I was pleasantly shocked, in so many good ways, that I can hardly wait for the second part of this fun, steamy, amazing book!!

June first meets Lachlan, Jake and Ryan after she is humiliated by her long time boyfriend when she proposes to him on the Jumbotron at a Titans hockey game. It’s at this same moment that she simultaneously finds out he’s been cheating on her with her best friend. Lachlan, Jake and Ryan see this all go down and invite June to celebrate their win. While it would normally seem quick, the storyline actually all makes sense when it happens, so trust the process. ❤️

Getting to know each guy, or actually I’m going to say separating Jake and Ryan took a bit of time, at least for me. Lachlan was easier just given his Scottish accent and the fact that he is the goalie, but once I got to know them, and I do mean all of them 😏 it was easier to separate who was who.

These three guys are teammates, best friends, and roommates. Yes, they share living space and on occasion a willing woman for an evening. That’s not to say that when it feels right one of them hasn’t dated long term before, or at least Lachy or Jake have, Ryan is a different story, but when none of them are in a long term committed relationship and the timing is right…these three know how to burn up the sheets with one lucky lady. 🥵

That lucky lady happens to be June Summers, 😂 yes she understands the redundancy of her name June is sweetly awkward, while also being sassy and bold. I adored all sides of June and could see why three gorgeous men fell for her so easily. She also has so many accidental mishaps, but she doesn’t let it get her down in the dumps. She is sunshine in a cup and I just wanted to drink her down.

This book super steamy and so much fun that I want to start at the beginning, meet the characters for the first time again and read it all over.

Permanently Pucked is filled with laughter, emotions, and lots of steamy why-choose romance ❤️😍 It was the perfect story to round out this amazing cast of characters that I’ve come to care about sooooo much. Dani, Nathan, Michael and Crew have made a permanent place in my heart and I had to slow down my reading at times because I just didn’t want this book to end.

From the very beginning Dani, Nathan, Michael, and Crew have just gelled together flawlessly. Never once was there a question of someone not fitting with Dani, although there may have been times where they needed to figure out how to work together as a team, but when it came to their center, their glue, Dani held these three guys in the palm of her hand and just when things got settled a little one popped into the equation. A baby to love, to share, to raise between three dads and one mom. This special moment couldn’t have been better.

There would more to figure out than just living arrangements this time around and a baby was definitely going to change their lives. But before the little one comes along…there is a little thing called marriage. And speaking of marriage…🥵the dirty talk and role play is hotter than ever. This may be book four but Cookie and Co. is naughtier and spicier than ever!!

While I’m really going to miss these four I get the feeling this might not be the last we’ll see from the Racketeers. 😉 At least I can hope. 🙏😂

Review:
There is nothing better than laughing while reading a Pippa Grant book and I did a ton of it while reading Until It Was Love.

This book brought forth all forms of laughter as all of the characters were fun and funny, and just darn likable. The mustache jokes are hilarious. I mean, spot on, laugh out loud funny. 🤣 Seriously…prepare to get your laugh on.

Fletcher Huxley has recently returned to the states to play rugby for the Pounders. On top of his ridiculous mustache, he pretty much never leaves the house without the name of his team somewhere upon his insanely muscled body. He’s proud of representing his sport and it shows. He’s lived and breathed Rugby pretty much his whole life and his new team needs some help. So when an  opportunity arises to get more social media presence, he asks Goldie Collins for help.

Goldie not only knows Fletcher because he plays professional rugby, but he plays with her brother on the same team. Goldie is a life coach and has helped many successful people through life transitions, career opportunities, etc…she is the eternal optimist and while she’d love to see more people enjoying her brothers team, she also isn’t sure she wants to help due to the first time they met, it wasn’t a sunshiny experience. Yes, she’s a walking contradiction, but eventually getting back at her brother wins out, which means helping Fletcher wins. She’s extremely adorable with the best humor. I totally want to be her best friend.

Fletcher is grumpy and full of ego, but hilarious with all his egoness. I adore when a hero is manly enough to love a small animal, but will also carry his little Sweet Pea around on his chest wrapped in a pink sling. I mean it is heart-melty to the extreme 😍 and sort of softens his big ego to show his soft inner marshmallow. 💖 Fletcher may come off as grumpy but he’s actually really great.

Goldie has a seasoned girl squad that I totally want to be friends with. These ladies bring tons of light and laughter and their obituary writing alone – OMG, don’t miss it! 😂. On the opposite age spectrum is Goldie’s niece who is super sweet and amazingly easy to adore, as Fletcher finds out, and I couldn’t get enough of her sugar sweetness either.

Fletcher and Goldie together are like reading a comedy act, but they also have a lot of chemistry together. They are the full package when it comes to couples and I’m so happy to have another awesome couple living in Copper Valley.

As for this amazing town, a few beloved people pop up, but this book is a standalone in its own right. It’s another Pippa hit and I really enjoyed it from cover to cover!

While he might have the good kind of thunder thighs, intriguing tattoos, and a booty of steel, he also holds the top position on my very short nemesis list thanks to what happened the first time we met.

Plus, his mustache is as terrible as the reason he’s picked me to be the woman he wants to date.

But he has one big checkmark in the why this date is a good idea column: he’s my brother’s new teammate.

They already hate each other.

And my brother has made an unfortunate habit of interfering with my love life recently.

So a revenge date with Fletcher to make my brother mad? While letting Fletcher think this date is merely for the good of the team?

I’m in.

I’m moving to London for work in a month. And it’s just one date. What could possibly go wrong?

Just for a frame of reference; Millie is Eleanor’s best friend (from Knot So Lucky) who also knows Samantha (from Tangled in Tinsel). While The Tweedles are best friends with Crew and might know some of Sam’s men too if memory serves. It’s a big why-choose happy family within this world. 😍

Anyway…Millie hasn’t had the best luck at love, case in point, she’s currently on vacation sulking because her ex was caught cheating, but that is just the tip of her crap sundae. Thank goodness for two very hot men who step up and help out. These three pull off a fake dating scheme that even has their best friends convinced it’s more all while lifting Millie’s spirits as well. I mean who wouldn’t feel better when getting worshipped by two hotties…am I right😉

Emma Foxx has done it again and I’ve fallen in love with another quad-rouple😍❤️😍❤️ I don’t even care if that’s not a word because I’m head-over-heels smitten for Luna, Owen, Cameron, and Alexsei!

Luna McNeil is familiar with complicated relationships. Her best friend, Dani, is currently in one with three men, one being her own brother, and while Luna wouldn’t mind one-night of rolling in the sheets with one, or a few, hot guys, she isn’t looking for romance. So after she spends a few nights with the hot hockey player, Alexsei Ryan, and his hot, grumpy roommate, Cameron Bach, she figures she’s lived out her fantasies and gotten it out of her system, but those hot guys have different ideas, especially when another player comes into the picture.

Alexsei Ryan is…what is even more devoted and happy than a golden retriever…whatever that is it’s Alexsei. He’s the sun’s intensity of happiness and devotion and I was hooked from the very beginning. He’s the biggest cinnamon roll hero I think I’ve ever read. He’s full of easy going joy and to see him sad, even in the slightest, I totally understand why Cam and Luna always want to reverse it as soon as they can. However, because he can’t has zero impulse control he needs Cameron’s structure and grumpiness to tone down his spoiling ways. Their dynamic is super sweet, super hot, and just perfect!😍

Now, as for Cameron…Luna is one of the few, aside from Alexsei, that understand him. Luna has a great sassy banter with Cameron on a continual basis throughout the entire book and let me tell you…when those two spar they spark.

Lastly, we have Owen Phillips who is sweetly awkward, but also amazingly hot. He’s a single dad, a coach, a skilled lover and obsessed with Luna. Is there a carbon copy of Owen running around, send him my way please. 🙏 He stirs things up, down and sideways when it comes to the trio, to Luna, to everything and makes things blaze in the every possible way.

Actually, all three men ignite Luna in different ways, but the one thing they all have in common is that they don’t use her to get to her brother, Crew. Luna has spent her life living in his shadow, but these men let her shine on her own. 🥹 They don’t put her down about being successful because each of them are already successful in their own right, and they also are all a little bit sweet on her sweets. 😉

This book is fun, blazing hot, full of more emotion than I was expecting and I loved the entire story and can’t wait for more of this fantastic writing duo!!!

Returning to Happy Haven, this time for Maren’s story, I once again returned to lots of laugh-out-loud fun stirred together with lots of steamy moments. It was the best combination to read.

Maren was instrumental in pursuing the slumlord who let Happy Haven Trailer Park fall into ruin. Now that the lawsuit has been won and the owner has to lawfully make the changes, on top of staying on site to oversee them himself, Maren is tickled pink the day has finally arrived. She is bold, brazen, and doesn’t back down from anything, especially with Cooper Addington Junior. While she’s taken aback that Cooper is super hot and not a cranky old man, she isn’t about to let Cooper’s hotness stand in her way of getting things fixed. Her take charge personality is one reason she won the lawsuit, but it’s also why Cooper can’t look away.

Cooper Junior inherited his father’s money, his properties, and his problems, but Cooper is nothing like his father. When he arrives at Happy Haven he digs right in and wants to help, but soon realizes that he also needs help to solve years worth of neglect and issues. Maren knows everyone and is his best lead, plus she doesn’t take grief, which he likes. These two have chemistry in spades, which is hot to witness, as Maren loves to verbally spar with him which lights his internal fire.

While Maren and Cooper blaze on the page with their romance, all of the secondary characters are a gem and add sparkle to the story. It’s also funny and loving and a really great series so far. I love this world where the women have strong thoughts and ideas, but it doesn’t emasculate the men either. I love a man who appreciates a strong woman and especially who doesn’t get embarrassed by her strength. The Happy Haven series also contains a colorful cast, which enriches the storyline and doesn’t take away from it, which makes for a very pleasurable read.  ❤️

Get Him Back is definitely a slow burn, second chance romance that brings a lot of mushy heart vibes intermixed between silly laugh out loud moments.

First off, Sadie’s work environment resurfaced a lot of memories from my past work history where I was overlooked, overworked, and underappreciated for all of the extra tasks I was assigned. It was sometimes hard to watch Sadie be undervalued for half of the book. I honestly had no idea that after so many years it could be so difficult to see it spelled out on paper, but there it is.

Perhaps the pivotal moment I loved best was when Sadie was able to speak her mind, letting Jack know how much damage he did beginning in college leading up to the present. To sum up…there is always a beginning thread that begins to unravel us; creating our quirks, our core personalities and it isn’t often that we get to confront or even tell the person who pulled that first thread and began the hole in the fabric of who we become, if you will. Sadie never says anything about being less to those around her, she hates standing up for herself and a lot of those self-doubt feelings go back to those college days. Those feelings of never being enough for someone like Jack and the moment she was able to speak her truth…I even felt vindicated.

This book is of course a second chance romance…so of course the even better part of this story is that when Sadie told Jack he also listened. This is the point in the book I sat up and took notice.

This man, who didn’t appreciate Sadie, for reasons, is all about letting her shine. He’s a man who can excel on his own merit and loves when those around him excel too. There is nothing sexier than that. He isn’t afraid to admit he was wrong and he wants to make amends, plus he wants Sadie to shine. That’s fantastic boyfriend quality right there.

Get Him Back wasn’t what I was expecting, but in some ways the differences were freshing. In others, yes, I miss the quirky Coralee books I’ve read before, but this new path she’s taken is still a good book at the end of the day. Did it also take just a little bit to fall into their groove, just a touch, but that is why I went with 4.5 stars vs. a full 5.

Imagine a dirty Christmas romcom movie, then TMI checked all the boxes with this book in that genre. It includes holiday shenanigans, a small town curmudgeon, the best dirty fantasies turned real life and super steamy, best friends to lovers, and great secondary characters. TMI is the the perfect holiday book to kick off the Christmas season.

This is a new holiday story from McAdam, Birk, and Ember, the writing trio that loves bringing trios together at the holiday time. TMI is a story that brings two long-time best friends even closer and heals some old wounds from their B&B guest while he’s there to write a story about the Holiday-Off, a holiday competition between two small Vermont towns and the hot mayor, who also happens to be a fireman, that is under fire for said competition. 🤣 I can’t help myself with a good pun.

Zeke and Doug have been friends since their childhood, whereas Max grew up in a town nearby. Max isn’t exactly excited to be back in Vermont, as he was bullied as a child, but he does love his job and the thought of interviewing two hot firefighters certainly lights his fire. Luckily he’ll be staying with two dreamy firemen, it’s basically fulfilling one of his hot fantasies, but all dreaming aside, once Max sets aside his childhood trauma he becomes the flint to set the fire on some very big pieces of wood.😉 I literally can’t help myself.🤣

Doug and Zeke may have always been best friends and even done basically everything thing together, but Zeke has been holding a secret for a very long time, he harbors feelings for Doug and its not until Max enters their lives that his truth actually spills out, and then shockingly once that fire is lit, it’s hard to put out, making for one hot Christmas. I’m sorry, I’ll try to stop.

And…the fantasies…my, oh my…Max sure knows how to get Doug and Zeke talking and going for TMI. I loved it because that is my modus operandi 🤣 I try to warn people I have no filter, but that TMI usually just comes running right out. 😉 Hence, I loved Max and his open loving heart and total lack of filter. He may not have known Zeke or Doug long, but sometimes you just know when you meet someone and that person fits so easily into your life and they just make everything better. Max is the jelly in their peanut butter sandwich, he is the bridge that connects their paths, he just fits and slides…wink, wink…perfectly between them. If you couldn’t tell, this new book is full of fun, holiday spirit, and steamy good times.  Well…I tried.

With a wink and a nod to all three authors in Doug’s last name of McEmbirk and of course the obvious listing of the authors names on the cover, TMI contains the best fusion of writing talent. Honestly, if there weren’t three names listed on the book cover, I wouldn’t know this book was written by three individual people, with that being said, I really hope this isn’t the last we see of McEmbirk😉 and that they continue writing together.

Review – Where It Begins by Helena Hunting

This book was super cute and I loved being back in the Pucked world, pre- Pucked, if that makes sense. Meeting  young Vi and Miller was a total trip and I adored their relationships with both of their parents, Sidney and Skye.

Now, let’s get to Sidney and Skye, basically they are amazing!! Skye is the grown-up version of Violet; sweet, a bit awkward, and super smart. What’s not to love since Violet is one of my all time favorite characters. Skye is a single mom, an accountant, and raising a teenage Violet who is brilliant in her own rights. Skye falls for Sidney slowly and then sort of all at once, but I adored how she thought of Violet about her decision the entire way.

Sidney is a hockey fanatic, he’s a hockey scout, so not a player, but heavily involved within the world and raising his teenage son, Miller also known as Buck. Sidney looks like the older version of his son, and he’s a total sweetheart. He’s been raising his son alone, he’s a widower, sorry for that bit of spoiler since I didn’t remember that bit from Pucked myself, but he’s a great dad and the way he treats Skye, I was a total goner. He too factored his son into dating and it only made him hotter!!

We also get insight from both Vi and Miller, which was great! Did I mention I loved this book…cause, hello…total love…, anyway…Where Violet is brainy and somewhat has her life together, because she has her sights set on the future, Miller is a bit of a dude-bro even though he’s extremely talented with hockey. Again, I loved visiting these two as teens since I’ve gotten to know them as adults and already entrenched in their careers. Their perspectives on their parents is cute, and then when they first meet…loved it!!

So, even for readers who haven’t picked up the Pucked series, honestly, just finding the similarly between raising kids and finding time to date, whether you’re married or not, as a parent myself finding alone time with your partner is almost impossible, so this book hit just right. I loved this whole story and could have read a ton more.

I accidentally grabbed the wrong drink at the coffee shop. On the upside, the hot guy it belonged to chased me down to kindly swap with me. On the down side, the reason I grabbed the wrong drink in the first place is because the hot guy had just caught me checking out his ass…sets.

In my defense, his rear view is rather magnificent.

In true, humiliating form, I word-vomited a bunch of horrible nonsense. Including an unnecessary explanation of the trauma I’d evaded thanks to his chasing me down. Nothing could ruin my lactose-intolerant day faster than my one true dairy.

I did not expect him to ask me out on a date after that.

I also didn’t expect the date to go well since my tendency to truth-vomit is high, and not everyone finds that quality endearing.

But apparently he does. Because he asks me out again.
And again.

Sidney Butterson (yes, it’s a weird last name) ticks all my boxes.
He’s smart, he’s funny, he’s employed and he’s ridiculously hot.
There’s one catch.

We’re both single parents. With teens.

And if our kids don’t like each other?
Well, we’re doomed.
