The Torment of Two; Shameful Secrets #5

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
K Webster rounded out this series with a story that was filled with all the feels. From laughter to tears and every emotion in-between. From the very first chapter, I was held within the books’ grip and brought tears, I knew that this book would be good, but it moved me beyond expectations!

To say that both Gemma and Two flourished by the end of this book would be an understatement. They blossomed bigger and brighter together than I could have anticipated.

Gemma Park loves her family, there is little doubt that she does, but she also feels like a prisoner trapped within the four walls of her home. She has an overprotective father, a mother that constantly worries about her, and multiple brothers who care just a bit too much. Yes, she realizes that these are selfish problems, as everyone in her life does care, but that also means she never gets any freedom to be alone or to be herself. It’s stifling, it’s controlling, and it’s lonely for a young girl.

Now that Gemma was beginning college this was the first time she had the opportunity to be free. To really find out who Gemma Park was without her family hovering. So while she was never lacking emotionally or physically, Gemma needed to spread her wings.

When she meets Tristan-or Two as everyone calls him, he may be one of the few people who instantly dislikes Gemma upon sight. The problem, they are partners on a huge project that takes up the majority of their grade. Gemma has her work cut out for her, so it’s a good thing she likes hard work.

Two is grumpy, but also kind of sweet. He’s a conundrum of opposites and I loved his character from the beginning of the book. Two is hyperfocused on projects he likes, but he’s also a bit of a mess in so many other ways. I adored that he was the opposite in so many things in comparison to Gemma, but she saw underneath his outer layer to his sweet soul. While they shared the same sort of passion in spirit they just displayed it in a completely different way. 🥰

Their relationship was a slow burn, but they had chemistry from the start. There was an innocence about the two of them that was endearing and sweet and completely different than the other Park siblings. A wonderful surprise for the final book.

Speaking of the whole series, there are quite a few cameos from from past books and with this being the last Park family book it made every appearance bitter sweet.

Synopsis:
From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes an enemies-to-lovers, new adult M/F small-town romance!

She craves freedom from her overbearing family, and being a student at Park Mountain University is exactly that for her. Until she’s partnered up for an entire semester with a surly, difficult man who despises her immediately for no reason at all. So much for an escape…

At PMU, I can finally be free to be my own person away from the Park family name.
This semester, though, my happiness is threatened when I meet him.
Tristan “Two” Sheridan is a grumpy jerk who nearly runs me over with his hunk of junk car and then has the audacity to blame me.

Our dislike for one another is instantaneous.
Imagine my horror when not only is he in one of my new “blow-off” classes, but I’ve also been partnered up with him for a labor-intensive class project for a huge portion of my grade.
His distaste for me is mild at first, but the second he learns my name, it turns to utter contempt.

Why does he hate me so much?
What did I ever do to earn such nastiness from a man I don’t even know?

Beneath Two’s crankiness are secrets—secrets I plan to uncover. With each encounter, I peel back more of the mysterious layers of the handsome man with the pale gray eyes and find there’s someone likeable deep down beneath. And, despite his grudge against me and my family, I think he can’t help but like me too.

As we spend more time together on our project, and just when I think I’ve got a handle on Two, I start getting harassed by someone else. This person stalks me at every turn, leaving me anonymous creepy notes and promises of a future together.

The stalker is the least of my problems, though. When Two reveals the true reason for hating me—the crushing secret that has tormented him his entire life—my own world is suddenly turned upside down. I feel inadvertently responsible and want to somehow make it all better.

A budding romance burns hot between us as our walls come down, but we have to keep it a secret. My parents will vehemently disprove of our coupling, and his will be utterly destroyed. Under the guise of our project, we’re able to spend stolen moments together, stoking the flames of our growing feelings for one another, keeping the bitter truth from our families.

But my stalker has other nefarious plans that keep escalating in nature.

In order to get help from my father and my brother’s cop fiancée, I will have to come clean. My life may depend on it. Ugly truths will be brought to light and Two’s family will no doubt suffer the consequences. I dread the day I’ll be forced to spill the truth.
Is this thing between me and Two worth all the heartache and pain destined for our future?
Only time will tell…

***This is a complete M/F standalone novel with a happily ever after. Tropes for this book enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine, college, new-age romance, opposites attract, historical preservation nerds, hidden rooms and treasure hunts, romantic suspense, mental health rep, and secret romance.***

Review – The Accidental Siren by Lexi Blake

The Accidental Siren; Texas Sirens Legacy #1
(#1 within a series)

Publication Date: April 30, 2024

Genre/Tropes: Cowboy/Menage/Suspense/BDSM/Small Town Romance

Author: Lexi Blake writing as Sophie Oak

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
It’s been almost fifteen years since I first read about this tiny town in Texas and completely fell in love with an author named Sophie Oak.

Now, as we’ve returned to the town of Willow Fork, time has moved forward for the Barnes-Fleetwood family and The Accidental Siren is a book that now focuses on the next generation. The babies have all grown up and my, my, my have they grown up good!!

What I loved about this book is that it’s a beautiful walk back in time with blasts from the past stirring up huge nostalgia, while the plot continually moves forward with the younger generation. It’s a wonderful blend of parents and their now, grown up children, living cohesively within this same world. It gave me all the steam and emotion that I adore with the main throuple, while also giving me the strong familial feelings that I crave while reading a Lexi Blake or Sophie Oak book.

Josh Barnes-Fleetwood is a great combination of his parents. The strong determination of Jack, the easy going smile of Sam, and the loving nature of his mother, Abby.

Grim, his best friend, took like a duck to water with the rules and order, when it came to their lifestyle, but he also thrives under both giving and receiving praise and lots of love.

Nicole had never been in a loving relationship, so having two men shower her with it, on top of a family who adores her brought tears to my eyes.

It never fails how many of Lexi’s books I read, I always end up in tears. This new generation is truly something special as it made me cry (I know nothing new), but it also made and laugh, while unearthing all the nostalgic feelings 🥹 I can hardly wait for more.

Synopsis:
Joshua Barnes-Fleetwood is the prince of Willow Fork, Texas, but not all is right with his world. He’s the heir to a multimillion-dollar company, has a family he adores, and his best friend at his side. He can’t figure out what is missing until Nicole takes a job at Christa’s Café. The pretty waitress is a mystery he needs to solve. He’s never been so attracted to a woman, and after one night in her company, he’s sure she can handle his needs. Unfortunately, he’s also sure she’s lying to him.

Jared “Grim” Burch found a home with the Barnes-Fleetwood family when he desperately needed one. With support from his newfound family, Grim beat all the odds and became a veterinarian. In Willow Fork, however, there are still people who are suspicious of him and his past. When he sees Nicole, he knows she’s the perfect woman for him and Josh, but he wonders if he has the right to bring her into his sometimes dangerous circle.

For Nicole Mason, Willow Fork is nothing more than a pit stop. Once she can save up the money to fix her car, she’ll do what she’s been doing for the last several years. Run. Framed for her husband’s murder, she can never stop looking over her shoulder. There’s always someone on her trail, and she can’t let them bring her back to the real killer. Getting to know Josh and Grim makes her dream of the life they could have together. If only she could trust them with her secrets.

When their past catches up to them all, they’ll find out that even a small town can be big trouble.

On a mission to find answers, she tracks Lila all the way to Firelight Ridge, Alaska, a wild outpost where Molly sticks out like a sore thumb in her designer duds and desperate search for Wi-Fi. Review:
What a fantastic beginning to a new series!! With tons of charm, wit, and intrigue tucked into every chapter of this story I couldn’t tear my eyes off of the page.

Molly Evans heads to Alaska when she hasn’t heard from her best friend for weeks. Why? Well…Molly found that certain areas in Alaska were so remote that traveling to the actual destination was the only way to find out if her friend was okay. However, never in her wildest dreams did Molly expect to find herself pulled into the middle of an ongoing investigation, even as much as she loved solving puzzles. Her dreams also never included a highly attractive man, and did I mention that he’s the same man involved in the investigation.

Sam Coburn is hiding more than he appears, but as his attraction to Molly deepens his secrets seem less important. He’s closed off, gruff, and alone, except for his dog, for a reason. That is until one feisty redhead boards his plane and he can’t seem to help the pull that keeps drawing them together.

These two were fun and had a ton of chemistry from the get-go.

This book is packed from start to finish with an amazing adventure, plus it’s fun, and it was intriguing to try and solve all the twists. On top of all of that this story also contained a ton of heart, and that is even besides Sam and Molly who have a strong connection. There is a strong girl friendship, a small town to fall in love with, and a story rich with laughter and love.

Review – The Law of Deceit by K. Webster

The Law of Deceit; Shameful Secrets #4
(#4 within a series)

Publication Date: March 11, 2024

Genre/Tropes: Age Gap/Forbidden/Opposites Attract/Suspense Romance

Author: K. Webster

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
The newest book in the Shameful Secrets series brings a reverse age gap story filled with a ton of intrigue and suspense and a forbidden love story with a ton of heart.

Dempsey Park has had a secret crush on his mothers best friend, Sloane, for years and to add to the forbidden layer of this book Sloane is also a police officer. 🚔 Hello Officer Do-Good vs. Delinquent Park 🫦🔥

So while it would be hypocritical of Dempsey’s parents to stop a relationship, considering they started from a forbidden age gap themselves, it’s also hard as a parent to watch your child make the same mistakes. I could see this aspect, but I also have to say that Dempsey is more than what he portrays to his family.

Dempsey’s a great kid sadly shadowed behind his straight A student sister, his parents past, and a young teen screw up that has layed the foundation for how everyone seems to view him. It’s a great reminder that not everyone is defined by the box they’ve been placed in. Change and growth is a big part of being human, but sometimes we forget and want to keep people in a safely wrapped bubble. My heart bled for Dempsey until he was alone with Sloane. Then that man knew what he wanted and whew!! 🔥🔥 Dempsey is hot!!

Sloane has known Dempsey his entire life and while she comes to a lot of terms about herself, her job, and of course about Dempsey through this book, the biggest one is that she recognizes a lot of same traits about herself in Dempsey. It doesn’t define age, which is what others want to focus on. Sloane has often been overlooked, been discarded, and set aside. Whether it’s in her family or her job, she recognizes the same loneliness in Dempsey.

They both are looking for someone to share moments with, along with thoughts, and feelings and those are big things that shouldn’t be discarded. I love this for both of them. 💕

There are surprises and a lot of suspense in this book, but more than anything I loved how much Dempsey and Sloane fell for one another.

Lastly, I’ll just touch on the relationship Dempsey has with his twin sister Gemma. Honestly, I’ve loved the entire Park family dynamic as the series has built from book to book, but the sibling relationship between these two is extra special. It’s funny and sweet and different than we’ve had before and I’m excited for Gemma’s book to see how Dempsey and frankly how all the Parks might play a part in it.

Synopsis:

He’s a rebellious young man with a lifelong obsession with his mom’s best friend.

He always assumed she’d be nothing more than a fantasy, but he’s not the only one with forbidden feelings…

I’ve loved her for as long as I can remember. She’s my mom’s best friend and a cop. Two reasons why I should stay far, far away from Sloane Thurman. It’s nearly impossible to keep my distance, though. The ache for her rare smiles and her sweet scent is more than I can bear. I’m more than her friend’s son. I want to show her I’m a man now and that I could be her man. My wish becomes a reality when Sloane takes in her nephew. She needs help and I’m just the man to step up. Hikes, coffee dates, and game nights are just the beginning for us. Entertaining the kid in an effort to get closer to her is no hardship. Being near her is the only reward I need. As we spend more time together, I manage to break down her rigid walls. When she’s not worried about her morals and being a good cop, she’s realizing the two of us can have a lot of fun. A good time isn’t all I’m after. If it were up to me, I’d haul her down to the courthouse and make her mine forever. Unfortunately, neither life nor love is that easy. There’s no way my family would understand our relationship. A secret romance will have to do…for now. We may be able to deceive everyone we care about, but one day our shameful secrets will come to light. For Sloane’s sake, I just hope I’m worth the fight…

*** This is a complete M/F standalone novel with a happily ever after. Tropes for this book older woman/younger man age-gap romance, opposites attract, he falls first, coffee lovers, mom’s best friend, romantic suspense, secret romance, and found family. ***

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
My absolute favorite OG couple is a main part of the secondary cast and I’m so over the moon with everything about them as parents, I couldn’t stop smiling. 😍❤️ As if Erin and Theo returning wasn’t the absolute best thing ever, and I’m not talking about just a page here and there because this book is about TJ and TJ is their oldest son, but Erin and Theo are like thereeeeeeeeeee, okay….the entire cast is just delicious, seriously OG and NG made my reading world super happy!!!! It’s everything…how they interact with one another, how they love one another, accept one another, whether it’s supportive, loving, snarky, it’s how family should be and I couldn’t get enough.

TJ Taggart is a great combination of both of his parents; a lovable golden retriever like his dad and also someone who felt he something to prove like his mom. He’s a beautiful blend that made him both,  hard to watch while he make mistakes, but also worth it when he blossomed into the man he was meant to be.

Louisa, or Lou, is also a wonderful product of her blended and found family. She’s extremely intelligent and has been forever in love with TJ. However, she’s never really understood why they can’t be together and doesn’t understand the pitfalls of falling for her soulmate so young.

TJ has loved Louisa Ward pretty much his entire life, but he was also in a place where he realized that Lou was going to do great things and he would only hold her back. That’s an impossible spot to be in when you love someone. Wanting to be by their side when they do all those great things is what you want to do…but true love is letting them fly when you believe you truly would hold them back and most likely in a cage of their own making. TJ is wise beyond his years and once again…loved him and also sometimes didn’t love him because of this wiseness. It’s makes so much sense, but like….LOVE, come on dude, LOL….JK….stick with him because he’s honestly, really great and so is Lou

Their back and forth, their push and pull, as they find a path to love is amazing, and also a bit heartbreaking at times, but truly worth the fight.  I can’t stress enough how much I adore everything about these new recruits and how much I love this huge found family. Plus the ending!!!!! Gah, I can’t wait until the next book and all the things that will be revealed.

Synopsis:
Life can often be awkward when you are a child genius. For Louisa Ward, that came in the form of meeting her one true love at age 12. TJ Taggart was perfect. But being a year younger and a full year ahead of him in school always made things weird. Working in the CIA has made her into a strong and capable woman. Until she sees TJ. Fifteen years later, she still gets butterflies every time she sees the gorgeous soldier, but she’s tired of waiting and ready to find love, even if it can’t be with him.

Not everyone knows what they want out of life when they are a teenager, but TJ Taggart could always see exactly where he wanted to go. But joining the Army would require a sacrifice. Since meeting Louisa, TJ knew his cousin’s brilliant, oddball friend was the woman he wanted to spend his life with. He couldn’t ask her to live that life with him. She was meant to change the world at some prestigious research job or maybe teach a new generation of geniuses like herself at an Ivy League school. There would be a chance to sweep her off her feet when his time in this dangerous life was done, and their happily ever after could begin.

On a top-secret mission, TJ’s unit is ambushed by an unknown adversary. No rescue is coming. As he waits to die, all he can think of is the time he wasted and how badly he wants to be with Lou. He’s more than a little surprised when his sweet, quiet girl shows up leading a CIA special ops squad to bust him out. Back in Dallas, it’s time to claim the woman of his dreams. He has a plan to win her over, until the adversary who almost killed him returns to finish the job.

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
Nikki Ash has a gift for turning the hardest moments into beautiful moments. I experience the most overwhelming feelings of comfort and belonging when I read her books, even when her characters go through the worst experiences. I can think of no better way to describe what I’m feeling except to say, she has a gift of turning bad days around. Thank you for continually sharing such a lovely gift, Nikki!! With that being said, reading Ellie and Lincoln’s story made my heart pound, it made my heart race, and it brought my heart immense joy!! It was perfect!!

Ellie Bardot is resilient and experienced beyond most girls her age. That is except in one area where she feels broken due to an incident that happened in her youth. However, there is one man she has always trusted, one man who has made her feel safe, and that man is her brother-in-law through marriage, Lincoln Alexander. So, aside from their age difference, he’s forbidden in ways most other men aren’t, but his protective and kind nature make him the safest harbor that Ellie has ever known.

Lincoln has no idea who the masked woman is that he spent the most incredible night of his life with on Valentine’s Day. For the first time ever he’s entranced by a woman and he has no idea who she is, but when the news is finally revealed that his masked woman is sweet Ellie Bardot, the girl he used to sit and help with her homework, well…she’s not a girl anymore…his world is turned upside down in more ways than one.

I couldn’t put this book down until the early hours of the morning. I was captivated, completely drawn in by these two souls, and lost within the burning passion they had for one another. Their lives are also twisted up in a complicated past. Like I said above, Nikki knows how to write beautiful, hard hitting stories. It’s engaging and I loved every word!!

I do believe this book is best read after reading The Risk of Falling, Micah and Sienna’s story, so you know the background of everyone, but it’s certainly enjoyable falling for Lincoln and Ellie in their own bubble, so your choice.

Synopsis:
What you can expect:

🖤 Hidden identity
🖤 Fourteen year age gap
🖤 Secret pregnancy
🖤 Broken heroine
🖤 Romantic Suspense

Ellie

Lincoln Alexander might think he’s too old for me, but he’s wrong. A fourteen-year age gap is nothing when you’re desperate to feel alive again.

The wealthy business owner has only ever seen me as off limits, but he has the power to put me back together—to chase away my demons with just his touch.

So, for one intense night, without him knowing who I am, I put my trust and pleasure in his hands.

My plan is to walk away, ready to move forward with my life, but when the doctor tells me that I’m pregnant, I find myself taking two steps back.

Lincoln

One night isn’t enough with the masked, green-eyed woman who walked into my club and turned my world upside down.

After I gave her what she wanted, again and again, she walked away without a trace.

When I finally discover the identity of the mysterious beauty who stole my heart on Valentine’s Day—and the secret she’s been keeping—my heart stops.

Ellie Bardot is all grown up, but I remember the innocent girl she was, even if she doesn’t. I hate that she lied to me, almost as much as I hate that I still want her.

Now I’m torn between being the man she needs me to be and doing the right thing.

Review – From Hell by Mallory Fox

From Hell; Villainous Delights
(standalone)

Publication Date: November 30, 2023

Genre/Tropes: Antihero/Dark/Suspense/Thriller Romance

Author: Mallory Fox

Review Rating: 4 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
The book began with a ton of potential and reeled me in. Laine was a survivor from a brutal attack a decade earlier that sent her life on a completely different projectile. She is now on the hunt to track down evil in the world to stop it before the same fate happens to an innocent, so hence she’s become somewhat of a vigilante with the darker edges of the man who attacked her years ago.

Again, I was quite intrigued in the beginning, but about a quarter of the way into the story it began to lag and take some odd turns that I honestly had trouble keeping up with. Did I find Jaxon fascinating? To a point, yes, but I also struggled with their chemistry at times. Both Jaxon and Laine came off as loathing each other more than being attracted to one another, where as The Ripper seemed more fascinated with Laine than Jaxon. That being said there were moments and glimpses where both characters give us deeper insights into what they feeling and the steamy scenes were next level intense.

Did I love this book, not five star love, but it was intriguing enough that the underlying plot kept me reading because I had to find out how it ended. I had to know what eventually happened to this killer couple…pun totally intended.

Synopsis:
His name is Jack… but I’m the real ripper.
Jaxon Clémont knows who I am. Why else would a monster leave petals like breadcrumbs? Send love letters straight from hell? He’s stalking me, taunting me, chasing me into the darkness. He knows where I sleep, eat, and even where I live. He’s a brilliant surgeon and a billionaire, untouchable in every way, with a soul-sucking gaze and a predatory smile. And he knows my deep, dark secret.
But I won’t go softly into the night.
Jaxon might be my weakness with a beautiful face and a divine mission who can cut my heart open with just one look and rip me apart with only a word—but I’m not another of his victims.
I won’t fall for his deviant charms.
I’m the real ripper, and I’m going to make him pay.

Review – Wicked and Bare by Shayla Black

Wicked and Bare; Wicked Lovers #8
(#2 within a duet, #8 within a series)

Publication Date: July 18, 2023

Genre/Tropes: Duet/Suspense/Second Chance/Forbidden Romance

Author: Shayla Black

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
An emotional ride with a heart-stopping ending!!

Jumping right in where we last left Madison and Matt. These two are now thrust deep into peril when Madison is forced to return to DC. Forced right back into the pit of snakes she left behind when she was running for her life…from her husband.

Both Madison and Matt would love nothing better than to run away and live their lives, but Madison also knows the reach of her husband and more importantly her in-laws. They will never be free unless she can actually get a divorce from the monster she is currently tied to. Following through with his sick demands and wading through the cesspool that is her life is currently the only way, even when it’s currently breaking both of her and Matt’s hearts in short term.

This book is emotional and much more of a mind bender than the last Wicked Lovers books in this series. It’s very intense between Madison and Matt right up until the very end, but so worth the ending they waited years to get. Loved it!!

Synopsis:
Join Matt and Madison for the conclusion of their Wicked Lovers: Soldiers For Hire love story. Coming July 18, 2023!

The duet delivers:

🔥 Alpha hero
🔥 Bodyguard
🔥 Danger
🔥 Dominant hero
🔥 Forbidden love
🔥 Forced proximity
🔥 Lovers reunited
🔥 On-the-run
🔥 Protector
🔥 Second-chance romance

He’d give his life to protect her…but he’ll demand everything from her in return.

Madison Archer-Pershing fled her murderous, soon-to-be ex-husband, running straight to operative Matt Montgomery, despite the fact he once broke her heart. Under his protection and in his arms, she can’t help but fall for him again. Then her husband discovers them together and coerces her back to his glittering, dangerous world of politics, greed, and deception. But Madison knows his deepest secrets…just like she knows he’ll try to silence her forever.

Matt knows he’s bad for good-girl Madison. He’s too rough, too commanding, but he can’t resist the woman who still owns his heart. Though he’s determined to keep her safe at any cost…he can’t protect her from his own dark desires. As she melts in his embrace, shocking revelations rock them. Peril lurks around every corner. And when he’s confronted with the most wrenching decision of his life, will he rip out his heart to save her or risk everything to claim her forever?

**Wicked and Bare is part of the Wicked Lovers: Soldiers for Hire romantic suspense series. Stories in this series are told in a duet of two full-length novels. Each duet can be read as a standalone. Includes strong language, sexy times, alpha male attitude, and a guaranteed happily ever after. Enjoy!**

Review – Sinful Kingdom by Tracy Lorraine

Sinful Kingdom; Sinful Trilogy #3
(#3 within the trilogy, #18 within the series)

Publication Date: April 27, 2023

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
This is the final book in Alex and Evie’s trilogy, not to mention this is the final book in one of the most all consuming, heart-pounding, and amazing series that Lorraine has written to date.

Sinful Kingdom did not disappoint for one single moment. Sweet, beautiful Alex was put through the wringer and all of my emotions went on a rollercoaster ride with him as well.

❤️Alex and his mum, be still my heart.

❤️Alex with Zay, my heart about burst.

❤️Alex with Evie , my heart overflowed and melted on the spot.

❤️I’ve said it before, but Alex was so worth the wait. He stole my heart and I don’t want it back.

Saving the best for last has been no joke when it comes to this book or even for this final trilogy. Am I sad to see it all come to an end…definitely! It’s been an awesome ride, but there have been some bread crumbs sprinkled throughout that make me believe these Knights may pop up here and there when their help is needed. Call me excited for future books with any interconnected ties, I will be there with my heart wide open for more panty stealers.

Synopsis:
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tracy Lorraine brings you the final instalment of her dark mafia, high school romance story set in the Knight’s Ridge Empire world.

Everything I thought I knew was a lie.

And the notion that I was safe and protected is shattered with every step I run.

Much like Alex, this world is a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing.

Beautiful, breathtaking.

Until…

Dear Readers,

Sinful Kingdom is the conclusion to Alex and Evie’s trilogy and the final couple in my Knight’s Ridge Empire series. This book is a dark forbidden bully romance that contains mature content and demanding alphaholes that some readers may find disturbing. You have been warned.

This is the final book in a trilogy and cannot be read as a standalone.

Let’s see…where to begin…

I’m inching up on the BIG 4-0. The gray hairs are doubling what seems like daily, and the wrinkles and laugh lines are more pronounced than ever.

I have an amazing husband (Married just over 15 years.) We have two boys we’re doing our best to raise as respectful gentleman.

I have a master’s degree in criminal justice which I used to work as a juvenile probation office until deciding to write full-time in June of 2019. So that means there’s usually always some criminal/law element to my novels.

If I’m not writing; I’m reading.

My favorite genres recently are bully/reverse harem and enemies to lovers. Maybe I’m reliving my traumatic teen years through the girls who actually end up with the boys. (Not that I would change my history since it’s gotten me exactly where I need to be!)

I love coffee. I miss carbs. Music is LIFE. I try not to be too serious.

He’s the oldest of the Stone brothers, and his “by the book” family has battled mine for control of our small town for generations.

The last thing I should do is sleep with him. Or nearly run him down with my truck. Especially since he’s sort-of my new boss

It doesn’t help that my grandmother (the mayor) is a former magician, and my mom is a psychic (sort-of)… And my dad died in a failed escape-artist attempt (that my mother is convinced was a murder).

Trust me, I know crazy, but I’m just plain ole Britt Bailey, Shania Twain-loving, non-magical forensic photographer. Yes, I take pictures of dead things, but I don’t see them in my bedroom at night.

I only want to see one thing in my bedroom at night, and when I’m called home to help Sheriff Stone on an investigation, he actually stops frowning for a minute, and my teenage fantasies get very real.

It’s a terrible idea. We work together, he’s seven years older than me, he’s a single dad, he hates all things magic, but a little taste, and we can’t say no.

Until the town crime wave turns personal, putting everything on the line, and we’ll need more than a magic bullet to get our happily ever after.

(A LITTLE TASTE is a small-town, grumpy single-dad romance with a touch of light suspense and lots of tasty spice. No cheating. No cliffhanger.)

Review – To Claim a Mate by Poppy Ireland

To Claim a Mate; Redwood University #3
(#3 within a series)

Publication Date: April 6, 2023

Genre/Tropes: Trilogy/New Adult/Suspense/Paranormal/Shifter/Fated Mates Romance

Author: Poppy Ireland

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
Thrilling non-stop action, passion and laughs all rolled into the amazing conclusion of this fated mates series.

The Redwood University trilogy has been one of my favorite indulgences these past few months. I have looked forward to each book release as my twitchy one-click finger hovers over the keyboard clicking YES, while internally shouting GIMME GIMME GIMME, and outwardly remaining calm enough so my husband doesn’t have me committed. As you can tell, Poppy Ireland has been cemented within my new favorite author picks.

Jumping into the last part of this story; Nicole, Alexi, Juniper, Corbin, and the rest of the magical crew work tirelessly to bring Alpha Jones down. He’s evil, plain and simple, but bringing him down won’t be quite so easy. While this book is about good fighting bad, it also includes so much more. It’s a story about found family, love after loss, standing up to injustice, love for your friends, love for your neighbor, and love for your mate. As much as I giggle every single time Corbin is on the page, his moment with his mate under the moon…yeah, I don’t want to say too much as to give spoilers, but I was totally choked up with a lot of tears.

Honestly, I think it’s what I love most about reading magical/sci-fi/fantasy/paranormal worlds is the inclusivity. No matter what world you live in, whether you are blue, purple with horns, sparkle and have wings, or have a very large appendage-yeah I’m talking about you Corbin…LOL…everyone wants to be included, respected, and loved, and at the end of the day it’s a beautiful thing.

To Claim A Mate is tense a lot of the time, but there were moments of laughter too and count on Corbin or Juniper for most of the levity, but I loved it. Nicole and Alexi fight with everything they have to take down his father, but together anything is possible.

On a side note…Cristian and a certain redheaded love interest? I’m totally down for that book to happen.

Synopsis:

Welcome back to Redwood University where nothing is as it seems… and I’m stronger than anyone expects.

*Final synopsis will be revealed at a later date.

The series should be read in order for the best reading enjoyment.

Review – Sinful Princess by Tracy Lorraine

Sinful Princess; Sinful Trilogy #2
(#2 within the trilogy, #17 within the series)

Publication Date: March 30, 2023

Genre/Tropes: Trilogy/New Adult/Dark/Mafia/Suspense Romance

Author: Tracy Lorraine

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
The final trilogy in this all consuming, heart-pounding series is wrapping up to be Lorraine’s finest. Sinful Princess has been another sinfully, sweet book that I couldn’t put down. Alex has been worth the wait.

Sinful Princess is full of nostalgic moments. I honestly couldn’t imagine any other Knight recalling stories with love, humor, and a touch of humility like Alex has. They way he regales Evie with stories of the past year of his brothers and how they have all found their loves completely warmed my heart. It’s what made his trilogy the cherry on top of an already great series. The walk down memory lane was bittersweet, but also fantastically sweet as it truly displays how much love Alex has for his family and how much love he has inside for the right woman, which just so happens to be the one spending time with him. This book while had very tense moments, also made me ooohy-gooey inside. Evie and Alex make so much sense and I want everything to work, just the way Theo projects. Yes, that’s right…Theo has somehow become Mr. Romance, just don’t tell Emmie. 😉

There is no denying that of all the Knights Alex is the sunshiny light of the group, but his secrets hold him to the dark side. His internal strife over those secrets lead to some sad and difficult times. So while I adored all of the lovey-dovey, super hot stuff in the middle it is sandwiched in between some heavy, heart-pounding, and dicey moments.

There is only one book left and this book left us with quite the cliffhanger. I’m not sure how everything will turn out so I’m crossing fingers and toes that it will and Evie and Alex find their HEA.

Synopsis:
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tracy Lorraine brings you the next instalment of her dark mafia, high school romance story set in the Knight’s Ridge Empire world .

For years, all I dreamed about is a different life.

One far, far away from where I grew up.

But I always expected to be the one to make the decision about where I went, and more importantly, who with.

Turns out, I never had a say in any of it.

My future had been mapped out long ago.

Dear Readers,

Sinful Princess is the second book in Alex and his vixen’s trilogy and the final couple in my Knight’s Ridge Empire series. This book is a dark forbidden bully romance that contains mature content and demanding alphaholes that some readers may find disturbing. You have been warned.

Review – Tropical Storm by Skye Warren and Amelia Wilde

Tropical Storm; Deserted Island #3
(#3 within a series)

Publication Date: March 9, 2023

Genre/Tropes: Trilogy/Midnight Dynasty Series/MFM/Suspense/Dark Romance

Author: Amelia Wilde and Skye Warren

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
The final book in this thrilling trilogy and it was everything I was hoping for!

For Carter, a man used to being in control, coming back home throws him off kilter. Carter never had trouble leaving his family even when his job could have taken away everything or everyone he knew. That is until he fell in love and realized that his love for Theo and June could be used as a liability and his loves could be killed because of what he does. He struggles a lot with second guesses and life choices, it’s very un-Carter-like, but also necessary. His self realization hits him hard, but made the whole story feel complete.

Theo has come a long way from the wild man we first meet in the jungle. His soul is connected to the earth and his heart is wide open, which was a beautiful thing to read, but more than anything I love how he fit with both June and Carter. His submission, for normally being so powerful was a great twist, while he was also was so gentle with June. Theo stole my heart.

As for June she is the sweetener that binds these strong men together. Her passion hasn’t changed from book one, where she isn’t afraid to go toe to toe with Carter and she will seek out Theo to curl up with when he needs it most. She’s the perfect blend they both need.

This trilogy was a great addition to the Midnight Dynasty series and this last book especially had a great reunion with all the siblings coming out to support Carter.

Synopsis:
A hurricane has come to Bishop’s Landing…

Carter Morelli has been all over the world. Secret missions. Gunfights. The eye of a tropical hurricane. Nothing scares him more than home, where he looks into a mirror every time he sees his father.

But when the two people he loves most are in danger, there’s only one place that’s safe for them. New York City.

He won’t be able to avoid the place where he grew up. The place where demons from his past haunt him. The place where June and Theo can finally see the truth about him.

TROPICAL STORM is book three in the Deserted Island trilogy. Find out what happens in the breathtaking conclusion of Carter Morelli’s scorching hot story!

Welcome to the Midnight Dynasty… The warring Morelli and Constantine families have enough bad blood to fill an ocean, and their brand new stories will be told by your favorite dangerous romance authors.

WARNING: This book is intended for readers eighteen years old and over. It contains material that some readers could find disturbing. Enter at your own risk…

Review – Bridges Burned by Marie James

Bridges Burned; Mission Mercenaries #3
(Interconnected standalone within a series)

Publication Date: February 2, 2023

Genre/Tropes: Mercenary/Dark/Mafia Romance

Author: Marie James

Review Rating: 5 Gold Stars

Review/Synopsis:

Review:
Bridges Burned is the third book in this dark mercenary series. While this book revolves around the mafia, revenge, and has a slow burn between the main couple, there is also a familiar feel to parts of this story. It didn’t make me like it any less, but perhaps that will help sort out why I continue to return to the comfort of this familiar world.

There seems to be a recurring theme among these mercenaries; kidnap a woman and then experience remorse while trying to figure out their next move. Yes, Hollis fell into the classic blunder that his fellow co-workers previously did. Silly mercenary. On top of that he swore off ever falling for anyone given his family history and isn’t that like waving a red flag in front of a romantic hero. He was going down and going down hard.

Hollis’ one goal in life is to take out the man who ruined his family and when he gets the opportunity, regardless of his job, those around him, even his own life, he takes it. He never stopped to think about collateral damage along the way, collateral damage in the form of a beautiful woman named Madelene.

As for the heroine, Madelene may have grown up in the mafia world and known all about the brutality and darkness, but what broke her was that she was eventually sold to the Severino family like a piece of furniture. Engaged to a monster, she is suffocated with the thoughts of her future, but when she’s kidnapped by a stranger, it might actually be the escape she never knew she’d get.

Neither Hollis or Madelene know about a healthy relationship or what love really is, but together they understand darkness and that is what I liked about the two of them. They really understood one another and what could be taken away from you in the blink of an eye. Their time together may have built slow, but it was meaningful. Plus….the twist at the end…brilliant.

Synopsis:

BRIDGES BURNED by Marie James coming February 2!

I didn’t swear vengeance on the Severino Family after Ellie’s death. I was only a child after all.

I didn’t swear vengeance when my father, a coward who wasn’t man enough to seek justice for her, drank himself into a divorce.

Going after them would be a death sentence.

I chose to live my life in the shadows, seeking revenge for others.

That was until I ran into the very man that took Ellie’s life.

I can still smell the smoke clinging to my skin from all the bridges I burned because of that man.

Walking away was no longer an option.

Killing him would be easy, but taking the woman that was promised to him seemed like a better wager.

Exacting retribution through her was the gamble I made.

Surviving her now seems impossible.

Goodbye Old, Hello To The New! (My Year in Review)

The last time I wrote one of these “Hello, New Year” posts was before the world took a nosedive into chaos.

I was honestly shocked to realize that I had set aside the childlike wonderment of what it means to countdown to a new year and celebrate the new birth of shedding last years woes and releasing all the misery that it can bring and I think right there is the problem…I hadn’t. For the past two years, as a country, a nation, a world, we have all been living in this constant cycle of, “is it over yet?” Holding onto all the grief, misery, and turbulence that our world was struck down with. I know I personally retreated hard into reading and read more books than I ever have in my entire life, but even as I enjoyed the escape it caused sacrifice in things like dusting (not a big deal I hate dusting), or exercise (okay, I should do that more, but ehhhh), or writing (now this is something that I greatly enjoyed-soooo now I needed to rethink things).

So while I hate resolutions, because I hate making promises that I know I will never keep…I prefer looking at the new year with new promise and hope. With that not-resolution in mind – I am making a promise to give myself grace in easing back into this thing called life. The very thing I know I have been avoiding for the past couple of years, but here goes.

I realize it’s yucky out there and the world has turned into a dark place. However, with that knowledge I hope to discover my joy for writing again (and not dusting, because ewww) and allow myself the grace to just sit in the chaos of the world instead of instantly retreating to all of the fiction that I love.

Sooooo, enough with the heavy and on to the good stuff….My top picks for 2022. I read a lot of books this past year. Not quite as many as 2021, but still it boiled down to almost a book a day. Considering I work, had a daughter who was married earlier this year, and I keep up with this blog, fitting all of that reading in shows just how much I escaped.

Thank you to all of the authors who helped me escape. I loved every moment of it ❤️.

If you’d like to visit any of the places I visited in the past year feel free to read all the reviews for books I’ve read in 2022 under Book Reviews

Please check out all the books released this past year listed under New Releases

I hold all of the books I read near and dear to my heart and it really is hard to pick just a few favorites, but as I went back and sifted through what I read a few titles jumped out. So let’s get to why they did…here are my favorite books of 2022!!

The Best Of 2022 by Kay Daniels

Star

*Every category is totally and completely picked by Kay Daniels Romance and all opinions are my own*

1. The Best Book of 2022:
The Devil of Dublin, by B.B. Easton

Aside from the drop dead gorgeous cover, because I know, don’t judge a book by one-but come on….am I right?🔥🥵….but aside from his gorgeous eyes…The Devil of Dublin had everything that I like to call the “IT” factor when I read it. Witty humor, intriguing/suspenseful plot, virgin hero with a dark past, just a touch of the supernatural, a true anti-hero with a heart of gold, but put into dark situations kind of story, and best of all it allowed me to travel to the lush landscape of Ireland. I could practically hear the Irish accents jump off the page when I read it. I don’t purchase many paperbacks, as I hate dusting, but this was one story I felt compelled to own. That is how much I loved this book. I was drawn in, entranced, and completely blown away by this magical tale.

Devil of Dublin by BB Easton is AVAILABLE NOW in Kindle Unlimited!

Here is the synopsis:

Devil of Dublin, a dark mafia romance drenched in Irish folklore!! ⁣⁣⁣
☘️ Broken boy turned mafia hitman⁣⁣⁣
☘️ Dreamy Irish scenery⁣⁣⁣
☘️ Forbidden love⁣⁣⁣
☘️ Folklore/fated mates⁣⁣⁣
☘️ Us against the world/couple on the run vibes⁣⁣⁣
☘️ White knuckle suspense⁣⁣⁣
☘️ Heart racing 🔥🔥🔥⁣⁣⁣
☘️ Deeply romantic and hauntingly dark⁣⁣⁣!!

I can’t remember anymore if my grandfather’s eyes were blue or green, but I’ll never forget the way they wrinkled at the corners when he laughed at one of his own jokes. Or the way they sparkled with mischief when he told me tales about the magical creatures that dwelled in the forest behind his humble Irish sheep farm—shy fairies who liked to eat tea biscuits, cruel witches who liked to eat children, a moody lake spirit with a taste for expensive gifts.

As a child, I believed every fantastical word. But when he warned me about the mute boy who also lurked in those woods, the one the priest had declared to be the spawn of Satan himself, I refused to listen. Kellen wasn’t evil. He was kind, and beautiful, and special, and hurting. He was my friend. And with every summer I spent stolen away with him in those enchanted woods, he grew to become so much more.

But when I return to Glenshire as an adult, grieving and engaged to someone else, all those legends quickly morph into nightmares.

My grandfather had been right about everything, especially the boy.

If only I had listened.
WARNING: If you are a sensitive reader or find certain topics to be emotionally triggering, please exercise self-care and select a different book. Devil of Dublin is intended for mature audiences who enjoy dark subject matter, tortured anti-heroes, explicit adult content, graphic violence, heart-pounding suspense, fairy-tale worthy love, and gorgeous Irish scenery. If that sounds like you, then welcome to Glenshire!

2. The Best Romance that also broke my heart in 2022:
Runaway; Empire High #5 by Ivy Smoak

You are probably scratching your head at this #2 spot. Give me chance to explain…as I scrolled through my list of books, Runaway stood up and smacked me in the face with all the feels all over again. It still had the power to evoke tears because the story is just that powerful. Even though it is the fifth book in a continuing series, it is, as Ivy explains, a bubble of a story where Brooke (the female MC) gets to live the perfect life with a man who loves her, adores her, and gives her everything without all of the hate, backstabbing, and lies that she had been tormented with before escaping into that bubble. You see prior to this interlude Brooke had lost everyone or been betrayed by everyone in her life. This bubble sounds pretty great right?? Who wouldn’t want to live in this bubble?? Hold your britches because even as a fan of the series I was in awe of how Ivy made me fall in love with this book. Like totally in complete love for how this little bubble was so ultimately perfect…until it popped and those are when the tears hit. Big fat ugly ones. That is why this book in on my list. I honestly can’t think of another series when I’ve been totally ALL in for this kind of bait and switch and then was a total emotional mess over the inaliation and yet, I still want more. Yes, please, may I have another, and pass me a tissue while you do……but, seriously, I love when authors twist things up and this was a great one!!

Here is the Synopsis:

To the first boy I ever loved.

I intended to keep my promises to you. I swear. I loved you, Matthew Caldwell. With my whole heart. I think a piece of me will always love you.

But it all came crashing down when I realized you didn’t keep your promises to me.

I refuse to take any of my days for granted. I learned that the hard way.

So I’m sorry. But I can’t keep my promises to someone who didn’t keep theirs.

XOXO,
-Brooklyn Sanders

3. The Best Book To Read Going In Blind In 2022:
Requiem by Callie Hart

I love reading…well basically everything. So reading reviews before I purchase items is pretty much automatic for me. Need a new pillow; read a review. Need a new vacuum; read a review. Want a new book; read a review. You see where I’m going with this…however, there are also authors that are just a one-click no matter what they write I buy it because I love everything they write. There are also books, based on plot, that should also be one-clicked. No questions asked. I want to state that Requiem fits into both of those categories. It’s a book that plagued me for days, weeks, months even after I finished it. I wouldn’t shut up about this book with those in my close circle because it blew my mind. So while I won’t give even the slightest hint as to what the plot is about I will say it is one of those books that will cause discussion at the dinner table because it certainly did at mine.

Here is the synopsis for Requiem:

SORRELL

He’s going to pay for what he’s done…

Theo Merchant was born into a kind of privilege I’ve never known.

He has everything I don’t: Money. A private school education. Popularity. A bright and shiny future, full of success to look forward to. He took the only thing I had going for me—my best friend, Rachel. Now that she’s gone, I have nothing left to lose.

I will infiltrate his world.

I will cradle his worthless heart in my hands.

I will burn down his entire life and destroy everything he holds dear.

I haven’t enrolled at Toussaint Academy to learn.

I’ve come to destroy a monster…

…and I won’t leave until he’s dead.

THEO

She has no idea what she’s getting herself into…

Sorrell Voss is intelligent, caustic as hell, and quite possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. She’s also going to get herself f#cking killed.

She’s a fool if she thinks I’ll go easy on her just because she’s broken.

You don’t venture into the lion’s den and walk away unscathed.

She has her secrets. That’s fine.

*My* secrets will unravel her until she comes apart at the seams.

She will bow to me, and she will break.

Then, and only then, will I make her mine.

REQUIEM is a 110,000-word, full-length enemies-to-lovers dark high school romance standalone. Some scenes within this book may be considered triggering to some readers, and it is therefore recommended for an audience 17+.

4. The funniest, hottest, holiday book in 2022:
A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone

Holiday stories, a lot of times get the same settings as our favorites Hallmark movies, or they go the total opposite and everything goes wrong. Imagine both of those mashed together with all of the sexy times you can handle. That is A Merry Little Meet Cute in a nutshell. The story is hilarious, fun, and also full of holiday whimsy. I loved that it was full of body positivity and had a color cast to boot, which always makes for great reading. The entire book was a total joy to read and don’t get me started on the hotness factor…or maybe do. The female lead is from the porn industry and I adored her, want to be best friends with her. Yes, she’s a total catch. I don’t normally pick a holiday book for my list, but this book had that something special that I just couldn’t shake and it still makes me chuckle when I think about it.

Here is the synopsis:

Cowritten by #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Murphy and USA Today bestselling author Sierra Simone—a steamy plus-size holiday rom-com about an adult film star who is semi-accidentally cast as a lead in a family-friendly Christmas movie, and the former bad-boy pop star she falls in love with.

Bee Hobbes (aka Bianca Von Honey) has a successful career as a plus-size adult film star. With a huge following and two supportive moms, Bee couldn’t ask for more. But when Bee’s favorite producer casts her to star in a Christmas movie he’s making for the squeaky-clean Hope Channel, Bee’s career is about to take a more family-friendly direction.

Forced to keep her work as Bianca under wraps, Bee quickly learns this is a task a lot easier said than done. Though it all becomes worthwhile when she discovers her co-star is none other than childhood crush Nolan Shaw, an ex-boy band member in desperate need of career rehab. Nolan’s promised his bulldog manager to keep it zipped up on set, and he will if it means he’ll be able to provide a more stable living situation for his sister and mom.

But things heat up quickly in Christmas Notch, Vermont, when Nolan recognizes his new co-star from her ClosedDoors account (oh yeah, he’s a member). Now Bee and Nolan are sneaking off for quickies on set, keeping their new relationship a secret from the Hope Channel’s execs. Things only get trickier when the reporter who torpedoed Nolan’s singing career comes snooping around—and takes an instant interest in mysterious newcomer Bee.

And if Bee and Nolan can’t keep their off-camera romance behind the scenes, then this merry little meet cute might end up on the cutting room floor.

5. The Standout Book(s) of 2022:
Beyond My Darkness by R.C. Boldt , When It Ends by Penelope Black , Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger

I had three books that I circled for this last spot and they all had a similar theme making it hard to pick just one. What was that theme? The Supernatural/paranormal and impending death. Cheerie subjects for the beginning of the new year, am I right?

I think with the way the world has been turning the past few years…I was drawn to this subject matter quite a bit – either through dystopian worlds, rebuilding worlds, the end of the world, death upon whole world…you name it…I loved it, craved it and fell in hard core love it. Hence, the titles listed above. While Pen Pal and Beyond My Darkness don’t necessarily fall into the total world enialition theme, they are unique in within their own rights. If you decide to check them out, I hope you love the dark themes contained within as much as I did.

P.S. I also don’t mind reading books that create a little controversy…if you get my drift and one of these titles definitely did that, so beware if you enjoy reading reviews 😉.

Here is the Synopsis for Beyond My Darkness:

USA Today bestselling author RC Boldt delivers a seductively unique romantic suspense with a paranormal twist in Beyond My Darkness

Twelve years ago, I fled, vowing to never again use my power. But everything changes when I break that vow and bring two bodies back to life in the morgue.

It sends me spinning directly into his orbit.

Arrogant. Menacing. Enigmatic. That’s Bronson Cortez, the notoriously violent gang leader who remains elusive to authorities.

He breaks the law at every turn and answers to no one. But when he offers me an alluring glimpse of what lies beneath that iron-clad exterior, I realize there’s more to him than meets the eye.

The man who fiercely guards his heart somehow manages to claim mine.

But he doesn’t know the truth about me.

I wonder if he could be the first to accept me for who I am—what I am.

I wonder if he’ll be the first to see beyond my darkness.

Here is the Synopsis for When It Ends:

WHEN IT ENDS by Penelope Black is a contemporary, adult, apocalyptic, reverse harem, romance story line focusing on Amelia, Cole, West and Gray.

Told from four first person perspectives (Amelia, Cole, West and Gray) WHEN IT ENDS follows twenty-two year old Amelia Christensen in the days prior to the literal end of the world. After a one-night stand in Vegas with a man she knows only as Sonny, Amelia returns to her grandmother’s home, where she will embark on a journey with her past.

WHEN IT ENDS follows the foursome as they must overcome the ensuing chaos and panic of a world about to implode. People are panicking, lives are lost, and only the chosen few will survive.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Here is the synopsis for Pen Pal:

The #1 international and Amazon Charts bestselling novel

The first letter arrived the day my husband was buried. It was postmarked from the state penitentiary, and contained a single sentence:

I’ll wait forever if I have to.

It was signed by Dante, a man I didn’t know.

Out of simple curiosity, I wrote back to ask him what exactly he was waiting for. His reply?

You.

I told the mystery man he had the wrong girl. He said he didn’t. I said we’d never met, but he said I was wrong.

We went back and forth, exchanging letters every week that grew increasingly more intimate. Then one day, the letters stopped. When I found out why, it was already too late.

Dante was at my doorstep.

And nothing on earth could have prepared me for what happened next.

WARNING:

This novel contains content intended for a mature audience only. Due to explicit language, graphic sex, detailed depictions of death and grief, intense power play dynamics, and other possible triggers, it is not suitable for sensitive readers. (Full list of TWs on author’s website.)

Blog Tour – Natural Disaster by Skye Warren and Amelia Wilde

Natural Disaster by Skye Warren & Amelia Wilde is now live!

Carter Morelli had a plan when he left London: deliver the wildlife photographer and then complete his secret mission. Except a lethal enemy has watched their every move. They tampered with the plane, leaving them stranded on a deserted island.

And they kidnapped June Porter, the innocent photographer.

In order to save her, Carter must confront the mysterious man in the jungle.

Who is he? Savior or betrayer?

He has no choice but to face the greatest enemy of all: the powerful feelings that draw him toward both June and Theo. Those feelings might kill them all.

New Double Release – Corrupt Knight and Corrupt Princess by Tracy Lorraine

 Release Date: December 8

The night we met, she was just another one-night stand.

We were never meant to see each other again, and my best friend certainly wasn’t supposed to go and fall in love with her best friend.

Collateral damage… she’s already broken my biggest rule when we hooked up for a second, third, fourth, and maybe a few more times.

She’s everywhere I turn. I can’t escape her or the things she makes me feel.

Thanks to my best friend wanting to do anything to make his girl happy, she’s the newest teacher at Knight’s Ridge College.

If I needed to stay away before, now I have no choice. Not only is she an obsession I don’t need… she’s forbidden.

But I’ve never been as good at following the rules, so much as breaking them. I need to be careful before she gets too close to break me.

The consuming darkness inside threatens to take over following my father’s death, and I find myself craving her light even more than ever.

The only problem is, I don’t want her to rescue me. I want to drag her down… corrupt her.

We’re a match made in hell that first night we met, so why stop now when playing with fire is so much fun.

Corrupt Princess

Corrupt Princess by Tracy Lorraine

USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tracy Lorraine brings you the next instalment of her forbidden dark mafia, high school bully romance story set in the Knight’s Ridge Empire world.
I learned from a very young age that the only person I could count on was myself.
For years I’ve been content with meaningless one-night stands and zero promises for tomorrow.
I had a good thing going, until he crashed his way into my life… and heart, and wrecked them both.
Nico Cirillo.
The bad boy mafia prince and the one man who’s ever left me craving more. Not that I’ll admit that.
And now, he’s not only a mistake I’ve made time and time again, he’s everywhere I turn.
Taunting me.
Tempting me.
Doing everything in his power to screw up my life, tarnish my reputation, and corrupt the only dream I’ve ever had.
But while I’m pushing as hard as I can to keep him away, his reckless decisions and hot-headed behaviour have forced him to reconsider.
His U-turn is enough to give me whiplash, but it’s nowhere near enough for me to lower my walls and let him in.
To give him a chance he doesn’t deserve.
It’s going to take more than a bit of grovelling after all the ways he’s hurt me, even if it is on his knees.
