serious problem. The common misconception is that it stems from low income, high crime areas. Riley did her homework (pun intended) because the drugs that she writes about do stem from higher affluent, wealthier income schools. It is a real problem and unfortunately it does not appear to be going away anytime soon. I applaud Riley for writing about a real problem. It’s not always easy to do, but it fits nicely in the plot line.
The push and pull of Mercy and Jason is life. We all have our trials and tribulations, filled with family and you’d think when reading you’d want to escape it, but somehow Riley makes me crave it. My TBR pile was growing by the minute as I got to know all the members of the next generation. I’m so looking forward to it!

Getting Hisoka‘s new life on track, his new job, where he eats, shops, whom he meets takes up a large chunk of the story, which may seem irrelevant, but don’t let it fool you. Pay close attention because as you continue reading the other books you may remember clues from Hisoka’s new life and those clues may help you solve the case.

What neither expected was to actually enjoy the other’s company once the deal was done. Luci turned out to be everything Nico never thought possible and yet everything he needed. Now if they could just sway the rest of the mafia to think like they did then life would be living on easy street.

Riley Edwards is a master at writing a suspenseful novel. Trust is filled with action, twists and turns.
The city is under siege and things are going downhill fast. Each book has been building upon the other, layer upon layer, have you picked up on all the clues? If you read last seasons series you know sometimes the clues can be deceptive. Trust delves in deep with characters from last season. We met Logan Reid and Ava Kelley in book 1 last season along with their family and friends. Trust focuses on their best friends Aiden “Mac” Mackenzie and “Laura” Harper Russo. Mac and Laura have been playing with a D/s relationship for several months although it’s clear that Mac wants more and Laura isn’t willing to give more. We learn she is on the run and doesn’t have a real life to give anyone. When reality comes knocking and it’s finally time to say goodbye to the best thing she’s ever known, she finds out the hard way just how stubborn Mac can be and he isn’t going to let her go without one hell of a fight. Thankfully Laura wants Mac to win this one.
There are a lot of clues to be picked up along the way. Are you keeping track?

I love Ellie Masters’ contemporary novels. They are lush, steamy and just darn good.

As a matter of fact, on the books Jasper was listed as working at the 707 research battalion where he tracked supplies and inventory. When he meets Emily it doesn’t cross her mind that he would do anything else, she believed her late husband and friends when they told her what happened around the army base, so why should she believe anything different, that all changed the day Jasper decided to take over her life.
Jasper tried to stay away from Emily, he really did. He desired her, but it went beyond that. When she looked at him, she seemed to look beyond his drop-dead, sexy surface and actually see him. For the first time a woman looked past his superficial and wasn’t out to just use him. That ramped up Jaspers attraction to Emily tenfold. Unfortunately as much as he wanted her, he wasn’t good for her. Emily has a son and Jasper couldn’t give her what she really needs, a family. However, when Emily’s past comes knocking and danger is waving a gun in her face, Jasper feels his protective instincts kick in and he just can’t stay away.
Emily is torn between the manwhore stories she’s heard about Jasper and the protective man who shows up to save her. Emily already had and lost a husband to the military so she is familiar with protective men, but Jasper is a whole new level she wasn’t prepared for. When Emily finally concedes to him helping her deal with her past mistakes she unwittingly decides not to concede her heart in the process. She has her son to worry about and Jasper could do more damage by her side than he realizes. If only life was easy and hearts were easily mended.
The comradery between the Black Ops men is easy to read without it being too over the top macho. Riley Edwards writes this series with just enough relationship, action, and spice that you will want to read the rest of the series to catch up on the previous relationships and read future books to find out what happens to the rest of the Black Ops.

Unbroken – A second chance at love story – Episode 6
This is the conclusion of Reid and Ava.
The story opens with Ava kidnapped and tumbling around in the trunk of a car. Unbroken; Part 2, picks up right where Unbroken; Part 1 left off. If you haven’t read part 1 yet, I suggest you do. Not only is it a great book, but part 2 will make a lot more sense after you’ve read part 1.
Logan Reid was left helpless as the love of his life was kidnapped, thankfully leaving her son JJ behind, but the man who had been left to guard the both of them was murdered in cold blood. Another senseless victim to add to the body count in the overall arc of the series, but not tied to the serial murders that have been taking place throughout the series.
Why do I mention this?
The man who was murdered, Rick, is important in this particular story, but without giving too much away and spoiling a very well written story that you should enjoy on your own so I won’t go too much further into that detail. However, I will mention that even though Rick may not have fallen as a victim to the serial killer that mysteriously pops up in each novel, we, the readers, are only given just enough clues about what is happening in the investigation regarding the serial killings to wet our appetites and then try to piece together the evidence while then desperately awaiting the release of the next book so we can scour it and hunt for more clues. Or something along those lines.
Seriously, I can’t wait to piece everything together and have that “OMG!! No way!!” moment when it all comes together. I love reading these type of books for this very reason.
Okay, back to the storyline.
As for Ava and Reid, in Unbroken, part 2, everyone begins to mend the broken pieces of their lives. Yet, new obstacles are constantly thrown in front of them and the killer clearly has Reid in his sights. Even with all the struggles Ava and Reid prove to be a worthy couple and worth the read. Second chance love stories, especially with amazing kids written into them are a heart melter.
Over and over again, JJ definitely melted me down to a pile of goo. That kid is amazing.
Just keep in mind, this is Episode 6 in a series of 10. As with every book in this series, don’t ever get too comfortable. These authors love to throw a wrench into the well-oiled machine of happiness. If you enjoyed Unbroken; Part 1 with all the ups and downs and twists and turns, then strap in and get ready for another wild ride.

The Collective, Unbroken, begins by pulling at your heartstrings and then quickly delves into the mystery that will lead you down twists and turns searching for clues. The first book by Riley Edwards is quick paced and grossly engaging as you try to figure out the puzzle of “who done it” before the characters do.
Since her husbands murder, Ava Kelley’s life has been on autopilot. Work, sleep, eat, repeat. The one small joy she has in her repetitive life is her ten year old son, JJ. Working hard to support her son she doesn’t recognize the man who has been helping her out and placed practically right under her nose. Her late husbands friend, Reid, has been patiently waiting for the day when she was finally ready to stop grieving and begin living, will it be too late when Ava finally wakes up?
Reid has the patience of a saint. It’s been five years since his friend was murdered and even though watching over Ava and JJ wasn’t a burden, his feelings for Ava have grown more everyday. Unfortunately she is still living for the dead. Circumstances finally push Ava out of her walking dead daze, but not in the way Reid was hoping. With a dead body count on the rise, an unwanted family member in town, and danger lurking around every corner Reid and Ava must learn to trust one another while figuring out this new attraction that is burning between them.
And did I mention there is an adorable ten year old boy involved who makes this book extra enjoyable to read? Well, I suppose you’ll just have to find out for yourself.

The Gift is a short, but intense novella about a sadist Dom and his masochistic slave. With the brief look into the couple’s world it displays the bond that quickly builds between this give and take relationship of extreme pain.
For a masochist to really let go they need to receive pain at a level that would seem cruel to most. Victoria craves the pain, but until she met John she never was able to achieve satisfaction.
To deliver the right about of pain at a level as to not cause permanent damage a Dom has to have the right touch. John has never met the right woman he felt comfortable enough to really be himself with until he met Victoria.
There is an extreme amount of trust that forms rather quickly bewteen these two. John and Victoria’s story may seem overwhelming in it’s intensity, but it is a love story at the heart and that is what will pull you in.
Look for The Awakening, by Riley Edwards, coming out in 2017. It will feature John and Victoria’s friend, Dean and a sweet submissive he has a hard time saying no to.
