Tour Boost – Reeve by Siobhan Davis

A companion novel to Say I’m the One and Let Me Love You

Reeve, an all-new emotional, angsty, new adult romance, and the fourth book in the All of Me Series, from USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Siobhan Davis is now available!

Vivien Grace Mills has been the center of my universe since the second she entered this world.

Every memory I hold precious includes her.

She’s my biggest champion and the one person keeping me sane during some of the most testing times of my life.

Vivien shows me what it means to love and be loved.

I know she’s the one from an early age.

When I land my dream role, plans for our future are finally coming true.

Until everything falls apart, leaving a complicated trail of broken, scarred hearts and long-lasting consequences.

I messed up: I failed her. I failed me.

I won’t rest until the only woman I love is back in my arms.

Nothing or no one will stop me from reclaiming her heart. Not my manipulative costar, my greedy agent, or the backstabbing studio publicist.

And especially not him.

My determination and patience are successful, and Vivien is back where she belongs.

I finally have the family I have craved my entire life.

But I sacrificed so much for my poor decisions, and I’m not finished paying the price.

Sitting on my bed, fresh from my post-workout shower, I clear my throat and press record on my phone. “Hey, guys. Today is a very special day, because on this day eighteen years ago, the most important person in my life was born.”

I fight a smirk as I hold up the cutest baby picture of Vivien. Lauren sent me a few after I told her I wanted to record a birthday video. My girl is probably gonna string me up by the balls for sharing this publicly, but I want the world to know I love her and how much she means to me. I can’t think of a more perfect way to do that.

Plus, I’m missing her big-time today. This is the first time I have missed her birthday, and I’m all up in my feels. If I can’t be with her, I still want her to know how much I adore her. I want her to feel surrounded by my love even if I’m thousands of miles away. I already got confirmation the lavender roses I sent her were delivered, and Moira confirmed she dropped my gift off at the house last night and her parents will give it to her today.

“I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for this gorgeous, smart, funny, compassionate, loving woman,” I add, holding up a different photo. This pic is one we took while in Big Bear in January. We are wrapped up in one other, both sporting matching wide smiles for the camera. “Have you ever loved someone so much it physically pains you to be apart from them?” A tight pain spreads across my chest, confirming my words. I rub at the pain, but it does nothing to alleviate the perpetual ache for my girl. “As much as I am loving bringing Camden Marshall to life, I am missing my baby so much.”

Emotion swirls inside me as I lean in closer to the screen, speaking these next words directly to my love. “I love you, Viv. You are the best thing to ever happen to me, and I don’t even care that the guys are going to give me shit for this.” I blow her a kiss. “You are my world, and I wish I could be there to hug you and kiss you. Only twenty-seven days until I see you again. I can’t wait. Till then, have the happiest of birthdays, my love.” I blow her one final kiss before ending the recording and pressing publish. I like the thought she will wake up and see my message first thing.

Predictably, when I show up on set, the guys give me a ton of shit for my “sappy” birthday message.

“Look what I dug up online.” Rudy smirks as he holds out his cell phone while we are assembled around one long table in the cafeteria eating breakfast.

“Where the hell did you get that?” I swipe the phone from his hands so I can look at the picture up close. It was taken the night we attended our first Harry Potter premiere together, and I remember it as if it was yesterday.

“It’s amazing what you can find when you google shit. There are tons of pics of you and Viv from when you were kids. I see what you mean now. There’s no way you can hide your relationship from fans, and I don’t think you should. You two are the ultimate Hollywood love story. I think fans will eat that shit up.” A fake swoony expression coasts over his face as he places one hand over his heart. “Even my cynical ass believes in the dream.”

Pity my agent and the studio publicist don’t share that sentiment. I have tried making the same argument, but they are not listening to me.

Blog Tour – Dirty Crazy Bad: The Complete Collection by Siobhan Davis

In the secret society of The Luminaries, no sin will go unpunished…

Pride. Wrath. Lust. Envy. Greed. Gluttony. Sloth.

Dirty Crazy Bad, a dark, secret society, reverse harem romance from USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Siobhan Davis is available now in ebook, paperback, and audio. This set includes the prequel, Dirty Crazy Bad book 1, Dirty Crazy Bad book 2, and exclusive brand-new bonus content told from multiple character POVs.

In the secret society of The Luminaries, no sin will go unpunished…

Sleeping with my boyfriend’s best friend, behind his girlfriend’s back, probably wasn’t my smartest idea.

But Jase is mine, and it’s about time Julia knew it.

Attending Lowell University was supposed to be a fresh start. A chance to end all the sneaking around and make our relationship official.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Julia is digging her claws into Jase.

My boyfriend, Chad, is getting in deeper with a local gang.

And my loathsome new stepbrother, Ares, has just moved in.

Ares despises Chad and Jase, and the feeling is mutual. As their rivalry escalates, Ares seems determined to use me as a pawn, and I’m trapped in the middle. It doesn’t help that he’s hot AF, knows exactly how to push my buttons, and my body hasn’t gotten the memo he’s off-limits.

I wish that were the least of my worries.

Pride. Wrath. Lust. Envy. Greed. Gluttony. Sloth.

My life turns upside down the moment the dark secret society of The Luminaries is revealed to me.

Everything I thought I knew was a lie.

Now, I have lost all control over my future, and a heart-breaking new reality emerges.

One where lovers become enemies, enemies become allies, and corrupting sinners to sin is my only way to survive.

The door slams against the wall as I stumble into my bedroom on shaky legs. Reaching behind me, I shove it closed, instantly muting the sounds of the party raging downstairs in the lower level of the townhome I share with my boyfriend, Chad, and my loathsome stepbrother, Ares. The place is packed with coeds, jocks, members of frats and sororities, and our personal friends from Lowell University. Along with the degenerates Ares is hanging out with tonight.

The room spins, and I sway a little as I hold on to the wall while removing my heels and kicking them away. I’m not feeling so hot as I flop down on my king-sized bed, staring up at the stark white ceiling, wondering why I thought it was a good idea to drink so much.

Usually, I am pretty smart when it comes to alcohol. Drinking enough to generate a nice buzz without losing control of myself.

Tonight is different.

Tonight, I am trying to forget my broken heart.

“Seeing him walk through the door with her draped all over him sent me over the edge. I knew I would never survive the party unless I blotted it all out and numbed myself to the harsh reality of my current existence.

Pain slices across my chest as intense as if someone has plunged a knife into my flesh.

A lone sob travels up my throat, surging for freedom, and it’s an anguished, strangled, desolate sound as it rips from my lips.

Fuck, it hurts.

It’s not getting any easier.

Turning on my side, I pull my knees up to my chest and wrap my arms around myself as if that will keep me together.

Everything is turning to shit, and I seem powerless to stop it.

The more I learn about the secret world of The Luminaries, the more I lose control of my life. Sometimes, I wish I had a time machine so I could go back to senior year of high school and warn myself of the danger lying in wait for me when I started college.

To think my biggest worry coming here was extracting Chad from the deal he made with The Sainthood.

“Gang warfare is a normal way of life in this part of California, but The Luminaries make The Sainthood and The Bulls look like kindergarteners.

What a fucking joke.

It’s not true what they say—ignorance isn’t bliss.

Most everyone in my life was hiding huge secrets from me, and I was walking around, living a lie, like the biggest fool.

I have been ignorant my entire life, largely thanks to my mom and her misguided sense of protection. Blood boils under my skin as Pamela’s image surfaces in my mind’s eye. I dig my nails into my knees, enraged as I think of all the ways she has fucked up my life. Some mother she turned out to be.

Music blares, hurting my ears, and a burst of light from the hallway has me squinting in the darkened room as the door swings open. I glance over, scrubbing my eyes as a tall, muscular form kicks the door shut with a booted foot before stalking toward me. His familiar hulking frame is a shadowy blur as he strides across the room.

“I want to be alone, Chad,” I say, my words slurring slightly. I angle my face away without looking at him. Things have been increasingly strained between me and my boyfriend since arriving at Lowell University a few months ago.

Especially these past few weeks.

I’m not the only one who has lost Jase. I met Jase through Chad, and it was my boyfriend who proposed I take his best friend as my lover too. They have been best friends and teammates on the football team for years. This is the first time they have stopped talking to one another, and I’m not sure if the damage to their relationship can ever be repaired.”

Who are we? Like you even need to ask. We’re the seven richer-than-sin legacies causing

Some call us spoiled.

Some call us trouble.

But everyone calls us the Park Avenue Princes.

Donovan “Van” Truitt

“The Model”

Wrong place. Wrong time. Right guy.

Showing up at a very indecent film shoot was an accident. I was a highly paid model. A professional. I didn’t get down and dirty for the cameras, but one look at the sex god needing a scene partner and I found myself reconsidering.

After all, with a name like Sin, a body out of my rugged lumberjack fantasies, and a head full of dirty-blond hair I wanted to grab, he was almost impossible to resist. But I did—until fate put him back in my sights.

The only problem? He was the new rising star of his industry, and that meant he came with conditions.

The proposition: If I wanted a night of “Sin,” I needed to show up for the cameras.

My terms: Make sure my identity remained a mystery.

It was only supposed to be one time, one scene. But I quickly learned that anything less than everything would never be enough with him.

Who would’ve thought my happy accident would lead to so many happy ending…s?

Excerpt

Sin’s arm around my waist tightened, pulling me even closer up against the hard lines of his body, and I realized I’d been so busy enjoying the feel of him that I hadn’t answered.

“Trust me,” I said, sliding my hands up his arms. “I’m not going anywhere.”

A smile full of sexual promises curved Sin’s mouth, and I felt it all the way to my toes.

As we began to dance, I took the opportunity of being so close to really look at him. He wore his hair up tonight, tied back from his face, and I knew I’d have my fingers running over that scruff lining his strong jaw before the night was out.

On second thought…why wait?

I reached up, trailing my fingertips over the trimmed beard that matched the dirty blond of his hair. It was somehow both rough and soft to the touch, and I could only imagine the way it’d feel rubbing along my thighs, leading up to—

“Feel something you like?” Sin’s whiskey-colored eyes darkened.

Oh, I could feel several somethings I liked, including the one growing harder between us.

Instead of answering, I simply smiled and rolled my hips against his. I let my hand drop down from his face to the lapel of his suit jacket, my gaze following the tanned skin I could see from the collared shirt he’d left unbuttoned a little ways. That seemed to follow with what I’d so briefly seen of the man so far. Casual and easygoing, but with an erotic intensity that seemed to knock me on my ass.

With one arm still wrapped around me, Sin lowered his free hand to my ass, giving it a squeeze with every thrust of my hips. It didn’t matter that we were in a crowded room, that my friends were no doubt watching every second of this encounter. Hell, they were probably cheering me the fuck on from the VIP and shouting directives.

But I didn’t need any help here.

Sin’s head lowered as we danced, and for a heartbeat I thought he was about to kiss me. I closed my eyes at the heady scent of his cologne as I breathed him, and then I felt his lips brush ever so lightly along my neck.

Damn. Just damn. I couldn’t even hide the way that slight touch sent a tremor through my body. And all the while we kept moving, holding each other close as we danced to the pulsing rhythm.

Sin hummed by my ear, the sound a mix between a growl and a purr as his lips brushed over the shell of my ear, bringing to mind the thoughts I’d had of him earlier that week. The animalistic ones. The raw, earthy ones that made me feel desperate and needy. Something about his bringing a primal side out of me. I was about two seconds away from tearing his damn jacket off right there on the dance floor.

I curled my fingers into his lapel as I angled my hips forward, rocking myself up against the hard cock I could feel pressing against me. He cursed, and his warm breath washed over the skin of my neck.

“Ah, I know what you want…” Sin slid a hand up under my jacket, smoothing it along my spine until he could hold me in place. Then he wedged a foot between mine and dipped a fraction to roll his hips up, grinding himself on me, and my eyes practically rolled to the back of my damn head. “That it?”

“Mhmm.” I was the one purring now. “It’s definitely a start.”

He chuckled by my ear, and the rough sound vibrated through me and made every nerve ending come alive.

“Then maybe it’s time you come with me…” My breath caught, and fuck, he flicked his tongue over my earlobe. “Somewhere a little more private.”

Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance
Release Date: November 12, 2023
Excited about Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland’s
upcoming release, The Rules of Dating
My One-Night Stand?
Check out this SNEAK PEEK!
“Can I ask you something?”
“What?”
“Were you jealous that I was out with another woman?”
Devyn looked away. “No.”
My lip twitched. “No, huh?”
“I wasn’t jealous.”
It was difficult to keep a straight face, because she was so clearly full of sh$t. But…if she wasn’t jealous, a few details wouldn’t bother her, right?
I sipped my wine and watched Devyn’s face. “Tarryn asked if I wanted to take her back to my place.”
Her eyes narrowed. “That’s nice.”
“We’ve had sex before. So I don’t think she wanted to sit on the couch and watch TV.”
Devyn’s face flushed red.
I couldn’t help myself. I wanted to see her get pissed—admit she was damn jealous.
“Yeah, that Tarryn’s a real wild woman in bed. Last time she visited, we broke a lamp. Knocked it right off the end table from the bed bouncing around so much.”
I watched the muscle flex in her cheek, the same cheek that was turning a lovely shade of crimson. Yet she still wouldn’t look at me.
“Devyn?”
Her lips pursed as she stared straight ahead.
“Devyn?” I said louder.
“What?”
“Look at me.”
Her head whipped to face me, and she stared with daggers in her eyes.
I smiled. “It wouldn’t bother you if I…fu¢ked Tarryn?”
That did it.
She broke.
But she didn’t yell at me like I expected.
Not at all.
Instead, she smashed her lips against mine.
It caught me so off guard that I took a few seconds to catch up. By the time I did, Devyn was hoisting herself over, climbing me like a freaking tree.
Fu¢k yeah.
This.
This was the chemistry we’d had from the very start.
I grabbed her a$s with one hand, lifting her higher, and guided her legs around my waist, so lost in the moment that nothing existed in the world except this kiss.
Which was probably why I didn’t hear the door open…

BLURB
Rule number one for having a one-night stand: Don’t fall for the girl.
After a lengthy dating slump, I finally met someone who sparked my interest.
Well, first the sparks flew when we argued. Later in the evening those sparks ignited into something more.
I was drawn to Devyn, in a way I hadn’t felt in a really long time.
Needless to say, I was disappointed when she abruptly left after our amazing night together.
I couldn’t stop thinking about her. But she hadn’t even given me her number.
In a city with eight-million people, I figured I’d never see Devyn again.
So imagine my surprise when I knocked on the door of an apartment in the building I lived in, and none other than my one-night stand stood on the other side.
If I thought Devyn didn’t want anything to do with me before, that was nothing compared to how she felt after finding out I was the landlord and she was about to be evicted…
And that was just the first surprise that would rock my world when it came to the mystery woman in apartment 410.

Synopsis

Who are we? Like you even need to ask. We’re the seven richer-than-sin legacies causing

debauchery at the prestigious Astor University in Manhattan.

CHAPTER 6

JT

THE BEST THING about Astor so far? The high-end coffee bar conveniently located between classes.

As I stood in line, I read over the specials menu, which featured drinks I’d never even heard of. Blueberry matcha latte? Espresso and tonic? Eh, I wasn’t quite that adventurous, though something called a cereal milk cappuccino piqued my interest. Whatever had caffeine and tasted decent was good enough for me.

I checked the time on my phone and moved with the line, getting closer to the counter but not by much. Still, I could afford to wait a few more minutes.

“So let me guess. White mocha frappuccino?”

My head shot up to see West’s lazy grin as he sidled in beside me. I glanced behind him to the glares his cutting in line had earned, but he only crossed his arms over his chest and studied the menu board.

“There’s a line for a reason,” I said pointedly, pocketing my cell.

“A line?” West’s nose wrinkled. “Not sure I’m familiar with the term.”

I shook my head. Of course this was new for him. He probably had his coffee delivered in class. “Are you stalking me?”

“What? Two people who go to the same school can’t happen to run into each other from time to time?”

“I’m sure they could, but this feels intentional.”

“Or it’s a double shot kind of day and I saw you standing alone.” West cocked a brow. “Want me to leave?”

I looked around us at all my classmates paired up and in groups and felt that dull pang of loneliness that came with being the new guy. People weren’t exactly lining up to be my best friend, but West didn’t seem to have the “dean’s son” aversion.

“How about this,” I said, as the line moved forward. “Tell me what your deal is and you can stay.”

“Gonna buy my coffee too?”

“You’re the one who lives in the Waldorf Towers. You can buy mine.”

West smirked but nodded. “I like you.”

“You don’t know me.”

“I know enough.”

“In the whole two conversations we’ve had?”

“There are other ways to get to know someone.”

I cocked my head, eyeing him closely, something about that statement sending up warning flags I probably should listen to, but… “What do you mean, ‘other ways’?”

West chuckled, the sound cool, his smile charming. “Relax, JT. It’s not like I’m a stalker or anything.”

“You sound like a stalker.”

“And you sound paranoid. I just meant that I’ve seen you a couple times around the halls, and you’re always alone. You seem like a nice guy, so it can’t be that you’re an ass—”

“Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

“All I’m saying is, you look like you could use a friend.”

“And that friend should be you?”

West shrugged and slipped a hand into his pocket. “Could be. I don’t see anyone else lining up. And you know why? Not because of you; it’s because your mother is—”

“The dean. Yeah, I worked that much out myself.”

“Right. But if you’re friends with me”—West leaned in a little closer, and Jesus, the guy even smelled expensive—“everyone will like you.”

I turned my head to make sure he saw how hard I was rolling my eyes but instead found myself staring into his. They were a cool azure blue, like the clearest lake, and seemed to sparkle at me like the sun was reflecting off the water. It was probably one of the many reasons he got away with everything and anything.

Too charming for his own good.

“JT?”

“Huh?”

“I was saying, if you’re friends with me, everyone will like you.”

“Because you’re that likeable?”

“Let’s put it this way—people talk to me for two reasons: they want to be me or want to be friends”—he paused and winked—“or more with me.”

I snorted and shook my head. “Wow, you’re super confident.”

“That comes with having enough money to do whatever the hell I want.”

“And is that what you do? Whatever the hell you want?”

“And who, if I’m lucky.”

Blog Tour – The Two Week Roommate by Roxie Noir

We used to be best friends. Now we’re snowed in together.

The Two Week Roommate, an all-new steamy, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine standalone romance from USA Today bestselling author Roxie Noir, is live now!

There are probably worse things than being stuck in a remote cabin with the rugged-yet-grumpy forest ranger who saved my life in a blizzard. Bear maulings, for example, though I might prefer that to eating breakfast with Gideon Bell, the guy who nearly ruined my life when we were kids.

It was twenty years ago. We haven’t spoken since. Our families still hate each other, and our lives are completely different. I’m not sure we’ve got anything in common besides childhood memories.

But when it’s just the two of us for a couple of weeks, none of that really matters.

What matters is the way Gideon grumbles, but makes my tea exactly the way I like it. What matters is how he always gives me the spot on the couch closest to the fireplace. What matters is how he looks at me when he thinks I’m not paying attention.

And those childhood memories? He’s in all my favorites.

Up here, in the cabin, it’s easy to look past all that because it feels so good to kiss him. It’s easy to spend a wild night in front of the fireplace and wake up still wrapped together. But back in the real world, where everything that drove us apart is still alive and kicking? It’s a lot harder.

Can Gideon and I fix what broke twenty years ago, or does what happens in the cabin have to stay in the cabin?

Everything to love about The Two Week Roommate:

🌲 He’s grumpy, she’s sunshine

🌲 They’re snowed in together

🌲 Childhood friends to enemies to lovers

🌲 He’s a virgin

🌲 She’s not

🌲 There’s only one bathtub

🌲 Sometimes you gotta use a headlamp to see exactly what you’re doing

🌲 Steam level: 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥

Keep reading for a look inside The Two Week Roommate!

“Gideon,” Dale says as soon as I answer, no preamble. He sounds a little out of breath. “You’re out by Copper Hollow, right?”
“I’m not far,” I tell him.
“You come across that girl?”
I’m staring out the window, snow swirling as the blue-tinted darkness falls. Dread settles over me like a blanket.
“What girl?” I ask.
“The girl chained to a tree.”
I’m already by the stove, stepping into my still-wet boots, because—
“There’s a girl chained to a tree? What the fuck?”
“You didn’t come across her?”
“No,” I say, and my voice echoes off the wood-paneled interior of the Forest Service cabin that, up until now, felt pretty cozy. “Why the fuck is there a girl chained to a tree?”
“I think she’s protesting that new mine on Swayback Mountain. People are real mad about it but it’s right outside of the National Forest so there’s not—”
“She’s an adult?”
“Yeah?”
I take a deep breath and close my eyes for a minute, because when Dale said girl I was picturing a nine-year-old in a bad situation, not a grown woman who did this to herself. She’s probably not doing great right now, but still. At least she’s not a kid.
“I haven’t seen a woman chained to a tree, no,” I tell him, a little calmer as I grab my coat with one hand. “If I’d seen a woman chained to a tree in this weather, she wouldn’t be chained to a tree anymore.”
“Shit,” he mutters, and then I can hear him talking to someone in the background, snatches of conversation coming through. I put the satellite phone—which is just a regular smartphone connected to a small satellite receiver, I remember when a satellite phone required its own backpack—on speaker and lace my boots up. At least my socks are dry.
“Yeah, her friend hasn’t heard from her,” Dale says, and I can tell he’s trying to sound calm but he…doesn’t. “Everyone down here who’s any sort of emergency personnel is busy pulling people out of ditches or worse, do you think you could—”
“I’ll go find her,” I say, pulling the double knot on my right boot tight. “Send me the coordinates.”
Three minutes later I’ve got GPS coordinates as well as semi-detailed directions from Dale, if you count the creek where we had to take down the beaver dam in ’83 and I thought one of those things was going to gnaw my leg clean off as directions, and I’m heating up the Forest Service’s truck while folding the map to precisely the right spot. Already, it’s half-dark, the snow is swirling hypnotically in the headlights, and all the roads up here are barely dirt tracks anyway. They’re hard enough to find in full daylight when it’s not snowing.
For the record, I don’t want to be doing this. I was all set to heat up some dinner, maybe make some tea, wash every dish that the chipmunk touched, and then settle in with a book and go to bed by nine. That’s the whole point of volunteering for grouse observation duty for two weeks during Christmas: peace. Quiet. Solitude. As much as I don’t want that chipmunk living in the walls of the cabin, it didn’t ask me any pointed questions about whether I’m ever going to get married or come back to church. The chipmunk won’t passive-aggressively ask me how everyone in my household is doing and then deadname my brother Reid.
The road to High Meadow Mine is about three miles as the crow flies and about forty harrowing, white-knuckled minutes in the truck. There’s one point where I’m absolutely positive I’m about to fall ass over teakettle down an embankment, but somehow at the last second I remain on solid ground. Thank fuck for four-wheel drive, I guess.
The sky’s a deep purple when I finally make the last turn from a dirt road to a gravel road—yes, there’s a difference, there’s a major difference—and see about ten signs that read “NO TRESPASSING, PRIVATE PROPERTY, BEAUMONT MINERALS LAND, STAY OUT.” They glow as I drive past them, practically holding my breath and leaning forward over the steering wheel like a ninety-year-old with glaucoma. A little further and there are the hulking yellow machines, oddly pretty when they’re doused in snow like this, lined up along the side of the road.
I can’t say I disagree with this woman for not wanting Beaumont Minerals to mine here. Even though it’s about half a mile outside the national forest, it’s still pristine and pretty, the forest practically untouched. I just wish she hadn’t chained herself to a tree with a snowstorm coming, which might be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.
The gravel road ends abruptly: a few orange-and-white sawhorses across the road, and that’s it. Just trees. I stop the truck and look around, because it sure seems like no one’s here. If someone were, they’d have stood and waved or gotten my attention somehow, right?
Unless they were dead. Or incapacitated.
“Fuck,” I whisper to myself, pull my hat down, and get out of the truck, still running with the lights on. The engine and the wind in the trees are the only sounds for miles, even my footsteps dampened by the snow. If there were someone else here, they’d be making noise, but there’s nothing as I take a step past the barricade, almost into the trees.
God, this isn’t the wrong entrance, is it? I thought there was only the one, and I’m at the coordinates Dale gave me but I know technology is fallible sometimes. Everyone’s heard stories about a hiker in need of rescue whose GPS showed them on a ridge but they were actually ten feet to the right and fifty below in a ravine, waiting for help that wasn’t coming because—
There’s a soft rustle and I nearly jump out of my skin.
“Hello?” I shout, which I should have done several minutes ago, probably. It doesn’t always occur to me to talk.
“Uh, hi?” says a woman’s voice.
I turn so fast I nearly lose my footing and walk toward the voice, my shadow cutting dark, diffuse shapes across the trees when I walk in front of the headlights.
“I’m from the Forest Service,” I say, shielding my eyes against the falling snow as I scan the trees for her, still walking. “There’s a blizzard out here—” no shit, Gideon, “—and I need to get you to safety.”
The rustling gets more spirited, but she doesn’t answer. Finally, I see something bright blue between two trees, out on the fading edge of the headlights, and I step into the shadows.
A pod person straight out of a science fiction double feature stares back.
There’s a second where I honest-to-God believe it’s some sort of cryptid—this is deep woods, there are tales, this is how half of them begin—but then my eyes adjust and I realize it’s a woman in a sleeping bag, standing against a tree, a chain around her middle.
Then my eyes adjust more, and I look at her face, which is the only part of her I can see, and I blink some snow out of my eyes, and I look again, and—
“Andi?”
The sleeping-bag-pod-person pauses for a moment, squirms a little, clears her throat, and says, “Gideon?”

Synopsis
Who are we? Like you even need to ask. We’re the seven richer-than-sin legacies causing debauchery at the prestigious Astor University in Manhattan.
Some call us spoiled.
Some call us trouble.
But everyone calls us the Park Avenue Princes.

Weston LaRue
“The Playboy”

I’m never one to turn down a bet. Especially not when it comes to retaliating against the dean for pulling a dick move before summer break.
So when the dean’s golden child arrives at Astor for his freshman year, my fellow troublemakers throw down a wager I can’t resist.

The target: the dean’s son, John Thomas Hawthorne, or “JT.”
The bet: corruption in any way I choose.

It should’ve been easy. With his mess of brown curls, pouty lips, and good-boy reputation, JT is the perfect revenge. And even better? He’s straight.

Challenge accepted. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove a point, no matter how reckless it might be.

Game. On.

CHAPTER 6

Excerpt:

“Can I get you anything else?” I ask, my eyes darting to the door. It’s crazy busy and I need to get back. I also wouldn’t mind putting some distance between the two of us. His presence is magnetic, and it concerns me that I’ve noticed.

Little beads of sweat cling to his brow before he swipes them away with the back of his hand. His disarming smile is firmly in place as he stalks toward me. “Just your company.” He moves in closer, and his breath tickles my face when he speaks. “What’s your name, and do you go to school here too?” Curiosity lights up his handsome face as his inquisitive gaze probes mine.

“Why do you want to know?” I step sideways to create some distance between us.

“I’m just making conversation.”

There’s a weird tension in the air. A crackling charge ripping across the space separating our bodies, and I don’t like feeling some freaky connection between us. “Well, I’m working, and they need me outside, so I should go.”

“It’s too quiet in here, and I don’t like hanging around by myself.” His earnest eyes are shielding nothing, and I know it isn’t a lie or a ruse to trap me into spending time with him. “Not when I’m pumped full of adrenaline. Normally, my friends would be here, but they all had shit to do tonight.” His eyes soften. “You’d be doing me a big favor if you kept me company.” He flops down on the couch, still maintaining eye contact with me. He pats the space beside him. “I only have a short break, and I promise I won’t bite.”He flashes me another ovary-clenching smile. “I’m betting you haven’t taken a break all night. Rest your feet and take a breather.”

A break does sound nice, and he’s right. I wasn’t able to take my usual ten minutes earlier because it was too busy. Suddenly, my feet feel heavy, and my legs ache like they might go out from under me.

Garrick hops up and grabs two chilled bottles of water from the mini refrigerator as I lower my tired butt onto the couch. Fridays are always nightmarish because I have classes until lunch, then I work my shift at Butterfly Flowers, and run back to the apartment I share off-campus with my friend Ellen to grab something to eat and a quick shower before showing up for my shift at the bar. I usually sleep in late on Saturday morning, too exhausted to get up early.

“You look like you need this as much as me,” he says, handing me a water.

“Thanks, and I do. It’s hot out there tonight.”

“It’s a veritable sauna, ”he agrees. “If it’s like this every Friday night, I might start showing up in nothing but shorts.”

“That would be one way of keeping your fans loyal,” I tease as I uncap the bottle.

“I’m here for the music, not the girls.” He flashes me a flirty look, that seems to contradict his statement, before gulping back his drink.

“Said no rock star ever,” I deadpan, fighting a grin. “I’m not a rock star nor do I have any desire to be.”

“How come? You must know you’re good, and isn’t it what most musicians dream of?”

He shrugs before draining his second bottle of water and tossing the empty in the trash can. “Not me. Music is a hobby. It’s a release. A way to indulge my creative side. It will never be anything more.”

“It seems a shame to waste such natural talent, but I admire you for knowing what you want and sticking to your resolve.”

“I still don’t know your name.” He twists around on the couch. His knee brushes against my jean-clad leg as he leans in closer, giving me his undivided attention.

It’s unnerving, but I still can’t force myself to get up and leave.

“And you didn’t tell me if you go to UO too,” he adds, looking at me like I’m the most fascinating person in the world.

“I’m Stevie, and yes, I go to school here. I’m studying floral management and just about to finish my sophomore year.”

“Same here.”

My eyes pop wide. I’m pretty sure there are no guys in any of my classes. Floral management is not really a guy thing.

He chuckles. “I meant I’m a sophomore. I’m majoring in family enterprise.”

“Oh, cool. Does your family have a business?”

He nods as his tongue darts out wetting his lips. “My dad is CEO of Allen Lumber and Allen Wineries. I’ll be joining the business when I graduate.”

His tone is very matter-of-fact, and it doesn’t seem like he’s bragging. Wouldn’t matter if he was. I’m hard to impress, and I can’t think of any guy who has ever managed to do it. “I know Allen Wineries. The country club I used to work at back home buys their wine. So, you’re from Seattle too?”

“Born and bred.”

“What part?”

“Dad lives in North Bend, and Mom lives in Medina. I used to split my time between both homes.” Air trickles out of his mouth as he drags one hand through his messy dark hair.

Something akin to desire pools low in my belly, but I ignore it.

“What about you? Where do you call home?” he asks.

“Ravenna. I live with my mom, and my nana is close by too.”

“No dad?”

“I never knew him.” I’m not about to get into it with a guy who is a virtual stranger even if he seems like an okay guy and the conversation is flowing easily.

“This feels a little like fate.” His eyes sparkle with excitement.

“What does?”

“Us meeting like this.”

I resist the urge to roll my eyes. “It’s coincidence. Not fate. And it’s not like there aren’t a ton of people attending Oregon from Seattle.”

“True, but I’m sticking to my convictions. You call it coincidence. I’m calling it fate.” He attempts to dazzle me with that flirty smile again, and it almost works. Angling his body closer, he stares at my mouth like he wants to kiss me.

WIN A TRIP TO VEGAS!

https://trilinapucci.com/knotyourmomsvegastrip

She’s yelling. My older sister, Samantha, is actually yelling at me.

I don’t think she’s done that since we were kids.

Admittedly, I just texted her that I got piss drunk in Las Vegas and married a total stranger. So, yeah, this sudden call and her head-splitting tone aren’t exactly a shocker. But still, I didn’t anticipate how mad she’d be.

Because it’s loud, mad. Her voice is slicing my brain open. She’s too loud for the delicate balance I’m barely holding on to. That balance between wanting to puke my guts up or just giving up and finding a bench to sleep this hangover off, hobo-style.

I pull my cell away from my ear as I navigate through people with fanny packs and cheap tropical shirts. All of them milling about in the middle of the busy casino floor like forgotten Sims players.

“Excuse me,” I breathe to some random dude holding a three-foot-tall drink before—Oh. My. God.

My eyes blink quickly, my mouth falling open as I try to ignore the glance I just got of myself in the reflective side of the slot machine.

“Excuse what?” my sister rants, thinking I’m talking to her. “Excuse you for making the single stupidest decision of your life?”

“Give me a break. Marrying some rando you just fucked is like a rite of passage in Vegas. There are movies made about it. I’m not the first, and I won’t be the last. But holy shit…Sami. If you could see what I see right now—”

I can’t even finish my sentence because I’m chuckling. Jesus Christ. I look like a clown who’s been fucked three ways from Sunday. My shoulder meets my ear, sandwiching my phone and also freeing my hand so I can lick the pad of my finger and attempt to rub the black spread of mascara from underneath my eyes.

“Listen to me. I’m a mess—I’ve been walking through this whole-ass casino in a white bodycon button-front dress short enough to show off my liver. And most of the buttons in the middle are missing. Don’t ask. I’m having to hold it closed, otherwise, my entire stomach will show—I’m a poster child for that Katy Perry song ‘Waking Up in Vegas.’”

She doesn’t let me finish, cutting me off.

“Be serious, Eleanor. For the love of god, why are you making jokes?”

I roll my eyes as last night’s faux red bottom heels click a bit faster on the shiny floors.

“Sami, stop overreacting. It’s not that serious because—”

She still doesn’t shut the fuck up.

“How did this happen? Please tell me this wasn’t your idea.” Her voice switches to panic. “Wait, were you drugged? Oh my god.”

“Are you crazy?” I laugh.

“Are you?” she huffs. “You married some guy you just met in Las Vegas. What do you expect me to think?”

“Not that I’m involved in some secret scheme to drug girls into marriage. Because we all know guys are just desperate to get to the altar. Stop watching those crime shows, weirdo.”

I can’t help but laugh because she’s about to go from lecture to holy shit, from big sister to a co-conspirator, in about two seconds when I say what’s sitting on the tip of my tongue.

“Whatever,” she breathes.

So I hit her with the real tea.

“Plus, it’ll be fine because he’s not just some guy, Sami…He’s Crew Matthews—the quarterback for the fucking Las Vegas Raiders.”

This bomb is particularly hilarious for two reasons: one, our father is a die-hard 49ers fan, so my pussy committed treason last night, and two, my sister is in a poly relationship, and one of her boyfriends is a Hall of Fame quarterback.

“I mean, what are the chances? This is wild, right?” I add, grinning ear to ear over the ridiculousness of the whole situation.

I hold my breath, waiting for her to explode. I can already picture her face. Shock and awe plastered all over it.

The silence feels like forever.

But then her voice thunders over the line, louder than all the slot machines I’m surrounded by.

“Shut the fuck up. Lies. Holy fuck. Dad’s going to kill you. You’ll need to change your name to Julia Roberts because your ass is sleeping with the enemy.”

AUBREE

“Do you hear that?” I whisper, listening for any sound outside our bedroom. My question forces my husband’s eyes to open. He was already half awake, thanks to me asking him the same question a few minutes ago, but since it’s only five in the morning, he was probably hoping I’d fall back asleep.

Peter shakes his head and smiles as he pulls me toward him. “I don’t hear anything,”he says, giving me a soft kiss. My belly erupts with butterflies, the way it always does when my husband kisses me. It’s been that way since the first time he kissed me ten years ago.

Without breaking our kiss, he rolls us over so I’m on my back as he hovers above. “Merry Christmas, Aubs,”he murmurs against my lips as he pushes his groin against me.

I wrap my arms around his neck, fully on board with some early morning sex, when the noise I’ve been waiting for finally arrives.

“Mommy! Daddy! Santa came!” Evie shrieks. Two seconds later, she and her brother, Miles, burst into our room, both of their faces lit up with excitement.

“There’s a gazillion presents!” Miles says as Peter rolls off of me, groaning even as he breaks into a smile. He’s already switching to dad mode.

“We musta been sooo good,” Evie adds.

“The best,” I agree.

“Go check it all out, and your mom and I will be right there,” Peter tells the kids, who nod and race out, their tiny feet padding across the tiled floor.

“To be continued,” Peter says, kissing me softly.

After using the bathroom, we head out to the living room, where we find the kids attacking their stockings, candy and small toys strewn about, while they wait for us to open presents.

Peter plops onto the couch and pulls me down with him, wrapping his arms around me and kissing my cheek. “All right, who’s opening the first gift?” he asks with a huge smile on his face.

 “Me!” both kids exclaim.

We pass the morning with the kids opening present after present. Peter is a culinary professor, and I work at my grandma’s bakery, so we’re not rich by any means, but we love the holidays and always make sure to put money aside to make them special.

“Mommy, this one says your name, ”Evie reports, bringing the small gift over to me. “Look…” She thrusts it at me. “It has an M for Mommy.”

“You must’ve been really good,” Miles says. “Rory said mommies and daddies don’t get presents because they’re too old.”Rory is Miles’s best friend in his preschool class.

“Oh, your mom was very good,” Peter says with a knowing smile. “Open it.”

I take the box from Evie and unwrap it, a little giddy since Peter and I agreed not to exchange gifts this year due to money being tight. Inside the flat box are several pieces of paper. “What did you do?” I ask as I read the words over and over again.

“It’s a two-week trip to France to study with some of the top culinary chefs,” Peter says, making me gasp in shock.

“Pete…”My heart thumps wildly in my chest. “How did you…? How can we afford this?”

He lifts his hand and cups the side of my face. “I used my connections at work. You leave in three weeks, and I’m using my time off to stay with the kids.”

I look over at our four-year-old twins. I’ve never been away from them that long. But this opportunity is once in a lifetime. “Thank you. You’re the best husband ever.”

His smile stretches across his face. “I love you, Aubs. I just want—” His words are abruptly cut off, his features suddenly twisting into a pained expression. His eyes meet mine, a strange mixture of shock and…fear?

“Pete, what’s wrong?” I ask, confused.

“I…I think…my…chest…heart,” he stammers. He clutches his chest as I try to piece together his words. His chest…His heart…“Pete…”

“Daddy, what’s wrong?” Evie asks, toys forgotten.

“Daddy, does your belly hurt?” Miles asks.

“My heart,” Peter repeats, and it finally clicks. His heart! “Something’s wrong…” He looks from the kids to me, and my own heart feels like it’s about to stop beating. This can’t be good.

“Kids, go play in your room for a few minutes. Daddy isn’t feeling well,” I tell them, trying to keep my voice calm so they don’t freak out—which is damn hard to do since on the inside, I’m the one freaking the hell out.

The kids, evidently too worried and scared to argue, run off.

“Bree, I need you to call 9-1-1.”

Peter’s face is ashen, and his voice is breathy, like it’s hard to even speak. I grab my phone from the end table and then do as he says and call the emergency number. As I’m telling them all that I know—my husband is having chest pain and says it’s his heart—my eyes stay on Peter, praying they get here quickly. I’m giving them our address when Peter looks at me with tears in his eyes, mouthing I love you

His eyes close, and I scream into the phone to hurry. They ask me to stay on the line, so I put them on speaker, so I can use two hands to grab my husband’s shoulders and try to wake him up. “Pete, please, wake up. Help is on the way. Just hang in there…”

His body jerks slightly and then goes still, and I don’t know how I know, but I know his heart is no longer beating. I can feel it, as if my own is connected to his. As if our souls are one and he’s taking mine with him.

“Man, that’s harsh. You tellin’ me you wouldn’t make time if someone came along?”

Cord’s beer stopped halfway to his mouth. His attention wandered to a woman swinging her hips on the dance floor.

Oh yeah. He’d make time for her in a fucking heartbeat.

Holy hell. Her legs went on forever. His gaze started at the heels of her high-heeled silver boots, gradually traveling up along the sexy line of those shapely legs, ending at her luscious ass barely hidden beneath an extremely short denim skirt. When her dance partner twirled her, Cord caught a glimpse of bright red bikini panties.

Lust whomped him in the gut.

He’d been so busy checking out her ass he hadn’t seen her face. Her backside faced him—not that he was complaining—and a cheap straw cowboy hat covered her head. Her strong, tanned arms slid around the wide shoulders of the lucky cowboy as she sashayed closer to grind her pelvis against his. The cowboy whooped, clamping his hands on her ass in a dirty dancing move that’d make Patrick Swayze jealous.

It caused a burst of envy in Cord too. Nonchalantly he asked, “Kade, who’s the chick on the dance floor?”

  “Which one?”

“The one with the never endin’ legs puttin’ on the show in the miniskirt.”

  Kade squinted. “You mean AJ?”

AJ? Not a familiar name. “Yeah.”

  “She’s quite the dancer, huh?”

  “Sure is.”

AJ performed a shimmy-shake with her hips, while snaking her arms above her head. The movement caused her tight lace shirt to slide up, exposing the smooth curve of her lower back.

Cord withheld a groan. Nothing was sexier than that dimpled section of a woman’s back above her ass. Nothing.

With the exception of those unbelievably hot legs.

Every wicked undulation of her hips resulted in the fringe on her skirt swishing across the back of her firm thighs. He’d never been jealous of a skirt before now, but he sure as hell was right then.

“She seein’ the guy she’s dancin’ with?”

“Mikey? Nah. Not for lack of tryin’ on his part. AJ doesn’t lack for partners.”

  “I’ll bet.”

“She’s sweet as the day is long. How your sister hasn’t corrupted her is beyond me. She ain’t as wild as Keely, but ain’t for want of volunteers to take her for a walk on the wild side.”

Walk? Hell, Cord would take her for a ride on the wild side. Binding her mile-long legs around his waist as he drove into her hard and fast. Feeling those slender thighs draped over his shoulders as she rode his face.

Jesus. Been an ice age since he’d had a woman, especially a buckle bunny cowboy-toy like her—built for speed with curves that’d lead a man straight into temptation.

Cord nursed his beer, his eyes never straying from her twisting form. Still, something about her seemed…familiar.

AJ threw back her head and laughed. Her straw hat tumbled to the floor.

Come on, baby doll, bend over and pick it up.

She twirled his direction and Cord finally saw her face.

If his lips weren’t pressed against the beer bottle, his jaw would’ve smacked his knees.

The blonde sexpot with the killer legs and fantastic ass was none other than little Amy Jo Foster. His astonished gaze zeroed in on the cleavage spilling out of her V-necked blouse.

  Nothing little about her now.

Talk about degenerate behavior. He’d been ogling his much-younger sister’s best friend. His son’s former babysitter.

  Christ on a crutch.

Good thing she’d never waltzed into his house dressed like that—a sex kitten on the prowl. He’d’ve been arrested for his lewd thoughts alone. Dammit, why couldn’t he stop wondering whether her nipples were pale pink like her lips or cherry red like her undies?

Amy Jo’s large silvery-gray eyes met his for a moment. The come-hither smolder she aimed at him nearly knocked him off his damn barstool.

Where’d she learn that “fuck me now, Big Daddy” stare? She was too damn young.

  She’s old enough.

And he was old enough to know better.

  Wasn’t he?

  Apparently not.

Amy Jo shrieked as Mikey lifted her up, gifting Cord with another glimpse of those sexy panties.

Cord bristled at seeing Amy Jo manhandled. Oh, he’d teach that pup with the roving paws a thing or two about manners.

Right. You’d love a chance to teach her a thing or two about how a real man would handle her.

Before Cord’s butt left the chair to rescue her, Amy Jo broke Mikey’s hold and stooped over to retrieve her hat. This time when their eyes met, she licked her lips and smiled seductively. Wantonly. Like she was picturing him buck-assed nekkid in just his damn hat.

Another wave of lust heated his balls. Then he knew the kiss she’d given him at Carter and Macie’s wedding reception last year hadn’t been a result of too much champagne.

His brain flashed back to the wedding dance at the Bar 9. The early autumn night held a bite of chill as the evening’s festivities were winding down. Dozens of couples boot-scooted on an improvised dance floor beneath a white tent. He’d drifted off, preferring to drink a Fat Tire beer alone. Amusing himself by watching Ky and a couple of boys chasing giggling girls around in the preschool version of two-stepping.

A swish of fabric caught his attention. He turned when Amy Jo sidled up, wearing an ankle length dress the color of sunshine, which fit the fresh, clean, sunshiny scent flowing from her.

He managed a smile. “Amy Jo.”

“I thought that was you, hiding over here all by your lonesome.”

  “Story of my life.”

Silence stretched as thorny as the rose bushes lining the walkway.

Cord shifted his stance. Lately, being around Amy Jo made him feel like a tongue-tied fool. He couldn’t tell her how pretty she looked without sounding like a total letch. He couldn’t mention how goddamn good she smelled without coming across like a deranged bloodhound, or worse—some kind of hopeful horndog.

When in doubt…“Nice night,” he offered lamely.

“That it is.” She shivered discreetly. “If a bit chilly.”

Should he act gentlemanly and offer her his suit coat? Nah. She’d probably think he was an old coot.

  Which he was.

  Dammit. Say something. Anything.

  “You havin’ fun?”

“Absolutely. Weddings are always fun, aren’t they?”

Cord bit back a smart retort and swigged his beer.

“Why aren’t you out there cutting a rug like the rest of your McKay brothers and cousins?”

With his beer bottle, Cord gestured to Ky and the kids. “Someone’s gotta keep an eye on them so they don’t dunk each other in the stock tank.”

“Are you always the responsible one?”

“Yep. I reckon it goes with the territory of bein’ the oldest.”

“Isn’t just the providence of the oldest child to be forced into responsibility.” She sighed. “Don’t you ever want to…”

He gave her a strange look. “What?”

A smile bloomed on her face before it faded. “Never mind. Ky did a great job as ring bearer today.”

“That he did, besides refusin’ to let go of Callie Morgan’s hand.”

“Can’t say as I blame him. A cute girl who can rope and ride as well as he can?” Amy Jo’s trill of laughter was as sweet and fleeting as the evening breeze. “Poor boy is smitten.”

“Seems to be an epidemic in the McKay family of late.” He glanced over to see his brother Colby and his wife Channing slow dancing, as well as the newlywed couple Carter and Macie entwined together, lost to everything but each other. A feeling close to jealousy tightened his stomach.

  Not jealousy. Just indigestion.

Get a grip, McKay. This happily-ever-after wedding bullshit is addling your brain.

During his silent bout of self-pity, Amy Jo glided in front of him. Right in front of him. Lord. She was nearly as tall as he was in those ridiculously sexy yellow high heels.

“Why aren’t you smitten, Cord McKay?”

Cord had nothing to say to that. He studied her, half-wary, half-curious about her intentions.

“You could be smitten with me.” Keeping their gazes locked, she slowly angled forward and kissed him. Just a feather-light press of her soft mouth to his. As his lips were getting with the program, she withdrew slightly, letting their heated breath mingle for a second before she sank her teeth into his bottom lip. She gave a playful tug, followed by a thorough flick of her wet tongue to soothe the sting. “Because I’m definitely smitten with you.” She sauntered toward the tent in a cloud of chiffon and pure temptation.

Cord remembered licking his lip, realizing she tasted as warm and sweet as autumn sunshine. He’d been too stunned to chase after her, chalking up the teasing kiss and challenging words to booze and the party atmosphere.

He hadn’t thought about it again until now. As a matter of fact, he hadn’t seen Amy Jo since she’d moved to Denver last year to attend massage therapy school with his sister. His mother kept him updated on Keely’s exploits, which usually included tidbits on Amy Jo and her family.

LAIKYN POV

“Here.” Tyson offers me the second glass of whiskey and I look from it to him, making no attempt to accept it. “I didn’t drug it,” he growls.

“I don’t believe you.” I lift my chin.

He rolls his eyes and throws the one he’s offering me back, proving that it was, in fact, not laced with something. Setting both down on the tray, he walks over to me, closing the distance and I stiffen. “Why would I drug you?”

I swallow nervously but answer honestly. “Makes me compliant. Easier to take advantage of.”

Reaching up, he runs his hand through what’s left of my bun, pulling bobby pins loose and letting them drop to the floor at our feet. The long, wet curls fall down across my bare back and over my shoulder, some falling in front to frame my face. “That would be too easy.” He finally speaks, his knuckles brushing it off my shoulder. “I want you to feel me holding you down. I want you to hear yourself gasping for breath when I force you to come. And I want your eyes on mine while I make you cry. I’ll never drug you, Lake, because I don’t need you compliant. You’re now my wife, and I can take whatever I want from you.”

BLURB:

HIS LADY

A Lord is to marry after he graduates from Barrington University, an elite college for the rich. A Lady’s job is to help him fit into a world unaware of his secret society. The Lord does not

get to choose who he spends the rest of his life with. But there is always an exception to the rule. And I just so happen to be his.

I VOW. YOU VOW. WE VOW.

I was to wed a Lord of my parents’ choosing. Wealth can’t buy you everything, or I would have had freedom years ago. Instead, my strict parents made sure I lived a dull life in a mansion resembling a prison.

But on my wedding day, I was handed over to another man—an even more ruthless Lord that my family hated. Tyson Riley Crawford only wanted me for his revenge. I’m nothing more than a debt to be paid. I didn’t have a say in the

matter. So when I said my vows before the congregation, I knew I’d break them. Consequences be damned.

Too bad I underestimated my husband and didn’t realize he was more determined to punish me than I was to succeed at escaping. He’ll make me choke on those words I used to bind myself to him.

Yet even he couldn’t have seen what our future held. Ultimately, we’re all just pawns in a game that none of us can win unless you’re willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice … and even that may not be enough.

Author: Cathryn Fox
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Tropes: Grumpy-Sunshine/Small Town
Release Date: March 6, 2023
BLURB
“If you liked Crazy Rich Asians, you’re going to LOVE Crazy Apologetic Canadians!”
I take one look at the grumpy Brit and know I’m in trouble. Not because he’s in Nova Scotia to tear down our beloved amusement park. Or because he wants to build an elite school on the lush property.
No, I’m in trouble because Colin Parker is superlicious – despite the stick up his British bum.
You see, I’m a free-spirited girl who knows her way around a lobster boat. He’s a rule follower who knows his way around a boardroom. Can you say polar opposites?
Oh, did I mention his mother is back in England planning his marriage? The sexy Brit with a debutante makes sense, right?
You know what doesn’t make sense? The two of us between the sheets and a montage of fun activities that finally put a smile on his face. But when the montage ends, and life turns messy and complicated—yet we still manage to find common ground—it leads me to believe we’re not so different after all.
Until he does the one thing that proves me wrong and I’m forced to make a decision I thought I’d never have to make.

“You can take the front. Sounds like you two have a lot of catching up to do, and I’d like to check my emails,” he replies.
“Suit yourself.” Emily flips the seat forward, and gestures for him to climb into the back. He puts one leg onto the floor of the back seat, pushes forward and grunts. I’m about to circle the car, but notice he’s not moving, or grunting. I’m not even sure he’s breathing. Great, I think we’ve killed him. We certainly have the motive. As I glance around, and contemplate on how to hide, or even move, the body, a loud groan reverberates through the near empty parking garage.
“Violet.”
“Yeah.”
“I’m…stuck.”
I admire his perfect ass, wedged between the back seat and the frame of my car. “Um, do you want me to push?”
“I think maybe you should pull.”
I take in the angle of his body and consider the logistics. “What do you want me to pull?” Emily chuckles beside me and I nudge her with my elbow. “Stop it.”
“Ow,” she complains.
I glare at her. “You’re not helping.”
She snaps her gum, enjoying this entirely too much. “What am I supposed to do?”
“I don’t know. Go around the other side and push on his head.”
“I thought that’s what he wanted you to pull.”
“Ohmigod!” She grins, clearly proud of her quick-witted sexual innuendo. “Do you want to walk home?”
The car rocks as he tries to free himself, and I pray to God he hasn’t heard Emily, or think in any way that I want to pull his…anything.
Emily drops her gum back into her purse. “Fine.”
She circles the car, and I step up to him. “I’m going to put my hands on your hips and pull, okay?”
“Yes, I believe that will work.”
Pity once again hits me. The man is obviously embarrassed. The British are so stiff—do not think about head and stiff.
Dammit, I’m thinking about it.
Let me try that again. The British are stoic and reserved, and this must be mortifying. Then again, maybe he’s none of those things. People have misconceptions about Canadians too. Yeah, okay, it’s true. We’re ridiculously nice and overly apologetic. Sue me.
As he struggles, I take a fast second and consider drawing this out, letting him wallow in his embarrassment. I mean he is here to destroy our town, but because I only have one mean bone in my body—you did just hear me say we were ridiculously nice right—and I might need to use it later, I put my hand on his sides, and brace my pelvis against his rear.
Oh my.
I glance over my shoulder and pray no one is watching. The last thing I want to be accused of is bum-fucking some Brit in the back of my car. I’m not looking to cause an international incident here. I suppose I could just tell them I’m trying to remove a stick that’s lodged deep. That’s more believable, anyway.

Excerpt

“Do you think he’s going to kill you? I know the man seems scary but he’s not. The key with Big Tag is to give as good as you get. Like fight his sarcasm with sarcasm. When he asks how my broom ride in was, I smile and ask him if he rode in on the back of a brontosaurus from his age. I know that sounds harsh, but it made him laugh, and now we’re cool. I spent the first couple of weeks terrified by him, thinking he was this big bully, but he’s actually the sweetest guy.” The words had been said with a slightly husky feminine tone, and when he turned, sure enough there was a woman. A young woman who looked like she’d walked off the pages of a goth comic book. She was petite, a good foot shorter than him, with two purple pig tails, and she liked black. She had on a black miniskirt with sparkly suspenders over a black button-up. Dark green leggings and combat boots completed the look. She was absolutely nothing like the two types of women he’d been surrounded by the last decade of his life. Military women who kept things neat and clean and practical, or the sophisticated crowd he’d run in when he’d been a spy. Women who were polished and thought out every single word they said and action made. The first he would have nodded and made some simple conversation with. The second he would spend some time figuring out to ensure they weren’t here to spy on him. He had absolutely no idea what to do with the woman in front of him. “Uh, I don’t think he’s going to kill me.” She was weirdly fascinating. And just plain weird. She had a messenger bag over her shoulder, and the wide strap was decorated with a bunch of buttons, one which proclaimed her the Mistress of Code. She seemed to like code and the color green since she had a big button with the words I Always Play Green and some weird figure on it. “Confident. I like it. Are you a client or a new hire?” She gasped as she seemed to think of something. “Or a new vendor? Because if you are trying to sell the big guy anything that’s not a lemon tart, he might kill you. We should rethink this.” It was her smile that did it. A small uptick of lips that let him know she was fucking with him and probably fucked with every guy in her life. Not in a “I’m looking to screw you over, take your secrets, and then probably murder you on the way out the door” way he’d gotten used to. In the “I don’t take life too seriously” way. Like the women he’d been friends with in college. The ones he’d been comfortable with in another lifetime. In the life he’d had before he’d so brutally destroyed everything around him. He should walk away from this woman. He was toxic, and his world for so long had been blood and secrets and death. She wouldn’t even know how to walk in his world. She also wasn’t his type. The last thing he needed was even a casual flirtation. “I’m the new guy.” He held out a hand. “Name’s Kyle Hawthorne. I’m starting in the bodyguard unit today.” She was completely harmless. It wouldn’t hurt to talk to the cute goth chick while he was here. He wouldn’t be here forever. He was giving this two months tops. That should be enough time to satisfy his family and the higher-ups at the CIA that he wasn’t going to do something dangerous. And then he would go do something dangerous. She reached out, that smile turning into something truly glorious. Her black-tinged lips spread and showed even white teeth, but it was the way that smile lit up her eyes that made him pause. “MaeBe.” Oh, she was playing with fire because for the first time in months he felt his groin tighten as he took her hand in his and felt an actual fucking spark that probably wasn’t static electricity. He couldn’t help the way his own lips curled up, and the words that flowed out of his mouth could have come from his twenty-year-old self. “Maybe? I would say that’s a little presumptuous of you, but I think I’ll go with it.”

“You know there’s another option,” Chastity said as we finished another box of wine.

I’d been finishing a lot of boxes of wine recently.

“Don’t you say it.” I clenched my jaw. I knew exactly who she was going to say. Tanner’s best friend. The one man on this earth I was more embarrassed around than Dr. Lyons. And that was really saying something because I’d tried to rape Dr. Lyons.

Chastity opened her mouth.

“Don’t you freaking say it!”

“Matthew Caldwell.”

“No! We don’t even know for sure that they’re friends!”

“I looked into it. He’s definitely the Matt from Tanner’s phone. We both saw how Nigel reacted to me asking about him.”

I shook my head.

“And honestly, maybe this is for the best. You can’t date Tanner if he’s friends with Matt. You wouldn’t be able to handle it.”

“Yes I could! I’d do anything for Tanner.”

“Anything?”

“Of course.”

“Got you. So if you won’t see Dr. Lyons, then you can at least contact Matt. End of discussion.”

“I can’t talk to Matt or Dr. Lyons.”

“You just said you’d do anything. And we’ve been searching for months. Matt is our last option. Trust me, I wouldn’t mention him if it wasn’t dire.”

“I can’t.”

“Ash, Matt’s dick is fine. I’m sure he forgives you for setting it on fire.”

“No man forgives a girl for something like that.” Although it did kind of seem like Matt had forgiven me. The few times I’d run into him after the incident he’d been perfectly kind. Too kind. He was probably luring me into a false sense of security while he put his case together to sue me for all I’m worth.

“He has reservations in half an hour at that new restaurant with all the rave reviews. Get dressed. We’re going.”

Genre: Standalone Romantic Comedy
Trope: Opposites Attract
Release Date: January 20, 2023
BLURB
Surely nobody has ever met their great love while using duct tape to pull cactus needles out of their girl parts on a mountain trail.
Except I just did.
Let me tell you about Axel Pickle.
He’s a bronzed god.
Totally outdoorsy.
Worth half a billion after selling his nature app.
And he hikes naked.
He showed up in nothing but his hiking boots when I ran shrieking onto his private property after peeing on a prickly pear and being unable to put my pants back on.
We’ve been staring at each other’s private parts from the moment we first laid eyes on each other.
But I can’t date him.
I shouldn’t even talk to him.
And why he’s showing up at the hotel deli where I work, volunteering to slice the salami is a mystery to me.
I’m running from a terrible situation, and I need to keep my head down and avoid the world.
But something about the way Axel looks at me gets under my skin.
And this time, no duct tape in the world can yank the hooks he’s set in my wary, introverted soul.
__
Tasty Pickle is a full-length standalone rom com about the most charming, witty, completely useless hunk of man-meat ever to nature walk au naturel, a skeptical, purposefully underachieving deli worker, and the ghost pepper pickle relish that brings them together with a kiss so fiery that it ends up requiring medicated lip gloss.
It is part of the bestselling Pickleverse, but you do not need to read any other books before this one. You can start your outrageous adventure into the world of the Pickles right here.

EXCERPT
First, I was forced on a hike by my employer.
Then, I got tired and slowed down for like fifteen seconds and somehow lost the group.
Then, I got pelted with nuts by maniac squirrels with a grudge.
I ran in the direction where I thought the group was headed and lost the trail completely.
Of course, I had no cell signal.
Of course.
Just like a horror movie.
I started stress-drinking Gatorade.
Then, I had to pee.
So, I popped a squat.
Apparently on a cactus hidden in the brush.
Tiny spines attached to my girl parts.
And now, I’m on my back, my cactus-impaled vajajay flashing in the sun, my yellow daisy underwear caught on my ankle.
I would like very much to be eaten by a mountain lion.
I can think of nothing else to do, so I close my eyes, lay my head in the dirt, and wish for death.
Then something nudges my shoe.
Uggh.
I ignore it.
Nudge.
No. I’m dead. Death has become me.
Nudge.
“Hey.”
Someone is here. Great.
I open one eye in a squint. A man stands over me like a bronzed god, wearing a backpack, a neckerchief, and hiking boots. And nothing else.

Blog Tour – Tempting the Neighbor by Ashley Muñoz

I was in a world of homeowner hell.

Tempting the Neighbor, an all-new heat-filled enemies-to-lovers small-town standalone romance in the Mount Macon Series from bestselling author Ashley Munoz is live now!

Tempting the Neighbor

Becoming a homeowner is not all it’s cracked up to be, let me tell you that right now. Especially in the dead of winter, when apparently trees can just fall in the middle of a suburban neighborhood.

Did my next-door neighbor help me remove said tree?

No, he did not…

And I asked while rocking bedhead, the world’s puffiest coat, and ugly snow boots.

So, really…he left me no choice.

I broke into his house.

While I only intended to steal a little warmth and maybe a cup of coffee, I fell victim to his jacuzzi tub.

Unfortunately for me, he returned early and that’s really when things got weird.

Instead of a cold glare or icy reply, all of which I fully expected from my disagreeable neighbor.

Colson Hanes offered to make me breakfast.

Then he asked me to stay…

At the end of the hall was a closed door, which of course I opened because what if

Colson was secretly hiding dead bodies. If more people would be nosy, I was positive more

crimes would be solved.

But as soon as that door cracked, my eyes rounded, and my jaw hung loose.

It wasn’t the massive king-size bed, with no feathers or silk in sight, that got me. It

wasn’t his elaborate record collection or his deep-set leather chair that faced his backyard, or the

billion-inch television mounted on the wall. No, what had me fully arrested was the soaking tub

in his bathroom, complete with jets and a soft pillow neck rest.

The urge to relax and let the stress of the morning slip away was too strong to resist.

I let out a sigh, tugged off my shirt and whispered, “Come to Mama.”

The man had shower gel that I used as bubble bath, it smelled woodsy with a blend of

spice that made me groan, and I managed to find exactly three candles under his bathroom sink.

They were a part of an emergency kit, but whatever. With the few candles, bath gel, and

steaming hot water, I stripped. The warm air was like velvet against my bare skin as I tossed my

pajamas to the side.

Once the tub was full, I turned off the faucet and hissed as my toe plunged into the water.

“Perfect.”

I sighed, lowering the rest of my body into the steam.

As I soaked, I closed my eyes and began a deep breathing routine.

I counted slowly, feeling my lungs expand and wisps of my hair float around my head. I

didn’t usually like getting my curls wet, but it also felt too good not to plunge under. Right as I

counted to eighteen, I shoved back through the surface of the water.

“What. The fuck. Nora?!” a loud, angry voice boomed from somewhere off to my left.

My heart flipped inside my chest; my lungs still burned from holding my breath. My eyes

were still closed because I hadn’t rubbed the water out of them yet, but now I was apprehensive

about opening them.

I didn’t need to see, to know it was Colson standing there, witnessing me taking a bath in

his house. Naked.

Oh. My. God.

I was currently naked.

I let out a small animalistic sound and ducked back under the water, as if that could hide

me. Until I realized most of the bubbles had dissipated because shower gel was not bubble bath.

Fuck.

I resurfaced right as I heard him speak again.

“Do you want to explain to me what in the hell you’re doing here?”

Finally, I pressed my fingers into my closed eyes to wipe away the water and slowly slid

my gaze to the mirror, which reflected a menacing form. Leaning against the door frame, with

crossed arms and a scowl on his handsome face, Colson glared.

But what would I even say? How did I come back from this?

“Look…” I swallowed thickly, keeping my eyes on him through the mirror. My arms

were crossed over my breasts, and I brought my knees up for extra coverage. “If you feel the

need to press charges, please let me explain myself first.”

His hand came up, tunneling through his messy blond hair. The beanie he’d worn earlier

was gone, so were his shoes and jacket, now he stood in thick jeans and a soft T-shirt. I hated

how badly I wanted to run my fingers along the stretchy material and rub it against my face when

he wasn’t looking. It looked so soft.

“I never said anything about pressing charges, Nora. All I asked was for you to explain

yourself, so please…” He held his hand out as if I should continue.

Right.

My sopping curls frizzed as I sat in the water, watching him in the mirror.

“I have no power at my house…no coffee or way to make breakfast…” I was totally

hoping for empathy from him, but his face was made of stone, completely unmoving, so I pushed

on. “I just planned to steal a little heat and some coffee, but then I saw your tub.”

His head tilted the slightest bit. “And how is it that you found my tub?”

I puckered my brow at the reminder of his closed door.

“Yeah, about that…why leave your door shut when no one else lives here?”

He inclined his head as if to challenge me.

“Why would you assume that no one else lives here?”

Oh, shit…why would I assume that?

“Colson, I’m so sorry. I have no idea what came over me, let me just get up and I’ll

leave.”

It’s a delicate balancing act, with many obstacles and no guarantee of success. Carter has spent years planning his takeover and knowing who to trust is impossible.

ASHLEY

Jase stalls on the step above me as Mom and Ares continue to the upper level where Ares’s, Chad’s, and my bedrooms are. “What’s wrong?” he asks, turning to face me.

“You need to sleep down here,” I say, leaning against the banisters as I try not to let the crestfallen look on his face get to me.

“I don’t expect anything, Ash, but I want to stay with you. To make sure you’re okay.”

“I’ll be fine. I have already taken pain meds, and I’ll just set my alarm to wake me every few hours.”

He folds his arms across his broad chest as his emerald eyes peer into mine. “I know I hurt you and I need to make it up to you. I know it’s not as easy as me saying I’m sorry or that I was trying to protect you. But please don’t shut me out. You are injured, and someone should stay with you.”

“I’ll stay with her.” Ares’s gruff voice echoes from above.

I look up, spotting him hanging back on the top step.

I expect Jase to argue. There is little love lost between those two. But he surprises me.

He fixes his gaze on Ares. “Make sure you wake her every four hours. And come get me if there are any issues during the night.”

Ares equally surprises me when he nods agreeably.

Jase pulls me into a tender hug. Pressing his warm lips to my ear, he whispers, “I love you, Temptress. Whatever you need, I will give you.”

Tears stab my eyes at his words. I know what this must be costing him. “I love you too,” I whisper, stretching up to kiss his cheek. “But that doesn’t magically solve all our issues.”

“I know.” The look of adoration on his face as he tucks stray strands of pink hair behind my ears is almost enough to change my mind. “We need to talk about a lot of things.”

I bob my head as I extract myself from his embrace and move around him. “Yeah, we do. Night, Jase. Sleep well.”

“Night, baby.”
