Review:
Tessa Hale is a new author that has really wowed me with her fantastic writing, flushed out characters and rich plot development.
Rowan was adopted and never knew or questioned who her birth parents were. After the death of her sister, her parents packed up and moved closer to Seattle to start a new life, hoping to put the grief and loss behind them. Unfortunately, Rowan’s mother slips even more into darkness, her father all but abandons them for work and Rowan is left alone to find her way at a new school and new town.
Within the first few days, Rowan meets; Holden, Vaughn, Keene, Lucas, and Anson. Each boy causes a different reaction, but also similar in that she gets a spark, a kind of electrical zing, just from a brief touch and then depending on who it is she also got an extra kick…come to find out that is based on their particular gift. In this fantasy world, the more mates you have, the more powerful your gifts are. Gifts range from premonition, super strength, to healing powers. That extra kick, well…each boy has their own gift and it affects Rowan differently each time.
Since Rowan was adopted she never knew she had gifts or any kind of abilities. Now that she’s around other paranormals, her entire life is about to change, some for the good, some…well remember when I said that the more mates someone has the more powerful they are, Rowan soon has a target on her back, so even though she can’t help falling for each of the boys that suddenly surround her, she also doesn’t like the attention that it brings.
This is a slow burning romance, but given the age of the characters, it’s not noticeable. With the action of the storyline, it’s filled with adventure, the plot is constantly moving forward, so while there are five boys that are mated to one girl, there really isn’t time to get nakkey.
This is book one of a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger and I definitely need to know what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series going forward.

Synopsis:
It was supposed to be a fresh start. A completely blank slate in a place where no one knew about the tragedy that ripped her family apart six months ago. A tragedy Rowan can’t help but blame herself for.
Now the only thing she wants is to blend in. To escape the house that has become more like a prison. Her new school is her only hope. Somewhere she can pretend she’s just like everyone else.
Only Rowan doesn’t realize how unique she is. Holden is the first to recognize it, but he’s not the last.
Rowan can’t explain the draw she feels to the guys who have found their way into her life. The way something seems to spark the first moment she touches each of them. How it almost hurts to walk away from them at the end of each day.
Things are changing, from the ripple of power humming just below her skin to this new family she’s finding herself a part of. But not all of the changes are good.
Someone doesn’t like the power Rowan is stepping into or the bonds she’s forming with the guys who have gifts as rare and strong as her own. And when the truth is revealed, it has the power to burn everything in its wake…
