Review:
If there were Oscars given for books, Callie Hart would win all the awards!! She has created an epic novel with Quicksilver. Within this new romantasy series she’s written a rich tapestry and filled it with magic, fantastical creatures, mystical beings and sparked a match between a couple that sizzles and pops on the page. I’m hooked and a fan for life!!!!

I swear my heart raced so many times that it would burst into flames. My cheeks were constantly flushed whether it was from laughing or from getting extremely emotional. To put it mildly, I’m in awe of Callie’s writing. This fantastical world she’s built has shredded my soul and left it in tatters more often than should be possible.

Saeris Fane meets Kingfisher in the most pivotal moment in her young life and he quickly becomes -“The devil you know is best kept by your side”, or how about, “keep your enemies close”…or something along those lines.

Pulled into another realm Saeris gets coerced into helping Fisher try to win a centuries long war, but the story is so much more than that. There is trickery and thieves, a rotten king, blood oaths, friendship, laughter, but most important a snarky, human girl with a ton of spirit who might change the course of everything.

Then we have Kingfisher. He is a dark mystery for so much of the book, but just like Saeris, I was drawn to his darkness and didn’t want to leave his side. There was something about him that screamed more, even when he was being antagonistic. Quicksilver is told completely through Saeris’ pov which made the story even more intriguing. Everything was happening real time, so finding out information when Saeris did, you never knew what anyone else was thinking, especially what was going through Fisher’s head. For an adventure type of novel, this was on-point!

Quicksilver is an epic journey filled with battles, magic, friendship, love, passion, fates, and an enemies-to-lovers romance unlike anything I’ve read. This book is unforgettable and has moved me in so many ways. I can’t wait to go back and read it all over again.

Synopsis:

Do not touch the sword.Do not turn the key.

Do not open the gate.

In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn’t much a girl wouldn’t do for a glass of water.

Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses, or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen’s reservoirs for as long as she can remember.

But a secret is like a knot.

Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone.

When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares…but it turns out they’re real, and Saeris has landed herself right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed.

The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist’s magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him… or her.

Death has a name.

It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate.

His past is murky.

His attitude stinks.

And he’s the only way Saeris is going to make it home.

Be careful of the deals you make, dear child.

The devil is in the details…
