Review/Synopsis:

Review:
There are lots of different tropes and levels of steam contained within this anthology, but I chose to read Wicked Kisses by Debra St. James.

This was the first story I’ve read by Debra and I’m definitely going to read her again. Wicked Kisses was well written, engaging, and filled with the perfect chemistry and steam for a short story. I can’t wait to read a longer book because I didn’t want this one to end.

Sophie is a young woman looking to start a new job, for the first time, at a tattoo shop. She’s a brilliant artist, a graduate with a fine arts degree, but now she wants to put that degree to practical use. She faces several problems; One, she currently lives with her father who is very religious and doesn’t believe in tattoos. Two, she’s only drawn on paper never inked on skin and three, shes highly attracted to the owner. However, if she sets all of that aside, everything should work out.😉

I don’t want to say more since it’s a quick read, but Wicked Kisses has elements of the forbidden, a workplace romance, age gap (he’s 12 years older) and it’s also a single parent romance. It has a lot of good tropes that wrapped up into one delicious read.

Lastly, I really enjoyed how the story tied in elements of the anthologies charity. That really tied everything together and hit all the feels.

Blog Tour – Not So Truly Yours by Julia Wolf

Not So Truly Yours by Julia Wolf is now live!

The first time I met Miles Aldrich, he stole my cupcakes.

The second time, I handed him a bill for what he owed me.
He’s a billionaire after all. He can afford it.

The third time we met… well, that was the biggest surprise of all. I walked into his office looking for help with a business plan. But I somehow walked out… with a fake boyfriend.

Miles claims the plan is simple: he’ll lend me his powerful family’s reputation by posing as my boyfriend. I’ll gain important contacts, and he’ll have someone by his side so he doesn’t have to make excuses for why he’s not dating anyone.

For one whole summer, Miles Aldrich is not so truly mine. The real man behind the smooth lines and flirty smiles is nothing like I assumed.

He’s sunshine in a tall, gorgeous package.

He kisses me like his life depends on it.

Logically, I know this relationship of ours isn’t real.

But the problem is… the feelings he’s bringing out in me are true as can be.

All I wanted was to save the coastal resort that has been in our family for generations.

Little did I expect the buyer would be the NHL player who my clique picked on in high school.

But when he insists he has a position for me – nanny for his little girl – I begin to understand his motives.

Revenge.

I have no idea how he plans to exact it, but I’m willing to find out if it means saving White Beach Resort.

As I wait for the ball to drop, the summer begins to slip by, and I begin to fall for the man who hates me.

Stupid, I know.

While I still haven’t discovered what he has up his sleeve, I slowly, deliciously discover what he has under his shirt, and below his belt.

Review:
Drunk On You was brilliant!! It took two strangers from instant chemistry to battling enemies to a BIG romantic love story. It’s a fantastic fusion of romantic steam with a romcom like feel and from the moment I started reading it I was drunk on Julian and Anastasia’s story!

The attraction between Julian and Anastasia never waned and holy, hot, steamy, burn up my kindle!!! This is Nikki’s hottest couple ever!!! What began as a ruse on both sides, lead to being fake engaged, and quickly turned into so much more for both Julian and Anastasia and whoa!!! What more it was. ❤️‍🔥💋😏

Yes, these two basically burned my entire kindle to pieces, but Julian is also bit of a cinnamon roll. However, don’t let his soft squishy center fool you because he’s also wrapped up in a business suit, smelling all kinds of delicious, and ready to take on Anastasia when it matters. He’s truly delicious and I loved each and every side he presented.

Julian constantly threw Anastasia for a loop, which isn’t all bad since she does the same thing to him. Anastasia is sharp, gorgeous and quick witted enough to play in a heavily dominated man’s world. It doesn’t take long for Julian to fall for his “trophy wife”. I loved how she constantly kept him on his toes. A woman designed perfectly for him and visa versa.

So while their relationship may have started as a falsehood to get to the same outcome it morphed into something neither of them expected.

Their back and forth battles while they fight for their job is legit romcom worthy 😂. And if that didn’t stir up their potent chemistry their dirty-talk during smexy times are hotter than hot. 🥵🔥 These two were so much fun to read I really didn’t want the story to ever end.

Review:
My heart, my emotions, my entire soul has been remade by reading this book. I thought I was prepared for Miles Aldrich, I totally was not! He is everything!❤️

Miles has been a favorite character of mine from the beginning of the series. He’s the flirt, the annoying little brother, the guy no one takes seriously. But there is so much more behind his outside façade and so much vulnerability that he hides behind his gorgeous smile and twinkling eyes. Miles is a deep man with big emotions and he is the perfect kind of sunshine for Daisy Dunham’s emo vibe.

“Miles had never met a stranger. He could talk to a brick wall and be happy.”

Yes, I would say Miles is perfect for Daisy who is a wonderful, stand-up force to the enigmatic man. The perfect yin to Miles’ yang. I don’t want to call her a storm cloud because she isn’t exactly gloomy, she’s just had a hard life, but not in the typical way one would think of. Daisy’s been surrounded by a loving family and has had tons of support, but there has been a perpetual storm cloud that has surrounded her life. If you couldn’t tell…I don’t want to say more without giving away her entire plot, because who she is and who her family is is a huge part of her backstory. Just know that Daisy is an amazing character and I loved her and her family.

“Everything is more fun with you.” “Literally no one has ever said that about me.”

The perfection of these two; the honesty, the friendship, the family bonding on both sides, literally everything was built so beautifully that when the emotions hit they hit hard. 😢 Both Daisy and Miles lean into one another, like I said, they fill the voids in each other in ways that soul mates do and their story was hard to put down, which lead to very late night reading.

“You’re sunshine in beautiful human form.”

Julia put her heart and soul into this book and it shows. It’s beautiful, wonderful and everything I didn’t know I needed from Miles Aldrich and his beautiful Daisy.

Synopsis:

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
A new series with a ton of heart and the cutest little girl that will win over hearts with her lumpy pancake wishes.

Brighton White needs help with her failing resort and Noah Jones he needs help with his four year old daughter, Camryn. While these two people have known each other since childhood they did not hang out in the same social circles. Brighton was in the popular group, while Noah…I’ll just say, wasn’t. And while Noah did grow into his body and become a famous NHL player he still has his humility and is pretty down to earth.  So while Brighton was actually a popular girl and ran with the crowd that used to pick on Noah before he grew into his body and looks, she’s a woman who is more humbled from her life’s experiences and now appreciates what life has given her. Is she a bit leery of Noah when he first arrives on the scene…for sure, but Noah is the same given his past around her. However, there is a lot of great banter and growing pains between the two of them as they figure out their new world.

“I’m not sure you heard, but I’m his nanny now.” “Oh, really. does that mean you get to spank him when he’s naughty.”

On top of the new dynamic, there are also a lot of sweet daddy-daughter moments which also roll into a lot of sweet nanny-little girl moments too. Camryn Jones is big part of the plot, really a big reason and motivation for why Noah does a lot of what he does in this book, I mean who wouldn’t want to do everything they can for their sweet little girl, but the other huge motivator in Noah’s life is Brighton. At Noah’s core he’s a protector, a nurturer, and he wants to help her, so it’s hard not to like him. Not one little bit.

Once Brighton eases into what’s happening to her family resort, she is a much more engaging character and very easy to like as well. The grass isn’t always greener when someone grew up with privilege and Brighton eases us into that view of loneliness to which gives Noah the opening he needs to view her with new eyes.

This is a mature hockey series, where the men are established in their careers and all of the stakes are higher. Cathryn Fox did an excellent job of beginning a new hockey series that covers topics like family, careers, living arrangements, you know…all of those adulting things…like bills-yuck, LOL – basically everything carries more weight and it shows.

Synopsis:

He’s a Fixer, but she’s his insatiable fix…

After I pull a fast one in her Las Vegas courtroom, prosecutor Jillian Diamond gets drunk in a bar and gives me a piece of her mind. But we settle the score tangled in the sheets, where I show her I’m even better in the bedroom than the courtroom.Only, to my surprise, I’m her first.

That changes everything, releasing a side of me I don’t know how to control.

Obsessed doesn’t begin to describe my behavior when I find a dating app on her phone and men in her DMs who want what I just got.

I will keep her from touching another man by wearing a mask to give her the fantasies she craves.

Don’t ask me how I know what her fantasies are.
Or how I get into her locked apartment.
Or how I spy on her through my phone.

She has no idea the attorney she hates and loves mouthing off to during the day is the same man driving her crazy at night.

Watching her.
Manipulating her.
Obsessing over her.

But with every touch, I’m slowly unraveling, risking everything for one more taste of my diamond in the rough.

When my enemy targets her, I’m ready to burn down this entire city because Jillian belongs to me.

And no one touches what’s mine.

Review:
Ivy Fox promised heat and angst and oh-my-overheated-cheeks and overworked heart agree with her!! Power Play Rivals had both my panties in flames and my heart in knots. What a fantastic ride!

Trent Nichols and Piper Lee begin the story with explosive heat. I’m talking fireworks on the fourth of July type of intensity. They banter, they squabble, they fall into bed, and their chemistry never wains. However, do these two jump into a relationship…heavens no, because neither of them recognize their feelings…at least right away 😉. I mean, who wants that since banter is the best foreplay and then when the moment hits – BAM 💥 like a bull in a china shop, my heart nearly exploded. But until that moment strikes these two battle like it’s life and death. It’s glorious to read, although, at moments also quite angsty.

There are some very cute secondary characters that sort of play cupid, that ironically enough aren’t Lottie, Piper’s best friend who is a matchmaker. Rex, the hockey team owner, and Caleb the young goalie. They both have their inspiring and funny moments which made them quite endearing.

The entire book is great and while it could be read as a standalone, is best read in series order for the best reading enjoyment.

Synopsis:

Never fall in love with a client

Just one of the many guidelines you must follow when you represent the best athletes in the game.

The rule never bothered me.

A pretty smile from a cocky player couldn’t do it for me anyway.

As a no-nonsense sports agent, I’ve seen it all in this cutthroat world of athletic negotiations and powerplays, and say what you will about me, I know how to handle business.

The only person who pretends I’m not a freaking badass is Trent Nichols, the infuriating, albeit sexy-as-all-hell, Boston Guardians general manager.

With his dark eyes and even darker soul, Trent doesn’t bend to my will like the rest of them, which is a problem.

Especially since one of my hockey players is under threat of suspension.

That can’t happen. Not on my watch.

If Trent wants to play hardball, I’m more than happy to give him a run for his money.

I’ll show him what a real rival looks like.

And who knows? Maybe I’ll have a little bit of fun too.

While the first law of being a good agent is to never fall for a client, there’s no written rule that says I can’t mess around with their boss behind closed doors.

This is the second standalone novel in the interconnected Puckered Hearts series.

One New Year’s masquerade. One anonymous hookup. One billionaire-sized mistake.
Once upon a time, someone looked at my scrawny, quiet eight-year-old self and nicknamed me Mr. Important… and I believed them.
That was my first mistake.
Two decades, a dozen failed careers, and a thousand meaningless hookups later, I’ve made more mistakes than I can count. My parents have decided I’m purely decorative, my brother thinks I need pep talks, and the gorgeous billionaire who hired me as a favor to my dad? He’s forgotten I exist.
So I’m done with mistakes.
Call it my New Year’s resolution. From now on, I’m going after what I want… starting with the mysterious silver fox in the Roman warrior mask who approached me at the charity gala and offered me a scorching, anonymous one-night-stand.
Unfortunately, when our masks come off I realize mistakes are not done with me.
Because the bossy guy who blew my mind? He’d thought I was someone else. Worse than that, he’s my father’s friend. A supposedly-straight workaholic. The person I’m stuck on a road trip with for the next two weeks. And, oh yeah, my actual boss.
The farther we get from New York, the closer we become, and the harder it is to pretend I’m not falling for him. But I can’t see how someone as brilliant, controlled, and successful as Thatcher Pennington would risk everything to be with someone like me… even if he makes me feel like I’m finally Mr. Important.

Review:
Oh my heart!! All the amazing stars!! This book is so good and full of everything wonderful; warm fuzzies, heartfelt feels, blushing steamy romance, and a story where Cinderella doesn’t exactly find Prince Charming, but a broken man who becomes obsessed with his new maid. It’s chef’s 💋 perfection!

To say I’m obsessed with both Zach and Fae is an understatement. ❤️🥰 These two apart are well flushed out and very well written characters and together they explode on the page. They are yin and yang, but also two peas in a pod. I’m sorry to use two expressions in the same sentence that also mean two opposite things…let me explain. Farrow is charismatic to Zach’s robotic demeanor and yet they are both extremely intelligent, savvy, calculated, and fierce. They just haven’t had the same upbringings to allow them the same opportunities in life. It was fantastic to see the differences play out with their personalities while they navigated through this book.

Zach Sun is a cold, hard, unfeeling man, but upon meeting Farrow, for the first time in his life, he begins to feel things. To awaken from a lifetime of walking in a zombie like state. Fae is the literal walking medicine that appears to awaken him…to cure him… one touch at a time. However, Zach doesn’t “do emotions” so while their relationship builds under the contract that began with her employment under him, and of course lots of snarky quips, what they are really building is something so much more. 🔥😍🥰 The question remains if she’ll be able to leave with her heart intact once he’s cured.

Farrow has been fighting her entire life. Her spirit, her tenacity, her fire are just a few of the things Zach finds attractive in her. Along with her intelligence and strong willingness to remain independent those are just a few more. He’s drawn to Fae for everything that she is and I will admit she’s fantastic! The quirky comebacks she tosses out, the razor sharp wit she possesses when dealing with Zach is insanely hot and I have to say, there is nothing better than verbal foreplay as these two radiate towards a boiling point unlike anything I’ve ever read.

I have to add that the texting chapters, which are spread throughout the entire book, are a sprinkle of hilarious greatestness. Zach, Ollie, Romeo, Farrow, Dallas, and Ali all have the best jabs, comments, and sarcastic help 🤣 that constantly made me laugh.

While I haven’t read the first book in this series, and it’s not necessary for this book, I am now dying to go back and read it…1) I miss these characters already and 2) I simply want to read about Romeo and Dallas’ story because I need to know the tiny details.

Review:
There is no better feeling than having someone believe in you. In whatever capacity that may be; getting your life together, telling the truth, finding your identity, starting a new job, so on and so forth…just having that one person giving you hope is sometimes all it takes and Reagan and Thatcher found that in each other. This book hit more feelings than I was expecting and it was a wonderful emotional boost of hope and love that made the ride well worth reading.

Reagan is known as a lot of things; a politician’s son, a constant f-up to his mother and father, a social influencer, and so on and so forth. At twenty-eight Reagan wants to make a difference, get serious with his life, and he wants to get it right, but one hookup on New Year’s might might have set his goal to make this year better even worse. Not only did he mess up again, but his mess up was with his boss’s boss. His forever crush, Thatcher Pennington.

Thatcher is a workaholic with two failed marriages under his belt. He doesn’t engage in hookups often, due to his work schedule, but on New Year’s Eve a random hookup leads him to someone he never would have, or even should have, picked out…his friend’s son. To say the chemistry is explosive from the moment they meet is an understatement, but it should have only been the one time, there are so many reasons they shouldn’t work, but also so many reasons why they should.

Thatcher has a lot of blind spots when it comes to things in this book but it isn’t because he’s a bad man or pig headed, he’s almost twenty years Reagan’s senior so age is a factor when it comes to wisdom, but also age tends to make people set in their ways. So I loved his character for all of those facets built in. Thatcher is patient, loving, and very understanding when it comes to Reagan, but also practical and very business savvy. He’s great in every way.

Reagan is the perfect fit for Thatcher in the sense of his youthful outlook, his peopling skills, and general ease with everything he does. He takes everything in around him and brings it together with grace, the perfect man by far to run a social media account, but also to ease Thatcher’s workaholic life. Reagan is sooooo easy to like and I rooted for him through the entire book.

Lastly, I loved McGee, he’s hilarious 😂 He’s there through basically the entire book, but I’ll let you discover the awesomeness of McGee and why he’s so great!

Review – Get Him Back by Coralee

Get Him Back
(standalone)

Publication Date: January 18, 2024

Genre/Tropes: Contemporary/Second Chance/Workplace Romance

Author: Coralee

Review Rating: 4.5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
Get Him Back is definitely a slow burn, second chance romance that brings a lot of mushy heart vibes intermixed between silly laugh out loud moments.

First off, Sadie’s work environment resurfaced a lot of memories from my past work history where I was overlooked, overworked, and underappreciated for all of the extra tasks I was assigned. It was sometimes hard to watch Sadie be undervalued for half of the book. I honestly had no idea that after so many years it could be so difficult to see it spelled out on paper, but there it is.

Perhaps the pivotal moment I loved best was when Sadie was able to speak her mind, letting Jack know how much damage he did beginning in college leading up to the present. To sum up…there is always a beginning thread that begins to unravel us; creating our quirks, our core personalities and it isn’t often that we get to confront or even tell the person who pulled that first thread and began the hole in the fabric of who we become, if you will. Sadie never says anything about being less to those around her, she hates standing up for herself and a lot of those self-doubt feelings go back to those college days. Those feelings of never being enough for someone like Jack and the moment she was able to speak her truth…I even felt vindicated.

This book is of course a second chance romance…so of course the even better part of this story is that when Sadie told Jack he also listened. This is the point in the book I sat up and took notice.

This man, who didn’t appreciate Sadie, for reasons, is all about letting her shine. He’s a man who can excel on his own merit and loves when those around him excel too. There is nothing sexier than that. He isn’t afraid to admit he was wrong and he wants to make amends, plus he wants Sadie to shine. That’s fantastic boyfriend quality right there.

Get Him Back wasn’t what I was expecting, but in some ways the differences were freshing. In others, yes, I miss the quirky Coralee books I’ve read before, but this new path she’s taken is still a good book at the end of the day. Did it also take just a little bit to fall into their groove, just a touch, but that is why I went with 4.5 stars vs. a full 5.

Synopsis:
From CoraLee comes a second chance workplace romcom with a dose of revenge and irresistible passion.

Meet Jack Thompson: charming, captivating, and my newest co-worker—the same man who heartlessly ghosted me in college.

Now, it’s payback time.

With a sly smile and a plan for revenge, I’m ready to make him suffer. I seduce him, unravel his world, and leave him craving more.

But to my surprise, Jack revels in the torment, finding a twisted pleasure in our vengeful escapades.

I’m not sure who’s being played at this point.

I thought I had the game plan down to a science. But sometimes the line between revenge and passion is blurred—and in the biggest plot twist of all, settling scores might just mean falling head over heels.
